The internet is spilling with people’s opinions on this issue, but some took it too far such as calling the three women “lying skanks”.

What Happened?

Kevin Jackson a Fox 5 news contributor, was terminated on Thursday, September 28, 2018, after going on a tirade towards women who accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault.
Jackson wrote,

“Feminists are their own worst enemies, and enemy of women, Also, they want men to NEVER be believed. I’m not succumbing,” he tweeted. “TO HELL with the notion that women must be believed no matter what. Lying skanks is what these 3 women are, and we ALL know more.”

Fox 5 shortly came out with a response to that tweet.

“Kevin Jackson has been terminated as a contributor. His comments on today’s hearings were reprehensible and do not reflect the values of Fox News,” a spokeswoman said in a statement.

The three women his remarks were for are Christine Blasey Ford, Deborah Ramirez, and Julie Swetnick, the three chief accusers that are at the epicenter of the Senate Judiciary Hearing.

Even after Jackson’s termination, his rantings did not stop but rather intensified.

The accusations followed when The Senate Judiciary Committee scheduled three or four days of public hearings on Kavanaugh’s nomination. On September 16, 2018, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, a professor at Palo Alto University, claimed Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted her when she was 15 at a party.

Jacob deGrom, born June 19th, 1988, is an MLB pitcher currently in the New York Mets organization. deGrom has been in the Mets organization since they drafted him out of Stetson University in the 2010 MLB Draft. deGrom will finish the 2018 MLB season with the lowest ERA in the MLB and as the favorite to win the National League Cy Young award.

Ingham County Jail

Rachele Johnson, a 26-year-old counselor at the House of Commons — a state-run substance abuse treatment center in Michigan — has been sentenced to five years probation, avoiding prison time.

According to reports, while working as a counselor at the House of Commons, Johnson had sex with two men who were living at the court-mandated drug treatment center.

While the two men said they were not Johnson’s victims, Ingham County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Lisa McCormick said that Johnson’s employment as a Community Mental Health Authority legally means that these men would not have been able to consent to sex.

Johnson — who was sentenced to five years of probation on Tuesday, September 25 — pled guilty to two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, furnishing a cell phone to a prisoner, and misconduct in office. Six charges of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, harboring escapees and providing contraband in prison were dismissed by the judge.

Additionally, Johnson is required to attend therapy and register as a sex offender.

Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Joyce Draganchuk said there was no evidence that Johnson used her authority status to coerce the men into sex. She also praised Johnson for taking the initiative to go to therapy to sort out her mental health.

However, Draganchuk said Johnson’s actions harm the overall treatment structure and makes those living there feel like it’s not a legitimate place. While working at the House of Commons, Johnson provided the men with cell phones and allowed them to leave to purchase alcohol, one of the men she assaulted testified at the preliminary hearing.

He described their relationship as “flirty,” and said he would go into the property room with Johnson, where there were no cameras. He testified that Johnson made up a phony doctors appointment so they could be together outside of the house.

House of Commons, located in Mason, Michigan, was formed initially formed in 1964 as a federally funded community mental health center. During the 1970s, CMH (Community Mental Health Board of Clinton-Eaton-Ingham Counties) also added substance abuse services to the range of services offered.

Lousiana State University basketball player Wayde Sims was shot and killed near Southern University’s campus on Friday, September 28.

“We are all devastated,” LSU coach Will Wade said via a statement. “We need your prayers for Wayde, for his family, for all of us. We are heartbroken.”

What Happened?

According to Vibe, Baton Rouge Police Department believe that the shooting that killed Sims took place approximately at 12:25 A.M. Friday on a street south of Southern University’s campus at a Subway restaurant.

After being shot, Sims was taken to the hospital and shortly after being admitted, he succumbed to his injuries and died.

The university announced Friday morning that counselors would be available to students, teammates, and friends who are affected by his loss.

“We are stunned and shaken,” LSU President F. King Alexander said. “To say we are grief-stricken is an understatement. Wayde was a beloved member of the LSU community whose leadership was treasured by his coach and his teammates. I knew him personally and liked him tremendously. The void left by his passing will be immense, and we ask that you keep his family in your prayers.”

The investigation into the murder of the kinesiology student is still ongoing and no formal arrests have been made at this time.

Who Is Wayde Sims?

Sims is a 20-year-old junior student at Lousiana State University. The basketball star, a 6-foot-6 forward, a averaged 5-6 points with 2.9 rebounds in 32 games last season. He was the Lousiana 2014-15 Gatorade Player of the Year after leading University Lab High in Baton Rouge o three consecutive state titles from 2014 to 2016, according to ESPN.

His father, Wayne Sims, was also a basketball player at LSU from 1987 to 1991.

“Wayde Sims’ loss is simply unbelievable to us right now,” said vice chancellor and Athletics Director Joe Alleva. “There are no words that can express our sorrow for his parents and family. He was such a lovable young man who was full of joy. We are circling around his teammates and friends who need all the love and support we can give them. We are praying for his family, for his parents. God bless Wayde Sims.”

LSU teammate Aaron Epps shared his thoughts about Sims on Twitter early Friday morning.

According to the LSU website, a press conference is scheduled for 10 A.M. CT on Friday at the basketball media room. There are no available details regarding memorial services. LSU asks for patience and privacy for the family in this regard.

Allen, who famously voices Buzz in the Toy Story franchise, was appearing on the CBS daytime program The Talk on Wednesday, September, 26, when he began discussing Toy Story 4, specifically how emotional it is.

“Yes, I gotta resist getting emotional. I don’t want to give it away, but this is an incredibly great story,” he said. “…It is so emotional, it’s so funny, it’s so big, the idea they’ve come up with, I’m startled,” Allen said.

“I couldn’t even get through the last scene. I would love to be a Washington leaker. I just can’t do it. I can’t give any more away. They’ve got great characters but a couple of scenes toward the end were really hard to get through.”

Apple has won an appeal of a patent infringement case originally brought by the University of Wisconsin-Madison filed back in 2015, according to a report from the Reuters news service. The court ruling said that Apple didn’t infringe on one of the university’s patents, which had overturned a prior ruling in the university’s favor that had fined Apple $234 million.

The report says a federal appellate court in Washington, D.C., has thrown out at least a portion of the $506 million in damages originally awarded to UW in the case.

What Happened?

“The Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) originally sued Apple over the issue in January 2014, saying that Apple infringed on its 1998 patent that handed improving chip efficiency.
Apple has argued that it did not infringe on the patent and also that the patent is invalid to begin with. The company asked the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to review the validity of the patent, but its request was denied at the time.

Apple was originally facing a bill as high as $862 million for infringement of the patent in 2015. A jury subsequently awarded a lower sum of $234 million after the judge ruled that Apple’s infringement was inadvertent rather than willful, according to 9TO5Mac.

In July 2017, U.S. District Judge William Conley in Madison, Wisconsin ordered Apple to pay another $272 million of damages, for a total of $506 million, based on its continued infringement through the Dec. 2016 expiration of WARF’s patent.

Apple insisted that the judgment against it was “fraught with error” in 2017. It argued that the patent should never have been granted in the first place and that the calculation of the damages would have been wrong in the event of a valid claim.

As The Verge reported, a court said on Friday, September 28 that “no reasonable juror” could have found infringement, which met the standard needed to overturn a jury ruling. The court also said that Apple had to win the case “as a matter of law.”

The Alpha Delta Pi sorority at Louisiana State University hosted the Stop the Hazing “Fly High Max” basketball tournament on the night of Wednesday, September 26, to raise money for the Max Gruver foundation.

Max Gruver — an 18-year-old from Roswell, Georgia, who was majoring in political journalism — was a Louisana State University pledge who died Thursday, September 14, as a result of alcohol-related hazing. Following his untimely death, an autopsy showed that Gruver had a blood alcohol level of more than six times the legal limit.

Now, over a year after Gruver’s death, over 150 chapters of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority across the country partnered with Gruver’s parents to create awareness about their anti-hazing foundation.

The fundraiser came the same week that Louisiana prosecution said that Matthew Naquin — a former Phi Delta Theta member who has been indicted in the 2017 hazing death of Gruver — was “vocal” about his disdain for Gruver, going as far as to tear up a “snap bid” which designated the 18-year-old as a new pledge of the fraternity on Bid Day.

“It means a lot that we can host this event that directly benefits the Max Gruver Foundation but also promotes awareness and creates positivity surrounding this difficult topic,” said Hannah Tonry, president of the LSU Alpha Delta Pi chapter.

The Max Gruver Foundation is a non-profit organization working to end hazing on college campuses. The foundation and the funds it raises will be directed towards ensuring hazing has no place on college campuses.

Earlier in September, two former LSU students pleaded no contest Thursday to misdemeanor hazing, while Naquin is scheduled to go to trial for negligent homicide in July 2019. Additionally, a fourth former LSU student charged with hazing, Patrick Andrew Forde, has pledged his cooperation and truthful testimony at the trial.

Furthermore, as a result of Gruver’s death, Phi Delta Theta has been banned from LSU’s campus until at least 2033.

The Penn State fans and their whiteout should create an electric environment inside Beaver Stadium. These two teams are always towards the top of the Big Ten and their rivalry gets stronger every season. According to OddsShark, Ohio State is a 3.5 point favorite against the Nittany Lions. The current over/under total is set at 69.5 for these two high octane offenses. Ohio State being favored by over a field goal going into a hostile environment in Happy Valley is very interesting.

Obviously, these two offenses that are both averaging over 50 points a game are going to score a bunch, but they are both facing their toughest opponents so far. I think the intensity of this game will benefit the defenses and the offenses may come out nervous to start.

Both of these quarterbacks are going to put on a show Saturday night and this game should live up to last week’s College GameDay stop. I think the home field advantage will end up making the difference in this one.

The oldest show on this list, I Love Lucy is a classic that deserves to be on every top ten list. The comedic styles of Lucille Ball made us all fall in love with Lucy. Because of the success of the show, there were many other spin-offs of the show, but none were as good as the original. I Love Lucy, will forever be a hilarious classic everyone will always enjoy.

Saturday Night Live

Talk about a show that has been on for many years. Saturday Night Live is currently on its 44^th season, the late-night comedy sketch show continues to create new bits’ no one can not laugh at. It’s a show that was and still is the first step of bringing up star quality comedians like Will Farrell, Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon, Kate McKinnon, Eddie Murphy, and so much more. There is never a person season of SNL, there is always an opportunity for mistakes, but that’s what you get with a live late-night show.

The Sopranos

A drama series that allowed for a new era of serialized television. With six seasons of drama filled episodes living you at the edge of your seat, you wished you could have more. With actors and actresses with incredibly emotional performances, the show grew and grew with every season. There were some mixed reviews on some episodes, but the creators left it up to the audience whether they made a good or bad episode.

Seinfeld

Probably one of those shows that are quickly forgotten but easily remembered. The show was a lot about nothing, yet it’s a classic. Seinfeld shows the truth about how weird people can be in the real world. The shows run was a great one. However, Jerry Seinfeld chose to end the show before it went through its prime time. It was one of those shows people would watch for a good laugh but then stop an episode wondering what that episode was about. But, that was the great thing about Seinfeld, it didn’t matter what the episode was about, just as long as you laughed.

Game of Thrones

Of course, Dragons were going to make a list. Who wouldn’t love a show about the battle between thrones that brings our childhood fantasies of princesses, kings, pirates, dragons, and so many other creatures to life? We must thank the original book series for the excellent TV show. With so many conflicts and violence, fantasy and regal politics, and the large amount of sex, Game of Thrones is a fantastic show that deserves to stay on the air. Unfortunately, the next season is their last, so hopefully, it’s their best one. Let’s just hope we won’t die internally, with any significant character deaths.

The X-Files

This was definitely one of those shows you watched and were left screaming at the screen. With an engaging storyline, incredible characters, and a slightly annoying back and forth of the characters Mulder and Scully for the entire series. It had something for everyone. Who doesn’t love alien conspiracies made into a TV series? Unfortunately, the series slowed in later seasons and caused its end at the beginning of 2018.

Breaking Bad

Who said a show about making meth would be one of the most well-made series of all time? Each episode had a story, one that always took a dark turn and kept you on your toes. It took Bryan Cranston, once a sitcom actor, and made him into a dark, dramatic antihero. Thought with its dark storyline, it left for some black humor that kept the show running for so long. Hopefully, we don’t see any high school teachers in an RV cooking meth for profit.

Friends

Who knew six New York City friends could end up giving NBC the greatest comedy stardom in its time. Thanks to the TV show Friends, NBC grew in comedy. With the mixture of silly and serious content, audience members were able to relate to each and every character. Even if it wasn’t the six main stars, there was some relatable feeling of each actor and actress who performed. Some may not say Friends is a great show, but for so many Friends is the most excellent show of all time.

After a busy summer, Kanye West is set to return with yet another album, titled “Yandhi.” After teasing his new album, which will be his second solo album of the year, Kanye announced on Thursday, Sept. 27 that his album has been bumped back. It was initially set to be released on Friday, Sept. 28, but out of respect to an upcoming album from fellow hip hop star Lil Wayne, Kanye bumped his album back by 24 hours.

As a result, the new Kanye album will be released on the same day that he appears yet again on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.

Typically, albums are released between midnight and 3:00 a.m. ET. However, with Kanye set to appear on Saturday Night Live, it is possible that the release of the full album will be delayed until he performs late-night on NBC.

A tracklist for “Yandhi” has yet to be released, but it is believed there could be some collaborations with hip hop stars like Chance the Rapper, Lil Pump, Young Thug, Tekashi 6ix9inine and more. The album will be released in connection with Kanye West’s appearance on Saturday Night Live on the day of his album release.

Following the North-American Interfraternity Conference’s decision to ban hard liquor at fraternity houses beginning by September 19, University of Minnesota fraternities have decided to comply to the rule a year early by banning alcohol on Sunday, October 30.

According to a report from the Minnesota Daily, the University of Minnesota Interfraternity Council implemented the ban after the North-American Interfraternity Conference originally announced the rule change on September 4.

Earlier in September, the NIC announced that alcohol with over 15 percent alcohol by volume would be banned at member fraternity houses and chapter events.

Despite not being required to make the change until September 2019, the University of Minnesota IFC decided on Sunday, September 30, to jumpstart the process.

Following the IFC’s decision, Minnesota fraternity chapters have until October 31 to amend their chapter bylaws to reflect the new policy.

“It’s in effect now, and all chapters are expected to enforce it as of today,” said Quinn Roessler, president of the University’s FarmHouse Fraternity.

University fraternity chapters have until Oct. 31 to amend their chapter bylaws to reflect the new policy, although the policy is already in effect campus-wide.

Roessler said the implementation and enforcement of the ban will be decided by each individual fraternity, and the IFC is still currently undecided on how enforcement will take place.

“Nearly all hazing and over-consumption deaths in the past two years have involved students consuming high-percentage alcohol beverages,” the NIC said on its website as to why the ban is being established. “The [NIC] felt it was critically important to act with one voice to effectively implement an industry-wide standard.”

This is the latest major fraternity or sorority lawsuit, investigation, suspension, closure, or rules overhaul in the last year, as schools such as Indiana University, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State, and Penn State have all suspended fraternities in the wake of hazing and alcohol deaths.

These reports come amidst similar allegations that have been made against fraternities nationwide, including Sigma Alpha Epsilon at East Carolina University, who was shut down for hazing and the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter at the University of Arkansas which has been accused of taking sexually explicit photographs of women without their permission.

In response to incidents like these, fraternities such Phi Kappa Psi have made numerous changes to their code of conduct in an effort to address the issues that have arisen. In addition, schools such as Texas State, West Virginia University, and Penn State University have introduced new Greek Life rules to try and prevent these problems.

North-American Interfraternity Conference Votes To Ban Hard Liquor

New York state authorities are currently searching for 42-year-old Joshua Stuart, who is suspected of opening fire at Ellenville Regional Hospital in Ellenville, New York.

The shooting happened on Friday, September 28, around 1 a.m. EST and no injuries were reported during the shooting. Furthermore, the Ellenville Regional Hospital said that the shooting occurred in the emergency room and involved a patient.

According to a Facebook post from the New York State Police, Stuart fled the hospital in a white Dodge Ram 1500. Later, Stuart’s Dodge Ram 1500 was found by Department of Environmental Protection Police officers in Napanoch, New York.

Authorities said that when Department of Environmental Protection Police officers confronted the male person near the car, the man — presumably Stuart — open-fired on them with a semiautomatic weapon before running into the nearby woods.

The New York State Police is investigating a shooting that occurred at the Ellenville Regional Hospital on September 28, 2018 at approximately 1:00 a.m. No one was injured in this incident. The suspect is Joshua Stuart, age 42. Joshua Stuart is 5 feet 8 inches and approximately 155 pounds. He was last seen wearing jeans white sneakers, a hospital gown and a black coat with white stripes. Joshua Stuart fled the scene after the shooting in a white Dodge Ram 1500.

Stuart’s vehicle was later discovered by Department of Environmental Protection Police (DEP) in the vicinity of Cutler and Lundy Rd in Napanoch, NY DEP Police confronted a male subject near the vehicle and the male subject discharged 4 to 5 shots from an unknown type semiautomatic pistol at police. The male subject fled into the woods.

Joshua Stuart is believed to be in possession of a semi-automatic pistol and extremely dangerous. If anyone sees an individual matching Joshua Stuart’s description, they are asked to contact State Police Middletown at 845-344-5300.

At the time of this writing, police believe Stuart was last seen in Sunset Park or Flatbush in Brooklyn, New York, and urge anyone with information about Stuart or his whereabouts to contact authorities immediately.

Authorities say that Stuart — who is described as being 5’8″ tall and about 155 pounds and was last seen wearing jeans, white sneakers, a hospital gown and a black coat with white stripes — is in “possession of a semi-automatic pistol and extremely dangerous.”

Police say anyone with information should contact 911 or State Police Middletown at (845) 344-5300.

Orlando Police Department units responded to the scene at the Orange Regional Medical Center in response to a male subject who is claiming to be in possession of a weapon. Crisis negotiators are on the scene.

UPDATE (8:45 a.m. EST):

An unidentified man was killed by three Orlando Police officers at the Orlando Regional Medical Center after telling staff hospital staff that he had a gun and would “shoot anyone who came near him.”

According to Chief John Mina, the suspect was shot after making a movement toward his waistband. Additionally, Mina said that the 35-year-old man was not armed.

At this time, police say that the situation is contained but ongoing. No injuries have been reported.

The OPD active calls list describes the incident as “threats/assault.’’

WESH reporter Hadas Brown tweeted that she spoke to two people who were inside the hospital who said that they heard officers telling a man to show his hands, but he wasn’t complying.

The hospital announced on Twitter that the ORMC is continuing operations as only the emergency department is on lockdown.

Early reports indicated there were as many as 15 police cards at the scene.

Access to portions of the hospital was blocked off while police investigated. Police are currently asking civilians to avoid the area.

Dunkin Donuts may be a smaller coffee chain compared to Starbucks However, most people don’t see Dunkin Donuts as a coffee shop and instead of a donut shop. As Dunkin Donuts has grown, they have expanded their food to attract costumers after breakfast hours. Not only have they created many breakfast options for donuts, muffins, egg sandwiches, but they have also added other sandwiches for lunch and possibly dinner. Dunkin Donuts has also created an interior design that separates them from Starbucks, looking more like a fast food chain.

Starbucks, looking more like a casual coffee shop that offers typical coffee drinks and a nice layout that welcomes people to have meetings, finish work, and simply relax. And, like every other coffee shop or bakery, Starbucks offers mass amounts of pastries and meal items, while also providing small snacks. With the quality taste and atmosphere, there is a flaw in Starbucks that does give Dunkin Donuts a higher rating. Starbucks is higher priced than Dunkin Donuts, but it’s the costumer’s choice to listen to their taste buds or their wallet.

Now that you all have gotten a quick summary of the differences between Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks, we must actually come to a decision. And, from the number of stores opened, money made, and the number of customers, Starbucks is the clear winner. Here are our thoughts on why Starbucks is the winner. Not only does Starbucks have thousands of international stores open but they plan to open 3,400 stores in the U.S. by 2021. In 2017, Starbucks made $22 billion while Dunkin Donuts made $860 million.

Forgetting about the numbers, it’s all about quality. We mentioned this before that, yes, Starbucks is more expensive, but the food is better, and the drinks are better. Dunkin Donuts is famous for its donuts, but their coffees are known to be filled with sugar. There is no coffee rush when drinking Dunkin Donuts, it’s a sugar rush that keeps you awake. However, instead of feeling good and awake you crash after three hours and complain about your stomach feeling queasy. Starbucks offers more drinks and secret options that you can create yourself while providing the right amount of coffee and sugar. At this point, we would like you to choose your taste buds than your wallet. Your wallet would be angry if you didn’t select Starbucks.

Now here is the most significant point that allows Starbucks to take home the trophy. Costumer service. Like every fast food chain or most, Dunkin Donuts only want you to order and buy food. They get annoyed when you come back and tell them they got your order wrong. Starbucks does one of two things. If they get your order wrong they will either, take your drink back and make a new one or let you keep the one they messed up and make you a new one for free. Trevor Hockaday, a 22-year-old McDonald’s employee in Kansas, has been charged with aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer after he allegedly put peroxide-based cleaner in a police officer’s drink.

According to reports, Hockaday was charged with one count of aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer on Wednesday, September 26, after he allegedly poured a peroxide-based cleaner into an Allen County Deputy’s drink on September 12.

The Wichita Eagle reports that Allen County Sheriff Bryan Murphy ordered an iced tea or a Coke through the drive-through at the Iola McDonald’s that Hockday worked at and later experienced flu-like symptoms after Hockaday added “four squirts” of the cleaner to his drink.

Murphy said he would be even more upset if the victim were a member of the general public or a child instead of one of his deputies.

Murphy said that when he contacted the McDonald’s regional office in Joplin, Mo., he was told Hockaday had been suspended after an internal investigation but law enforcement was never contacted. Under Kansas law, adulterating or contaminating “any food, raw agricultural commodity, beverage, drug, animal feed, plant or public water supply” is a felony.

The local manager had not told regional or corporate managers about the incident, a regional restaurant official said, according to Murphy. The sheriff said a McDonald’s official told him it was not their procedure to contact law enforcement when tainted food is reported, but they would work to change their policy.

The peroxide-based cleaner is commonly used to clean the restaurant’s counters.

Glen Nichols, the owner of the Iola-based McDonald’s, released the following statement:

“In our restaurants, nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of our customers. We are very disappointed by the allegations made regarding the behavior of one of our former crew members. This kind of behavior goes against our food safety standards and is not tolerated. Our organization will take all appropriate measures to gather facts and will work closely with authorities in their investigation.”

If convicted, Hockaday faces more than 20 years in prison.
