Celtics vs. Warriors Live Stream: How to Watch NBA Basketball Online

With more than half of the NBA season completed, there is a game between two elite teams. These teams are the Boston Celtics and the Golden State Warriors. Entering this season, the Boston Celtics were expected to be potentially overthrow the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference. So far this season, the Celtics have looked ready to accomplish that feat. Currently, the Celtics are 35-14 and have the best record in the conference. However, a win against an elite foe this Saturday will prove that this team is also capable of winning a championship this season. Their opponents in this contest, the Golden State Warriors, are the defending NBA Finals champions and once again look like the best team in the NBA. The Warriors are currently 39-10 and are the definitive favorites to win the championship this season. If the Celtics have any hope of upsetting the Warriors in the NBA Finals, they will have to prove that they can win an extremely difficult road game.

Boston’s success is due to its star point guard Kyrie Irving. During the offseason, the Celtics shocked the NBA world by trading its star point guard Isaiah Thomas to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Kyrie Irving. Since joining the Celtics, Irving has been phenomenal and is an MVP candidate. This season, Irving is averaging 24.5 points per game along with five assists and 3.8 rebounds. If the Celtics have any hope of winning this contest, Irving will need to play extremely well both offensively and defensively.

Golden State’s success has been due to its star point guard Stephen Curry and its star forward Kevin Durant. Both players are former MVP award winners and have proven that they are still elite in today’s NBA. This season, Curry is averaging 27.5 points per game along with 6.6 assists per game. Curry’s statistics are even more impressive once one factors in his efficiency from the floor. Curry is shooting an absurd 49.2% from the field and 42.3% from the three point line. Assisting Curry is fellow superstar Kevin Durant. This season, Durant is averaging 26.0 points per game along with 7.0 rebounds per game. Similarly to Curry, Durant is also extremely efficient from the floor. He is shooting 51.1% from the field and 42.0% from behind the arc. With both players on the same roster, the Warriors are almost unbeatable on a regular basis and I expect Curry and Durant to have big games against the Celtics on Saturday night.

As for my prediction, I have to side with the Warriors. Although the Celtics are a great team, the Warriors are clearly the best team in the league and it is almost impossible to beat them on their home court. I expect Durant and Curry to have big games as the Warriors win relatively easily.

WWE Royal Rumble 2018: Predictions, Analysis & Full Preview

The 2018 Royal Rumble event is rapidly approaching. So far, WWE has produced quite the card for this Sunday’s yearly extravaganza stacked with marquee names, matches, and surprises. Each year, the WWE Universe is treated to the Royal Rumble match; a contest that features the very best superstars from Raw and SmackDown combined with faces from the past, all fighting for a main event spot and world championship opportunity at WrestleMania. However, this year’s event will feature not one, but two Royal Rumble matches. This year, the ladies get to rumble too! They’ll be a 30-man match for the men, as well as a 30-women match for the first time ever.

There are plenty of great matches to watch out for, including a triple threat match for the WWE Universal Championship featuring “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman and “The Big Red Machine Kane” challenging “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar for Monday Night Raw‘s ultimate prize. And don’t’ forget about SmackDown‘s main event featuring the lords of the Yup Movement, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn battling “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles for the WWE Championship in a two-on-one handicap match.

Who will win and who will lose? Let’s take a look into my WWE crystal ball to find out the predictions for the 2018 Royal Rumble…

Triple threat match for the WWE Universal Championship: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Kane vs. Braun Strowman

WWE Royal Rumble 2018: Predictions, Analysis & Full Preview

WWE.com

“The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman has been on a complete path of mayhem to start off 2018 (coming off of a 2017 packed with pure destruction). All the momentum is on his side to pull the trigger and set off on a Strowman Universal Championship run. But WrestleMania is hanging just a short mile over the horizon, and Strowman isn’t established enough to carry the Raw brand into the “show of shows” this April.

“The Big Red Machine” Kane is showing a lot of spark in the twilight of his career. He can still go with the best of them in the ring. Another title run wouldn’t be out of the question, but I can’t imagine Kane going into WrestleMania as Universal Champion. If he does win tonight, he’ll most likely become a transitional champion and drop the strap before ‘Mania.

“The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar will really be put to the test in this match. But I can’t see him losing the strap just yet. Lesnar will need all the momentum he can muster to go into WrestleMania appearing as an absolute beast.

Brock Lesnar retains the WWE Universal Championship

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship match: Seth Rollins & Jason Jordan (c) vs. The Bar (Sheamus & Cesaro)

WWE Royal Rumble 2018: Predictions, Analysis & Full Preview

WWE.com

The unlikely duo of Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan has been surprisingly entertaining. Jordan is playing the role of annoying heel/tweener very well. And Seth Rollins has just been well…Seth FREAKIN’ Rollins…and that should be enough, right?

Despite Jordan’s and Rollins’ surprise in-ring chemistry, it wouldn’t be too much of a shocker to see The Bar walk away with the straps. They’ve been on a tear through Raw‘s tag team division and have been getting over with the crowd as a result.

But I just don’t see The Bar winning at the Rumble…

Jason Jordan & Seth Rollins retain the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship

Two-out-of-Three Falls match for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship: The Usos (c) vs. Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin

WWE Royal Rumble 2018: Predictions, Analysis & Full Preview

WWE.com

Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin have put SmackDown‘s tag team division on notice. A championship victory at the Rumble will propel this team to the top with plenty of hungry teams trying to grab their silver straps.

I would have given this match to Benjamin and Gable if it were not for the rise of Rusev Day. Based upon that team’s vocal response from the audience, it would only make logical sense to throw the titles on them.

All the while, WWE shouldn’t play hot potato with the tag straps. That means those blue and silver belts belong in The Usos Penitentiary for one more night.

The Usos retain the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship

Women’s Royal Rumble Match

WWE Royal Rumble 2018: Predictions, Analysis & Full Preview

WWE.com

The women of WWE will finally have a Royal Rumble match to call their own. This card is packed with former champions and rising stars, all looking to make history in the first-ever 30-woman Royal Rumble match. Who will make history on this night in Philadelphia?

A win for Ruby Riott would catapult this raven-haired starlet to the forefront of SmackDown‘s women’s division. The Riott Squad has been kicking some serious ass on the blue brand. Can their leader win this history-making match?

Who will win? Carmella? Naomi? Tamina? Sasha Banks? Bayley? Becky Lynch? Naomi? Alicia Fox? Natalya? Mandy Rose? Sonya Deville? Nia Jax? Who will it be?

I’m going with the undefeated “Empress of Tomorrow” Asuka….

Asuka wins the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble match

Two-on-One Handicap match for the WWE Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

WWE Royal Rumble 2018: Predictions, Analysis & Full Preview

WWE.com

The Yep Movement has been going wild on SmackDown. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens just may become the first-ever duel-holders of the WWE Championship. But will that even happen? YEP! I mean…maybe.

If Styles can knock off two red-hot stars in one night then he’d truly be phenomenal. Oh wait, he is. But “The Phenomenal One” AJ Styles will be in the fight of his life against the villainous duo of Zayn and KO.

It would be a very interesting move to see WWE put the strap on Zayn and Owens. Many would tune in to see what would the duel-champions do next. But I really can’t see the WWE putting this title on two men at once, especially during WrestleMania Season.

AJ Styles retains the WWE Championship

Men’s Royal Rumble Match

WWE Royal Rumble 2018: Predictions, Analysis & Full Preview

WWE.com

The 30-man Royal Rumble may just be the most exciting and highly-anticipated match of the year. It is a contest full of drama, surprises, action, and sometimes a little bit of comedy.

WWE Royal Rumble 2018: Predictions, Analysis & Full Preview

WWE

“The Big Dog” Roman Reigns may punch his ticket for WrestleMania tonight. The same goes with Shinsuke Nakamura who may dance his way to a WrestleMania showdown with AJ Styles.

But if you ask me who I think will win the Rumble, my answer will be too sweeeettttt….

Finn Bálor wins the 30-man Royal Rumble match

Editor’s Note: Finn Bálor is also my brother’s pick to win the Rumble. Unfortunately, my brother passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. His name is Daniel Dunlop, an artist who goes by the name of FoulFaceKoala. Rest in peace, 12/30/1989 – 01/24/2018

Pro Bowl 2018 Live Stream: How to Watch Online

Ahh, the infamous Pro Bowl where the NFL’s elite come to showcase their skills in a game no one tries in. That is why the NFL has featured skill competitions such as a hands contest and even dodgeball to the weekend to draw a better audience. I will say it is nice to see the players having fun and goofing around, but it doesn’t make for an exhilarating game. This year will be different; the NFL has been trying to find more and more ways to increase the popularity of their version of an all-star game. I think it’s up to the players to fix it and from everything, I’ve gathered this year’s players want to go out and compete which should make this quite the spectacle.

The NFC is loaded with talent and lucky for (5) Eagles players they can’t participate in the Pro Bowl because they’re gearing up for a chance at the ultimate prize. The NFC starting lineups will feature players such as Russell Wilson, Alvin Kamara, Adam Thielen, Dion Jones, Marshon Lattimore, Patrick Peterson, Landon Collins and Earl Thomas.

The AFC is missing (4) Patriots players but is still stacked to the brim with talent. The AFC rosters feature just as much if not more talent than the NFC with guys like Jalen Ramsey, Von Miller, Terrel Suggs, AJ Green, Antonio Brown, Kareem Hunt and Philip Rivers.

This game is going to have a little bit of everything! The leading vote-getter was Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell followed by Tom Brady, teammate Antonio Brown, and Carson Wentz. The Steelers also lead all teams with 8 Pro Bowl selections! The Eagles and the Saints both had four players selected to lead the NFC. The Bears, Jets, and Browns will not have any players in the Pro Bowl. This will actually mark the 3rd consecutive season that Bears haven’t had representation in the Pro Bowl.

Amanda Ruth Schweitzer, a 38-year-old former middle school teacher, has been charged with the sexual exploitation of a minor. Missouri prosecutors have accused Schweitzer of having sex with at least three teenage boys.

A United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri claims that Schweitzer is facing numerous charges after a federal grand jury unsealed a two-count indictment. She has been charged with child kidnapping, first-degree statutory rape and first-degree statutory sodomy in Newton County, and first-degree statutory rape in Jasper County.

Schweitzer was a teacher at North Middle School in Joplin at the time of the alleged offenses.

via The Joplin Globe:

The suits describe incidents of alleged sexual misconduct by Schweitzer with three former North Middle School students, all younger than 15, including incidents alleged to have taken place at the school. The suit against the school district cites the Missouri Human Rights Act, alleging the district “failed to take steps to prevent sexual assault and sexual harassment by its faculty.”

The petition against Schweitzer accuses her of negligent infliction of emotional distress. It alleges she picked up one of the boys from his family’s home after he missed a school bus, took him to her home and had sex with him.

The suit against Schweitzer was brought by the mother of two of Schweitzer’s alleged victims, including the boy she allegedly had sex with in her home. The suit against the school district also includes a second plaintiff, the mother of another one of Schweitzer’s alleged victims.

This is the latest in a string of teacher sex scandals over the last couple of years. In November, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers was arrested. Former nutrition teacher LaToya Parker was also arrested for a relationship with a student. Florida teacher Caroline Lawson was charged with sexual assault. 26-year-old Allyson Moran was also arrested for similar crimes. The 23-year-old high school teacher Katherine Ross Ridenhour was also arrested for an inappropriate relationship.

Furthermore, Hunter Day, 22, was also arrested after a sting operation. Megan Kotarski was also arrested on similar charges. Michelle Schiffer, a 23-year-old history teacher in Texas, was also charged and arrested for allegedly having sex with a teenage student. 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy was arrested in Maryland for her crimes in New Jersey. Samantha Fitzgerland, a 28-year-old, was most recently arrested and charged. Jordan Ondish was arrested for her inappropriate relationship with a 19-year-old, while 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick was arrested on similar charges.

Nicole Marie Andrews was arrested as well. 32-year-old Jessica Langford was arrested and charged with sexual assault-related crimes as well. A teacher from Oregon, Andrea Baber, was accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.  Robin Dunlap, a teacher in Florida, was arrested for sending illicit photos to a 15-year-old boy in Texas. Teacher and tennis coach Jennifer Olajire-Aro was also charged. 42-year-old Heather Butts of California was arrested on a second-degree felony charge. Nancy Leigh Ann Brann, a former Christian school teacher, was arrested for having sex with a student. Coine Audiat pleaded no contest to having sex with a minor in 2016. 23-year-old Darci Lake was arrested for an inappropriate relationship.

Valeria Costadoni was also arrested due to a relationship with her student. 40-year-old Kisha Nuckols was arrested for having sex with a student, too. Hilary Dattilo, a 30-year-old Ohio high school teacher, has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a female student. 30-year-old Missouri teacher Elizabeth Morgan was also arrested on similar charges. Trisha Anderson Rogers, a 47-year-old former student teacher at a North Carolina middle school was sentenced to eight months in prison after pleading guilty to soliciting a young student for sex. 39-year-old Texas teacher Marisela Winn was also charged for her relationship with a student. Gabrielle Bauman who admitted to having a relationship with a student was only sentenced to probation. 29-year-old Dori Meyers has denied accusations against her about a relationship with an underage student.

College Basketball Power Rankings 2018: Week 13 Rankings

If you have yet to watch the immensely physical and disciplined Virginia Cavaliers play basketball, you’re missing out. Despite not having the notable athletes of most elite college basketball programs, the Cavaliers have still managed to stifle their opponents consistently with their potent defense while their offense is adept enough to take and make high percentage shots near the basket. With impressive wins over the likes of Duke and Clemson last week, the Cavaliers emphatically proved that they can not only hang tough within the ACC but that they are arguably one of the best teams in the country. Barring any serious injuries, it’s difficult to imagine the well-coached and fundamentally sound Cavaliers faltering in any way that prevents them from winning the ACC Conference outright.

1. Virginia Cavaliers

I don’t care who you are. Any program that is able to be undefeated in conference play by the end of January deserves strong consideration as being the best team in the country. After staving off a second-half comeback by Duke in their latest victory, the Cavaliers have drawn a line in the sand and are daring any overly confident program to cross it and take them on.

2. Villanova Wildcats

The Wildcats demotion from first to second has more to do with Virginia’s dominance over ranked competition than Villanova’s devastating loss of Phil Booth. Although the Wildcats have other notable and capable playmakers amongst their starting five, they lack the needed depth to hold on to their top ranking for much longer.

3. Purdue Boilermakers

Although the Boilermakers had to utilize every little bit of talent they had on defense and offense to ultimately beat Indiana on the road, their fearlessness and physicality when pursuing the basket is an aspect that will allow them to keep winning regardless of who they play. With Carsen Edwards and Isaac Hayes being the tough-minded leaders of this impressive program, the Boilermakers should continue to make mincemeat out of their upcoming competition.

4. Michigan State Spartans

Despite the despicable scandal that is currently surrounding this program, the Spartans have managed to stay focused on winning consistently within their conference. Although they needed some late-game stops and clutch shots to take out Maryland on Sunday, the Spartans have at least returned to being one of the better defensive programs in the country.

5. Duke Blue Devils

Despite the loss to Virginia over the weekend, the Blue Devils still looked much better on defense than they did at the beginning of the season. However, the Blue Devils need to clean up the silly turnovers and their inaccurate ways when it comes to shooting free throws if they hope to win close games against elite competition (16 turnovers, 45.5 FT% in the loss to the Cavaliers).

6. Xavier Musketeers

Frustrating both Creighton and Seton Hall fans by knocking their respective programs out of the top-25 rankings in back-to-back weeks, the Musketeers relentless shooting ways have allowed them to erase one seemingly insurmountable deficit after another. Considering they are great to exceptional at passing, shooting and rebounding the basketball, the Musketeers may be destined to make another deep run in the NCAA Tournament.

7. Cincinnati Bearcats

For whatever reason, the fantastic defense of the Bearcats has hardly been mentioned in the same breath as the Virginia Cavaliers, whom they are only second to in points allowed per game (56.2). True, the Bearcats competition is significantly weaker, but they have won all but one of their conference contests by double-digits.

8. Arizona Wildcats

With their inexplicable three-game losing streak way back in the rearview mirror, the potent offense of the Wildcats has allowed this program to reach their potential as a top-10 team in the country. While the Wildcats have been playing with fire a bit as they just skirted by Utah in their latest victory, they have at least converted most of their tight game affairs into important wins.

9. Texas Tech Red Raiders

When healthy, the Red Raiders are an elite defensive program that has the potential to make an impressive run in the NCAA Tournament. While their anemic offense will undoubtedly cost them some winnable games down the stretch of the season, their consistent defense should allow them to win more than enough tight games to keep them in conference title contention.

10. Kansas Jayhawks

By defeating Texas A&M over the weekend, the Jayhawks were able to quell some of the noise surrounding their bitter defeat to Oklahoma earlier in the week. While the offense is capable of shooting and making baskets quickly, it needs to be a bit less streaky for them to be considered serious title considers by the end of the season.

11. Saint Mary’s Gaels

Similar to their conference rivals in Gonzaga, the Gaels are a great program that needs more notable victories for them to be considered a competitive team going into the NCAA Tournament. However, the Gaels at least have taken care of business against both of their competitive conference opponents in BYU and Gonzaga.

12. Gonzaga Bulldogs

As the Bulldogs continue to dominate their weak competition, fans and pundits are waiting with baited breath until Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s face off again in a couple of weeks. It’s not personal Bulldogs fans, but your program needs to dispatch BYU and Saint Mary’s in the coming weeks if they want to be taken seriously.

13. Auburn Tigers

With an offense that continues to become more aggressive and efficient each week (86 PPG), the Tigers relentless style of basketball has propelled them to heights that even they would have to concede was unexpected going into this year. Despite the off-court distractions at the start of the season, the Tigers have persevered and have willed themselves to one gritty victory after another.

14. Wichita State Shockers

After losing back-to-back contests two weeks ago, the Shockers did what any great team is supposed to do: they bounced back with a competitive furry. Beating both UCF and Tulsa by 19 points each, the Shockers emphatically put themselves back on the map as one of the deadliest and most efficient scoring teams in college basketball.

15. Oklahoma Sooners

Earlier in the week, the Sooners competed with and ultimately defeated a top-five Jayhawks program to keep themselves in the conversation as one of the best teams in the Big 12. Unfortunately, Oklahoma conceded most of the ground they gained in the aforementioned win as they lost to Alabama over the weekend. It bears repeating: without any type of effort on defense the Sooners are doomed to falling short of winning the Big 12 Conference by the end of the season.

16. Ohio State Buckeyes

Despite a tough loss to Penn State last week, the Buckeyes can hardly be considered pretenders at this point. Although their inconsistent offense is a bit of a concern, the Buckeyes clearly have the pieces to carry them defensively, an aspect that has worked out for them more often than not this year.

17. West Virginia Mountaineers

After appearing to be one of the most well-rounded programs in college basketball just a couple of weeks ago, the Mountaineers have struggled mightily on offense and defense. Losing four of their last five games, the once defensively resilient Mountaineers have relinquished 70 points or more during their last four losses. Where this befuddled program goes from here is anyone’s guess.

18. Tennessee Volunteers

As the Volunteers slowly but surely continue their ascent up the SEC standings, it’s hard not to take notice of a program that lacks electric playmakers yet still somehow finds a way to win consistently. During their last five games, the Volunteers have held their opponents to 63 points or less, an impressive development that should allow them to stay competitive in close affairs even without a prolific offense (76.7 PPG).

19. Rhode Island Rams

Although their schedule may be severely lacking in marquee wins, the Rams have looked fairly dominant during their 12-game winning streak. While their over-reliance on their formidable defense may do them in at some point, it’s to hard argue with the results that they have produced thus far as they are currently undefeated in conference play.

20. Clemson Tigers

Once one of the surprising success stories in college basketball, the underappreciated Tigers may be in serious trouble after losing star forward Donte Grantham to a season-ending injury last week. Luckily, this team does have four other starters that are reliable at making high-percentage shots, which combined with their stingy defense may just be enough to garner them a coveted place in the NCAA Tournament.

21. Kansas State Wildcats

Quietly, the defensively sound Wildcats have won four games in a row, with two of those wins coming against ranked opposition. Although their schedule gets significantly tougher as they face both Kansas and West Virginia this week, they clearly possess the poise and confidence to win one if not both of those intimidating contests.

22. North Carolina Tar Heels

Just when it appeared that they were poised to take over the ACC, the offensively gifted Tar Heels were exposed in back-to-back losses as being overly reliant on Luke Maye and Joel Berry as being their primary scorers. If the Tar Heels have any hopes of persevering down the stretch, they need Kenny Williams and Cameron Johnson to step and be more than just decent mid-range shooters.

23. Florida Gators

Despite their 15-6 overall record, the resilient Gators are currently second in the SEC standings (6-2 in conference play). Although their defense is below average, the Gators do have enough prolific shooters to keep them relevant and competitive as the season progresses.

24. Arizona State Sun Devils

Enjoy it while you still can Sun Devils fans. As their offense continues to be extremely inconsistent, the Sun Devils appear to be simply just throwing the ball up from beyond the arch and hoping that it will go in the hoop. While Arizona State clearly has the shooters to be a great program, their static identity has been exposed far too often for them to sustain any type of consistent success going forward.

25. TCU Horned Frogs

Although it’s been a tumultuous couple of weeks for the Horned Frogs, they have at least fared better recently against solid competition. With a win over West Virginia last week, the Horned Frogs flashed their potential of being a highly efficient offensive team that can do just enough defensively to hang tough with the top tier opponents in the country.

Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony 2018: Time, Date & TV Channel

The first Winter Olympics ever held in South Korea will kick off in PyeongChang on February 9, 2018. The opening ceremony will broadcast on NBC at 8 PM EST and is expected to last around two hours. Flags will be hoisted, nations will be celebrated, and the ceremonial spectacle in South Korea will be a global showcase.

Let’s take a moment and be thankful we have the option to watch the opening ceremony from the comfort of our couches. The talk leading up to this year’s ceremony has been around the newly-constructed open-air PyeongChang Olympic Stadium. The open roof – a choice made to save costs and speed construction -could expose competitors, world leaders, and fans to extreme cold. Early weather reports have predicted that wind chill temperatures could creep to as low as seven degrees Fahrenheit, which would make it the coldest Olympics to date. My living room and small TV work just fine for me.

2018 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony Time, Date & TV Channel

Date: February 9th
Time: 8 PM EST; Live stream starts at 6 AM EST on NBCOlympics.com and NBC Sports app
Location: PyeongChang Olympic Stadium, PyeongChang, South Korea
TV Channel: NBC; Live stream on NBCOlympics.com and NBC Sports app

According to reports, this year’s ceremony will follow the same general schedule as the Sochi Winter Olympics four years ago:

  1. Entry by the head of state
  2. Playing of the national anthem
  3. Parade of participants
  4. Symbolic release of doves
  5. Head of state declares the Games open
  6. Raising of the Olympic flag
  7. The Olympic oath is taken by an athlete, official, and coach
  8. The Olympic flame and the torch relay
  9. The artistic program (the big performance/fun part)

If you want to get a jump on the action, competition is actually scheduled to start the day before. The first rounds of curling (my personal favorite) and ski jumping will take place on February 8th.

Clemson University has suspended all Greek Life social events following a reported sexual assault over the weekend.

According to reports, a public safety alert was sent out on Saturday morning, notifying the university that a sexual assault had allegedly taken place at the Delta Chi Fraternity House. Clemson University police turned the case over to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office to investigate.

At this time, no arrests have been made.

via The State:

A sexual assault was reported at a Clemson University fraternity house over the weekend and the intrafraternity council has suspended all social events in response, according multiple reports.

The sexual assault was reported to Clemson University Police around 12:30 a.m. Saturday by a female on campus, wspa.com reported. The woman told officers that the sexual assault happened earlier in the evening at the fraternity house.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it is investigating the incident that allegedly occurred at Delta Chi Fraternity House in Seneca, according to foxcarolina.com.

Officials say no arrests have been made so far.

Clemson’s Interfraternity Council issued a statement announcing the suspension of all social events held at fraternity houses “until necessary measures are taken”.

The full statement from the university’s Interfraternity council:

The Interfraternity Council at Clemson University is committed to creating an environment for its members to succeed academically, philanthropically, and socially, as well as holding our members to a higher standard.

Therefore, we are suspending all social events at fraternity houses effective immediately. This suspension will be effective until necessary measures are taken. Only events that can take place with alcohol will be located at third party vendors (i.e. mixers downtown and formal events).

The IFC Executive Board met this morning regarding the alleged sexual assault and came to a decision to better our Risk-Management Policy. We will be taking the essential steps to further improve the health and safety of our community here at Clemson.

We are looking forward to working with our partners on campus as well as national headquarters and alumni to achieve our common goal of creating a sustainable environment for all our chapters to excel in future endeavors.

The greek life suspension at Clemson comes after similar decisions were made at Texas State University, the University of Michigan, Florida State University and other schools.

As February inevitably approaches, college basketball programs that have serious aspirations of making and competing in the NCAA Tournament will have a difficult time ignoring the importance of bolstering their respective resumes. While winning a conference title is still and should be a high priority for every program in college basketball, there has to be a heightened sense of awareness when it comes to working towards being apart of one of the most watched and anticipated postseason sports events of the year. As bracketology rankings become more prevalent, teams will inevitably shift their focus to garnering the key wins needed to gain a boost up in their perceived seeding going into the tournament. Starting this week, the journey to the tournament will commence in earnest as a plethora of programs will attempt to make a name for themselves in the national spotlight.
