The HBO hit show ‘Ballers’ returns on Sunday, Aug. 12 for season 4. In season 4, Spencer, who is played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, heads to the West Coast to acquire an extreme-sport agency. They will be introduced to an eccentric character Lance, who is played by Russell Brand. The season will also follow Charles, played by Omar Benson Miller, as he begins his tenure as general manager of the Los Angeles Rams.

The episode synopsis for “Rough Ride” reads:

Spencer and Joe weigh the pros and cons of acquiring an extreme-sport agency. Ricky sets down roots in LA with Amber and their daughter, but finds himself yearning for something else. Charles rallies a group of disgruntled employees as he begins his new tenure with the Rams.

Over the weekend, Omarosa unveiled audio of General John Kelly informing her that she would be fired. Now, on Monday, Aug. 13, Omarosa has revealed new audio that suggests President Trump may have been caught off guard.

The audio shares a discussion between Trump and Omarosa about her leaving the White House.

“Omarosa, what’s going on?”, Trump asked in the audio. “I just saw on the news that you’re thinking about leaving. What happened?”

“General Kelly came to me and said that you guys wanted me to leave,” Omarosa replied.

“No,” Trump responded. “Nobody even told me about it. You know, they run a big operation but I didn’t know it. I didn’t know that. Damnit. I don’t love you leaving at all.”

Omarosa claims she has released audio of the discussions because of a threat made by General John Kelly.

In the first audio clip released, Kelly said: “I think it’s important to understand that if we make this a friendly departure, we can all be, you know you can look at your time here in the White House as a year of service to the nation. And then you can go on without any type of difficulty in the future, relative to your reputation.”

Omarosa responded, “I had to protect myself and I had no regret about it.”

Omarosa’s book, “Unhinged: An Insider Account of the Trump White House,” is set to release on Aug. 14. This is likely just the beginning of the latest reality drama involving Omarosa and her former boss.

The Hokies and the Hurricanes are the only real threat to stopping Clemson’s dynasty-like run in the ACC. That week 12 matchup will likely determine Clemson’s opponent in the finale.

The Houston Texans cheerleaders are one of the most engaging and active squads on social media. This year, they hosted hundreds of women at the Houston Methodist Training Center to round out their squad for the 2018 season. The Texans cheerleaders appear at games, while also making plenty of appearances outside of football for charity events and other activities. The Texans cheerleaders were established in 2002 and have 35 members.

This year, the Texans cheer team held their second-annual summer picnic in anticipation of the upcoming season.

Former Texans cheerleaders include Courtney Lopez, who was Miss Wisconsin USA 2010; Lauri Flynn, the wife of Matt Schaub; Carrie Milbanks, hostess of The Hockey Show on the NFL Network; and Ashley Clay, wife of Ryan Cochrane.

WWE Announced today that former Tag-Team Champion, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart passed away at 63. Older fans will best know him as one part of “The Hart Foundation” alongside superstar Bret Hart, with whom he also held the Tag-Team Titles with, while newer fans may recognize him from Total Divas in which he appears with daughter and fellow WWE Superstar, Natalya. He is a legend in the WWE Universe and will be incredibly missed by friends, family, and fans.

Neidhart started his career in the NFL but was later trained by the legendary Stu Hart in the infamous Hart Dungeon in Calgary. While there he met Ellie, Stu’s daughter and Bret Hart’s sister, and they were later married. The two would have three children including current WWE Superstar Natalya.

Neidhart joined the WWE after the company purchased Stu Hart’s  Calgary Stampede Wrestling. He would win the WWE Tag Team Championships two times while part of the Hart Foundation. He would make appearances in both WCW and NJPW. Neidhart would make his final appearance for the WWE in 1997.

Most recently the WWE Universe got a peek at his life in episodes of Total Divas. He would appear periodically to help or sometimes complicate Natalya’s life. He always came off as a loving father who worked hard to make his family happy. Nataly was clearly close to her father and our thoughts go out to her and the rest of the Neidhart family in this hard time.

Tim Garner, an Atlanta-based teacher resigned and faced felony criminal charges after allegedly assaulting a 17-year-old student in 2017. Over the weekend, video of the troubling assault surfaced online by local Atlanta station WSB-TV 2. In the video, you can see Garner grabbing the student by the throat and then slamming him onto a table in the school’s cafeteria.

The incident occurred at Lumpkin County Alternative School, which is a school for students who have had issues at other schools within the Lumpkin County school district.

The 61-year-old Garner says that he was acting in self-defense and he says he does not regret putting his hands on the student’s neck.

“I was in fear of a head-butt or something like that or carrying something,” Garner said. When asked if he justified his actions by WSB-TV Channel 2’s Michael Seiden, Garner simply replied, “Absolutely.” He continued to discuss his actions, saying:

“He didn’t say anything until he put his hand on me and when he did that, I reacted. He was right up on me and when he did that,” Garner said. “The next thing, I just wanted to control his hitting hand. He’s right hand dominant and that’s all he hits with. I’ve never seen him throw a punch with his left hand.”

The attorney for the student, who has been identified as Zack Tumlin, issued the following statement:

“Coach Garner’s assertions that my client is a troubled and violent youth is absurd, as is the assertion that my client initiated any contact with him. The truth of the matter, as the video clearly shows, is that Coach Garner decided to subdue and choke a child for almost 50 seconds as a method of exercising discretionary discipline for a minor infraction in the lunchroom. We expect Coach Garner to be held accountable and take responsibility for his lapse in judgment, and for the School District to do the right thing in settling the civil claims that will follow the criminal prosecution.”

Garner says the altercation began when he asked the student to clean up a mess in the cafeteria. Garner described the student as a “troubled teen with a violent past,” which shows preconceived notions about how the student would respond.

The video clearly shows Garner as the aggressor and he continues to control the student by the throat for nearly one minute. That type of excessive force should never be tolerated. Immediately after Garner releases the student’s throat, Tumlin moves towards the exit and tries to leave the area where Garner continues to stand in his path.

Garner was arrested on charges of first-degree cruelty to children and simple battery. His bond was set for $7,700. If convicted of simple battery, which is a felony charge in Georgia, Garner would face a sentence of five to 20-years in prison.

On Thursday, July 12, Fortnite season 5 released with new unlockables, challenges, and even some added modes which allow you to play golf or basketball with friends. Now, one month later, it’s time to take a look ahead at the Week 6 challenges from the latest season.

A Twitter account which goes by @FNleak shared the challenges on social media which include anything from a time trial to dealing headshot damage to opponents to harvesting building resources with a pickaxe to having the most eliminations with a minigun or light machine gun. There is also a HARD challenge which includes eliminating opponents in Tilted Towers. Out of the Week 6 challenges, three will be free and four require the Battle Pass.

It is important to note that because these are just leaks, there is still time for Fortnite developer Epic Games to tweak some of the challenges before their official release.

The official release for the Fortnite season 5, week 6 challenges will come on Thursday.

Former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson has been on the sidelines while recovering from a serious knee injury earlier this year. Ferguson was scheduled to face current 155-pound title holder Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 223 in Brooklyn, New York for the undisputed title when he was diagnosed with a complete tear of his left LCL.

Now, “El Cucuy” is ready to return to the Octagon.

In a post shared on social media over the weekend, Ferguson announced that he was cleared and ready to make his comeback inside of the cage. Ferguson went through the rehab process in just four months and is ready to pick up where he left off.

All that’s next for Ferguson is scheduling his next UFC bout and looking to extend his winning streak as he makes another run at UFC gold.

With the start of the 2018 college football season just around the corner, the latest Heisman Trophy betting odds have been released. For much of the offseason, Stanford running back Bryce Love, a Heisman finalist alongside Louisville’s Lamar Jackson and eventual winner Baker Mayfield a year ago, was considered the favorite.

That has all changed, however, with Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa leapfrogging into the top position with 4-1 odds.

The Score shared the latest odds from Westgate Las Vegas Superbook, which have the sophomore signal-caller in the top spot. Rounding out the top three is Love at 5-1 and Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor at 8-1. Khalil Tate of Arizona has 12-1 odds, while a pair of quarterbacks — Trace McSorley of Penn State and West Virginia’s Will Grier — have 15-1 odds.

Baker Mayfield, who won the most prestigious award in college football a year ago, entered the season at 44-1 odds, so you can never count anyone out.

Kyle Thomas has been identified as the Mississippi hospital worker who was seen shouting racial slurs at another customer inside of a donut shop over the weekend. The incident occured at Donut Palace in Flowood, Mississippi near Jackson. Thomas, a radiology tech from a nearby local hospital has since been fired from his job.

“We are aware of the confrontation captured on video involving one of our off duty employees at a local donut shop. We take this situation very seriously,” Ayoka Pond, a spokesperson for Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, told Heavy.com in a statement. “This employee’s language and behavior does not represent our organization’s values and his employment has been terminated.”

In the video, which first surfaced on Facebook, Thomas can be seen arguing with an employee at Donut Palace.

Another employee pulled out her cell phone and began recording the incident before Thomas noticed he was on video. At that time, Thomas began arguing with the woman who was filming. He ultimately began leaving the store, before turning back around and shouting the n-word multiple times.

“You’re a n*gger. You’re a n*gger, shut up,” Thomas said.

As he was walking to his car, he used the slur on two more occasions. You can watch the video below.

Thomas apologized for his actions on social media before deleting his Facebook account.

“I am so sorry, there is nothing I can say that will change what I said. I drove back up there and tried to apologize and she had gone. I regret every word that I said there is no excuse to every say these horrible things.” Thomas wrote. “I only hope that by me sharing a public apology in this incident you could show me some grace. I was upset about another issue and it spilled over into this and I can’t apologize enough.”

Nicki Minaj has dropped her new music video for the track “Ganja Burn” off of her recent album Queen, which dropped Friday, Aug. 10. The video, directed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, starts off with the introduction of a fictional story of an ancient queen that sets the storyline for the full video.

Queen was initially scheduled to drop on June 15, but was later pushed back to Aug. 10. The album was pushed back yet again to Aug. 17 after Minaj had to clear a song which sampled legendary singer-songwriter Tracy Chapman. It marks Minaj’s first studio album since the 2014 hit Pinkprint.

Duane Youd has been identified as the Utah man who flew a small plane into his own home. According to authorities, Youd crashed the plane into the house in the wee hours of the morning on Monday. It was also noted that the wild incident occurred just hours after Youd had been arrested for assaulting his wife.

Youd died in the crash.

His wife and a child were in the home at the time he flew the plane into the front of the two-story building, but they were able to get out and survive. It is believed that Youd took the plane from his employer, according to ABC-13. Youd, who was an experienced pilot, was employed by Guardian Flight Alaska according to his Facebook account.

The 47-year-old studied Professional Aeronautical Science at Utah Valley University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in 2008.

Youd’s mugshot from earlier in the day has also been released.

Youd was booked into jail on suspicion of domestic violence and then bailed out, Cannon said. Youd requested an officer escort to go to his home so he could get his truck and some belongings around midnight. That occurred without incident, Sandoval said.

Within hours, Youd was taking off in the plane from the Spanish Fork-Springville Airport about 15 miles north of his house. He flew directly to his neighborhood and smashed into his house, Sandoval said.

Prior to the crash, Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon said witnesses called the police after seeing the couple argue. The argument took place at American Fork Canyon, and both had reportedly been drinking. Police previously responded to a domestic violence incident earlier this year which resulted in a disorderly conduct charge. Youd was sentenced to six months of marriage and family counseling sessions as part of a plea deal.

Mike Bobo, head coach of the Colorado State football team, was hospitalized on Monday, Aug. 13 the university announced. Bobo is currently undergoing medical evaluation after experiencing numbness in his feet, a statement from the Colorado State athletics department confirmed.

“I recently began to experience numbness in my feet,” Bobo said in a statement of his own. “After our second scrimmage on Saturday night, it was determined by doctors that I should be admitted to the hospital to undergo further testing. I feel very encouraged by the test results to this point and hope to have some answers soon.

“I also feel very encouraged about our 2018 CSU football team. We have excellent coaches and excellent leadership in this program, and I have full confidence that they will continue to have tremendous preparation on and off the practice field for as long as I must be away. My family and I appreciate all of the great care and support we are receiving.”

Colorado State director of athletics Joe Parker also issued a statement on the matter:

“I want to express my care and concern for Mike Bobo and his family at this time. Our first priority is to focus on Mike’s health and well-being and to support that process in every way we can. I share Mike’s confidence that we have tremendous leadership in our football program, and that the coaching staff will continue to successfully guide the team through practices and meetings while he is away.”

Bobo, who is 44 years old, is set to enter his fourth season as head coach of the Rams. He holds a 21-18 overall record. Prior to taking over at Colorado State, Bobo served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Georgia from 2001-2014. He also served as quarterbacks coach at Jacksonville State in 2000, and was a graduate assistant at Georgia, where he played as a quarterback while in college, to begin his coaching career.

Colorado State officially kicks off its 2018 campaign on Saturday, Aug. 25 against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. Kickoff at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on the CBS Sports Network.

Melissa Howard, a GOP candidate for the Florida state House in District 73 was accused of lying about her college degree from Miami University of Ohio. She also was accused of lying about her NRA approval rating ahead of the election. Initially, Howard attempted to send photos of what she claimed were her transcripts and photos of what she said was her college diploma, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

However, the lie proved to be too much as Howard ultimately changed her tune this week.

In a Facebook message posted Monday evening, the GOP candidate confirmed that she had lied about receiving her diploma from Miami University. Admitting her lie came only after Robin Parker, general counsel for Miami University, told the Sarasota Herald-Tribune that Howard never graduated from the school.

Howard then apologized for making up the lie, before saying that she will not withdraw from the House race.

“I made a mistake in saying that I completed my degree. What I did was wrong and set a bad example for someone seeking public service. I am staying in the race and intend to win and lead by example from now on,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

As for the NRA approval rating, Howard claimed to have an “A” rating, but in reality, she scored a “B.”

That’s a footnote in this story, though. And let this be a lesson to all future candidates: you can’t lie about your education in the age of the internet. The truth always comes out.

At UFC 227 in Los Angeles earlier this month, TJ Dillashaw successfully defended his bantamweight title with a first-round knockout of rival Cody Garbrandt. In the co-main event that same night, Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo shocked the world by knocking off longtime UFC flyweight king Demetrious Johnson to claim the title. After Cejudo’s monumental win, he called out the bantamweight champion for a potential champion vs. champion bout.

Dillashaw said he would be willing to welcome Cejudo to 135-pounds and even appears willing to attempt the cut down to 125-pounds, but could the fight actually happen?

While many have suggested Dillashaw face former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz and Cejudo gives Johnson an immediate rematch, there’s no shortage of early promotion for a potential showdown between the two titleholders.

This week, both men appeared on the set of ExtraTV with host and UFC fan Mario Lopez.

Dillashaw and Cejudo, both carrying their belts, eventually stood out of their chairs as they were jawing back and forth for the first faceoff of the potential superfight. You can check out video of their face-to-face exchange below.

Ultimately, the UFC is a money-making business. If they believe that Dillashaw vs. Cejudo would produce the biggest gate, the company would waste no time booking the matchup and striking while the iron is hot.

However, if they choose to have the two champions defend their bouts before a potential superfight, there is no shortage of options. At bantamweight, both Dominick Cruz and Raphael Assuncao hold previous wins over Dillashaw. They certainly have a case for a title shot. Demetrious Johnson, meanwhile, lost a razor-close decision and holds the UFC record for most consecutive title defenses. If anyone is deserving of an immediate rematch, “Mighty Mouse” is the guy.

Former White House aide Omarosa Manigualt-Newman has been making the media rounds to promote her upcoming book “Unhinged: An Insider Account of the Trump White House.” Throughout the process, Omarosa has been releasing audio records that she secretly made during her time in the West Wing. One of the clips included her firing by John Kelly in the White House Situation Room, while other audio showed Donald Trump acting surprised she was fired.

Throughout the entire process, however, Omarosa has been teasing the fact that there is audio of the president using the n-word in a recording. Trump and his administration have vehemently denied those rumors, but now Omarosa has released new audio that suggests the audio may be out there.

Last Monday night, CBS News obtained a recording of several Trump advisers in what is allegedly a discussion about how to handle the audio of the president using the racial slur. Former Trump campaign spokeswoman Katrina Pierson and Lynne Patton were among those discussing the situation with Omarosa on the call.

“I am trying to find at least what context it was used in to help us maybe try to figure out a way to spin it,” Pierson says. “No, he said it. He is embarrassed by it.”

It is important to note that during the call, neither Pierson nor Patton said they had actually heard the audio of the president using the n-word first-hand.

Pierson had previously denied on FOX News Monday night that the call ever took place. Omarosa leaked the audio to the press hours later.

Omarosa’s book, “Unhinged: An Insider Account of the Trump White House,” is set to release on Aug. 14. This is likely just the beginning of the latest reality drama involving Omarosa and her former boss.
