Police are responding to reports of an assault with a knife Thursday morning at Central High School in Prince George’s County, Maryland. As many as 3 students at the school have been cut or stabbed, according to sources.

Reports indicate that at least one of the Central High Victims has a superficial wound, while another has cut to the abdomen, with a total of 3 students being treated. All three injuries are non-life threatening.

The suspect is believed to be in custody and authorities are currently on the scene. Detectives are on the scene working to establish specific circumstances leading up to altercation.

Central High School is a public magnet high school, located in Capitol Heights, Maryland. The school is part of the Prince George’s County Public Schools system. The school hosts the county’s only high school-level French Immersion magnet program, as well as an International Baccalaureate (IB) magnet program. The school also has AVID. The principal is Ms. Keishia Wallace.

The approximate enrollment, as of March 2017, it is 985 students in grades nine through twelve. The school hours are from 7:25am to 2:25pm. The school operates on an alternating A/B-Day Block Schedule. Central has a mandatory uniform policy in effect.

Gulbahor Becknazar, known as Principessa Persiana on Instagram, is an Instagram model, YouTuber, and a beauty therapist — whatever that means.

Once seen partying with world-class boxer Amir Khan following his breakup with wife Faryal Makhdoom, Becknazar has almost 60,000 followers on the Gram.

According to The Sun, Becknazar is originally from Massachusetts but is currently based in the Middle East. Gulbahor has attended the New York Film Academy and her YouTube bio reads: “I love acting, and I can’t wait to get my first Oscar.”

After attending the New York Film Academy, she has an online showreel and a profile which states that she’s a 5ft3in “part-time model”. It also states: “I’ve acted in different short films, drama, comedy, action. Never been in reality shows but I used to watch different TV shows and I’m ready to be there.”

Amir Khan referred to her as “my girl” in a social media clip of them dancing together in a club and in a taxi. The pair seemed very close in the footage, which was shot in Dubai during a night out. After hitting the news with the video, Gulbahor told her followers: “Whatever I posted today on my story, I posted on behalf of Amir and there’s nothing wrong about it.

Definitely one of the more underrated models on Instagram, Becknazar is definitely worth a for her exotic looks.

LYFT

With Uber having year after year of bad PR, Lyft has gained some serious ground on the ride-sharing giant over the last couple of years, with that trend expected to continue in 2018.

As recently as 2014, Uber, the first-to-market ride-sharing app we all know and (sometimes) love, owned 91% percent of the ride-sharing market. However, after a handful of years of aforementioned poor public relations, Uber’s control of the market widdled down to 74.3% in August of 2017, with Lyft being the main benefactor of their decline.

So how does Lyft plan on continuing this quest of becoming a legit equal to Uber? By making its own beer, that’s how!

According to AdWeek,  Lyft will partner with Baderbräu Brewing in Chicago to create a their own craft beer called Five Star Lager, which is being described as a, “Munich Helles-style lager with a medium body and refreshing finish.”

You’ll find Five Star Lager for sale in bars but not in stores. And those who order the beer will be given up to 60 percent off their next Lyft ride. The brand said the partnership is aimed at ensuring all Lyft customers have a safe and secure way to get home after a night out.

“We decided to partner with Baderbräu for the Five Star Lager launch to encourage more Chicagoans to travel responsibly when they’re out on the town,” David Katcher, midwest general manager for Lyft, said in a statement. “It was important to us to work with a local brewery that cares as much about Chicago as we do, and we found an excellent partner in Baderbräu.”

Last October, Lyft created a Stranger Things-inspired “Strange Mode” for riders in Philadelphia and Los Angeles. The company also recently partnered with Budwesier, releasing a slew of vintage cars with Budweiser logos for the launch of the limited-edition 1933 Repeal Reserve amber lager.

This is the latest alcohol-related marketing move by lift, as they teamed with Budweiser last year at Ohio State to give free rides to students.

Ferrum College students have been told to shelter in place after reports of gunman near campus. Shots have reportedly been fired.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they got a call but said they haven’t found a gun or body. The Franklin County Sheriff’s office reports that the shots were fireed on Prillaman Switch Road near the school. The suspect is reportedly a white male with dark beard and dark hair.

Ferrum College is a private college in Ferrum, Virginia, USA, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia. Ferrum College has the second-oldest environmental science program in the nation and was ranked 41st by U.S. News & World Report in Comprehensive Colleges–Bachelor’s for 2006.

The college itself is on the Virginia Historic Register. Roberts Hall and Beckham Hall are part of the Ferrum College Historic District and listed in the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places.

The creator of an online spreadsheet, Sh*tty Media Men, that listed men in the media that were alleged to have abused women has revealed her identity, writer Moira Donegan, amid rumors that she was meant to be identified by a magazine.

Since its inception, the spreadsheet had been subject to criticism

The original Google spreadsheet was set up in October and was online for 12 hours, listing over 70 men with allegations ranging from sexual harassment to rape.

Donegan revealed her identity in an article for The Cut. As she explained, since the spreadsheet first appeared, the list was subject to both criticism and praise; naming some of the criticism:

“Many called the document irresponsible, emphasizing that since it was anonymous, false accusations could be added without consequence. Others said that it ignored established channels in favor of what they thought was vigilantism and that they felt uncomfortable that it contained allegations both of violent assaults and inappropriate messages. Still, other people just saw it as catty and mean, something like the “Burn Book” from Mean Girls.”

Although she added that some of the detractors were sympathetic, many still thought the idea was too “radical.” As she explained, in time, the list also inspired some companies to launch investigations against some of the men named in the spreadsheet.

Donegan’s original goal was to ‘create a place for women to share their stories’

Originally, however, she wrote that she only wanted to give women a safe space to discuss harassment with worry:

“I only wanted to create a place for women to share their stories of harassment and assault without being needlessly discredited or judged. The hope was to create an alternate avenue to report this kind of behavior and warn others without fear of retaliation.”

That said, she also admitted to becoming “overwhelmed and scared” as more and more names were added to the spreadsheet. She also began to worry that she was risking her career with the list.

She also added that she was surprised by how much focus the list got in the media:

“I was naïve because I thought that the document would not be made public, and when it became clear that it would be, I was naïve because I thought that the focus would be on the behavior described in the document, rather than on the document itself. It is hard to believe, in retrospect, that I really thought this. But I did.”

What inspired Donegan into revealing herself?

Donegan may have been influenced to reveal herself after it was rumored that the author of the spreadsheet was to be named by Harper’s magazine. As speculation grew, it was feared that the previously anonymous creator would be subjected to abuse and threats, with some writers even threatening to stop writing for the magazine in protest.

The writer of a scheduled article discussing the spreadsheet, Katie Roiphe, denied that they would be naming anyone in the article. As she explained to the New York Times, “I would never put in the creator of the list if they didn’t want to be named…I would not have mentioned it without her approval. I want to be clear on that.”

Christian Pulisic is largely considered to be the first American soccer player with the true potential to be a worldwide superstar during his career.

At just 19-years-old, Pulisic has found a way into the starting line-up of Borussia Dortmund and has tangibly improved nearly every week. Because of that, Pulisic has established himself as one of the world’s most tantalizing U20 prospects, trailing only PSG’s Kylian Mbappe in terms of market value.

And while Dortmund is legitimately one of the twenty-or-so biggest clubs in the world, they are not even a blip on the radar of the casual American soccer fan. The Bundesliga is excellent by all means, but the road to turning the United States into a soccer nation goes through one league and one league only: the Premier League.

The most-watched sports league in the world, the Premier League is also the most easily accessible thanks to excellent coverage by NBC. And reportedly, two of it’s most prestigious clubs are reportedly interested in Pulisic. According to Sports Illustrated, Manchester United are willing to match EPL rivals Liverpool if they attempt to sign Pulisic this summer.

According to the Independent, former Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp is a keen admirer of Pulisic and wants to bring him to Anfield next summer. Manchester United are willing to battle Liverpool over the American, with the Red Devils also looking to utilize Pulisic’s huge marketing potential.Pulisic has 20 caps and nine goals for the U.S. men’s national team, and has the potential to become a global superstar both on the pitch and commercially.

Current Man United player Henrikh Mkhitaryan is reportedly eyeing a move back to Dortmund after failing to cement himself in the first team at Old Trafford. This could work in United’s favor, who could use Mkhitaryan in an exchange deal to land Pulisic.

This presents an interesting dilemma for Pulisic, as each club comes with its respective benefits. United are essentially the New York Yankees of soccer in terms of brand recognition and the ability to spend, while Liverpool is more of a Red Sox-esque franchise (both Liverpool & the Sox are owned by Fenway Sports Group, coincidentally). And while off-the-pitch incentives will certainly factor into Pulisic’s decision, in terms of on-the-field opportunity, the decision should be an easy one: Liverpool.

Now, while I am a Liverpool fan (my Pops works for a Liverpool-based company), any soccer mind should be able to see the advantages in Pulisic heading to the Reds, the first and foremost reason being the coaching.

Jose Mourinho, Manchester United’s manager, is known for playing a whatever-it-takes-to-win, park-the-bus style, which doesn’t yield itself to entertaining soccer, especially for an attacking player such as Pulisic. Mourinho is essentially Bill Belichick: clearly an all-time coach but also a grumpy asshole that can be known to alienate his players. Not to mention that should Pulisic sign with United, he’d be joining a midfield that already features similar players such as Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Jesse Lingard.

On the other hand is Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp (think of him as like a Joe Maddon), who is not only known for his open playing style but his open arms as well (dude is a big hugger). Liverpool, even when leading by a couple of goals, will continue to attack, and at times, play some of the most beautiful attacking soccer in the world. With the recent departure of Philippe Coutinho, Pulisic could theoretically slot right into that attacking midfielder role.

If Pulisic wants to be a star on every corner of the Earth, he’ll head to Manchester United. If Pulisic wants to become the best soccer player he can be, he’ll head to Liverpool. Either way, Pulisic signing with a Premier League club is a massive step for both his career and for the future fandom of soccer in the United States.

The Wildcard round is over, and Wild it was! It was full of huge upsets, late comebacks, crazy catches and bitter defeats. I will summarize all of the wild-card rounds with one stat, Blake Bortles rushed for 88 yards and threw for 87 in a 10-3 win over the Bills, Marcus Mariota caught his own pass for a touchdown in a 22-21 upset of the Chiefs, the Falcons are back on track after defeating a young Rams team 26-13, and Drew Brees and the Saints won an epic clash with Cam Newton 31-26. All of these games have set up what is to be an absolutely unforgettable Divisional Round.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Philadelphia Eagles

The Falcons are coming into Philadelphia after defeating the #3 seed Rams 26-13, you could just tell the moment was a little too big for a youthful Rams team. Meanwhile, the Eagles are limping into this one without star QB Carson Wentz who was lost for the season due to a torn ACL. This game will be a good one to watch if Nick Foles can execute and make some tough throws. Atlanta has all the momentum after defeating the Panthers in week 17 to make it to the playoffs and winning their first playoff game against the Rams. Atlanta’s defense looked determined to show why they’re the actual strength of the team, its a heck of an accomplishment to hold the #1 offense to just 13 points. If Atlanta wants to win this game they will have to run the ball on the Eagles top-ranked rush defense and execute in the redone. Atlanta was 5/5 in the redone against the Rams but only scored TD’s on 2 of those attempts, which has been a problem for the Falcons all season. The Eagles will also do their best to establish the run but for a multitude of reasons. The first and most obvious reason is to keep that Atlanta offense off the field, The Eagles know that Atlanta can score on anyone but no one can score if they’re sitting on the sideline. The second reason is that they need to help/protect Nick Floes. They can’t afford to let Nick Foles have to convert 3rd and longs every drive, that’s a recipe for disaster. The 3rd and final reason is that they need to stick to what got them here, they’ve run the ball and played good D all year no point in changing now.

Tennessee Titans vs. New England Patriots

The Titans are rolling into Foxboro after a thrilling come from behind victory over the Chiefs in Arrowhead. The Titans trailed 21-3 at halftime but they didn’t let that discourage them. They battled back and thanks to some lucky bounces (literally) they were able to come back and stun the Chiefs 22-21. Don’t let this game fool you the Titans are going to get smoked by the Pats, they do have a small chance though. New England’s defense dint as superior as it has been in years past and with a running back like Derrick Henry anything possible. The Titans will have to run the hell out of the ball if they want to be in this game. If they run they run the ball and they hold New England to field goals instead of touchdowns they might just have a shot. The Patriots are the typical Pats, they’re the #1 seed and Brady is coming off a season where he leads the NFL in passing yards. Going to Foxboro and winning in any month is hard but its damn near impossible in January just ask Peyton Manning. I fully expect the Pats to blow the doors off the Titans and easily advance to the AFC Championship game.

This game should be interesting and the rematch all of us (mainly Ben Roethlisberger) wanted! Do you remember when they played week 5!? Big Ben threw 5 picks and after the game said he might just not have it anymore (kidding of course). The Jags won that one 30-9 and are coming off another huge defensive effort defeating the Buffalo Bills 10-3. The Jags defense is one of the best units I’ve ever seen but they do struggle against the run. They did a decent job bottling up an injured LeSean McCoy and company, but that’s nothing compared to Le’Veon Bell and the Pittsburgh offense. The Jacksonville offense looked despicable against the Bills and Blake Bortles couldn’t complete a pass for his life! He missed open receivers all over the place, the guy looked like he’s never even played football before. If the Jags are gonna win it’s going come down to Blake Bortles completing passes, So yeah basically not looking good. The Steelers are in full swing finally getting Antonio Brown back from injury. The killer B’s are back in action and looking for revenge! a motivated Big Ben could be a scary thing. The Steelers will mainly rely on Bell to be the bell cow he is to lead them to victory and their defense should have a feast against Bortles.

New Orleans Saints vs. Minnesota Vikings

The NFL saved the best for last, The Saints are going to the Vikings and it should be an absolute firecracker of a game. Sorry, I just always wanted to say that. The Saints and Vikings played week 1 and it saw the Vikings escape with a 29-19 win on Monday Night Football. Both teams are completely different then they were when they met the first time. Case Keenum was the backup to Sam Bradford, Dalvin Cook was the starting running back, Alvin Kamara was a relatively unknown name sitting 3rd on the depth chart behind Mark Ingram and Adrian Peterson, and the Saints D was considered laughable. My of my have things changed! This game is going to feature 2 of the best teams in the NFL! If the Saints want to win they’re going to have to do it with defense. They will score their points, they can just attack you from so many different angles, whether it’s on the ground or air with Kamara and Ingram, or throwing to Michael Thomas, or Ted Ginn Jr. burning you for a long TD and obviously Drew Brees. The Saints are good and my personal pick to make it to the Super Bowl but it’s not going to be easy! The Vikings are rolling into this one, they’ve absorbed so many injuries without skipping a beat it’s pretty outstanding. You gotta tip your cap to Case Keenum, Latavious Murray, Jerrick McKinnon and especially this coaching staff! well done! They have their next great task in trying to beat the Saints. The Vikings have done it all year by playing stellar defense and running the ball effectively. Keenum has proven he can make all the throws and has great chemistry with receiver Adam Theilen and Stefon Diggs. These teams are so evenly matched! It’s going to be so good I’m pacing around my house trying to control my excitement!

Kimberly Hellenburg, a 55-year-old elementary school teacher in Citrus County, Florida, has been arrested for allegedly selling marijuana out of her home.

Hellenburg, a teacher at Pleasant Grove Elementary School, was arrested after deputies say they were able to purchase marijuana from her.

According to reports, the sheriff’s office began investigating illegal drug sales at Hellenburg’s home in Inverness, Florida, several weeks ago. Reports indicate that narcotics detectives were able to purchase large amounts of marijuana from Hellenburg. While searching the residence, police found more than two pounds of marijuana and distribution equipment.

The Citrus County School District said she was employed with the district for the past 29 years and she worked as a physical education teacher. During the investigation, deputies located more than two pounds of marijuana in the home, distribution equipment and at least a half pound of marijuana in her bedroom.

Hellenburg’s son, Brendan Brown, was also arrested in the same home in December of 2017 for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute after deputies learned he was receiving large amounts of marijuana in the mail from California.

A school district spokesperson says the Superintendent will likely recommend suspending Hellenburg without pay during this investigation.

Hellenburg was charged with two counts of sale of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Two people have been shot during active shooter situation at a Norman business in Oklahoma. One person is reportedly in custody.

The shooting happened just before 2:30 p.m. at Bergey Wind Power Company on the 2200 block of Industrial Boulevard in Norman. According to reports, the suspect is the husband of one of the employees who was apparently confronting his wife at the company.

Police said that the unnamed suspect fired at an employee who attempted to intervene.

Witnesses working in the building said they didn’t understand what was happening when he first walked in, thinking it was possibly a joke. But, she quickly realized who it was. Oman said she knew the couple was separated and are having problems.

“I was sitting at the front desk and he walks in and he had one of those gas mask things on so you couldn’t see his face,” said Gail Oman. “I didn’t really know who it was and he had a rifle in his hand and a gun on his side.”

“He just comes in and walked over to his wife,” Oman said. “Then she started to say ‘No, no Bill, somebody call the police, call the police!’ I ran down the hallway then and went out the back and got one of the guys, and one of the guys then called 911, but before I did that I heard a gunshot.”

Another employee tried to stop him, engaged him in a struggle, and shot him with the suspect’s own gun. Both the shooting victim and suspect were rushed to the hospital. Police said the suspect is in stable condition. The victim was taken into surgery.

The suspect’s wife was ultimately not injured in the shooting. Police have yet to publicly identify the suspect.

Her Instagram is nonexistent, likely due inappropriate material (check out her Twitter, for example).

On her Twitch account profile, Vega lists her interests as “horror movies, animals, poetry, writing/reading, conspiracy theories, traveling, art, and emo music”.

With their recent successes like The End of the F***ing World (which currently has 100% on Rotten Tomatoes) and the anime that the internet is obsessed with Devilman Crybaby, Netflix is building their 2018 to be a year full of fresh and new content to binge through.

Continuing the trend of a new “Netflix Original” show each month, Netflix is readying one of their largest (and most expensive) shows, Altered Carbon. The new sci-fi action thriller, which is reported to cost the streaming giant $6-$7 million per episode to make, is set in a futuristic reality where minds can be digitally stored and uploaded into “host bodies” after they decrease… making death insignificant. Starring Joel Kinnaman as a man who is brought back after 250 years of being dead and into a new body he does not recognize, he is tasked with solving the murder of the man who brought him back.

With a visual style reminiscent of sci-fi classics like Blade Runner and The Matrix, Altered Carbon is looking to be Netflix’s first big step into the world of Sci-Fi/Action, and we couldn’t be more hyped! With about half the NBA season completed, there is a game between two elite opponents in the Eastern Conference. These teams are the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Toronto Raptors. Since it is likely that these teams will play against each other in the playoffs, expect this game to be extremely competitive.

Cleveland’s success is due to its best player LeBron James. This season, James is averaging 27.2 points per game on an absurd shooting percentage of 55.8% from the floor. However, James has contributed in a variety of ways besides scoring. James is also averaging nine rebounds per game along with over eight assists per game. Although he is in his 15th NBA season, James has showed no signs of slowing down. James is a contender to win the MVP award this season and now has a chance to cement his case in a nationally televised game. Expect James to have a huge game if the Cavaliers plan on winning this contest.

Toronto’s success is due to its extremely talented backcourt. Guards DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry have been the leaders of this year’s team and also have boasted impressive stats thus far in the regular season. DeRozan is currently averaging 25.3 points per game along with 4.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists. Lowry is averaging 16.2 points per game along with 6.1 rebounds per game. Both of them know what it takes to win these important conference games at home. Expect DeRozan and Lowry to play well on Thursday.

As for my prediction, I have to side with the Cavaliers. Since Cleveland is in the midst of a slump, I expect the Cavaliers to take this game extremely seriously. If the Cavaliers plan on making it back to the NBA Finals, they will need to win these tough road games. Kyle Lowry is also dealing with a back injury and is less than 100% healthy which should limit Toronto’s offensive production in this contest. I expect that Cavaliers to win this game by five points or so.

The NBA season is heating up, and we are starting to see which teams are playoff contenders and which teams are fighting for a top draft pick. We are also almost close to the All-Star game which will take place on February 18th, 2018 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles California. Voting began in December, and according to the official rules, the starters will be determined by the fans (50%), players (25%) and media (25%) vote.

In the first returns which were released six days ago, Milwaukee Bucks small forward Giannis Antetokounmpo was the overall leader in votes with 863,416. Followed by the Lebron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers (856,080 votes) and Golden State Warriors teammates Kevin Durrant (767,402 votes) and Stephen Curry (735,115 votes).

Today the NBA released the second returns on the All-Star voting for the Eastern and Western Conferences. King James took over his throne replacing Antetokounmpo as the highest vote-getter in the NBA. The Bucks forward is now second (1,480,954 votes) followed by Boston Celtics Kyrie Irving (1,370,643 votes), and the Warriors Curry (1,369,658 votes) and Durrant (1,326,059 votes). Voting not only decides the starters but the two captains of each team which is apart of the new All-Star format.

NBA All-Star 2018 Format

There will no longer be the traditional East vs. West format. The NBA decided to take a page out of the NFL’s playbook and have team captains and have players selected/drafted on to each team. Unlike the NFL the captains will not be former Hall of Fame players. The captains will be the All-Star starter from each conference who receives the most fan votes in his conference. Voting stops on Monday, January 15th so make sure you vote for your favorite players. TNT will reveal the All-Star starters plus the two captains on Thursday, January 18th, on their TNT NBA Tip-Off show with Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and host Ernie Johnson.

These are my predictions for the starters coming out of the Eastern Conference. No one is going to come close to the number of votes that James, Irving, and Antetokounmpo have so there is really only two spots available. One guard spot and one place in the frontcourt. I believe New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis will get a big push from New Yorkers in the coming days for that last frontcourt spot. But I just feel Joel Embiid’s greatness on the court and on social media around the country will help him land that spot. For the guard spot, the next closest player is Ben Simmons who I do not believe will get the votes to surpass DeRozan and the phenomenal season he is having.

These are my picks for the starters and captain coming out of the Western Conference. Since his return from an ankle injury, Steph Curry has been lighting up the box score which is why I believe he will edge out his teammate Durrant in votes to become captain. Because of the number of votes they already have Curry and Durant are locked as starters, leaving one guard position open and two frontcourt slots. Although he is a little under 200,000 votes behind James Harden, I believe Russell Westbrook will leapfrog him for the final guard spot mostly due to Harden’s current injury. For the last two frontcourt spots, I chose Anthony Davis who is currently second in frontcourt voting and Pual George. I think George will surpass Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins because of people liking him more than they like those two.

A “gamer” who began her “career” on the video game live streaming network Twitch, Vega eventually expanded her social media profile Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Snapchat. As of this writing, Vega currently has over 500,000 YouTube subscribers, 400,000 Twitter followers, and 100,000 Twitch followers.

Vega lists her interests as “horror movies, animals, poetry, writing/reading, conspiracy theories, traveling, art, and emo music” on her Twitch account.

This morning, Nick Saban is the man of the hour. He breaks hearts of SEC football fans, gives Alabama fans massive sized egos and makes anti-SEC trolls in the sports media want to melt like the wicked witch of the west. Last night, Saban pulled off the best coaching job I’ve ever seen in a major college football game. The guy’s a genius, and geniuses are always rich, but the question is, how rich?

1971-1976

Nick Saban was born on October 31, 1971, in Fairmont, West Virginia. He played college football at Kent State and earned his master’s degree in sports administration in 1975. Saban has spoken about his experience at Kent State during the infamous Kent State shooting. His first coaching job was when he was a graduate assistant with Kent State from 1973-1974 and from 1975-1976 served as the Kent State Linebackers coach.

Nick Saban’s Estimated Net Worth as of 2018: 35 Million

As most would know, a significant chunk of this money comes from his eleven-year tenure at Alabama. When he first accepted Alabama’s coaching job but lets also not forget about his less glamorous coaching tenures at Michigan State, LSU, and the Miami Dolphins. At Michigan State, Saban was paid $700,000 annually for five years, which seems like chump change. When he jumped ship to LSU, he was granted a five-year deal, for 1.5 million annually as a base salary. In 2004, Saban actually signed a seven-year deal with LSU, even though he actually jumped ship to the Miami Dolphins before he could even begin with this new deal. At Miami, he was given a 5 year 22.5 million dollar deal, 4.5 million annually. As we all know, he only stayed for two years before accepting the Alabama job, where he signed an 8 year, 32 million dollar contract. Nick Saban’s current contract is an eight-year deal worth 65 million dollars.

1995-2004

His career as college football head coach began at the University of Toledo. Needless to say, he turned a previously 6-5 team into a 9-2 team in his one season as head coach. After one year at Toledo, he realized he was too good for that job (clearly he was right, sorry Toledo) and took a job as a defensive coordinator under Bill Belichick. What’s most amazing is that what would now be viewed as the dream team of coaching staffs, they earned a 32-34 record throughout their four-year tenure and made the playoffs one of those years and won one game. I guess they’re the dream team coaching staff to any football fan other than Cleveland Browns fans.

After Saban left his job at Cleveland, he became the head coach of Michigan State in 1995 and served for five seasons. His record throughout his tenure was 34-24-1 and went 0-3 in Bowl games. He dropped Michigan State like a hot potato in 1999 when LSU gave him an offer he couldn’t refuse. At LSU, Nick Saban recorded a 48-16 record, went 3-2 in Bowl games, including his first national championship in 2003.

2005-2006

Many football fans claim that Nick Saban can’t coach in the NFL because of his 15-17 record and fail to make the playoffs both years in a row with the Miami Dolphins. However, the idea that Nick Saban can’t coach in the NFL solely because of his tenure in Miami is wildly misinformed about coaching in football and Saban’s situation. Saban wanted to sign Drew Brees, but he didn’t pass his physical. Instead, they ended up signing Dante Culpepper and the franchise hasn’t been the same. If Miami ended up signing Drew Brees, who knows, maybe Saban would have won a SuperBowl and Alabama never would’ve enjoyed his football brilliance. Moreover, most head coaches in the NFL stink at some point in their coaching. Hell, Bill Belichick stunk in Cleveland and Pete Carroll stunk as the Jets head coach. A two-year glimpse isn’t really a fair judgment into Saban’s NFL head coaching career.

2007-Present

Alabama is where Saban finally established his legacy as the greatest college football coach of all time. In his eleven seasons, he now has five national titles with 132-20 record and is 10-4 in Bowl games. The only other legendary coaching tenure that is even comparable at this point is Urban Meyer at Ohio State. But in six years, he only has one national title and is 4-2 in Bowl games. How about Pete Carroll at USC? Sure, “Big balls Pete” was legendary, but he went 7-2 in Bowl games, won 2 national titles and went 97-19 overall. Lets put it this way, Pete Carroll only has lost one game fewer than Nick Saban, despite coaching against a bunch of gym teachers in the Pac-10 and coaching two fewer seasons. In Saban’s first nine years, he had four national titles with Alabama.

All hail King Saban.

Celebrating the whirlwind year that was 2017 in Filmmaking, the 23rd Critics Choice Awards will be presenting awards to the most acclaimed films of the year. Presented by the Broadcast Film Critics Association and hosted by Olivia Munn, the awards will cover a range of categories celebrating multiple genres and areas of filmmaking.

Leading the race for Best Picture, films like Call Me By Your Name, Get Out, Lady Bird and The Shape of Water will be duking it out for the statue while a magnitude of other films are nominated for specific genres. While the awards will be celebrating achievements on-screen, they will also be celebrating the work done behind the camera with awards like Best Director and Best Cinematography. Nominations in categories for Best Actor and Best Actress are full of amazing performances like Daniel Kaluuya in Get Out, Timothée Chalamet in Call Me By Your Name, Margot Robbie in I, Tonya, and Saoirse Ronan in Lady Bird.

If you’re a fan of UFC already I recommend you tune into the fight! This will be one of the best cards of the year and we’re only in January! We have not just one title fight but two! Thanks, Dana! The main event will feature current Heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic taking on top-ranked contender Francis “The Predator” Ngannou. This fight will be electric! Watching those two battle it out will be a spectacle. Francis Ngannou comes in as the favorite after knocking out former top contender Alistair Overeem. Francis has the hardest recorded stand still punch of all time, and he’s looking to become the new face of MMA with this title fight.

The only fight that might rival it would be the Light Heavyweight title fight between current champion Daniel Cormier and Volkan Oezdemir. These two are evenly matched as you could be for a title fight. There are so many good fights on this card I could write forever, even the prelims should be exciting with Gleison Tibau (33-12) vs. Islam Makhachev (14-1) and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
