The U.S. women’s field hockey team will kick off their 2016 Olympic campaign on Saturday, August 6 against Argentina. This will be their sixth appearance at the Summer Olympics, and they will be looking for their second medal. Their first medal came in their first ever appearance, as they won a bronze at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.

At least things can’t possibly get any worse for the U.S. after their 2012 debacle. At the 2012 Olympics in London, the U.S. came in 12th out of 12 teams. But since that disaster, they brought in Craig Parnham to coach the squad, which has lead to a tremendous improvement. They finished fourth at the 2014 World Cup, and they are currently ranked fifth in the world.

The U.S. qualified for the Olympics by winning the 2015 Pan American Games, and it’s obvious that things are looking up for the women in the red, white, and blue. Let’s do our part in wishing these ladies good luck in Rio by admiring some of their hottest photos.

Seth Rogen showed up on The Tonight Show last night, and that was a big show for Jimmy Fallon. Seth was actually bumped to the second slot by Jerry Seinfeld. That’s some clout. Seth still had to promote Sausage Party, though, and no comic is going to feel bad about coming in second to Jerry Seinfeld.

Also, we learned that Jerry Seinfeld doesn’t do the dopey kind of stuff that ends up on Youtube in a bid to go viral. Jerry just talked on the couch like it was 1989. Seth, however, knows the young man’s promotional game and came prepared for a Lip Sync Battle.

And, as a reminder that Seth is Canadian, he comes in (at 5:30 in this video) with a salute to the Olympics by honoring a fellow countryman by doing “Hotline Bling.” Not that Drake is an actual athlete. We just think anyone on NBC for the next few weeks is required to do some kind of Olympics tribute.

It’s still worth checking out — and be grateful that NBC didn’t compulsively insert six commercial breaks while Seth was doing his thing….

The first Olympic Men’s Basketball game tips off between two of the world’s powerhouses: Australia and France, both of whom are expected to make it out of the group stage. Since it’s pretty much a given that Team USA (also in Group A) will advance as the #1 seed out of their group, today’s game will be extremely important for the French and Australians if they want to be the #2 seed.

The French (Les Bleus) have an impressive starting lineup featuring Tony Parker, Nicolas Batum (who almost seems made for international basketball) and Rudy Gobert. They also have savvy veteran Boris Diaw, but it remains to be seen if he’ll start or if he’ll help lead the bench mob. Out of all those players, Rudy Gobert will probably have the biggest impact on the game–especially on the defensive end where he’ll likely be force under the rim. Also keep an eye on backup PG Nando De Colo, the Euroleague MVP in 2016.

Meanwhile, the Australian Boombers are coming in with a squad of their own. Andrew Bogut, Matthew Dellavadova, Patty Mills, and Aron Baynes are all NBA players who get big minutes. Bogut is really the only Australian big man they can rely on, but he’s recovering from a knee injury that should keep his minutes down.

Check out this crazy video of the rail collapsing at a Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa concert in Camden, New Jersey. Consequentially, 42 people were injured and some were taken to a hospital.

Camden police spokesman Dan Keashen said most of the injuries were broken bones, and bumps and bruises, according to NBC News. One person who was seriously injured was taken to the Cooper Trauma Center, and is listed as in critical but stable condition, NBC News reports citing Kaeshen.

Obviously, the concert at BB&T Pavilion abruptly ended after the rail collapse.

They say what goes up must go down, and fans at a Snoop and Wiz concert are certainly higher than most. But these fans never could have expected to come crashing down like that. Let’s hope everyone injured ends up being OK.

Mallory Pugh is a 18-year-old forward for the U.S. Olympic soccer team. Mallory is from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and she graduated from Mountain Vista High School. After her junior year as a Golden Eagle, Mallory was named Gatorade’s National Girls Soccer Player of the Year. Once Mallory fulfills her upcoming national team commitments, she will begin attending UCLA in January of 2017.

After playing on the United States U17 team from 2013-2014 and the U20 team from 2014-2015, Mallory got the call to the senior national squad in 2016. Since joining the team, she’s recorded three goals and seven assists in 15 caps.

When Conor McGregor briefly “retired”  from MMA prior to UFC 200, speculation that just maybe it wouldn’t be long before we saw the Irish megastar kicking arse in the WWE. McGregor had recently followed WWE head honcho Vince McMahon and other WWE brass on Twitter and is a deft showman, so WWE seemed like a natural progression if he was really done with fighting.

Alas, he’ll be back in action at UFC 202 and- unlike fellow UFC star “Rowdy” Ronda Rosey- apparently McGregor has no interest in working in WWE after all. When asked in a UFC 202 conference call about Brock Lesnar- the WWE behemoth and former UFC Heavyweight Champion whose return to UFC was marred by two failed drug tests- McGregor ripped pro wrestling’s biggest promotion.

“For the most part, those WWE guys are p*ssies, to be honest. They’re messed up p*ssies, if you ask me. Fair play to Brock, he got in and fought, but at the end of the day he was juiced up to the f*cking eye balls, so how can I respect that? And then what’s the other guy? The other guy hasn’t fought yet, so I don’t know about him yet.”

The “other guy” he is referring to is of course CM Punk, the former WWE Superstar who is making his long-awaited MMA debut at UFC 203.

While pro wrestling is obviously predetermined and not an actual combat sport, pro wrestling is still incredibly taxing on its performers bodies and comes with its own immense dangers so you’re going to have to think that the WWE locker room isn’t going to appreciate being put on blast by UFC’s biggest star. While nothing can compare to the absolute savagery that occurs in a UFC octagon, compared to 99.9% of the population pro wrestlers certainly are not pu***ies.

While it’s easy to interpret McGregor’s comments as meaning he’d never wrestle in WWE, there’s always the chance that he was simply cutting an epic heel promo and will run in and attack John Cena in a few years to set up a massive WrestleMania match. While that’s probably far-fetched, McGregor was sure to compliment the bosses at WWE even as he was disparaging the majority of its performers.

Krysten Ritter has busted out with a poster of her trying to break free for a new PETA campaign — and it’s not quite as naked as your usual PETA publicity stunt. We’re still happy to see Krysten doing the best kind of advocacy. The timing by PETA could be a little better, though. Most of us are concentrating on swimmers like Olivia Smoliga and Katie Ledecky right now.

The big message, incidentally, is that SeaWorld is bad and we should let the whales free like they did in that Star Trek movie that was set in San Francisco. We mean the one with Leonard Nimoy as Spock. That is, the one set in 1980s San Francisco, with Leonard Nimoy as Spock, plus the original Bones and Scotty before they died. This new reboot is making things confusing.

We’re not sure where we stand on this whole Orca thing. We once saw a movie called Orca where a whale bit off Bo Derek’s leg. If that’s the Orca in SeaWorld, then the creature should probably stay behind bars. We’ll do more research on that. For now, though, here’s even more of Krysten to admire. China and Team USA have already played basketball against each other twice in as many weeks leading up to the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics, but just because Kevin Durant and company won both games handily doesn’t mean that the game won’t be worth watching. DeMar DeRozan has proven that he’s intent on taking Vince Carter’s international slam dunk belt, and it’ll be interesting to see what kind of rotations Coach K likes to go with.

Meanwhile, China will use this game as test to see how they’ll advance out of Group A. We don’t expect them to go into the game looking for a win, but instead how they can improve going forward against teams like Australia, France, Serbia and Venezuela. If China has any hopes of making it past the preliminary group stage, they’ll need to stay healthy, rested, and sharp.

While the current edition of the Team USA basketball team might not be quite as talented as the 2008 and 2012 squads that were led by LeBron James and Kobe Bryant, they sure have been a lot more interesting off the court. First it was all the great videos from the team plane karaoke session, then Draymond Green’s NSFW mistake Snapchat post and Green getting ridiculed at practice by his teammates about it.

And now we get some more juicy nonsense, as TMZ Sports reported, a group that included DeMarcus Cousins, DeAndre Jordan, DeMar DeRozan were spotted grabbing a drink at a brothel, and then quickly left after they realized the establishment wasn’t a spa after all. Because if you’re going to beat every other Olympic team by 12 million points, you need to keep the public entertained with sketchy off-the-court stories.

So obviously it seems a bit far-fetched that a group of NBA players would “accidentally” enter a brothel thinking it was a legit spa. But that’s their story and they’re sticking to it.

As Yahoo’s Dan Wetzel hilariously writes in his column about the incident,

Sure, sure, sounds totally plausible. Who the heck was the “source” peddling that story? Draymond Green?

As Wetzel points out, the story seems even more dubious because Team USA has a spa in their private facility.

What seems more likely is that Team DeUSA wanted to check out a well-known Rio Brothel and then realized once they were there that it probably wasn’t a good look. After all, it wouldn’t be the first time DeAndre Jordan realized he was about to do something stupid only to quickly backtrack.

Kerri Walsh Jennings is a 37-year-old U.S. Olympic beach volleyball player. The Scotts Valley, California native is arguably the greatest beach volleyball player of all-time, as she boasts an otherworldly résumé. Kerri has won World Championships in 2003, 2005, and 2007, and she has won Olympic gold in 2004, 2008, and 2012. She also won a silver medal at the 2011 World Championships.

The Stanford University grad will be looking for her fourth straight gold medal in Rio, but this will most definitely be her toughest test yet. Kerri’s partner for her first three golds was Misty May-Treanor, who has since retired. For the 2016 Olympics, Kerri will be paired with April Ross, and the duo is currently ranked number two in the world.

Eminem has had myriad hits en route to becoming a rap God, but ‘Lose Yourself’ is the quintessential Marshall Mathers joint. From the goose bump inducing 30-second instrumental into to the immortal first lines “Look, if you had, one shot, or one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted, in one moment, would you capture it, or just let it slip,” and all the way through it’s impossible not to hear the 8 Mile track and not get hyped.

Which is why it makes total sense that President Obama would listen to it before delivering his monumental DNC speech in Philadelphia. Still, whatever you think about his politics, take a moment to reflect on how unreal it is to have a president who gets amped up by listening to legendary music that we grew up on. Samir Ait Said is a French gymnast who during the Olympics while landing a ridiculous flipping maneuver had his leg snap and contort in a horrifying way. It is an injury of the same ilk as the famously dreadful injuries of Shaun Livingston and Joe Theismann.

Getty had other pictures that showed the injury from a better angle, but those were just too graphic to put on Coed.com. If you’re thinking I’m overselling the injury, watch the video for yourself. But don’t say I didn’t adequately warn you.

Last week’s episode of Vice Principals was all about Neal Gamby (Danny McBride), as he went on a field trip strictly to try to hook up with Amanda Snodgrass (Georgia King). Or, as Lee Russell (Walton Goggins) hilariously described it, “try to get his little dick wet.”

To lend Gamby a helping hand, Russell gave him a binder overflowing with background information on Ms. Snodgrass. But obviously, Gamby is such a jerk that he wasn’t able to use this fountain of material to his advantage. His godawful attitude turned everybody against him on the trip, except for stage five clinger Ms. Abbott (Edi Patterson).

Gamby ended up sleeping with Ms. Abbott, which backfired in costly fashion. The morning after they got busy, Ms. Abbott found the incriminating file on Ms. Snodgrass. “The Field Trip” concluded with Ms. Abbott whispering something into Ms. Snodgrass’ ear on the bus ride back to school, making it seem that Gamby was busted for being a giant creep.

Leslie Jones was supposedly brought to the Olympics by NBC via executive producer Jim Bell, who Tweeted: “You’re officially invited to Rio. Want to come?” She got all excited, because Bell was obviously standing up to the evil misogynist Ghostbusters backlash.

But we’re not sure that Leslie really is in Rio. Judging from her Tweets so far, she’s watching at home and just joining us in our admiration of the female volleyball teams. The Pro Football Hall of Fame Game is an annual National Football League exhibition game that is held the weekend of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s induction ceremonies. The game is played at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, which is located next to the Hall of Fame building in Canton, Ohio. It is the first game in the NFL’s preseason, marking the end of the NFL’s six-month offseason. This season’s Hall of Fame Game will see Andrew Luck’s  Indianapolis Colts facing off against Aaron Rodger’s Green Bay Packers.

Brett Favre, Tony Dungy, Kevin Greene, Marvin Harrison, Orlando Pace, Eddie DeBartolo Jr., Ken Stabler and Dick Stanfel are among this year’s Hall of Fame inductees. The two teams that play in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game are typically selected by the league in advance of the remainder of the preseason schedule. Tony Dungy coached Marvin Harrison and the Indianapolis Colts to the Superbowl, and Brett Favre is, of course, a legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback.

Ballers is HBO’s most successful comedy in a decade. Not since Entourage has HBO aired a comedy this popular. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, though, because the Rock is a living cheat code for awesomeness. It’s essentially a sports version of Entourage starring The Rock, so it’s success was virtually built in. The second season premiered on July 17, and is made up of 10, 30-minute episodes.

Ballers tells the story of Spencer Strasmore. According to the Ballers website, Ballers is the story of Spencer Strasmore, a retired NFL star, as he tries to find the same success as a financial manager for current players in sun-splashed Miami. Heeding his boss Joe’s instruction to “monetize his friendships,” Spencer builds a client base of young phenoms and veteran stars alike, but his role in their lives far exceeds money management as he struggles to help them navigate the many traps that come with life as big-time “ballers.”

Ballers stars Johnson as Spencer Strasmore, a retired NFL player turned financial manager, Rob Corddry as Joe Krutel, a financial advisor at Anderson Financial who tries hard to fit in, John David Washington as Ricky Jerret, a highly competitive and spiritual NFL player, Omar Miller as Charles Greane, an affable former NFL player who is searching for his next career, and Andy Garcia, who’s character has been described as a “top dog” in the business, and is a rival financial advisor.

In last week’s episode of Vice Principals, our dynamic duo was separated for almost the whole show. The episode focused on Neal Gamby (Danny McBride) going on a field trip, so he could try to put the moves on Amanda Snodgrass (Georgia King). Or, as Lee Russell (Walton Goggins) so eloquently put it, “try to get his little dick wet.”

To help out Gamby, Russell let him borrow his binder of background info on Ms. Snodgrass. Unsurprisingly, knowing all of her life’s details didn’t do Gamby a lick of good, as he managed to screw everything up. His surly attitude turned everybody against him on the trip, except for colossal weirdo Ms. Abbott (Edi Patterson).

Gamby ended up sleeping with Ms. Abbott, and she found the incriminating binder the next morning. The episode concluded with Ms. Abbott whispering something into Ms. Snodgrass’ ear on the bus ride back to school, and it seems that Gamby is busted for being a total creep.

Dutch women’s cyclist Annemiek van Vleuten was closing in on an Olympic Gold medal when in an instant everything changed. With six miles remaining in the 87.6 mile race, van Vleuten had a significant lead when she suffered a massive wipeout after slipping while going down a hill.

She remained motionless for a while after the scary crash but the Dutch cycling federation have since said that she is okay.

Anna van der Breggen was able to capitalize on her fellow Dutch rider’s misfortune and win the gold medal in the event.

You have to feel bad for van Vleuten. Usually cyclists have their falls from grace after the race is over and the drug tests come out, not literal ones off their bikes.
