Kappa Alpha Psi At Cornell Loses Recognition After Hazing Allegations

The Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity has lost their recognition at Cornell University due to incidents related to hazing. The university announced on Thursday, August 23, that the fraternity has lost its on-campus recognition for at least two years.

According to reports, the last alleged incident of hazing was reported during the spring 2017 semester. An investigation by the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life found photos “showing humiliation, demeaning treatment, and intimidation” that indicated an “endangerment of physical health and mental distress.”

The Cornell Sun reports that on one photo, “two members were laying on the ground atop a tarp, with food and liquid materials spread all over them while wearing only underwear” and in another photo, a new member’s “pants were unzipped and his underwear was exposed.”

It is unclear if these specific incidents led to the loss of their charter.

via The Cornell Sun:

Kappa Alpha Psi was placed on interim suspension in April 2017. The interim suspension was lifted on May 10, after which it was placed on a yearlong probationary period, according to a university statement. During this time, Kappa Alpha Psi was required to meet regularly with MGLC leadership and full revocation would be considered if the chapter did not adhere to University rules, The Sun previously reported.

In an attempt to combat hazing on campus, President Pollack issued a new set of reforms in May for Greek letter organizations in order to “elevate behavioral expectations” among members of Greek life.

After two years, the fraternity can request to be recognized again, and if approved, it will be on probationary status for at least another two years, according to the statement issued on Thursday by Joseph A. Burke, executive director of campus and community engagement.

This is the latest major fraternity or sorority investigation, suspension or closure in the last year, as schools such as Indiana University, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State and Penn State have all suspended fraternities in the wake of hazing and alcohol deaths.

These reports come amidst similar allegations that have been made against fraternities nationwide, including Sigma Alpha Epsilon at East Carolina University, who was shut down for hazing and the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter at the University of Arkansas which has been accused of taking sexually explicit photographs of women without their permission.

In response to incidents like these, fraternities such Phi Kappa Psi have made numerous changes to their code of conduct in an effort to address the issues that have arisen. In addition, schools such as Texas State, West Virginia University, and Penn State University have introduced new Greek Life rules to try and prevent these problems.

12 Types Of People Guaranteed To Be In Your Fantasy Football League

Can you feel it? The season might not have started yet, but everyone is ready for football to be back. Sure, we have preseason football, but that’s not enough. We get to see the stars for all of five minutes each week or perhaps not even at all.

With the season starting, that means fantasy football is back as well. You’re getting yourself ready for your draft, doing your prep, mixing in a few mocks and doing everything you need to in order to take home the title. Unfortunately, that also means encountering certain people that are in every single league. You know who they are and if you can’t think of someone that fits the bill for one (or more) of them, then chances are they’re you.

You know them, you love them or more than likely hate them, so take a look at the 12 people you’re guaranteed to run into in your league.

“I was JUST about to pick him!” Guy

Okay, so this guy isn’t so much one person as it is ALL of us. There are guaranteed to be moments in your draft or when you’re obsessing over the waiver wire that someone else swooped in and picked the player you were after.

However, this one person doesn’t just say it out loud, they are actually angry that you took this player. They act as if you somehow personally offended them.

So yes, it’s completely normal to get upset when a player you targeted is gone, but just don’t hold a grudge.

The “Coach”

They’re God’s gift to football, or at least they think they are. If they do not personally agree with who you pick or select on the waiver wire, you better believe they’re gonna make it known.

“Oh, you took a TE in the 4th round? WHAT AN IDIOT!” They’ll say that while also completely ignoring the fact they wanted Gronk in the third round.

In their mind, they are the smartest person in the room and they may honestly think they are smarter than some of the NFL coaches. Sure, maybe they’re just a full-blown narcissist or maybe they’re just an asshole, doesn’t change how much of a pain they are to deal with.

The “Librarian”

Despite it being 2018, this guy will show up with the same amount of papers that exist in the Library of Congress, each one compiled with stats and analysis. He will also completely discard these sheets about 5 mins into the draft.

You can do all the planning you want, but if one thing goes wrong then the whole strategy is thrown off.

If you really feel the need to have all of this stuff on hand, just use your phone or bring your iPad. It’s 2018, let’s save some trees.

The “Guy Who’s Blacked Out By Round 5”

If you’re doing a live draft, you, of course, have all the essentials. Strong WiFi, a fully charged laptop, plenty of food, and a ton of beer to drink. Unfortunately, there is always that one guy that gets a little too excited, forgets to eat something, and wakes up tomorrow wondering why he took Adam Vinatieri in the seventh round.

Don’t be this guy, not just because it’s embarrassing but also because you are bound to get absolutely roasted by the rest of the league for who you actually end up with. They may also take advantage of your state of mind and get you to make the wrong moves.

The “One That Just Needs to be There To Make an Even Number”

Maybe someone dropped out last minute or they just grew tired of fantasy football. So you’re scrambling to find a replacement and suddenly you’ve found him or her. There are two different scenarios that could potentially unfold here

1.) They’re amazing at Fantasy Football, shows up your entire league, and wins the title.

OR

2.) They’re terrible, or even worse, they don’t even care.

Either way, it’s not a great look for anyone involved.

The “Ride or Die”

They just can’t bring themselves to draft someone from a rival team. I’m a Jet fan, so I always feel a little dirty when I draft someone from the Patriots. However, the allure of winning the title and the money normally overrules those feelings.

Not this guy though. He will make every effort to draft as many people as he can from his favorite team and he will delve into “I was JUST about to pick him!” guy territory, as he gets annoyed someone took his next target from his team.

Sure, it makes rooting for people during the season easier since there won’t be as many conflicts, but it really isn’t a smart strategy.

The “Let’s Make A Trade” Guy

He’s never, ever satisfied with his team. He’s always tinkering, making moves on the waiver wire, and sends you no less than 1000 trade offers a season. He’s always trying to swindle you and the other members of the league by saying stuff like “He’s a sleeper bro, trust me.”

I highly doubt that the seventh-round pick from Northern Montana State is a sleeper, so I’m gonna say no.

The “Bare Minimum” Guy

He’s been in the league since its inception and he’s here for the long haul, but he just never seems as passionate about it as the rest of you are. He might not even be bothered to make sure his roster is set up week to week.

Don’t even get him started on the waiver wire. He doesn’t know what it is, and probably doesn’t care to know. Lucky for you, that usually means you can snag an easy win when you play them.

Unless your team really stinks. Then that’s just embarrassing.

The Commissioner

This poor guy. He’s in charge of everything and is somehow responsible for keeping everyone in line. He might not be the best at it, but dammit he’s trying. Not only does he have to make league rules, he basically has to set everything up as well.

He’s like the Dad of the whole league that secretly hates all of his kids. Not a great position to be in.

The “Slave to the Rankings” Guy

He doesn’t really have a mind of his own. He has studied the Yahoo/ESPN rankings since they were first released and basically has them memorized at this point. He doesn’t trust himself to take a leap of faith and relies heavily on where the “experts” have ranked the players.

You know who this guy is, and lucky for you, it’s easy to take advantage of this guy and capitalize.

The Complainer

Listen, everyone complains about fantasy football. It’s basically 80% of the game but this guy just takes it to another level. He bitches and moans about every single coaching decision made in a game or says stuff like “how could Todd Gurley not stretch that run for two more yards?!”

Everything becomes an issue for him and you better believe he has a problem with the league rules. This person and the commissioner usually hate each other because this person has a problem with every decision the commissioner has made and swears he could do a better job.”

Fantasy football is somehow simultaneously one of the best and worst parts of the NFL season. It provides a nice reason to get excited about games in which your team isn’t involved and, as if you needed on, talk trash to your friends.

Indiana High School Senior Faces Year In Jail Over Zombie School Shooting Video

A high school senior from Scottsburg High School in Scottsburg, Indiana faces a serious charge after he posted a violent video to his Facebook page.

Scott Small was arrested and arraigned on misdemeanor intimidation charges for posting a clip from The Walking Dead: Our World on social media. The game uses augmented reality to place zombies or “walkers” into the real world and allows users to shoot them as part of the game.

The clip shows the player using a shotgun to shoot zombies as they appear in the hallway of the high school. A screenshot from the video can be seen below.

WDRB

As you can see it does look similar to a school shooting, albeit the targets being virtual zombies rather than real people. A fellow student became frightened and concerned after seeing the video on Facebook and reported the post to the school principal, Ric Manns.

Manns and Scottsburg County Sheriff Joe Baker viewed the footage and said in an affidavit:

“depicted real Scottsburg High School students walking through the hallway along with fictional zombie characters…Such students could not be identified due to the app’s photographic settings..Further, it appeared Sean had used his smartphone to capture the movement of random students walking in the hallway of the school while shooting zombie characters walking in the shooter’s immediate direction.”

He now faces expulsion from the school and possible repercussions for his planned future in the US Army. Small had just gotten back from training for the Indiana National Guard at Fort Benning, Georgia.

Speaking to WDRB, Scott’s father Kris Small, had this to say:

“They made it sound like he had posted this awful video…they said he had created (computer-generated imagery) of students and was shooting students in the school hallway, and it wasn’t until I had a chance to actually look at it and I saw the logo in the corner and listened to it and heard the zombie sounds that I realized what it really was.”

If expelled, he would miss his senior year of high school and his final year on the school wrestling team. The expulsion hearing will take place next week.

Alaina Ferguson, a 25-year-old former high school teacher who admitted having sex with a 16-year-old student on a park bench, was sentenced on Thursday, August 23, to 10 years of probation.

The former Plano High School teacher was also fined $800 and sentenced to 120 days in jail — to be served two weeks per year over several years.

In addition, Ferguson, who plead guilty to charges of an improper relationship between a teacher and a student and indecency with a child by exposure, must perform 150 hours of community service and register as a sex offender for 10 years.

Ferguson was a 23-year-old algebra teacher at the time of the incident.

via NY Post:

Ferguson was arrested in late 2016 after she and the teen started a relationship at the beginning of the school year after he wrote his Snapchat handle on a test and gave it to Ferguson, according to an arrest warrant obtained by The Post.

Shortly afterward, Ferguson met up with the teen in Lewisville, where they had sex on a park bench, according to an affidavit. They also had sex in the back of the teen’s pickup truck after a football game and in her fiancé’s apartment while he was out of town on a hunting trip.

Ferguson, who also exchanged nude photos with the teen and supplied him alcohol during their two-month relationship, later called off her engagement. She resigned just two months after starting her job in August 2016, school officials said.

According to Ferguson’s arrest warrant, she told the victim that she knew their relationship was “not the right thing to do, but it felt right at the time.”

Ferguson is just the latest teacher to be charged for inappropriate conduct. Over the course of just a few months, educators across the country were arrested for entering into an inappropriate relationship with their students, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers, LaToya Parker, Florida teacher Caroline Lawson, 26-year-old Allyson Moran and Katherine Ross Ridenhour were all arrested on similar charges. A woman named Kayla Sprinkles was arrested in North Carolina for similar sexual crimes.

The list goes on to include 22-year-old Oklahoma science teacher Hunter Day, 28-year-old teacher Megan Kotarski, 23-year-old history teacher Michelle Schiffer, 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy, special education teacher Jordan Ondish and 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick have all been allegedly carrying on inappropriate relationships with their students.

In addition, 31-year-old Nicole Marie Andrews, 32-year-old Jessica Langford, 29-year-old Andrea Baber, 27-year-old Robin Dunlap, 27-year-old Jennifer Olajire-Aro have also been charged with these charges.

34-year-old Miranda Nicole Pauley was charged with similar crimes, Nancy Leigh Ann Brann, a former Christian school teacher, was arrested for having sex with a student, Coine Audiat pleaded no contest to having sex with a minor in 2016 and 23-year-old Darci Lake was arrested for an inappropriate relationship. 27-year-old Brittany Zamora from Arizona was arrested on similar charges. Keri Hoffman, 35, was also arrested for an alleged relationship with a student. More recently, 29-year-old Tiffany Ranweiler-Oblander and 33-year-old Maren Oates were arrested on similar charges.

Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous was an American television series that aired in syndication from 1984 to 1995. The show, which was hosted by Leach for a majority of it’s run, featured the extravagant lifestyles of entertainers, athletes, and business moguls.

Leach was born in London on August 29, 1941, to Violet Victoria Phillips and Douglas Thomas Leach.

The first paper to publish his stories was The Harrow Observer, the local paper when he was a student at Harrow County School for Boys. The paper hired him when he graduated at age 15. He went on to become the youngest editor at the Daily Mail, at 18, later writing for the New York Daily News, Ladies Home Journal and People magazine and editing for The Star after he moved to the states in November of 1963.

The 5 Greatest College Basketball Stadiums In The Nation

Greatest College Basketball Stadiums

JULY 3, 2017:ALLEN FIELDHOUSE KU – LAWRENCE, KS – JAMES NAISMITH statue – founder of basketball. Building is home to ALLEN FIELDHOUSE – Kansas University Basketball Arena.

With how many teams there are in the world of college football, everyone is always looking for an advantage over their opponents. One of the most established and proven advantages a team can have is a great home court. Some home courts are dominant due to their large size and ability to hold many fans, where others are so small that it feels like the fans are on the court with the athletes. No matter the reason, a great home court can be huge for a team trying to get a leg up on their opponents. Here are the five greatest stadiums in college football.

1. Allen Fieldhouse

Instagram Photo

The Allen Fieldhouse is home to the University of Kansas Jayhawks basketball team. The Allen Fieldhouse opened in 1955 and has been used by the University of Kansas ever since. Named for legendary coach Phog Allen, who was trained under James Naismith (the inventor of basketball), the Allen Fieldhouse has become one of the greatest home-field advantages in all of sports. In 2010, ESPN named the Allen Fieldhouse the loudest arena in the nation and the Kansas fans broke the Guinness World Record for the loudest arena in February of 2017.

2. The Palestra

Instagram Photo

The Palestra is the home stadium to the University of Pennsylvania Quakers and is used by not only the men and women’s basketball teams but also several other of the school’s teams such as their wrestling and volleyball programs. The Palestra opened in 1927 and is commonly referred to as the “Cathedral of College Basketball” due to its intimate size and historical importance. When it first opened, the Palestra was one of the largest arenas in the world despite the fact that it sat less than 10,000 people. The Palestra has hosted more regular season and playoff games than any other stadium in the nation. In 2000, a museum celebrating the basketball tradition in Philadelphia was added to the stadium.

3. Cameron Indoor Stadium

Instagram Photo

Cameron Indoor Stadium is home to the Duke Blue Devils basketball program. Cameron Indoor opened in 1940 under the name Duke Indoor Stadium but was renamed in 1972 after former Duke coach Eddie Cameron. Duke has won over 84% of their home games since the stadium was opened, with a record of 832-154. Over the last 15 seasons, Duke has won over 93% of their home games, with only the Allen Fieldhouse having a better home-win percentage.

4. Hinkle Fieldhouse

Instagram Photo

The Hinkle Fieldhouse is home to the Butler University Bulldogs. First opened in 1928, the Hinkle Fieldhouse was the largest basketball stadium in the country, able to hold over 15,000 people. It was renamed in 1966 from the Butler Fieldhouse to the Hinkle Fieldhouse in honor of former Butler coach Tony Hinkle. Fans often refer to the Hinkle Fieldhouse as “Indiana’s Basketball Cathedral” due to the deep ties it carries in the state’s basketball history. Hinkle Fieldhouse, much like the Palestra, is notable as it is built so that the fans sit very close to the court with no barrier between them, giving the arena a unique energy during games.

5. Carrier Dome

Instagram Photo

The Carrier Dome is the home stadium of the Syracuse Orange basketball and football programs. While the Carrier Dome may not have the same history as the other entries on this list, it still holds a special mark in the college basketball world. The Carrier Dome opened in 1980 with the sponsored name Carrier, a producer of HVAC systems based out of Syracuse, New York. The two features that really make the Carrier Dome so impressive is its size and location. The Carrier Dome can seat over 35,000 fans for a basketball game and over 50,000 fans for a football game, making it the largest college basketball arena in the nation. Additionally, the Carrier Dome is located on-campus, which is rare for arenas of this size. Of the three largest college basketball stadiums (Carrier Dome, Rupp Arena in Lexington and KFC Yum! Center in Lousiville) the Carrier Dome is the only one located on campus.

Conor McGregor Has Finally Begun Chirping Khabib Nurmagomedov

WATCH: 'Notorious' Teaser #1 Video, Conor McGregor Documentary

Vaughn Ridley/Getty Images

Given that his highly-anticipated fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov is just 43 days away (from the time of this writing), many fans of The Notorious Conor McGregor found it somewhat odd that’s he hasn’t been up to his usual pre-match mind games.

Well, not anymore: Conor’s world-class shit-talking is back and it’s better than ever.

Kicking off what is sure to be a highly-contentious month of promotion, McGregor not only took a shot at his opponent Khabib Nurmagomedov but his father as well.

via Instagram:

@abdulmanap.nurmagomedov I can see you.
Cowering behind fake respect. Just like your middle child.
A quivering coward.

Instagram Photo

McGregor’s fight against Nurmagomedov will be his first inside of a UFC Octagon in nearly two years, as his previous bout — a win against Eddie Alvarez where he became the first fighter in the promotion’s history to hold titles in two divisions simultaneously — went down on November 12, 2016.

Given that McGregor is easily the biggest star that the UFC has ever had, pre-match promotion isn’t necessarily needed for the fight to succeed, as it’s likely going to shatter records whether McGregor and Nurmagomedov engage in shit-talking or not.

At this time, McGregor currently sits as an underdog to Nurmagomedov at +140. However, given the likely large influx of McGregor bets that are going to flood in over the next month, it wouldn’t be surprising to see that line close at somewhere around +100.

Top 10 Richest DJ’s On Earth Right Now

Richest DJs

Shutterstock

One of the newest forms of mainstream musicians, DJ’s have had a huge surge in popularity during the past fifteen years or so. Many of these DJ’s rose up with this increased prominence to the point that they attained fame on par with most other established musicians, all while gaining huge amounts of wealth in the process. By looking into both the songs they have produced, as well as their constant touring schedules we can get some insight into how these DJ’s amassed the wealth they have today.

10. Skrillex Net Worth: $45 Million

Shutterstock

While his fame has decreased somewhat since his huge surge in popularity ten years ago, there was a point where Skrillex was the most well known DJ and producer in the world. His glasses and the emo swoopy hair thing he has going on became iconic, and without fail, every Call of Duty highlight reel at the time was accompanied by his music. His huge prominence, accompanied by his aggressive touring schedule are what got him a spot on this list.

9. Kaskade Net Worth: $50 Million

Shutterstock

Becoming popular between 2008 and 2009 during the revival of American Progressive House, Kaskade has been an established DJ for years. He has won DJ of the year in both 2011 and 2013, each time becoming more prominent in the public eye. Since then he has continued to release music (with one album being titled A Kaskade Christmas) as well as consistently touring which has earned him a spot on this list.

8. (Tie) Paul Van Dyk Net Worth: $60 Million

Shutterstock

While not too widely known in the states, Paul Van Dyke is still huge around the world and has the money to show it. He was the first DJ to ever win a Grammy in the newer category Best Dance/Electronic Album and was also voted the worlds number one DJ in 2005 and 2006. Using this notoriety he has continued to keep up a solid touring schedule ever since and has amassed this impressive fortune as a result.

7. (Tie) Afrojack Net Worth: $60 Million

Afrojack Net Worth

It is these huge collaborations on hit songs that have made him so prominent and allowed him to consistently sell out tour dates all over the world.

Two of the most famous robot faced DJ’s alive today, the members of Daft Punk are collectively worth $140 Million. They have been churning out hits for years, and even though they don’t tour that often, they’ve been able to accumulate so much wealth almost exclusively through their music sales and collaborations. They also have something of a film career as well, having scored the music for the most recent Tron movie, as well as have a brief cameo in the film as their robot selves.

4. (Tie) Steve Aoki Net Worth: $75 Million

Steve Aoki

Probably one of the few people to make a career out of throwing cake at his fans, Steve Aoki has risen to prominence more recently than most on this list, but that hasn’t stopped him from being one of the most well known as well. He founded a record label while still in college, and then used it to release his as well as many others music. It was his relentless touring schedule though, at one point doing more than 250 shows a year, that gained him his huge amounts of fans and a spot on this list.

Facebook, Google, Twitter & Other Tech Giants Meeting To Discuss ‘Election Meddling’

It goes without saying that I am not a fan of Silicon Valley tech giants.

Twitter, Facebook, Google, Amazon, the lot of them — despite the undoubted ways they have pushed our species into the future, there is something inherently nefarious about them.

Just think about some of the great sci-fi stories of our lifetime:

  • Terminator takes place in a world undone by Skynet.
  • Blade Runners only exist in Blade Runner because of the Tyrell Corporation.
  • And more recently, the strings behind Westworld are being pulled by the mysterious.

All of these examples just prove that behind every massive international technology company is some shady, shady shit that has the potential to push life as we know it to the brink.

So when all of the aforementioned international technology companies announce that they will be having a meeting, I’m obviously quick to raise an eyebrow.

According to BuzzFeed News, representatives of some of the biggest tech companies, including Facebook and Twitter, have scheduled a private meeting to share their tactics in preparation for the 2018 midterm elections.

Sounds good, right? That’s exactly what they want you to believe.

via BuzzFeed News:

Last week, Facebook’s head of cybersecurity policy, Nathaniel Gleicher, invited employees from a dozen companies, including Google, Microsoft, and Snapchat, to gather at Twitter’s headquarters in downtown San Francisco, according to an email obtained by BuzzFeed News.

“As I’ve mentioned to several of you over the last few weeks, we have been looking to schedule a follow-on discussion to our industry conversation about information operations, election protection, and the work we are all doing to tackle these challenges,” Gleicher wrote.

The meeting, the Facebook official wrote, will have a three-part agenda: each company will present the work they’ve been doing to counter information operations; there will be a discussion period for problems each company faces; and a talk about whether such a meeting should become a regular occurrence.

In May, nine of those companies met at Facebook to discuss similar problems, alongside two US government representatives, Department of Homeland Security Under Secretary Chris Krebs and Mike Burham from the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force, created in November. Attendees left the meeting discouraged that they received little information from the government.

All kidding aside, if the reports are to be taken at face value, then it’s good that these world-shaping companies have decided to put their trillion-dollar-heads together to solve a very real problem.

Regardless, I still don’t trust em’.

Baltimore Police Department

Bobie Barncord has been arrested in connection to the murder of Tiffany Jones, multiple Baltimore news outlets reported on Friday, Aug. 24. Barncord has been charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment, first-degree arson, and reckless endangerment.

The 28-year-old is currently being held without bond.

Jones was allegedly abducted in broad daylight by two men after an argument when she was kidnapped. The following day, her body was discovered inside of a burn home that was just blocks from where she first disappeared.

“[She was] loving, caring, outgoing and she loved to help anybody,” said Jones family friend Katie McDaniel, via the local CBS News affiliate. “Everybody was hysterical because she’s not that type of person so why would this happen to her.”

Jones was married and a mother of two.

“She’s a mother. She has two children, a boy and a little girl,” a relative told WBALTV-11. “So we don’t know if they hurt her and just put her in there and just set it on fire. We just don’t know.”

Police have stated the investigation is ongoing and they are still seeking two suspects who are described as a Hispanic man and black man. It is believed that Jones knew her abductors.

A vigil for Jones was held this week.

Heisman Trophy Candidates 2018: Who Will Win The Heisman?

$

Heisman Trophy Candidates

The Heisman Trophy is College Football’s most coveted award and the 2018 race has begun before games are even played. Schools are lobbying for their best player to be named to a number of watch lists and watching these talented athletes put on a show for the fans is truly special. There can only be one winner once December comes and the hype is building up. With that being said, let’s take a look at some players that could punch their tickets to New York City at the conclusion of the 2018 regular season. This list is in no particular order.

Will Grier: QB West Virginia

Instagram Photo

2017 Stats: 250/388 3490 Yds 34 TD’s 12 INT’s

Grier enters the 2018 with some serious hype after an extremely productive 2017 campaign. With David Sills V returning at wide receiver, Grier will have an extremely reliable weapon and the two could put up some serious numbers. This is easily the most talented team West Virginia has had in quite some time and if Grier can put up even bigger numbers in 2018, he will have a solid chance of making it to New York for the Heisman ceremony.

Bryce Love: RB Stanford

Instagram Photo

2017 Stats: 263 Att, 2116 Yds, 19 TD’s

News flash! Bryce Love is really good and so is Stanford’s offensive line. After rushing for 783 yards his sophomore year behind Christian McCaffrey, Love exploded for 2118 yards in his junior season. There is no doubt that he is an exceptional talent that will wreak havoc on opposing defenses every time he steps on the field. Stanford is one of the smartest teams in the country and they can always find creative ways to get Love the ball. If he bursts into the second level, good luck stopping him.

Trace McSorley: QB Penn State

Instagram Photo

2017 Stats: 284/427, 3570 Yds, 28 TD’s, 10 INT’s, 144 Att, 491 Yds, 11 TD’s

Don’t tell Trace McSorley that he’s too small, you’ll regret it later. With Saquon Barkley, Mike Gesicki, and DaeSean Hamilton in the NFL, Penn State’s signal caller will have the target on his back as opposing defenses will try to and shut him down. With incredibly athletic and tall wide receivers like Juwan Johnson and incoming freshman Justin Shorter, the high passes won’t be an issue. Then when you factor in players like DeAndre Thompkins, KJ Hamler, Mac Hippenhammer and Brandon Polk who having blazing speed, McSorley’s receivers will make him look good and his chances of making it to New York in December are high.

Jarrett Stidham: QB Auburn

Instagram Photo

2017 Stats: 246/370, 3158 Yds, 18 TD’s 6 INT’s

Auburn was one win away from an SEC Championship and one of the main reasons of their success was Jarrett Stidham. The Baylor transfer led the Tigers to a 26-14 upset win over Alabama to reach the SEC title game against Georgia and this team has high hopes going into 2018. Stidham has an extremely strong arm and can even improvise with his feet if the play breaks down. Look for him to be the most consistent quarterback in the SEC this season.

Jonathan Taylor: RB Wisconsin

Instagram Photo

2017 Stats: 299 Att, 1977 Yds, 13 TD’s

Now that Saquon Barkley is gone, Jonathan Taylor is the best running back in the Big Ten Conference. The rising sophomore had an extremely productive freshman year and will be on Heisman lists for years to come. With possibly the best offensive line in all of College Football blocking for him, a boring offense will become even more boring but even harder to stop. Seriously though, Wisconsin’s offense can put you to sleep.

Khalil Tate: QB Arizona

Instagram Photo

2017 Stats: 111/179 1591 Yds, 14 TD’s 9 INT’s, 153 Att, 1411 Yds, 12 TD’s

PAC 12 defenses beware. Khalil Tate is an absolute machine and will make you look absolutely silly. His blazing speed is the thing that really stands out and he will thrive in under new coach Kevin Sumlin. Tate’s highlight-reel plays will keep him in contention but he will need to improve his passing stats if he wants to make it to New York in December. Regardless, he will be a fun player to watch in 2018.

Jake Fromm: QB Georgia

Instagram Photo

2017 Stats: 181/291, 2615 Yds, 24 TD’s 7 INT’s

At this time last year, it was undecided as to whether Jake Fromm would be the starting quarterback because of Jacob Eason. Once Eason got hurt, Fromm led the Dawgs to the National Championship game. With Eason transferring to Washington, it’s Fromm’s job to lose. His strong football IQ will keep him in the Heisman conversation for years to come and the Dawgs will be the clear cut SEC East favorite once again.

Kyler Murray: QB Oklahoma

Instagram Photo

2017 Stats: 18/21 359 Yds, 3 TD’s 0 INT’s

Yes, Kyler Murray was also a first round draft pick of the Oakland Athletics. Murray’s interesting skill-set makes him one of the most lethal quarterbacks even though he has seen limited action due to Baker Mayfield being ahead of him. His arm and legs are extremely dangerous and there is no doubt that he can step in to fill the shoes of Baker Mayfield. Maybe not to the same magnitude but he will make a serious impact.

Tua Tagovailoa OR Jalen Hurts: QB Alabama

Instagram Photo

2017 Stats:

Hurts: 154/255, 2081 Yds, 17 TD’s 1 INT, 154 Att, 855 Yds, 8 TD’s

Tagovailoa: 49/77 636 Yds, 11 TD’s 2 INT’s, 27 Att, 133 Yds, 2 TD’s

Is it really a Heisman conversation without an Alabama player in it? Now here is where things get very interesting. Nick Saban has a quarterback battle on his hands and it should come as no surprise that whoever goes under center for the Crimson Tide will make headlines. Whether it’s Hurts or Tagovailoa remains a question mark as fall camp has already begun. Hurts led the Tide to the National Title game. However, Tagovailoa came in during the second half and won the game for Alabama. Let the debate begin!

J.K. Dobbins: RB Ohio State

Instagram Photo

2017 Stats: 194 Att, 1403 Yds, 7 TD’s, 22 Rec, 135 Yds, 1 TD

Dobbins emerged as a shining star in the Ohio State offense as a freshman in 2017 and he is poised to take the next big step in order to become one of the more elite running backs in the Big Ten Conference. Ohio State is a consistent team that always puts a talented group on the field. Dobbins will be the feature back once again and he will do some damage in 2018 and beyond.

Honorable Mentions

AJ Dillon: RB Boston College
Shea Patterson: QB Michigan
Jake Browning: QB Washington
Rodney Anderson: RB Oklahoma
D’Andre Swift: RB Georgia
McKenzie Milton: QB UCF
Drew Lock: QB Missouri
Nick Fitzgerald: QB Mississippi State
Kelly Bryant: QB Clemson
Ed Oliver: DT Houston

He did not study for the exam and achieved a perfect score. He eventually graduated college at age 10 with a BS in anthropology. Micahel later went on to win over 1 million dollars from being on game shows and is currently a professional improv comedian.

Sho Yano

Sho Yano boasts an IQ of roughly 200. Accordingly, Yano began reading at age two, began writing by age three, playing piano four, and writing his own music at age five. He first went to the Mirman School as a child. He scored 1500 out of 1600 on the SAT test when he was eight and he graduated from the American School of Correspondence at when he was nine. Afterward, he enrolled at Loyola University Chicago also at age nine as well and graduated summa cum laude when he was 12. In his own words, Cavalin believes that “My case isn’t that special. It’s just a combination of parenting and motivation and inspiration. I tend to not compare myself that often to other people. I just try to do the best I can, ” according to Nextshark.com.
