Gotta love Pixar.

Good to see that the Michael Jordan of animated movies is getting back into original storytelling. Aside from Inside Out (banger), The Good Dinosaur (enjoyable), and Brave (haven’t seen it), Pixar has been hitting the sequel pipe heavy over the last couple of years. Not that there’s anything wrong with that because Pixar sequels are better than 75% of animated movies.

All I’m saying is this: Original movies are what got Pixar to this point and it wouldn’t hurt to go back to their roots. So, those who agree with me, enjoy this while it lasts because Pixar’s upcoming slate of films includes the likes of Cars 3, The Incredibles 2, and Toy Story 4.

Coco‘s official synopsis:

Coco follows the secret musical ambitions of Miguel, who resides in a lively, loud Mexican village but comes from a family of shoemakers that may be the town’s only music-hating household. For generations, the Riveras have banned music because they believe they’ve been cursed by it; as their family history goes, Miguel’s great-grandfather abandoned his wife decades earlier to follow his own dreams of performing, leaving Imelda (Miguel’s great-grandmother) to take control as the matriarch of the now-thriving Rivera line and declare music dead to the family forever.

But Miguel harbors a secret desire to seize his musical moment, inspired by his favorite singer of all time, the late Ernesto de la Cruz. It’s only after Miguel discovers an amazing link between himself and De la Cruz that he takes action to emulate the famous singer and, in doing so, accidentally enters the Land of the Dead.

In the beautiful underworld, it’s not long until Miguel encounters the souls of his own family — generations’ worth of long-dead but no less vivacious Rivera ancestors, including great-grandmother Imelda. Still, given the opportunity to roam around the Land of the Dead, Miguel decides to track down De la Cruz himself. He teams up with another friendly (and skeletal) spirit — a trickster named Hector — to find De la Cruz, earn his family’s blessing to perform, and return to the Land of the Living before time runs out.

Coco will be released in theaters on November 22, 2017. The other movies on Pixar’s schedule through 2020 are Cars 3, The Incredibles 2, and Toy Story 4.

Not only do I have no clue who Tinashe is or what songs she’s been in, I’m not entirely sure I even know how to properly pronounce her name.

But I’m going to have to learn, because three months into 2017 and this chick has been EVERYWHERE, at least for me and my Instagram feed. Not that I’m complaining or anything, because well, look at her, but I just figured that if she’s going to be popping up all over social media, I might as well figure out who the hell she is.

Tinashe Jorgenson Kachingwe, known professionally as just Tinashe, was born on February 6, 1993. She is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, actress, and former model who began her career at the age of three when she started modeling and acting. Here’s a relatively wild fun fact about Tinashe: In 2004, she provided the motion capture from the female protagonist in The Polar Express alongside actor Tom Hanks.

In 2012, Tinashe released two critically acclaimed mixtapes, In Case We Die and Reverie, which she recorded at her home studio.

After those two successful releases, Tinashe signed with RCA Records and released her third mixtape, Black Water, in 2013.  In 2015, Tinashe was nominated for “Best New Artist” at the BET Awards.

In March 2017, Tinashe released a new single called “Flame” and released some fire pictures to promote it.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City heads to France to take on AS Monaco in the second leg of their Champions League round-of-16 matchup. Back on February 21, Manchester City won the first leg at Etihad Stadium by a score of 5-3.

For Manchester City, striker Gabriel Jesus and midfielder Ilkay Gundogan are out with injury, however, there is hope that captain Vincent Kompany is able to make his return to the lineup today.

Fernando Torres is expected to return to Atletico Madrid after missing the last two weeks with a head injury. Three ducklings rescued by University of Colorado fraternity members who were hiking up at Chautauqua are headed back to the students after police determined that the ducks were actually abandoned pets and not wild animals as they originally believed.

University of Colorado police originally confiscated the three ducklings Tuesday after three of the students held a pie-throwing fundraiser on campus to try and raise money for the baby birds.

Scott Pribble, a spokesman for the CU police, said one of the school’s officers found three students trying to raise money for the ducklings by allowing people to throw pies at their faces in exchange for cash. Obviously, March 14 is observed by some as National Pi Day.

“They were over at Norlin Quad doing a fundraiser to buy a proper shelter for their new pets,” Pribble said.

Furthermore, Pribble said police, thinking the ducklings were wild, decided to confiscate the animals and take them to a local wildlife center. Police were not sure if the fraternity members were able to raise any money before being shut down by university police. The students, who remain unidentified, were not issued any summons.

Boulder police animal control Officer Taylor Barnes came to pick up the ducklings, he realized that they were not wild and were likely abandoned pets. The ducklings’ former owners have a week to claim them, but Barnes said he doubts that will happen.

In consulting with the Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, Barnes said he discovered local stores often begin to sell ducklings and chicks before Easter and that the baby animals often wind up being abandoned.

Barnes said that he went over to the fraternity to inspect the ducklings’ living situation and said if they aren’t claimed in a week, he was comfortable giving leaving them with the fraternity.

Barnes said the ducklings are only about three to four weeks old, and said he told the fraternity they will likely have to give them up when they get bigger.

Seminole High School in Sanford, Florida has been locked down by authorities. According to initial reports from police, there is one victim in the shooting, who was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say that parents who need to pick up students can do so from the Live Oak entrance to the school once the lockdown is lifted. Furthermore, media will be briefed at Hartwell Ave and 25th Street-McKibbin Park.

Sanford police were notified of the shooting around 1:30 P.M. EST. Officers are currently searching for the shooter.

Heather Morris, 30, is set to be a contestant on season 24 of Dancing with the stars. The one edge that Morris has over her competition is that she is already a skilled dancer, with her past work including being a backup dancer for Beyoncé’s tour and concert film The Beyoncé Experience Live. Morris was also a contestant on So You Think You Can Dance and played a dancer in the film Bedtime Stories.

The USA advanced to the second round of pool play by going 2-1 in the first round. They defeated Colombia 3-2 (10 innings), lost to the Dominican Republic 7-5, and beat Canada 8-0 to finish in second place in Pool C. UC Davis’ road to March Madness was a helluva lot tougher than the Eagles. The Aggies finished second in the Big West during the regular season, going 11-5 in conference play. In the Big West Conference Tournament, #2 UC Davis was in a nail-biter in practically every round. Antonio Brown is one of the NFL’s most incredible wide receivers, so it should not be shocking that he is also one of the league’s highest paid. But how has Brown accumulated his wealth? Let’s find out.

Brown’s contract was fairly typical for new NFL wide receivers at the time. His signing bonus was a mere $73,000. His salary for the 2010 season was $320,000, as his first contract with Pittsburgh was worth only $1,200,000. This continued into 2011, when he was slated to make $450,000, a fairly low rate for a player of his caliber.

2012 – 2016

In 2012, Brown signed a $42.5 million contract extension that instantly gave him $8,500 with a base salary of $540,000. As his level of play increased on the field, he began to earn more, especially when he hit certain incentives in his contract. In 2013, Brown earned the bulk of his money for the season in his roster bonus, which was worth $2.5 million. His base salary that season was only $650,000. After restructuring his contract again, he was given a bonus of $3.8 million.

In 2014, the star wide receiver had a base salary of $730,000, however his bonus was an incredible $5.2 million. The Steelers were pushing the majority of his earnings into his salary bonus to help free up cap space, but Brown’s biggest payday was yet to come. At the start of the NFL league year in 2015, Brown earned a base salary of $1 million but had $2 million added from previous restructures.

He earned $24,700 in incentives after he had an incredible season. The next season he would really cash in as a star and earn most of the money that was available in his contract. He would earn $10.25 million throughout the course of the season, which was his biggest collective payday to up to that point. In the final year of his first contract, he was set to earn a base salary of $910,000.

This was similar to how the Steelers treated his salary before, but the main difference was that instead of $1 or $2 million they converted the $19 million he was set to earn into his signing bonus. This not only gave Pittsburgh some breathing room in terms of cap space, but it also gave the star wide receiver the most money he had earned in a single season.

Brown recently signed a four-year extension with the Steelers worth a total of $68,000,000. This could be the biggest contract of his career and should go a long way to making him a Pittsburgh Steeler for life.

During the Steelers’ last run for the playoffs, Brown kicked off his brand new sponsorship deal with Facebook, recording himself and his teammates on Facebook Live. The incident landed him in some hot water with Steelers head coach, Mike Tomlin, but it probably netted him a pretty big check. Plenty of other big name sponsorships should be in Brown’s immediate future as he is one of the NFL’s most famous and productive players.

A 37-year-old man, who remains unidentified, remains in critical condition after being assaulted at Texas Chicken and Burgers in Flatbush, Brooklyn.

The victim, who was left in critical condition, offered to spot the two men when they did not have enough money to pay for their meal while dining at the New York restaurant on March 1.

Instead of accepting or politely declining the good samaritans offer, an argument ensued, and four men began punching and kicking the victim, even beating him with his own cane. Afterward, another man entered and emptied his pockets, police said.

EMS took the victim to a local hospital where he received treatment for broken bones, lacerations, and contusions.

The victim’s act of good will was rebuffed by the two men, before an argument ensued around 7.30pm at 521 Ocean Avenue in Flatbush. The situation soon escalated and the two men started throwing punches and using the 37-year-old’s cane to beat him.
Two other men entered the restaurant and joined in on the attack, with surveillance footage showing the group of four kicking the victim in the head and body. Other customers at the restaurant looked on, with some trying and failing to step in.

After the four attackers fled the restaurant, a fifth man entered and emptied the victim’s pockets while he was still lying on the ground. The victim was eventually taken to the hospital, where he was treated for broken bones, cuts and bruises.

The New York City Police Department are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-8477

I went as long as I possibly could without finding out what exactly Vanderpump Rules was.

For my almost two years in this industy, I was able to keep it in the periphery –I knew it existed– but I didn’t know exactly what the hell it was. Well, thanks to Scheana Marie and her fire Instagram page, I was forced to look into what the show is about.

Apparently, Vanderpump Rules is some sort of Real Housewives spin-off, about some woman named Lisa Vanderpump (electric name — can’t hate) who runs a restaurant that employees a bunch of reality television stars eccentric people.

Now, I’m not exactly sure how Scheana fits into all this, nor do I care enough to look it up, but I do know that she’s a certified smoke. Hate on reality television all you want (please do), but it produces some dimes. Scheana Marie included.

Although this game technically counts as the NCAA Tournament, everyone knows that the real action starts tomorrow. With that said, I will settle for this game tonight, and even though it’s a play in game, it’s quite the matchup between two #11 seeds as USC takes on Providence in a rematch of their first round matchup in last year’s tournament where Providence came away with a one point victory by the score of 70-69.

Things have been pretty good at USC this year. Their football team won the Rose Bowl in a thrilling game, and their basketball team is back in the tournament for a second straight year. The Trojans finished the year with a 24-9 record, and even managed to beat their bitter rival then #8 UCLA during the season too. While USC may not have any NBA prospects on their current team, if they play extremely well tonight, they very well could get revenge on Providence this year, and advance to the games on Friday.

Providence has actually had a pretty tough schedule this year, and have had to face nine ranked teams during the season, winning three of those games. They finished third in the surprisingly tough Big East this year, and did so playing stifling defense that only allowed 66 points a game. Lead by leading scorers Rodney Bullock and Emmitt Holt, the Friars are looking to take down USC for a second straight season, even though they’re going into this game as the underdogs. As a citizen, you never want your president to be a risk-taker.

But as a basketball fan, you certainly want your bracketologist to come in hot with some risks. Barack Obama yet again proves that he’s never been that guy, as he’s once again gone completely chalk in his March Madness bracket.
