Back in June, when Marshawn Lynch had his first press conference as an Oakland Raider, I wrote this:

“Is there any question that Marshawn Lynch is going to have the highest selling jersey in the league this year? The city of Oakland alone is going to be buying millions — that’s how much they love this dude.”

Well, as usual, it turns out that I was right.

Here we are, just about 7 weeks away from the start of the NFL season, and Beast Mode has the highest selling jersey in 14 of the 50 United States, occupying essentially the entire western half of the union.

And this is despite the fact that, other than grainy Twitter video, no one has even seen him take a snap yet. People forget that the last time Lynch was on a football field, he wasn’t looking so hot.

But his on field performance doesn’t even matter at this point, as Marshawn has become a living legend. Aside from being one of the greatest talents of his generation, Lynch has been able to win over the masses through his peculiar, yet warm hearted, personality.

Add on the fact that the sole reason Lynch decided he wanted to play football again was simply that the Raiders were leaving his hometown of Oakland, and you have the perfect storm of football likability.

The phrase ‘only in New York’ may be a little cliche at this point, but it’s moments like these that remind you why there’s no city on Earth quite like New York City.

There’s not much context as to how this fight started — or where the dude got the machete from — but similar to the pilot episode of an excellent television show, this one sucks you in right from jump street.

And frankly, it’s a pitiful showing by both parties.

The guy in the monochromatic red ensemble is significantly bigger than the other guy, yet he can’t connect on a single punch. Meanwhile, the guy with the machete takes just one swing and sends his only weapon into what equates to the fifth row of a baseball game. Just a complete swing and a miss. If you’re going to wield a damn machete, you better connect.

All in all, just another day in the streets of New York.

In 2017, it can seem as though our nation is more divided than ever.

Every day you turn on the news, it’s something about Russia, or healthcare, or jobs, and no one can ever seem to agree.

However, if there’s one thing that truly brings Americans together — other than sports — it’s the mutual hate of something. And now, thanks to the dating app Hater  (don’t worry — I’ve never heard of it either), we all know what exactly our state hates the most.

For example, I’m from New Jersey, and the thing we despise most is actually reasonable: jellyfish. And as a proud New Jerseyian, I can tell you that shit’s the truth: jellyfish are the WORST.

But not every state has as reasonable of a hate as NJ.

Nevada, not realizing we’re living in 2017, hates feminism the most. Delaware just can’t f*cking stand Casey Affleck. And what’s up with Utah, Colorado, and Kansas? How can one hate porn, Nsync, and Seinfeld? Those three things are as American as apple pie.

All in all, thought this map is just one giant definition of ‘first-world problems.’

Tyler, The Creator is an American rapper, record producer, and music video director. Alongside his rapping career, he also is the founder of the clothing brand Golf Wang. In addition, he is the co-founder of the alternative hip hop collective Odd Future.  Some of the famous associated acts he was apart of include Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, and EarlWolf. Tyler, The Creator, launches his newest album, Scum Fuck Flower Boy, today for the world to listen and adore.

The cover art is extremely tasteful and descriptive. The background symbolizes mountains with a springy-feel. Besides that, you can see Tyler, The Creator’s stature in the middle of the album art, with sunflowers surrounding him. Monstrous honey bees scatter the album while covering his entire face.

When listening to the new album, I sense a feeling of youth and emancipation. Although I only listened to two tracks, I greatly appreciated the artistry, blend, tone, and style of his music. For example, “Boredom” a rather lengthy song, creates a chill vibe. On the other hand, “9/11Mr. Lonely,” introduces a wavy outro and the smooth vocals of Frank Ocean.

Overall, this album is original and intriguing. I thoroughly enjoyed bits and pieces of the album. Tell me what you think!

Meek Mill is an American hip hop artist from Philly, Pennsylvania. He embarked on his music career as a battle rapper, and later formed a short-lived rap group, The Bloodhoundz. Mill is mostly known for his famous venture, his own record label print, Dream Chasers Records.  Some of his famous associated acts throughout his music career include Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, and Lil Uzi Vert.

Mill’s newest installation has a unique album cover art. When I first looked at the album, I can see that it has a colorful background. Next, there seems to be a collage of images of past and present experiences and recollections. Some may be viewed as “wins” as others, especially the one with the post-it notes in the shape of an “L,” can be “losses.”

When listening to the new album, I enjoy the backdrop beats and the spitting fire (verses). The authentic rapper’s voice including the responses, in the form of echoes, complement each other very well. I only had the privilege to listen to “Issues”; I completely enjoyed the flow of the rap verses and the instrumentals. The album releases today, Friday the 21st of 2o17.

Welcome to the tastiest time of the year. You’ve just stumbled upon National Junk Food Day, folks! Better call The President asap! Donald “Tickle Me” Trump admittedly loves fast food. He allegedly gorges himself on Big Macs and buckets of KFC Chicken. Worst of all, he only shares his food on Twitter. Throw me a wing, Donnie Boy!

Hold up…is this cat eating fried chicken with a fork and knife? I’ve only seen this once before in my life. My grandparents brought home some fried chicken for dinner. Pop Pop thought he’d teach my brother and I how to eat like “civilized human beings” by using silverware to eat finger-food. Neither the fork nor the butter knife could penetrate the hard breading. Eventually, they gave up with the obedience school routine and we got to eat some chicken.

Junk food can be a guilty pleasure for some. A daily routine for others. And damn am I getting hungry.

KFC sounds cool and all, but last time I went there, the cashier told me he didn’t have hot wings, honey BBQ wings or extra crispy fried chicken. Plus, they were going to charge me over $15 for two Zinger chicken sandwiches and one three-piece crispy tenders meal. At that point, I said f*ck it, went back to my hometown and got a hold of some Popeyes. I bought 13 pieces of the mild mixed chicken for about the same price as they were going to charge me at KFC for just two sandwiches, a drink, potato wedges and three strips of chicken. Dammit, I’m probably going to be craving fried chicken all day.

Pop Pop thought I’d die at a very young age because of how much I loved fried, junk food when I was younger. Whenever I got my hands on something fried or greasy, he’d always point out the devastating consequences of my food choices. But I just love foods that make me feel happy when I eat them.

My longtime favorite is BBQ spare ribs from small-scale Chinese restaurants, especially when I’m chilling in Queens, no matter if it’s Flushing, Jamaica, Glen Oaks or whatever. New York City is known for their superb Chinese food. Spare ribs are mainly an American dish. But many of these restaurants have blended this western cultural dish into a crack concoction that you absolutely have to try many times before you die. However, this pork product has probably knocked up some points on my cholesterol levels. So, remember to rib responsibly.

Yesterday, Chester Bennington, the lead singer of Linkin Park, committed suicide by hanging at the age of 41-years-old.

According to TMZ, law enforcement sources said the singer and songwriter hanged himself at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County.

Now, just a day after the iconic rocker’s death, details about his final interview are coming to light, and they’re as heartbreaking as you’d imagine.

Speaking to Will Lavin, he said: “I came to a point in my life where I was like, ‘I can either just give up and fucking die or I can fucking fight for what I want.’ And I chose to fight for what I wanted. I wanted to have good relationships. I wanted to love the people in my life. I wanted to enjoy my job.

“I wanted to enjoy being a dad and having friends and just getting up in the morning. Because that was a struggle for me.”

Bennington is survived by his wife and six children. RIP.

“Uh, fellas … I don’t think were in the 90’s anymore.”

Since literally everything in pop culture is rebooted these days, it was only a matter of time before the reboot phenomenon impacted 90’s Nickelodeon cartoons, right?

That’s right people, Rocko’s Modern Life, the cult cartoon classic known for its adult innuendos, will be returning to American television screens in 2018.

How or why a reboot of Rocko is coming out 22-years after the show went off the air is beyond me, but frankly, it isn’t important. With the entire original cast and crew returning, the Rocko special is going to be an hour of the primetime nostalgia we all crave.

The one-hour special will reunite creator Joe Murray with the original voice cast, including Carlos Alazraqui (Rocko), Tom Kenny (Heffer and Really Really Big Man), “Mr. Lawrence” (Filburt), Charlie Adler (Ed and Bev Bighead), and Linda Wallem (Dr. Hutchinson). With the possible exception of Ren & Stimpy,Rocko’s was Nickelodeon’s weirdest show, with a reliance on surreal gags and“adult” jokes that kids wouldn’t understand until years later.

And not only is the entire cast and crew returning, but the plot of the special is objectively excellent:

Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling brings the characters back to Earth after being lost in outer space since 1996. Rocko has trouble accepting this 21st century modern life, while Heffer and Filburt embrace every aspect of new technology, social media, and the endless diversity of food trucks. Rocko believes that his nostalgia for the past can save him from the tortures of the modern world.

In Layman’s terms, the show might literally pick up from where it left off, only 22 years in the future. It will be as if Rocko aged with all the millennials who watched his show when they were kids.

I’m not sure anyone asked for a Rocko’s Modern reboot, but I can guarantee most Millennials will tune in, myself included.

The cover art is intriguing and old-fashioned. It appears to be a radio-or communication machine. Also, it can be a stereo box. On top of the design, there is a jet black box etched in white: “Anxiety.”

When listening to the album, I enjoyed the soul and deep techno vibe, especially in “Less Than.” I felt the music reverberated throughout my body, and the lyrics bounced off my chest. This type of music is often showcased in hip clothing stores. The apex of “Less Than” is intense and powerful. I like how the bass and electric guitar are accentuated, compared to how other bands usually divide the timbre. Tell me what you think of this song and the rest of the album!

Coming to you from Clearwater Beach is27-year-old Ryan Stiles.

While Stiles was fleeing from police, he recorded himself driving at high speed across the sand of Clearwater Beach, Florida, plowing through chairs and chugging booze. After a nine-minute chase, officers were able to catch up Stiles, bringing to an end the most ‘Florida’ moment in the history of this great nation.

The video shows Stiles tearing across the beach screaming obscenities. At one point he yells “Crash parade, bro!” as he appears to drive over multiple folding chairs. The beach Stiles allegedly drove down is a popular resort destination located along a thin strip of land off of Clearwater, Florida.

“We were extremely fortunate that we didn’t lose any officers, nor did we lose any civilians,” said Clearwater Deputy Police Chief Donald Hall at press conference Thursday. “If you go to the beach at any time it can be very populated.”

Roderick and Elizabeth McGibbon are suing two Drexel University fraternities and a local university bar for their son’s severe brain injury. McGibbon’s injury was sustained after he was punched during an altercation where no one called 911 for 10 hours.

The McGibbons say their 23-year-old sold Ian, who has had four surgeries, cannot remember things, walks with a brace, cannot use of his left arm, and quickly tires due to the injuries he received as a result of the altercation.

While Drexel University police investigated the altercation, no one was charged. Similarly, the university is not named in the lawsuit, though the two fraternities to which the members belong are.

The attorney for the McGibbons, Robert J. Mongeluzzi, said lack of police charges doesn’t excuse the behavior because “that is what juries are for.”

The Drexel incident occurred early on Sept. 12, 2015, between 32nd and 33rd Streets on Powelton Avenue when McGibbon and two fellow members of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity were on their way home from a bar. They got into an altercation with members of another fraternity, Delta Sigma Phi. Mongeluzzi acknowledged that versions of what spurred and happened during the altercation differ.

At some point during the fight, McGibbon was punched, fell, and struck his head on the cement, rendering him unconscious, Mongeluzzi said. Fraternity members helped him back to the house – lawyers showed video of McGibbon being held up by two men as he walked down the street. He was placed on a couch, the lawyer said. The fraternity’s “risk manager” monitored him for several hours until 6 a.m., then went to sleep, the attorney said.

The incident is similar to that of Timothy Piazza.

Piazza, 19, was a 2015 graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Readington Township who died after suffering a fall at the Beta Theta Pi house. Emergency services were not contacted until nearly 12 hours after the student fell down the steps at the fraternity house. Piazza was flown to the Hershey Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

FALSE: Trump Is Furious After Initiating Audit On Social Secret, Discovers Gov’t Waste

FACTS: A bogus story spread online saying that Donald Trump is pissed about government waste in the Social Security Department after personally ordering an audit. Borntobebright.com is providing the false narrative that Trump initiated this audit, which Trump didn’t do in the first place. The audit was issued under the previous president’s regime, and it revealed that between the years 2013 to 2016, nearly $32 million was spent on conferences alone. The inquiry ended January, just before Trump was inaugurated.

FACTS: Carlson is a former Fox News anchor, who does support a assault rifle ban and defended her viewpoints on Twitter. However, she never said anything about the second amendment being written before guns were created. That quote is being spread by outlets such as redherald.com, therightists.com, among others, claiming that Carlson also doubts the death of Elvis Presley and questions the authenticity of every manned mission to the moon (believing no person has ever landed on the moon). These rumors are complete horse-sh*t. Carlson believes in gun rights to an extent. But she doesn’t believe the average citizen should own assault rifles. In fact, Gretchen said on Fox News that she “hold(s) true the sanctity of the Second Amendment while still having common sense.”

FALSE: Trey Gowdy Ends The Russia Investigation ONCE AND FOR ALL

FACTS: South Carolina representative Trey Gowdy said that the House Oversight Committee he leads would terminate its investigation into ties between President Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia, but he has no actual authority to halt others inquiries. However, investigations remain active and open by Congressional committees and Justice Department counsel Robert Mueller. Gowdy is routinely a subject on fake news political articles. The fake news hounds have been targeting this republican representative for quite a while.

FALSE: Several Black Men Found Dead In Mass Grave At Deceased KKK Leader’s Estate

The Jackson Telegraph and other hoax sites are spreading a false tale about a mass grave of black men found at the estate of a dead KKK leader. The hoax articles cite an FBI announcement by a bureau spokesperson named Adrian Cartwright who doesn’t even exist. The FBI debunked this story by stating that they have no spokesman named Adrian Cartwright working for them. The hoax states that the mass grave was found at the former Mississippi home of KKK leader Eldon Lee Edwards. However, Brett Carr, a real spokesperson for the FBI told the Associated Press that the story was “fabricated” and has “no validity.”

FALSE: Urban Meyer resigns as head football coach for Ohio State

The head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes has not stepped down from his position despite false reports from hoax site channel23news.com. Now, this fake story is being regarded as a prank, as it takes shots at Ohio State’s nemesis, Michigan. This bull-crap story falsely quotes Meyers as saying his resignation is the only way Michigan can topple the Buckeyes. But Urban Meyer has really been kicking Michigan’s ass as the coach of the Buckeyes, leading his team to five straight victories against the Wolverines since he took up the post as Ohio State head coach in 2012.

This guy may have bitten off a bit more than he can chew when he took up the Ariana Grande “Um” Spicy Pepper Challenge. This bro, who goes by the name of “Mr. Grande” on YouTube, chowed down on a Ziploc bag full of fiery hot peppers. First, he pressed play on an Ariana Grande award acceptance speech. She won “Artist of the Year,” and said “um” into infinite while this guy looks like he’s going to drop from all the red peppers he’s stuffing into his suck-hole. Grande just keeps saying “um” and pepper after pepper is placed into this poor guy’s mouth.

Grande has a really bad habit of saying “um.” Her public speaking isn’t on point. But um, who cares? She’s rich and famous. She also hasn’t reduced herself to stuffing spicy foods down her gullet in order to entertain the masses. Not yet at least. If she does, that sounds pretty hot and humorous. A video of Grande engorging on peppers may get even more hits than her record sales.

But back to the bro stuffing hot peppers in his mouth. Why are you doing, man? Can’t you see you’re killing yourself. This lass will never stop saying “um” no matter what. So, you have a death wish, boy-o. The reason why I’m writing like this is because I saw T2: Transpotting two days in a row OnDemand. But this guy ate so many damn red peppers that I wouldn’t be surprised if he had blood coming out his arse for the next few days.

How many times did Ariana Grande say “um” during her acceptance speech? I counted 11 “ums” in total, but when she hit 10 “ums” this guy couldn’t take it anymore. He missed the last “um” because he was violently puking/spitting up the red peppers while Grande said she was “so thankful for art and I hope that whatever it is that I create (pepper bro heaves) in my life that I hope you feel a little bit of light.”

I’m thankful for this dude who crammed peppers down his gullet just to entertain the internet. He definitely puts a lot of dedication into his work. He sacrifices so much just to make random people laugh online.

Minneapolis Police Chief Janeé Harteau stepped down from his resigned on Friday, after last week’s fatal shooting of an Australian woman by a Minnesota police officer. Democrat Mayor of Minneapolis Betsy Hodge held a press conference to reflect on the police chief’s resignation as well as the shooting of Justine Damond. She encourages transformative change in the police department, and announces that a new police chief will take Harteau’s place.

Within minutes, protesters storm the press conference. One angry protester orders Betsy’s removal from the conference and from her post as mayor of Minneapolis. He tells Hodges, “We would like you to move out of our city. Your police department has terrorized us enough. Your press conference is ineffective.”

Earlier today, hundreds of protesters gathered to honor the shooting death of Justine Damond by police officer Mohammad Noor.

Betsy Hodge left the press conference as hostile voice jeered and condemned her for service as mayor of Minneapolis. The protesting crowd wants justice for the death of Damond and they want officer Mohammad Noor to be prosecuted by the fullest extent of the law. One man even wanted Mayor Hodge to resign and not one protester disagreed with him.

A lot of hostility erupted in that press conference. Betsy got the hell outta there.

Mayor Betsy Hodges said she requested Harteau to resign because “I’ve lost confidence in the chief’s ability to lead us further — and from the many conversations I’ve had with people around our city, especially this week, it is clear that she has lost the confidence of the people of Minneapolis as well.”

“Last Saturday’s tragedy, as well as some other recent incidents, have caused me to engage in deep reflection,” she said in a statement. “I’ve decided I am willing to step aside to let a fresh set of leadership eyes see what more can be done for the MPD to be the very best it can be.”
