Emma Watson’s Beauty and the Beast hits theaters this weekend, giving the young actress another major movie release under her belt. As the former Harry Potter star joins the Disney family, we started to think about how much money she’s raked in over the years. Watson has done a fantastic job of alternating between big franchise affairs and smaller, more independent films. The combination of both have given her an impressive career that is continuing on an upward trajectory.

2001 – 2006

Emma Watson scored her first BIG break as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, which hit theaters on November 16, 2011. The film kicked off one of the most successful movie franchises in history and topped 2001’s box office list with $974 million. The young actress would reprise her role several more times in the ensuing years: Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets (2002), Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007).
2007 – 2011

Amid the zenith of her Harry Potter fame, Watson was pulling in between $15 million and $20 million per year from acting. Along the way, she earned several notable awards.
The actresses’ first big role outside of the Harry Potter movies was in the British TV movie Ballet Shoes. Her voice was also featured in the 20018 animated film The Tale of Despereaux.
In 2009, Watson returned to the Wizarding World with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Over the next two years, she concluded her time as Hermione Granger with 2010’s Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows – Part I and 2011’s Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows – Part II.
In March 2009, Watson was ranked sixth on Forbes’ list of “Most Valuable Young Stars.” The next year, she earned the top spot among Hollywood’s highest-paid actresses with an estimated take of $27 million.
Watson has complemented her acting with high-end modeling work. In June 2009, she collaborated with Burberry as the face of their Autumn/Winter campaign. It is thought that she received a six-figure salary for this work.
2012 – 2014

In 2012, Watson appeared in the well-received independent film The Perks of Being A Wall Flower. In 2013, she appeared in two movies: The Bling Ring and This Is The End.
The next year, Watson was selected as British GQ’s Woman of the Year. In 2014, she was awarded the British Fashion Award.
2015 – Present

Watson appeared in the 2015 thriller Colonia. She was also the No. 1 entry on AskMen’s Top 99 Outstanding Women list.
Watson’s next big project is as Belle in Disney’s upcoming Beauty and the Beast live action adaptation. While her salary for the film has not been publicly disclosed, Disney is known as a female-friendly studio.
