Penn State University has suspended the school’s Sigma Alpha Epsilon after “several reported violations”

Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s House Corporation Alumni Board decided to make a “proactive, executive decision” to close the fraternity property on December 17 for the rest of the 2017-2018 academic year.

According to Brandon Weghors, SAE’s Chief Communications Officer, local alumni leaders first became aware of the violations on December 5 and decided to proactively apply the suspension shortly thereafter. They suspended all fraternity activity and notified university officials and the national organization.

Furthermore, Weghors said that alternative housing arrangements have been made for members who currently live at the property.

“The House Corporation Alumni Board for Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s chapter at Penn State has made a proactive, executive decision to close the chapter house property. This closure goes into effect on Dec. 17 and will continue for at least the remainder of the 2017-2018 academic year,” the fraternity said in a release.

It started last week when “local alumni leaders initially became aware of several reported violations on Dec. 5.” Those leaders shuttered the chapter’s activity and reported their actions to Penn State and the national organization. Exactly what the violations are was not released. Penn State was equally quiet about the violations, but did confirm its own actions.

“Penn State investigates any report of misconduct it receives. Sigma Alpha Epsilon has been placed on interim suspension by the university while it conducts its own investigation of the allegations through Penn State’s Conduct Process,” spokeswoman Lisa Powers said.

Other investigations are being conducted by the fraternity on both the local and national level.

This suspension comes at a tumultuous time for Penn State Greek Life, as all Pennsylvania State University fraternities were placed under a social ban following the tragic death of student Timothy Piazza of New Jersey, who fell down the stairs at Beta Theta Pi in February after an alcohol-related hazing ritual.

The FCC will be voting on six new laws today, one of which is the net neutrality law.

Federal regulators are voting today to allow Internet providers to speed up service for some apps and websites and block or slow down others. The decision would repeal Obama administration regulations for broadband companies such as AT&T and Verizon.

The committee first voted on Blue Alert laws. The Blue Alert will provide the means to speed the apprehension of violent criminals who kill or seriously injure local, state, or federal law enforcement officers. The second item on the docket is in regards to telehealth.

The vote on Net Neutrality is expected to come later in the meeting.

Net neutrality is the principle that Internet service providers must treat all data on the Internet the same, and not discriminate or charge differently by user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or method of communication.

Under these guidelines, internet service providers are barred from intentionally blocking, slow downing or charging money for specific websites and online content.

Sailor is actually the first second generation SI model and is looking to top her mother success. Her mother is actually the one who reveled she made the SI team in an emotional video.

Alexis Ren is a 21 year old american born actress born and raised in Santa Monica California and was the cover of Maxim’s Cover Girl in August 2017. She is a huge proponent of “anti slut-shaming” and looks to help young girls with eating disorders.

Kate Wasley is 21 years old and is breaking the mold of what a model needs to look like. She is helping transform the stereotype and doing it along side and fellow SI rookie Georgia Gibbs. Wasley also hails from Australia and has been modeling since the age of 16.

Anne De Paula was the winner of the 2017 Model Search and will be blessing our eyeballs in this years SI Swimsuit addition. She was born in Brazil but she never planned on being a model but counted be happier to have the opportunity.

Kettering Police Department

Madeline Marx, a 23-year-old substitute teacher in Ohio arrested for having a sexual relationship with at least two of her teenage students, has pleaded insanity.

Arrested in early November, Marx was indicted on two charges of sexual battery for allegedly having sexual relations with two 11th grade students during her two years as a substitute teacher at Kettering Fairmont High School.

Appearing in court on Wednesday, December 13, Marx requested medical examinations to assess whether she can enter a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity. According to WHIO, Judge Steven Dankof told Marx to “hang in there, you’ll get through this, you’ll be all right” as she wept in the courtroom.

Marx is accused of multiple offenses. First, she is accused of having intercourse with a 16-year-old boy on September 21 in the parking lot of an apartment building an eight-minute drive from the school. She is also accused of performing oral sex on a 17-year-old in the parking lot of a Big Lots furniture on July 19. Furthermore, she is also been accused of sending nude photos to one of the teens.

A prosecutor’s office press release indicated Marx also substitute taught in Oakwood. School officials in Oakwood sent parents a letter saying that they did not know of any victims in their school district.

State records indicated Marx has a four-year teaching license as a K-12 education intervention specialist.

Marx graduated in 2012 from Chaminade Julienne High School in Dayton and graduated from the University of Dayton in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in education, according to CJ and UD officials. According to her UD transcript included in her personnel file, Marx withdrew from a fall 2013 class on sexual ethics.

Marx plans to submit motions seeking competency and a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.

This is the latest in a string of teacher/student sex scandals this year. In November, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers was arrested. Former nutrition teacher LaToya Parker was also arrested for a relationship with a student. Florida teacher Caroline Lawson was charged with sexual assault. 26-year-old Allyson Moran was also arrested for similar crimes. The 23-year-old high school teacher Katherine Ross Ridenhour was also arrested for an inappropriate relationship.

Furthermore, Hunter Day, 22, was also arrested after a sting operation. Megan Kotarski was also arrested on similar charges. Michelle Schiffer, a 23-year-old history teacher in Texas, was also charged and arrested for allegedly having sex with a teenage student. 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy was arrested in Maryland for her crimes in New Jersey. Samantha Fitzgerland, a 28-year-old, was most recently arrested and charged. Jordan Ondish was arrested for her inappropriate relationship with a 19-year-old, while 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick was arrested on similar charges. Nicole Marie Andrews was arrested as well.

At least four children dead after school bus and train collided in Millas in southern France. The victims are 8 to 17 years old.

According to local reports in France, the collision took place on the axis Perpignan and Villefranche-de-Conflent around 4:30 PM local time. According to France Bleu , the bus was hit in the back. The regional news site reports that the barrier at the Los Palaus crossing, where the accident occurred, was down.

Traffic has been interrupted between the two cities.

Five years ago, mass murderer Adam Lanza walked into Sandy Hook Elementary School where he shot and killed 26 people, including 20 children and 6 adults in Newtown, Connecticut. Today, we pay tribute to the victims of the tragedy by remembering those who were lost through photos that are both heart-breaking and heart-warming.

On December 14, 2017, Adam Lanza committed the fourth-deadliest mass shooting by a single person in U.S. history.

Twenty little children and six female staffers became angels as a result of the Sandy Hook massacre. Lanza gunned down children between the ages of six and seven years old. He gunned down staffers between 27 and 52 years old.

The horror of the Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting lives on to this day. But through the terror, heroes emerged. Principal Dawn Hochsprung, school psychologist Mary Sherlach, and lead teacher Natalie Hammond sought out the sound of gunfire and found the shooter. All three women called out, “Shooter! Stay put!” which alerted her colleagues and most likely saved lives. Both Hochsprung and Sherlach lost their lives as a result of the tragedy. However, Hammond was able to survive despite getting shot twice by Lanza.

Before the Sandy Hook Shooting, Lanza had shot and killed his mother Nancy at their home in Newtown, Connecticut. He then took her Bushmaster XM15-E2S rifle and went on the deadliest mass shooting at a grade school in U.S. history.

After five minutes of intense shooting, the gunman turned his weapon on himself. Police report hearing the final gunshot at 9:40:03 A.M. It’s not officially known why he carried out the mass shooting, but a report issued by the Office of the Child Advocate in November 2014 said that “his severe and deteriorating internalized mental health problems… combined with an atypical preoccupation with violence… (and) access to deadly weapons… proved a recipe for mass murder”.

This morning, the Walt Disney Company reached an agreement to acquire 21st Century Fox, including the Twentieth Century Fox Film and Television studios, along with all of Fox’s cable and international TV businesses. The deal is worth approximately $52.4 billion in stock, and simply put, reshape the entertainment industry.

According to New York Times, the acquisition means that Disney now has enough muscle to become a true competitor to Netflix, Apple, Amazon, Google and Facebook in the fast-growing realm of online video. While the deal does not Not includedFox News, the Fox broadcast network and FS1, 20th Century Fox, will be downsized, with some operations folded into Walt Disney Studios or refocused to make films designed for online distribution.

The Walt Disney Company and Twenty-First Century Fox, Inc. today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement for Disney to acquire 21st Century Fox, including the Twentieth Century Fox Film and Television studios, along with cable and international TV businesses, for approximately $52.4 billion in stock (subject to adjustment). Building on Disney’s commitment to deliver the highest quality branded entertainment, the acquisition of these complementary assets would allow Disney to create more appealing content, build more direct relationships with consumers around the world and deliver a more compelling entertainment experience to consumers wherever and however they choose. Immediately prior to the acquisition, 21st Century Fox will separate the Fox Broadcasting network and stations, Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, FS1, FS2 and Big Ten Network into a newly listed company that will be spun off to its shareholders.

Under the terms of the agreement, shareholders of 21st Century Fox will receive 0.2745 Disney shares for each 21st Century Fox share they hold (subject to adjustment for certain tax liabilities as described below). The exchange ratio was set based on a 30-day volume weighted average price of Disney stock. Disney will also assume approximately $13.7 billion of net debt of 21st Century Fox. The acquisition price implies a total equity value of approximately $52.4 billion and a total transaction value of approximately $66.1 billion (in each case based on the stated exchange ratio assuming no adjustment) for the business to be acquired by Disney, which includes consolidated assets along with a number of equity investments.

Combining with Disney are 21st Century Fox’s critically acclaimed film production businesses, including Twentieth Century Fox, Fox Searchlight Pictures and Fox 2000, which together offer diverse and compelling storytelling businesses and are the homes of Avatar, X-Men, Fantastic Four and Deadpool, as well as The Grand Budapest Hotel, Hidden Figures, Gone Girl, The Shape of Water and The Martian—and its storied television creative units, Twentieth Century Fox Television, FX Productions and Fox21, which have brought The Americans, This Is Us, Modern Family, The Simpsons and so many more hit TV series to viewers across the globe. Tweets have surfaced of reports of an active shooter at Taylor High School. There was a school shooting a week earlier at Aztec High School in New Mexico.

The tweets come on the fifth anniversary of the deadly Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown that left 20 children dead.

That is all the information at this time and we will update it if/when more becomes available. Without further information, it appears that this was a bad hoax by some teenagers.

The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting occurred on December 14, 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut, when 20-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot 20 children between six and seven years old, as well as six adult staff members.

Prior to driving to the school, he shot and killed his mother at their Newtown home. As first responders arrived at the scene, Lanza committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. The incident was the deadliest mass shooting at either a high school or grade school in U.S. history and the fourth-deadliest mass shooting by a single person in U.S. history.

Last week,  William Atchison, 21, entered the Aztec High School in New Mexico around 9 AM local time, causing the school to be placed on lockdown. Atchison shot and killed two students before taking his own life.

Manny Machado is a Dominican-American professional baseball player, a third baseman for the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball.

Machado is one of the most electrifying young players in all of baseball, only 25-years-old he has already made three All-Star game appearances and has won two Gold Glove Awards (2013 & 2015). He has helped lead the Orioles to three playoff appearances in his six years with the team. Machado is in the last year of his current contract and expects to get paid very well when he becomes a free agent, which has led the Orioles to hear out other MLB teams willing to trade for the third-baseman.

2014-2016

As great of a baseball player Macahdo is he has had moments where he has lost his temper leading to a few ejections and a couple of benches clearing brawls. Machado was involved in a benches clearing brawl in a game against the Oakland A’s. After an earlier incident with A’s third baseman Josh Donaldson, Machado threw his bat in the direction of A’s pitcher Fernando Abad who had throw a few pitches to close for comfort. He would go on to receive a five game suspension. In 2016 in a game against the Kansas City Royals Macahdo was hit in the back with a 99 mph fastball, which led to him charging the mound and punching Royal’s pitcher Yordano Ventura in the face. Both players were suspended for four games.

2017-Present

During a heated rival game against the Boston Red Sox, Machado slid into second-baseman Dustin Pedroia which would eventually keep him out of three games. Although Machado insisted that there was no ill intentions with the slide, Many Red Sox pitchers took aim at Machado clearly attempting to hit him on multiple occasions one of which nearly hit Machado in the head. He expressed his displeasure with the MLB and Red Sox in a profanity-laced tirade. Machado dealt with some early offensive strugles but was able to end the season with 33 homeruns 95 runs batted in. With winter meetings in full affect in will be interesting to see who will be the front runners in the Machado trade sweepstakes or if the Orioles will hold on to him until the trade deadline.

Warner. Bros just loves f*cking up, don’t they? Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice was kind of a mess, Justice League was a definite mess, but Suicide Squad was by far THE biggest mess of all.

Yet despite the fact that not only was the movie panned, but specifically Jared Leto’s portrayal of the Joker was almost universally panned, the studio seems dead set on moving forward with the character anyway, not only featuring him in Suicide Squad 2, but also developing a standalone movie for him and Harley Quinn. At least according to Robbie’s latest interview.

The untitled Joker/Harley Quinn project is being helmed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, directors and executive producers of the hit NBC drama This Is Us and who also wrote and helmed the 2011 film Crazy, Stupid, Love.

Jared Leto (bad) and Margot Robbie (good) are set to reprise their roles as the love-locked villains.

Insiders say that the plan is for this feature to go after the studio makes a sequel to Suicide Squad. The latter is on the development fast-track and out to directors. But the Joker and Harley Quinn movie is also moving fast as Warners has to contend with actors’ holding agreements, say sources.

The film is described as a “criminal love story,” according to one source, featuring the two murdering maniacs who are cornerstones in the Batman mythos. One insider offered this: “an insane and twisted love story. When Harry Met Sally on benzedrine.”

Additionally, the project falls within Warners’ main line of movies based on their DC properties. That includes the current pics released and in production that feature Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, among other characters who collectively form the Justice League.

Warner Bros. just doesn’t get it and likely never will.

Migos are a Southern Hip-Hop trio formed in 2009, by Quavo (born Quavious Keyate Marshall), Takeoff (born Kirshnik Khari Ball), and Offset (born Kiari Kendrell Cephus). Paul Ryan, born January 29, 1970, is an American politician who is the current Speaker of the United States House of Representatives. Ryan is the 54th Speaker of the House in United States history.

In 2012, Ryan was the Republican Party nominee for Vice President of the United States, running alongside former Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts.

Ryan has served as the U.S. Representative for Wisconsin’s 1st congressional district since 1999. In 2015, Ryan was elected to replace John Boehner as Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, becoming the first person from Wisconsin to hold this position.

On May 4, 2016, Ryan said he was hesitant to endorse then Republican-nominee Donald Trump. Ryan and Trump met in private on May 12, releasing a joint statement afterward, acknowledging their differences but stating “we recognize that there are also many important areas of common ground.”

On December 14, 2017, it was announced that Ryan was considering retirement in 2018.

The Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity that has been suspended at the University of Houston until 2023 has been indicted by a grand jury. The disgraced fraternity was indicted for the alleged cruel treatment of pledges. The charges were announced on Thursday, December 14.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office clarifies the misdemeanor indictment is for the fraternity as a group, not for one specific individual.

According to reports, the hazing incident in question was reported over three nights to stretch during November 2016. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office alleged that the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, also known as PIKE, caused their pledges to be “weakened physically, and broken down mentally.”

“Brotherhood and collegiate good times should be safe and hazing is not,” Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said in a written statement. “It is also illegal and that should be recognized by the dozens of fraternities and sororities on college campuses all over the Houston area.”

Furthermore, the DA office alleged that the fraternity to force pledges to roll around in their own waste.

The fraternity made the pledge roll around in vomit, spit and feces, as well as going without food, drink and sleep, prosecutors claim.

Prosecutors added the pledge reportedly took part in a game of tag that involved a frat member tackling him. The pledge was hospitalized with a lacerate spleen.

“Brotherhood and collegiate good times should be safe and hazing is not,” said Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg. “It is also illegal and that should be recognized by the dozens of fraternities and sororities on college campuses all over the Houston area.”

Pi Kappa Alpha faces a fine of up to $10,000 if convicted.

The indictment comes at a time when large universities are undergoing major Greek life overhaul, as schools such as joining the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State and Penn State have recently suspended Greek Life.
