N.E.R.D has been spreading funk since 1999. The group is made up of Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo, and Shay Haley. Their newly released fifth studio album has already achieved “universal acclaim” on Metacritic with an average score of 84 based on four reviews.

G-Eazy dropped his third studio album at midnight. The Beautiful & Damned is a double album released by RCA Records (Sony Music). The album was officially released on Friday, December 15, 2017. Some of the guest on G-Eazy’s new album include ASAP Rocky, Cardi B, Charlie Puth, Anna of the North, Kehlani, Jay Ant, and E-40 (a big influence on G-Eazy’s music).

The California-born rapper said that he will call out white supremacists and Trump supporters in his new album (not that the two are one in the same, especially considering that there is Trump supporters of every background). In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, G-Eazy said, “The world is on fire right now, and there are certain things that need to be talked about. When [rapper] YG asked me to do the remix of “F— Donald Trump,” I didn’t think about how that would alienate some of my fans. I just felt like that was something that I had a responsibility to do, and a desire to do.”

G-Eazy revealed the concept of his album in an interview with Angie Martinez:

“The concept of it is kinda split in half and it’s two CDs, but for all intents and purposes its 20 songs, it’s just a long album,” he explained. “The concept of it is kinda like its about the lifestyle, ‘The Beautiful and Damned’. Like being a kid, having the dream of doing this, starting from square one, from outside looking in from without having nothing — to chasing this dream, and then all these years down the road of following this yellow brick road trying to get to where you’re going, one day waking up and being like, ‘Did it take me where I wanted to go?’ This fantasy of, like, sex, drugs, & rock ‘n’ roll is kinda clichéd, but it’s clichéd for a reason. It’s dark.”

Students at the University of Southern California have created a petition to have Bryan Singer’s name removed from the university’s film school amidst sexual harassment allegations. Singer has been accused of numerous sexual crimes, including raping a 17-year-old boy.

Following the allegations against Singer, he was forced to step down from directing the upcoming Freddie Mercury biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody.  After Singer’s departure, Fox hired Dexter Fletcher (Eddie The Eagle) to replace him.

According to the petition posted to Change.org, the students at USC are calling for Singer’s named to be removed from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. Singer, director of films such as The Usual Suspects and X-Men, has recently been accused of sexual harassment and assault multiple times.

In 2014, Singer’s film X-Men: Days of Future Past was nearly called ouff when actor Michael Egan III filed a civil suit alleging that Singer drugged him and “forced him into sex at parties in Encino and Hawaii — starting when Egan was only 15.”

The university recently denied a $5 million donation from Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, a decision which the students “applaud”.

We, the students of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, are formally requesting that Bryan Singer’s name be removed from our Division of Cinema and Media Studies. It is completely unacceptable that this prestigious department within our school still carries the name of Bryan Singer, a man accused multiple times of sexual harassment, assault, and pedophilia.

Despite Singer’s philanthropic work for SCA, having his name attached to a division of the School of Cinematic Arts gives the impression that we, both as an institution and as members of the entertainment industry, value his financial contributions over the safety, respect and future of students. It sets a precedent of lenience for sexual criminals and further undermines the visibility and respect that victims of harassment and assault deserve.

Sexual harassment and assault are prevalent issues in Hollywood, the entertainment industry, and the American workplace as a whole, and they require action to catalyze change, little by little. By continuing to associate Mr. Singer’s name with our university, USC is openly supporting a man who has been publicly accused of reprehensible sexual misconduct. As USC students and alumni, we hold ourselves to a standard of respect, and the SCA administration’s actions are not representative of that standard. We applaud USC and SCA for refusing Harvey Weinstein’s donation; however, this division name change is overdue, and it is a gross administrative error that it has been allowed to remain. It is only consistent with our institutional morality to make this change.

As students of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, we implore Dean Elizabeth Daley and the appropriate administration to change the name of the Bryan Singer Division of Cinema & Media Studies to simply the SCA Division of Cinema & Media Studies. Our university should promote education, respect, and consent, as well as prepare its students to be model members of the USC and entertainment communities, and this continued relationship with Mr. Singer publicly negates those values.

As of the time of this writing, the petition has over 4400 signatures.

Two Colorado doctors claim they have documented the first case of a cannabis overdose.

The doctors, Drs. Thomas Nappe and Christopher Hoyte, published their findings in the medical journal Clinical Practice and Cases in Emergency Medicine. According to Dr. Nappe and Hoyte, an 11-month-old boy was the first person to die of from a marijuana overdose.

The study reports that the infant, who died in 2015, was rushed to the emergency room after having a seizure. The boy’s guardian told doctors that the child had been retching, was “irritable” and lethargic in the days leading up to his hospitalization. KSUA reports that a team of doctors, including both Hoyte and Nappe, examined the boy but found he was otherwise healthy. The unidentified child became unresponsive in the hospital and was given a breathing tube as his condition worsened. Doctors said the boy’s heart stopped and, despite efforts to resuscitate, the child died.

“The only thing that we found was marijuana. High concentrations of marijuana in his blood. And that’s the only thing we found,” Hoyte said. “The kid never really got better. And just one thing led to another and the kid ended up with a heart stopped. And the kid stopped breathing and died.”

The case report makes what amounts to a very bold statement in the scientific world, “As of this writing, this is the first reported pediatric death associated with cannabis exposure.”

If correct, the phenomenon Dr. Hoyte claims to have documented would remain the only time a marijuana overdose is known to have caused a human death.

However, despite Hoyte and Nappe’s findings, other doctors are reportedly skeptical of the “strong language” used in the report.

“That statement is too much. It’s too much as far as I’m concerned,” said Dr. Noah Kaufman, an emergency medicine specialist based in Northern Colorado. “Because that is saying confidently that this is the first case. ‘We’ve got one!’ And I still disagree with that.”

Following the child’s death, doctors found tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in the child’s blood and urine. THC is the main psychoactive ingredient in marijuana.

Another woman has come out with claims about Matt Lauer’s conduct while working on TODAY for NBC.

Addie Zinone, a woman who began her career as an intern at The Today Show before being promoted to a PA, claims she had a sexual relationship with Matt Lauer.

In an essay published by Variety,  Zinone says she went to lunch with Lauer in July 2000 to ask him for job advice. She says at this time, Lauer began to aggressively hit on her. When the two returned to work, he sent her a message that read: ‘meet me’.

Text messages seen by Variety shows that Lauer telling Zinone to head to an empty dressing room above Studio 1A so the two could have sex before he left at 3pm. Lauer sent that text at 2:42 PM. Lauer was just two years into his marriage with second wife Annette.

A few months later, she landed her dream job as production assistant, forming close bonds with her new colleagues Katie Couric, Ann Curry and Al Roker. But Matt Lauer kept more of a professional distance—until Collins (who now goes by her married last name Zinone) was ready to leave the show.

One day in July 2000, he invited her to lunch, which Zinone thought would be a chance to ask him for career advice. Instead, Lauer, who was in his 40s and newly married, started to aggressively hit on the 24-year-old employee. Zinone felt dumbstruck and numb. Intimidated by his stature, she gave in to his flattery, and she entered into a month-long relationship with Lauer, who would arrange to secretly meet her in his dressing room.

Although Zinone’s situation was consensual, she saw parallels between her own story and several accounts from the unnamed victims. Her situation is different than other allegations against Lauer, which involved unwanted advances. But it illustrates what can happen when a prominent person brings sex into the workplace, and there’s an imbalance of power. For Zinone, Lauer’s behavior had a devastating and lasting effect on her personal and professional life

Soon after this incident, Zinone left her media job and decided to enlist in the Armed Forces.

Stephanie Smith, a 43-year-old mother from California, is being questioned by authorities after they discovered a marijuana growing operation that included over 24,000 plants.

On Wednesday, December 13, San Bernardino police raided properties that belonged to Smith after detectives investigated a tip about marijuana being grown in an empty warehouse after neighbors complained about two months ago.

When raiding the facility, authorities realized they had found multi-building operation. Police believe that Smith’s marijuana growing operation was netting millions of dollars-a-month in profit.

San Bernardino Police say eight people were detained when they raided the warehouse. Despite this, Smith was neither arrested nor charged with a crime.

Investigators first turned their sights on the illegal grow operation about two months ago after receiving complaints from neighbors. They found the once-abandoned warehouse had been outfitted with a 12-foot metal rolling fence, “fortified doors,” a large concrete wall around the parking lot and surveillance cameras.

Inside the four-story warehouse, police found thousands of plants stacked next to one another under heat lamps on wood tables and an advanced irrigation system. The electric bill for the property was about $67,000 per month, police said.

“In my 26 years, it was the biggest grow that I’ve ever seen,” San Bernardino police Lt. Mike Madden said. “There were all different rooms for different processes and hydration, filtration and ventilation. It was pretty extensive.”

According to sources, Smith was making millions of dollars per month running the operation. At this time, while it is unclear whether she will be arrested, if charges are filed, Smith faces a misdemeanor, jail time and a fine at the state level.

While California is among 29 states where pot is legal, either for medical or recreational use, police said that Smith was not authorized to grow marijuana on this scale.

Jessica Langford, a 32-year-old former, Miamisburg, Ohio teacher who was indicted on charges of sexual battery and unlawful sexual conduct, has been accused of having oral sex and intercourse with the alleged victim.

According to court records filed by the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office., Langford, a 32-year-old from Centerville, Ohio, is accused of giving and receiving oral sex from an unidentified teenage student from Miamisburg Middle School student in May of 2017.

Furthermore, Langford, who was teaching at the middle school in Miami Township, is also accused of having intercourse with the teen.

The document states she twice performed oral sex, twice received oral sex, and twice had intercourse with the teen “on or about May 23.” That date is one day before school district officials said she resigned after being confronted with allegations involving inappropriate conduct with a student and placed on administrative leave.

Prosecutor Mathias Heck Jr. has said the alleged victim is a 14-year-old student with whom the veteran middle school teacher had “inappropriate sexual conduct.”

Langford was indicted Nov. 14 on three counts of sexual battery and three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. On Nov. 21, she pleaded not guilty to all counts, court records show.

This is the latest in a string of teacher/student sex scandals this year. In November, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers was arrested. Former nutrition teacher LaToya Parker was also arrested for a relationship with a student. Florida teacher Caroline Lawson was charged with sexual assault. 26-year-old Allyson Moran was also arrested for similar crimes. The 23-year-old high school teacher Katherine Ross Ridenhour was also arrested for an inappropriate relationship.

Furthermore, Hunter Day, 22, was also arrested after a sting operation. Megan Kotarski was also arrested on similar charges. Michelle Schiffer, a 23-year-old history teacher in Texas, was also charged and arrested for allegedly having sex with a teenage student. 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy was arrested in Maryland for her crimes in New Jersey. Samantha Fitzgerland, a 28-year-old, was most recently arrested and charged. Jordan Ondish was arrested for her inappropriate relationship with a 19-year-old, while 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick was arrested on similar charges. Nicole Marie Andrews was arrested as well.

2016-Currently

Kristaps in his sophomore season showed great improvement as a basketball player. In the 2016-2017 season Porzingis averaged 18.1 PPG (4 points more then his rookie year), along with 7.2 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks. During the summer of 2017 the Knicks traded there star forward and number one scoring option, Carmelo Anthony, to the Oklahoma City Thunder. By trading Carmelo it opened the door for Kristaps to become the Knicks go to guy at the offensive end of the floor. Kristaps since the beginning of the 2017-2018 season has shown the NBA that he is more than capable of being the number one guy on offense. He has played so far this year 23 games, and is averaging 26 PPG to go along with 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks a game. The 7 foot unicorn, aside from having a career year, has the Knicks fighting for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The future looks pretty bright for Mr. Porzingis and New York’s storied basketball franchise.

Grayville Police Department

Nancy Robinson, a teacher at Grayville High School in Illinois, was cited for possession of marijuana after a K-9 sweep of the high school.

According to Illinois state law, possession of cannabis, 10 grams or less, is a civil offense and punishable with a fine of up to $200. Police said they found 2.5 grams of cannabis and a smoking device in Robinson’s after K-9 unit swept the school for illegal narcotics.

A Facebook post from the Grayville Police Department said that Robinson, from Carmi, Illinois, was cited for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Dec. 13, 2017 Grayville Police Department along with several K-9 units from surrounding departments conducted a detail a Grayville High School. During the detail, K-9’s were used to conduct a sweep of the school and school grounds for any illegal drugs. One K-9 did alert on a 2008 Jeep owned by Nancy B Robinson from Carmi. Once making contact with Robinson it was found that less than 2.5grams of Cannabis along with a smoking device was recovered from the vehicle.

Robinson was cited for Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. No other items were found or recovered in or outside the school. I would like to thank all the participating department K-9 units that assisted today. Edwards County Sheriff Department, Mt. Carmel Police Department, Carmi Police Department and Robinson Police Department.

Police said no other drugs were found on the school property.

We are in for another fantastic battle on December 16th when Former Welterweight Champ Robbie Lawler takes on Rafael Dos Anjos in the Main Event. Lawyer and Dos Anjos have very different styles of fighting, Lawler is a brawler (yes I did that on purpose), Robbie likes to keep the fight up in the air and does whatever he can to stay off the mat. He has the striking ability to knock out anyone that steps in the octagon with him, averaging over 3.5 significant strikes per minute. Besides just landing strikes, Lawler finishes strikes, meaning his punches pack a serious punch. Robbie has a 28-11 record in his career but comes in a winner of 9 of his last 11 fights. Dos Anjos on the other hand is a fighter who isn’t afraid to take the fight to the ground. Rafael has competed in 37 professional fights through out his up and down career. He is on quite the upswing as of late winning 12 of his last 15 bouts. Dos Anjos is riding a extra high after receiving The Performance of The Night at UFC 215 with a win over Neil Magny. Dos Anjos is giving up 3 inches on his reach which can prove to be extremely important. If Dos Anjos can’t take the fight to the mat and neutralize Lawlers punching ability it will be a loooooong night for Dos Anjos.

Besides those 2 studs in the Main Event this card is riddled with great fighters squaring off. Ponzinibbo is taking his 26-3 record up against young up and coming fighter in Mike Perry. Also featured on this card will be standouts such as Josh Emmett, Glover Texeira, and Danny Roberts.  This will be a must watch night of fights, my prediction that Lawler beats Dos Anjos in a split decision, both men with be bloody and beaten but when its all said in done it will be Lawlers hand in the air.

Production on Game Of Thrones final season has officially been underway for over two months now, meaning not only have the actors read season 8’s script, but are likely acting it out as we speak.

When we last left our Westerosi heroes, the Starks were manning Winterfell preparing for the Great War, Jaime Lannister was headed north to join them, while the Night King and his new found toy, an undead dragon, were ripping through the Wall. Less than ideal, to say the least.

And in just another year or so — but likely not until 2019 — we’ll all know how all these tantalizing storylines come to an end. But, like I said, the actors themselves already known, and are starting to give vague opinions on the ending itself.

“We’ve imagined it for so long. There’s also an ambiguity every season when we would get the scripts: “Is this the season where we die?” To have made it this far is pretty unbelievable, considering the amount of deaths there have been. All of us have always had discussions about theories about what we think is going to happen — who’s going to die, who’s going to end up ruling. Now, we know. It almost feels like another one of our theories. It doesn’t even feel like it’s what’s actually happening. It’s very satisfying.”

Beloved shows have come and gone, and more often than not, there’s at least a vocal minority of fans who are unhappy with the ending. Is there something freeing in knowing some people will be inevitably disappointed with how Game of Thrones ends, even if you find the ending satisfying?

“Absolutely. It almost puts all of our minds to rest, just knowing the ending and being happy with that, no matter if anyone likes it or not. There have been so many theories and so many discussions with what people think is going to happen — where they would like things to go, and who they would like to see in power, and who they want to see die. Finally, just knowing… and for the people, when they watch it, I hope there’s going to be some satisfaction in that it’s come to an end and that’s how it goes. There will be some people who are disappointed, I’m sure, because they will want certain people to end up in certain places. But at this point, I’m just happy with whatever David and Dan choose to do with the story. I’ve trusted them for the past nine or ten years of my life with this. However, they decide to end it is fine by me.”

Winnie Harlow, born on July 27, 1994 in Toronto, Ontario, is one of the most recognizable models in the world right now for obvious reasons. Born with vitiligo, Harlow was a victim of bullying by other children and was reportedly called a “cow, zebra, and all manner of other disparaging slurs” before achieving fame as a contestant on the twenty-first season of America’s Next Top Model.

Harlow, 23, is of Jamaican descent. She was discovered by America’s Next Top Model host Tyra Banks on Instagram, becoming one of the 14 finalists in 2014. Harlow was the first and only Canadian ever cast on America’s Next Top Model.

While Harlow was eliminated from America’s Next Top Model, she began modeling for the Span brand Desigual, becoming their official representative. In September 2014, she walked and closed for the clothing brand Ashish during in London Fashion Week.

Harlow’s career continued to grow. In 2016, she was featured in a commercial for Sprite and was featured in a campaign for Swarovski. Currently, Harlow has over 2.7 million followers on Instagram.

Winnie has appeared in multiple music videos, such as JMSN’s “The One”, Eminem’s “Guts Over Fear”, and The Black Eyed Peas’ “#WHERESTHELOVE” and in Beyoncé’s “visual album” Lemonade.

After suffering through many years without a new Star Wars movie (and suffering through the prequels), December 15th, 2017 marks the release of the eighth mainline film in the Skywalker Saga, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Written and directed by Rian Johnson, The Last Jedi continues the story of Rey, Luke, Leia and so many characters we’ve come to love.

The Last Jedi does not play out like any normal Star Wars movie, Rian Johnson takes his shot at telling a tight, concise and impactful story on the Star Wars universe at large. Starting during the Resistance’s escape from their main base from the clutches of The First Order, The Last Jedi follows our ragtag group of rebel heroes as they fight to keep the Resistance alive and bring down The First Order.

As usual, Mark Hamill chews through the scenery with passion as the legendary Luke Skywalker while the late and very missed Carrie Fisher shines as Resistance leader, Leia Organa. Seeing these two legendary film stars (and characters) interact on screen one last time will bring a tear to any Star Wars fan.

Chock full of references to past films, The Last Jedi stylistically and beautifully embraces the magic of Star Wars while adding in its own quirks and rules. X Wing dogfights and lightsaber duels may be lacking like previous iterations but Rian Johnson masterfully creates his own memorable and incredible fight scenes (reminiscent of classic Samurai movies) that will forever be ingrained in any Star Wars fan. New characters like Admiral Holdo and Rose shine as they work their way into our hearts with their expressive love for the Resistance, while everyone else continues to make us love them even more.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi finds itself in a new position within the franchise at large; finding itself rewriting old tropes or completely tossing away loose plot threads, The Last Jedi asks us to rethink everything we know about Star Wars. By the end of the film fans will be begging for more as we wait for Episode 9’s release in December 2019!

Rian Johnson’s decisions behind the camera are definitely ones that will polarize fans and split the fan base, but in all honesty (and in my own opinion) Star Wars: The Last Jedi aims to recreate and create its own rules and boundaries in the Star Wars universe by letting the new generation shine in their respective storylines. Taking the focus off of the Skywalker Saga and opening the door to the entire Galaxy, may not sit well with many but it serves to make the series one for anyone looking for the light. Fans may be divided by the end of the film, but Star Wars: The Last Jedi introduces more of the surrounding galaxy and opens more questions about the Force, the Jedi and the Galaxy at large…. and I can’t wait to have them answered when Episode 9 releases.

Scottie Pippen was just recently reported saying that he thinks Lebron James is “statistically” a better basketball player then Pippen’s long time teammate, the great Michael Jordan was. Obviously both players are a few of the greatest ever to play the sport, with most people regarding Jordan as the greatest basketball player ever, so this is quite a bold statement by Pippen. But does Scottie Pippen have a valid point? Let’s check out Lebron and Jordan’s stats throughout there career to see if what Pippen stated really is not so outlandish.

Points Per Game

Michael Jordan retired for the third and final time from basketball after the 2002-2003 NBA season, finishing his illustrious career with the Washington Wizards.  Michael left the NBA with averaging a staggering total of 30.1 PPG through 15 NBA seasons. Lebron James is currently in his 15th season and for his career is averaging 27.2 PPG, proving he is also one of the greatest basketball scorers the world has ever seen. Michael Jordan scored between 40 and 49 points in an NBA contest a total of 172 times, while scoring 50 to 59 points in a total of 34 basketball contest’s, these statistics show how extraordinary of a scorer Michael Jordan was. Lebron James has scored between 40 to 49 points in 64 NBA games, while scoring between 50 to 59 points in a game 11 times. Lebron also has more 50 point games (11 of them) then games where he failed to score in double digits (only 8 of them). Both these players are a few of the greatest scorers in the history of basketball and there scoring accomplishments cannot be overlooked, but Michael undeniable scoring prowess is something basketball has not seen since he retired.

Michael Jordan finished his NBA career averaging 5.3 assists per game, which is quite a lot for a shooting guard, especially a shooting guard  that shot the ball as much as Michael did. Lebron James currently in his career is averaging an astonishing 7.1 assists per game. Lebron’s passing ability is so great that on certain occasions this NBA season the Cavaliers have started Lebron at point guard, the position that usually has the teams best passer. Lebron James has averaged over eight assists for a season twice in his career, and this season is currently averaging a career high 9.1 assists per game. Michael averaged eight assists one season during his illustrious career, but was never able to average over seven assists again in an NBA season. Both players can defiantly pass the rock, but this category has gotta go to LBJ.

Rebounds Per Game

Michael and Lebron are both elite re bounders at their positions. Michael finished his career averaging 6.2 rebounds per game, while Lebron for his career currently averages 7.3 rebounds per game. Michael Jordan averaged a career high in rebounds during the 1988-1989 NBA campaign, in which he grabbed eight rebounds a game. Lebron averaged a career best 8.6 rebounds per game during the 2016-2017 NBA season. Michael averaged over sic rebounds a a game in nine of his fifteen active NBA seasons, while Lebron has averaged at least 6 rebounds per game every season except for his rookie year. Although Lebron has averaged more rebounds per season then Jordan did, it must also be taken into account that Lebron in 6″8 and Michael is 6″6. Also, Lebron plays mostly at the small forward position which is prone to getting more rebounds then the position MJ played, shooting guard. Despite Lebron probably getting more chances to grab rebounds then Jordan did, it cannot be overlooked that Lebron has averaged at least six rebounds a game since the 2004-2005 NBA season, an astonishing feat for a small forward.

Steals Per Game

Both of these basketball legends are and were outstanding on the defensive end of  the court, but this category is not as close at the previous ones. Michael averaged 2.3 steals per game over his career, while Lebron has averaged 1.6 over his career. Jordan in the 1987-1988 season averaged an astounding 3.2 steals per game, and he only averaged under 2 steals a game in four of his fifteen NBA seasons. Lebron, while he is great at the defensive end of the floor, only averaged over 2 steals a game in one of his 14 plus seasons as an NBA player.

Triple Doubles

Both of these players could do it all at both ends of the floor on any given night, but which superstar did it more often? Michael for his career finished with 28 career triple doubles, while Lebron currently has 46 of them in his career. This is due to the fact that Jordan would focus more on scoring the ball, while Lebron does have superstar scoring ability, he looks to pass and rebound more then most players at his position, and what’s amazing is that he has the physical ability to do so. Again, both players could do it all, but Lebron currently having 18 more triple doubles then Jordan ever did is nothing short of amazing.

Final Decision

Personally, I would feel uncomfortable saying that Lebron is a greater player then MJ, but this discussion has been going on for years and without a doubt will continue for years to come. I will say that Lebrons ability to dominate in every aspect of the sport is probably unparallel compared to anyone before him or anyone currently in the NBA, but that does not necessarily make his the greatest ever. You cannot take away all the Championships and other basketball awards MJ won during his superb career, which is something Lebron is still trying to catch MJ on while playing out potentially the latter years of his career. So who is the greatest? at the end of the day, It depends who you ask.

Following the death of Timothy Piazza in February 2017, fraternities at Penn State were essentially given the death penalty, however, that hasn’t stopped some of them from still serving alcohol to minors.

Alpha Chi Rho, commonly referred to as “Crow”, at Penn State is facing charges of furnishing liquor to minors after two underage women were hospitalized for alcohol poisoning.

According to court records filed today, Alpha Chi Rho is facing the alcohol charges after allegedly serving alcohol to minors at a house party in September.

Police reports indicate that underage women were allowed to enter the party without being required to show identification. Medical records showed that those women were later hospitalized.

Tighter enforcement of underage drinking at Penn State frats was one of the changes by the university in the wake of the death of student Timothy Piazza of New Jersey, who fell down the stairs at Beta Theta Pi in February after an alcohol-related hazing ritual.

University records show Alpha Chi Rho was already placed on a one-year suspension in July following an alleged hazing.

A preliminary hearing for the most recent charges is scheduled for November 8.

Penn State fraternities have faced extra national scrutiny following Piazza’s death.

Piazza, 19, passed away on February 4, 2017, after suffering major internal injuries from a fall during pledge night activities at the Beta Theta Pi house at Penn State.

Piazza was a 2015 graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Readington Township who died after suffering a fall at the Beta Theta Pi house. Emergency services were not contacted until nearly 12 hours after the student fell down the steps at the fraternity house. Piazza was flown to the Hershey Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to documents obtained by the Daily Targum through the Open Public Records act.  The Daily Targum reports that the members of Sigma Chi allegedly used Xanax to drug members of a sorority during a mixer at the start of the 2017 Fall Semester.

The Daily Targum, Rutgers’ school newspaper, filed the records request following the fraternity’s closure in November. At the time of the closure, no reasons were specified, but the fraternity was no longer authorized to display the organization’s letters or operate out of the fraternity house.

While the sorority’s name was redacted from the report, a source for the Targum said that it was Sigma Delta Tau that was at the mixer with Sigma Chi on the night in question.

At the start of the fall semester, she said Sigma Delta Tau, was invited to attend a mixer with Sigma Chi at one of the fraternity’s satellite houses.

“We used to mix with Sigma Chi a lot,” the source told The Daily Targum. “We had a lot of important mixers with them, like our big/little mixer, so as a sorority we were pretty comfortable with the fraternity. Then one night, at a mixer the weekend of Sept. 16, they put Xanax in the juice.”

The source said the brothers of Sigma Chi were the only ones who had access to the communal container of alcohol that night.

According to the written testimony, the mixer started out as a closed event between the fraternity and sorority. Around 11:30 p.m., Sigma Chi opened the event to the public, allowing approximately 100 people into the basement of the venue. In addition to a 30 pack case of Keystone Light, the fraternity reportedly provided an orange athletic container filled with a mixture of alcohol and fruit juice.

A number of women in Sigma Delta Tau mentioned this juice “tasting funny” and having a “chalky” texture, according to the report. Within the next few hours, individuals who had consumed as little as half a cup of the substance began reacting negatively to it.

Important to note, the Targum’s anonymous source says that Sigma Chi still denies that the drugging took place.

The Rutgers chapter of Sigma Chi did not respond to a request for comment. The fraternity, apparently not taking the allegations seriously, posted a status update on its Facebook page saying “We’re not suspended… You’re suspended.”

First-place Manchester City, fresh off of their record-setting 15th straight Premier League record, host fourth-place Tottenham Hotspur in an epic Premier League clash. City have not defeated Tottenham Hotspur since May 2015, meaning manager Pep Guardiola is still looking for his first win over Mauricio Pochetinno’s Spurs.

Manchester City boasts two of the Premier Leagues top four scorers, with Sergi Aguero notching ten goals and Raheem Sterling scoring nine. However, both City forwards trail Tottenham striker Harry Kane who has scored 12 EPL goals so far this season. All three players trail Liverpool’s Mo Salah for the league lead.

While Manchester City have won 15 straight, Tottenham hasn’t been as hot as they were to start the season, although they have won their last two Premier League outings, outscoring their opponents 7-1.

City, on the other hand, have been on a historic place. Baring an epic collapse, Manchester City have likely wrapped up the Premier League race in December.

The best time of year for college football has finally arrived. Starting this Saturday, Bowl season will commence with several intriguing matchups for programs that are seeking to cap off their successful regular seasons with an emphatic postseason victory. Although the majority of the teams that will be participating in this week’s affairs will be largely unknown, the fact that all of them will be competing for a coveted Bowl trophy increases the competitive nature and notoriety of these underrated programs. As we inch ever closer to the highly anticipated College Football Playoff contests, fans and pundits will be more than satiated with a plethora of high-octane contests until New Years Day.

College Bowl Games On Today

1. R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl: Troy Trojans vs. North Texas Mean Green

Time: Saturday, 1:00 PM E.T.
Location: Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana
TV Channel: ESPN

By program names alone, Troy and North Texas do not appear to offer much in the way of compelling and excitable football. However, both of these mid-major conference opponents actually have two unique and prolific offenses that should keep fans locked in from start to finish. For the Trojans, their electric offense is predicated on the scrambling and throwing capabilities of quarterback Brandon Silvers (62.9 CMP%). While Silvers’ game managing prowess is notable, the Mean Green possess a much more prolific passer in Mason Fine (64.3 CMP%, 28 touchdowns, 13 interceptions). However, what the Trojans lack in a gunslinging quarterback, they more than make up for with a consistent and formidable defense (17.5 PAPG, held all of their opponents to less than 30 points). If Troy can avoid careless turnovers, they should be able to rely on their exceptional defense and allow Silvers to chip away at the Mean Green’s poor defense (33.8 PAPG).

2. Autonation Cure Bowl: Western Kentucky Hilltoppers vs. Georgia State Panthers

Unsurprisingly, the Hilltoppers live and die by their relentless passing game, a large reason for them finishing the season with a 6-6 record. Luckily, even in the Hilltoppers losses, quarterback Mike White has been accurate (65.6 CMP%) and intelligent when it comes to not forcing passes to receivers that are heavily covered (seven interceptions). Although the Panthers may not have the glowing passing statistics that the Hilltoppers possess, they actually have an equally cerebral albeit much less prolific passer in quarterback Conner Manning (63.7 CMP%, 13 touchdowns, seven interceptions). As both programs struggle to run the football, this will be an exhilarating shootout that will see the Hilltoppers overwhelm the Panthers with their exceptional passing game.

Final Score: Hilltoppers 34 Georgia State 30 Spread: Georgia State -6.5

3. Las Vegas Bowl: Boise State Broncos (25) vs. Oregon Ducks

Time: Saturday, 3:30 PM E.T.
Location: Sam Boyd Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada

Although the Broncos may not be a perennial juggernaut amongst the mid-major programs any longer, they have still managed to put together one impressive season after another. Relying on impressive quarterback play from Brett Rypien (8.11 yards per pass attempt, 14 touchdowns, four interceptions), the Broncos have been able to grind out wins by playing mostly mistake-free football while relying on their athletic defense to finish off their respective opponents (22.5 PAPG). While the Ducks may not have a disciplined passer to lead their offense, they do possess a formidable and immensely talented running back in Royce Freeman (16 rushing touchdowns, six yards per rush attempt). Although the Ducks have an elite rushing game at their disposal, it has been exposed on numerous occasions by stout defenses, an Achilles Heel that should be exploited by the Broncos resilient defensive front.

Final Score: Broncos 29 Ducks 20 Spread: Oregon -7.0

4. Gildan New Mexico Bowl: Marshall Thundering Herd vs. Colorado State Rams

Location: Dreamstyle Stadium, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Despite losing four of their last five games to finish the regular season, the Thundering Herd unquestionably have one of the best defenses in college football (19.3 PAPG). Unfortunately, Marshall’s gifted defense has been overshadowed by the wildly inconsistent quarterback play of Chase Litton (23 touchdowns, 12 interceptions). Unlike the Thundering Herd, the Rams have an impressively dynamic offense that flows through quarterback Nick Stevens (27 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, 3479 passing yards) and running back Dalyn Dawkins (eight rushing touchdowns, 6.2 yards per rushing attempt). Although Marshall may have the fearless defense to hold off the Rams efficient offense initially, their lack of a reliable passing game will do them in against an exceptionally well-rounded opponent.

Final Score: Thundering Herd 21 Rams 28 Spread: Colorado State -5.5

5. Raycom Media Camella Bowl: Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders vs. Arkansas State Red Wolves

Time: Saturday, 8:00 PM E.T.
Location: Cramton Bowl, Montgomery, Alabama

Although the Blue Raiders may not be particularly potent on offense and defense, they are actually not horrible in either of those respects. With that being said, the clear weakness for the Blue Raiders has been the lack of continuity at the quarterback position, with junior Brent Stockhill taking over signal-calling duties during the final four games of the season (10 touchdowns, three interceptions in final four games of the season). Conversely, the Red Wolves have been privileged to have a confident gunslinger on their roster in quarterback Justice Hansen (34 touchdowns, 8.44 yards per pass attempt). Despite not having a serious rushing game to fall back on, the Red Wolves have still been able to overwhelm their opponents with their terrific passing game, an aspect that will be especially difficult for the average Blue Raiders to shut down consistently.
