Sony brought back the Walkman last year for the price of $300, so why is this dedicated music player so much more expensive? It has nothing to do with the sleek look, instead it boasts 128GB onboard storage, a microSD slot, and a touchscreen display.

Kube

Kube is a portable speaker and cooler that can play music at 100 decibels and hold enough drinks for you to think that’s not loud.

Sure, it’s price makes it well out of our range (we’re still big fans of our Corona cooler) but the fact remains that this is the ultimate pool party, boat party accessory. It holds 33-quarts (which can fit about 48 cans) and weighs in at only 20 pounds.

Samsung Galaxy TabPro

Price: $400-$600 | Availability: March 2015

We’re big fans of Samsung’s line of tablets, so it should come as no surprise that we’re really excited about the idea of a TabPro.

The TabPro introduces a new operating system known as MagazineUX which turns things into a more Windows 8-type feel. So while users might initially miss the old way of navigating around, it’s a safe bet that you’ll quickly learn how to get around the TabPro.

As far as specs are concerned here’s what we know:

• 12.2-inch version includes 3GB of RAM.

• The 10.1-inch and 8.4-inch include only 2GB of RAM.

Football fans aren’t our country’s best foot forward when it comes to our international appearance. These are the guys skipping church on Sundays, wearing oversized shirts with numbers on them, throwing snowballs at Santa Claus, and in some cases beating the absolute piss out of each other. There’s nothing like kicking off thew new year in gaming with a little soft-core nudity. Two oddball Japanese games — Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed, as well as Senran Kagura: Bon Apetit — provide just that. The former blends the arts of stripping and zombie slaughtering, while the latter somehow manages to blend the intrigue of cooking competitions with scantily dressed beauties. If you’re in the mood for something that draws its sex appeal from raw speed rather than nudity, MXGP: The Official Motocross Videogame is more your speed.

Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed

(PS4, PS3, Vita, $50, Mature)

A game that gives a warm, sloppy hug to all that the initials “WTF” represent, Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed mixes street brawling with stripping. Straight-faced non-player characters inform you that you need to take down your enemies by hitting them until their clothes fall off, exposing their vulnerable flesh to sunlight. This “makes sense” in the world of the game because the enemies are nocturnal vampires and zombies that are vulnerable when drawn into brightness. You humiliate and degrade your enemies by mutilating their clothing, trying not to roll your eyes at the absurdity of it all.

While the combat mechanics are slow and sloppy, there’s enough humor in the game to keep the strange story interesting. Once you get acclimated to the clunky rhythms of the battlfield and finicky hit detection, it’s easier to fall for the game’s quirky charms. On the other hand, the gimmick tends to wear thin, turning the game into more of a repetitive drag once you’re no longer shocked or intrigued by the freakish premise. If you’ve got a free weekend and find yourself intrigued, this is probably one to consider renting rather than buying.

MXGP: The Official Motocross Videogame

(PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, $50, Everyone)

There is no shortage of car racing games on the market, but surprisingly few that let you race around bumpy dirt tracks on bikes. MXGP fixes that shortcoming by going all-in to nail realistic details of the motocross circuit, rounding up 60 riders, 60 bikes and 14 tracks to let you kick up the mud and execute jumps amid the roar of the crowd. The PS4 version shifts the graphics and framerate to a higher gear, making for one of the more exciting racers available on the console.

Although the game is excellent at nailing the sense of raw speed, it struggles to get a handle on the high-stakes risk of the competition. During bump-and-grind races, you find yourself colliding with racers without hitting them. Since you can slam on the gas without worrying much that you’ll be knocked off by opponents, you don’t need to use much strategy or care as you choose your lines and execute your turns. At least the lack of risk streamlines the gameplay, making races go smoothly rather than jumble up into piles of bodies and twisted metal.

Senran Kagura: Bon Apetit

(Vita, $50, Mature)

The Senran Kagura series has carved out its niche as a flesh-flashing brawler, following the exploits of a cast of buxom ninja beauties. In this spin-off, brawling gives way to a cooking competition. In a mixture of Cooking Mama and Elite Beat Agents, you put together ingredients to make dishes by matching onscreen prompts with button taps. All the while, characters react to your success or failure with suggestive poses showing joy or despair.

Look past the short skirts, tiny bikinis and whipped cream panties and you’ll find the structure of a solid, addictive rhythm game, and yet another Vita exclusive that separates Sony’s handheld from the more demure DS. The visuals are as much of a drawback as a plus, though. Definitely not one for the easily ashamed to play in public, Bon Apetit is packed with brief, invigorating challenges that suit it for quick, on-the-go gameplay.

If you’re an NBA fan, by now you’ve heard of the trade that solidifies the Knicks as a team so sh*tty that even The Omniprocessor can’t handle it. They are 5-32.

The three-way trade between OKC, Cleveland, and the NYK sends Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith to the Cavaliers, Dion Waiters to the Thunder, and gives the Knicks some must-needed cap room.

That being said, we’re losing Iman Shumpert arguably the one guy who actually seemed to give a f*ck when he’s out on the court. Iman Shumpert took to Facebook to thank his fans.

COED’s favorite fitness model / Shredz athlete Paige Hathaway is having fun in Thailand with wing-girl Arianny Celeste over the holiday.  The pair have been running around the Thai islands doing everything from hanging out on the beach with monkeys, to go-karting Talladega Nights style, to just looking hot by the pool.  But our favorite moment (and obviously this elephant’s as well), was watching one lucky elephant trunk-smack Paige’s beautiful backside. One lucky elephant.

Here’s the first Ant-Man trailer, as seen on the debut episode of Marvel’s Agent Carter–which we watched for Hayley Atwell, but this is pretty cool, too. We’re not surprised by the tone of the movie, either. Ant-Man was always treated as kind of a joke in the Marvel Universe. Well, the original character turned out to be an interesting guy, since scientist Hank Pym later went schizo and tried to kill all of the Avengers.

That was after Pym faked his own death at the hands of a cooler version of his own character named Yellowjacket. It’s complicated. The important thing is that Marvel Studios knew it had a challenge in making a movie out of a superhero who shrinks to the size of an ant and also has ants for friends. Furthermore, he can ride on a wasp.

That’s why we’re getting Paul Rudd as cool criminal Scott Lang, who becomes a reluctant superhero when Michael Douglas (as Hank Pym) hands over the Ant-Man costume to the essentially nice guy. Casting an actor like Rudd means that Ant-Man is going to have a sense of humor about itself–as seen by this trailer’s closing line. Check it out, and then get back to watching Hayley Atwell. She’s supposed to be in Ant-Man, too…

Monica Puig is one of tennis’ hottest sensations, and the 21-year-old star is also one of the hottest talents to ever come out of Puerto Rico. Tennis is a tough game, though, and Monica Puig learned that during the first round of the ASB Classic, as she lost to longtime doubles partner Marina Erakovic in the first round of the ASB Classic.  [photo via…]

Puig still put on an impressive display. Marina had to do some serious rallying to come back–and it was probably a very respectful match, considering that Monica and Maria had already won as a doubles team just the day before. We’re still okay in admitting that we were rooting for Monica–who’s always had a top position in our own women’s tennis rankings. That puts her up there with  stunning players like Anna Kournikova,  Elena Vesnina, Mandy Minella, Genie Bouchard, and even Alexandra Daddario.

We’re pretty sure that Monica Puig will keep having a good 2015, too. She’s still fresh off winning the WTA Rising Stars Invitational in Singapore. Check out these pics, and see why Monica sure looks like a winner to us…

Hot on the heels of the big Coachella lineup announcement, the 2015 Governor’s Ball lineup was released this morning with a video.

The weekend long festival will once again be held on Randall’s Island Park in New York City, and boasts an impressive collection of musicians–some of whom will also be playing Coachella.

Obviously the big names that jump out here are the headliners: Drake, The Black Keys, Deadmau5, Florence and the Machine. Both Drizzy and Flo are playing Coachella, so those of you not able to make it out to Coachella Valley have something to celebrate closer to home.

Personally, we’re most looking forward to seeing the Black Keys, Chromeo, Rudimental, People Under the Stairs and Mayer Hawthorne, but there’s something for everyone.

Governor’s Ball Dates

Unlike a few other festivals, Governor’s Ball only takes place over the course of one weekend. This year, it’s going to be during June 5th-7th.

Tickets go on sale this Friday (January 9th, 2015) at 12 PM EST. General Admission tickets are going to run you about $300 at the end of the day ($260 for the ticket, $15 for shipping, and $25 for a “fee”). Alternatively, you could spend $2,000 on a Super VIP ticket.

The University of Pikeville, a small Kentucky college made headlines this week when they announced that they’d be joining Robert Morris University in offering video games as a varsity sport. The school will be offering 20 scholarships to students this fall to those who are talented League of Legends players.

League of Legends is no joke when it comes to competitive online gaming, often referred to as eSports. And while UPike’s media director explained that the recruitment process would “involve going to local high schools, playing practice matches with students, and collecting information on candidates’ ratings and toxicity reports,” we can’t help but think this is an attempt to draw in international students to their school. LoL has an absolutely massive following in Asia and abroad, and some of the world’s top teams hail from the East.

It’s a really smart play, as the school has very little to lose and a lot to gain. They’re only the second school to offer eSports scholarships. Whether you agree with it or not, the fact of the matter is that eSports are growing very quickly, and a school like UPike has a real opportunity to be on the forefront.

The Pikeville Bears (the team name) will be entering the Collegiate Star League (CSL), an intercollegiate gaming league open to all accredited colleges and universities in North America. They will have one team competing in the CSL Division 1, and three teams competing in Division 2. Since the LoL games are 5-on-5, that accounts for the 20 scholarships.

The LA Galaxy announced this morning that they’ve signed England midfielder Steven Gerrard from Liverpool FC. He will be their third Designated Player.

Gerrard has lived in Liverpool his entire life, so he’s hoping that the adjustment won’t be too hard. The Galaxy are hoping that too, because they’re currently searching for their 5th MLS cup–a first in MLS history.

The deal is set to last for 18 months and couldn’t come at a better time for the Galaxy, having just lost captain Landon Donovan to retirement.

In today’s “The Super Bowl Is So Close We Can Taste It” news, Anheuser-Busch has announced its lineup of Super Bowl commercials. There will be two Budweiser commercials and one awesome “Up For Whatever” Bud Light commercial.

Details are still pretty secret at this time, but here’s what we do know.

• One Budweiser commercial will introduce the King of Beers to a new generation.

• Budweiser will follow-up their extremely popular “Lost Dog” commercial featuring the Budweiser Clydesdales.

• The Bud Light commercial will be an extension of their “Perfect Beer for Whatever Happens” campaign. And we can tell you that it takes place inside of a life-sized PacMan maze.

Legendary WCW / WWF Manager Jimmy Hart was in the house for USF’s 80s Night-themed basketball game Tuesday vs. the UCONN Huskies.  The “Mouth of the South” had his trademark megaphone in hand while announcing the starting lineups.  As always, he was looking slick and stylish, sporting his iconic heart-covered white blazer.  But the real show stoppers were the scantily clad USF Sundolls cheerleaders in retro costumes.

FSU QB Jameis Winston has officially declared for the 2015 NFL Draft, giving up the rest of his college eligibility. That means he’ll be missing the FSU baseball season this spring. [lead image via Getty Sports / Jeff Gross]

Here’s his official statement from The Legacy Agency, the agency that’s signed him, on his behalf. Seeing as how the grammar is perfect and spelling is on point, we’re guessing he didn’t write it:

“After weighing this decision with my family and friends, I have decided to declare for the 2015 NFL draft and forgo my remaining eligibility at Florida State. I reached this very difficult decision after careful consideration and long thought, realizing how difficult it would be to say goodbye to my family at Florida State. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to wear the garnet and gold and have greatly enjoyed my time as a Seminole, both as an athlete and a student in the classroom.

I will always take pride in leading our team back to national prominence and am confident that my returning teammates will continue the success for many years to come.

To the fans, I can’t thank you enough for the support you showed me and the team over the last three seasons; it was a humbling experience to bring the Championship back to Tallahassee for you all to enjoy.

According to Tinker Hatfield, the designer of the Nike Air MAG’s featured on the feet of Marty McFly in Back to the Future Part 2, 2015 is officially going be the year we see these shoes in real life–complete with power laces.

Tinker made the announcement at #AgendaEmerge on Monday night.

Some of you might recall that back in 2011, Nike released a very-limited edition of the sneakers but they were missing the important power lace component. Yes, Kanye West owns a pair.

Thankfully, the 2015 editions will feature the power laces and website NiceKicks has actually dug up the “Power Lace” patent papers on how exactly they’ll work.
