You could say that the latest Game Of Thrones novel has taken a while. It’s been over five years since the release of the A Dance With Dragons, the newest novel in the A Song Of Ice And Fire series. And in that five years, a lot has changed for GOT. The novel’s publication date has been delayed so many times that the HBO show officially passed the novel’s narrative. Now, while the show contains certain details from the upcoming novels, the two are now headed on different paths.

Well, it appears that our wait may be over. Amazon France (yes – Amazon France) recently posted a listing for The Winds of Winter that’s been quickly noticed eagle-eyed fans. The release date: March 9, 2017. The listing is actually still live, which you can find here.

March seems to be the perfect release month for the upcoming novel. While Thrones usually begins airing in late April, the upcoming seventh season is not expected to premiere until late June or early July, giving fans something to hold them over. While this all sounds great in theory, it needs to be taken with a grain of salt, as Martin’s UK publisher HarperCollins told one outlet reporting the rumor that “nothing has been finalized regarding the publication or the date.” According to Entertainment Weekly, Martin’s U.S. publisher, Penguin Random House, could not be reached for comment). Similarly, Amazon has also posted false placeholder dates for Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire books in the past. In early January 2016, Martin confirmed on his

Digging a little deeper, in early January 2016, Martin said that there was “a lot still left to write” and that completion of the book was “months away still… if the writing goes well.” Well, here’s to hoping that the writing went well, cause if so, we’re looking at new Game Of Thrones content in just a short 6 months. This high school dropout is worth a ton of money. Born on July 15, 1950, Branson enrolled at Stowe School, a boarding school in Buckingham, England, when he was 13 years old. He studied there until he turned 16, before dropping out to run his first business venture, The Student, a political magazine. The headmaster allegedly said that this bad boy would either go to prison or become a millionaire. Wise man.

One of Britain’s highest-profile billionaires, Richard Branson earned his fortune from a conglomerate of companies under the Virgin brand, many of which he no longer controls. But selling his babies made him a billionaire.

Branson originally founded Virgin as a mail-order record retailer in 1970. Two years later, he built Virgin’s first recording studio, in Oxfordshire, where he made the first Virgin recording, Mike Oldfield’s “Tubular Bells.” Virgin signed the Sex Pistols in 1977, and had developed an artist roster that included Culture Club, the Rolling Stones, and others.

After dabbling in music, Branson decided it was time to try something else. In 1984, Branson formed Virgin Atlantic Airways. A far cry from anything even remotely related to music. He later wrote in his autobiography Losing My Virginity explaining his reason for starting an airline:

“My interest in life comes from setting myself huge, apparently unachievable challenges and trying to rise above them… from the perspective of wanting to live life to the full, I felt that I had to attempt it.”

But his attempt to fly cost him dearly. In 1992, to keep his airline company afloat, Branson sold Virgin Records to EMI for $1 billion, which reportedly made Branson run down London’s Ladbroke Grove crying because the record business had been the very start of the Virgin empire.

Still, selling Virgin Records wasn’t enough to fill the hole. In 1999, Branson sold half of Virgin Atlantic to Singapore Airlines for $960 million.

2000 – 2009

Branson’s dream of flying didn’t stop there. On September 25, 2004, he announced the signing of a deal under which a new space tourism company, Virgin Galactic, with plans to license the technology behind Spaceship One—funded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and designed by legendary American aeronautical engineer Burt Rutan—and to take paying passengers into suborbital space. For a price of $200,000, you can ride toward the Milky Way.

However, flying tourists into space is no easy feat. And cash burnt fast. In 2009, an Abu Dhabi fund bought one-third of Virgin Galactic for $280 million, despite the fact the space tourism startup had yet to open commercial operations. In October 2014, one of its spaceships exploded in mid-air, killing a test pilot and injuring another. Still, Branson continues to develop rocket-powered planes with the goal of transporting tourists to space.

2010 – 2013

In 2013, Branson sold Virgin Media to John Malone’s Liberty Group for $23 billion. Even then, he still has dozens of business ventures left, including financial services firm Virgin Money and Virgin airlines based in the U.K., America and Australia.

In 2015, he and private equity firm CVC Capital Partners sold around 80% of the Virgin Active chain of health clubs to South African tycoon Christo Wiese for $1 billion. Out of that $1 billion, Branson banked $300 million for his stake in the sale.

Branson’s wealth are shielded in a complicated series of offshore trusts and companies. He lives on Necker Island, in a retreat on the British Virgin Islands. Even though Branson claims he lives there for health reasons, the tax benefits are not to be believed.

After one of the most exciting opening weekends in recent memory, the 2016 college football season is officially underway. With two top five teams losing, #3 Oklahoma and #5 LSU, Ohio State and Michigan round out the new top 5.

What a godawful medley. You know this teacher spent all damn summer on this too. Pouring her heart and soul into every lyric, thinking that she was going to CRUSH it. But instead of becoming the most popular teacher in the school, she ended up with viral infamy. It’s a cold world out there.

Skip Bayless is far from popular. In fact, other than people like the Kardashians and such, Bayless may be one of the most despised public figures this nation has. Fox Sports said “F it” and decided to buy into the “hate is love” credo and hire Bayless away from ESPN, reportedly paying him something like $7-8 million a year.

Bayless’ new show, Undisputed, aired this morning, so I decided to tune in. And WOW, is it garbage. I’d be shocked if it lasts a full year. It is LITERALLY the same show as First Take, only Skip Bayless apparently seems to have more power, which is good for absolutely no one. One of the people (other than myself) that is upset that Bayless is now on Fox Sports, is none other than Hall Of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman. Troy Aikman has worked for Fox Sports for 15 years and has been the network’s lead NFL analyst since 2002, so his word has some weight within the organization.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Aikman absolutely annihilated Bayless, showing absolutely no mercy:

“To say I’m disappointed in the hiring of Skip Bayless would be an enormous understatement. Clearly, [Fox Sports President of National Networks] Jamie Horowitz and I have a difference of opinion when it comes to building a successful organization. I believe success is achieved by acquiring and developing talented, respected and credible individuals, none of which applies to Skip Bayless.”

Those are some fightin’ words from the ole’ Cowboy. It should be noted that their beef between Aikman and Bayless stretches back over two decades, back to when Bayless wrote a typically asinine Bayless article, in which he baselessly insinuated that Aikman was gay.

I rarely root for anyone to fail, but I am certainly hoping Bayless’ new show goes down in glorious flames.

The NFL season is so close that I can practically taste the chicken wings and beer, as the Denver Broncos are set to battle the Carolina Panthers in a Super Bowl 50 rematch on Thursday, September 8. But while we are on the doorstep of glorious NFL action, Pee Wee football is already in full swing. This bone-crushing tackle is a perfect appetizer for our main course.

What a MONSTER hit. I could practically hear the air leaving poor #5’s body after that one. Everything #1 did in that play was absolutely flawless. He took a textbook pursuit angle, delivered a perfect form tackle, and he even ended up with the football. I couldn’t tell from the video if he was actually rewarded possession or not, but that’s still a heady move from a fierce competitor wise beyond his years. He might be the second coming of Ray Lewis, while #5 might want to take a long, hard look at dropping football and picking up the cello.

We’re heading into the final week of the NFL preseason, which means the season finale of HBO’s Hard Knocks!

Hard Knocks is a reality sports documentary TV show produced by a partnership between NFL Films and HBO. The show’s first season, which followed the Baltimore Ravens, premiered in 2001. Each season, Hard Knocks follows an NFL team through its training camp and covers the team’s preparation for the upcoming football season. The NFL and HBO have called Hard Knocks “the first sports-based reality series” in television history. A film crew of 30 is on-site at the training camp and set, which launched in 2001 following the Baltimore Ravens, and since has won 14 Sports Emmys. On March 23, 2016, it was announced the Los Angeles Rams will be the team featured for the 2016 season.

The series showcases the lives of the players, coaches and staff, including their family life, position battles, and even inside jokes and pranks. It particularly focuses on rookies’ adjustments to playing in the NFL, usually with the most emphasis on the team’s most recent top draft pick. The show also usually chooses to focus on undrafted and journeyman players who are attempting to make the team.

2016 has not been the best year in terms of agreement (see: presidential election). However, if there is one thing that all Americans can agree on, it’s that Stanford Rapist Brock Turner is the human embodiment of a piece of sh*t who deserves to spend the rest of his life buried under a jail. The disgraced Stanford student and former Olympic-swimming hopeful, who registered as a lifelong sex offender in the state of Ohio, was met with armed protesters outside of his parent’s home in Sugarcreek, Ohio upon his return.

After serving his meager 3-month sentence, Brock The Rapist returned home this week. Needless to say, he may be safer in jail, as neighbors and protesters alike were there waiting for him, guns, signs, and all.

Hopefully, Brock’s life will continue to crumble around him. After somehow outrageously escaping jail time, this kid deserves every miserable thing that will happen to him for the rest of his days on earth. In fact, he deserves worse.

Gotta admit, I needed this one this morning. Yesterday, the day after Labor Day, is notorious for being one of the worst work days of the year- summer’s over and you realize fall is on the way. So when I stroll into the office this morning, begin skimming the headlines, and see “US Forces Taunt ISIS…”, needlessly to say, it got me goin’ for the week. I’m ready to tackle the rest of the week with great vengeance and furrrriiiouuus anger.

So where are we? This is Iraq. More specifically, near Qayyarah. Footage shared by The Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve shows an ISIS truck speeding along a desert road before it gets absolutely straight f*cking BODIED by the US of A. Usually, this would be an awesome video in and of itself, but these boys decided to make it a little sweeter by taunting the bastards.

A badass woman fighter, Asia Ramadan Antar, who became known as the ‘Kurdish Angelina Jolie,’ was killed fighting ISIS this week. Curious as to just how truly badass she was? The 22-year-old was among the highest ranks of the all-female Women’s Protection Units, which is a Kurdish group battling ISIS near Syria’s border with Turkey. A message on the ‘We Want Freedom for Kurdistan’ Facebook page said she was ‘martyred in a battle against Daesh.’

According to IFP News, Antar-who was one of the most renowned female Kurdish fighters- was killed in fierce clashes with ISIS in the Syrian border town of Jarabulus.

Antar was born in 1996, and joined the Kurdish YPG in 2014, when she was just 18 years old.  She was born in Qamishli, a city in north-eastern Syria on the border with Turkey, and recruited into the Women’s Protection Units, which is an all-female Kurdish military organization who combats ISIS militants.

According to Daily Mail, Antar is said to have been involved in a number of key battles with ISIS in northern Syria before she was killed.

Sounds like one hell of a woman. May she rest in peace.

In 2011, Harington landed the role that would change his life. Selected to portray Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, (AKA the best TV show since the beginning of time), Harington’s brilliant performance won a nomination for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor on Television in 2012 and an Empire Hero Award (which he shared with the cast) in 2015.

Following his success in TV, he soon made his film debut. He starred as Vincent in the 3D horror film Silent Hill: Revelation, based on the video game of the same name. And for that role, he won Actor of the Year at the 2013 Young Hollywood Awards. This guy just never goes home empty handed.

Harington got his first major lead role in a feature film when he played Milo in Pompeii, which was a huge box-office success. In the same year, he lent voice to Eret in How to Train Your Dragon 2, which won the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film and received an Academy Award nomination. Everything this kid touches turns into gold.

Of course, for season 7 of Game of Thrones, the producers are eager to have Harington back.

The “A” tier — Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) — got the biggest pay bumps, up to nearly $300,000 an episode, according to Deadline.

I’m seriously convinced ESPN is turning into a factor for beautiful sportscasters. From the OGs like Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompsom to the new age like Prim Siripipat, Jen Lada, and Molly Qerim, ESPN has been rolling out smoke shows for years now. Well, you can definitely add Cassidy Hubbarth to that list.

Hubbarth, 31, currently hosts ESPN2’s NBA Tonight and also anchors SportsCenter. Hubbarth reps a crazy exotic mix of Filipino, German, and Irish descent. As you can imagine, rocking an enormous chest wasn’t only painful, but also debilitating when it came to winning matches. The tennis pro had a breast reduction and is now playing much better.

I’ll be the first to admit I haven’t played a Call Of Duty game in a couple of years. Somewhere around Black Ops II, when they started adding f*cking jetpacks and zombies the franchise got too ridiculous for me. Those jetpack things man, I hate em’. Anyway, a couple of months ago, news broke that the guys behind Call Of Duty would be rereleasing a remastered version of the best game in the franchise, the OG, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare. Activision is bringing Modern Warfare back with better graphics and a completely remastered gameplay code. To kids like me who grew up on COD4, this was akin to a video game dream.

The trailer for the remastered version dropped recently and it looks absolutely glorious. Hopefully, the sales of this version are through the roof, and it shows Activision that they need to ground their COD games back in reality.

Will Smith, while always as A-List as they come, is somewhat in the middle of a career renaissance. I mean, check out the movies he starred in from 2012 to 2014: Men In Black 3, After Earth, Anchorman 2, & Winter’s Tale. When a f*cking Men In Black movie is the strongest film in your recent run, you know something isn’t right. However, during the last two years, 2015 & 2016, Smith seems to be rebounding into the tidal wave of charisma that we all know and love, starring in Focus, Concussion and Suicide Squad. Focus was underrated, Concussion was a firmly solid, and in Suicide Squad, while the film was controversial, Smith was nearly universally praised.

Now, coming this December, right smack in the middle of award season, is Smith’s latest movie: Collateral Beauty. According to Vulture, in David Frankel’s Collateral Beauty, Will Smith plays an advertising executive who starts writing letters to the universe after a major tragedy — specifically the loss of a child. Then, in a stroke of whimsy, the universe gets back to him, sending Helen Mirren, Keira Knightley, and Jacob Latimore as the embodiments of Death, Love, and Time. Edward Norton, Kate Winslet, Naomie Harris, and Michael Peña also star as the embodiments of side characters.

With one of the most impressive casts of the year and Will Smith in the lead, look for Collateral Beauty to rack up the nominations come award season. Collateral Beauty premieres December 16, 2016, but I’m already crying.

It’s September, which means football is back, and a new iPhone will be announced. Apple’s iPhone 7 keynote starts at 10 A.M. PT, 1 P.M. ET, on Wednesday, September 7. The unveiling is scheduled to take place at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.

Apple is set to launch the next iPhone, the iPhone 7,  at the event. Many are expecting to see a new design, a high-end camera and iOS 10.

According to The Next Web, experts are expecting to see two models of the iPhone 7 running iOS 10 with dual cameras and up to 256GB storage, as well as support for Lightning EarPods in addition to a headphone jack. The high-end version might have a Smart Connector for accessories, and a second speaker grille to boot.  Apple is also expected to reveal the highly anticipated Apple Watch 2, which is rumored to have standalone GPS and a larger battery.
