If you haven’t heard or read by now, HBO confirmed that it is developing not one, not two, not three, but FOUR TO FIVE potential Game Of Thrones spin-offs. A couple of weeks before the premiere of the seventh season, the premium cable giant announced it tasked four writers with developing and pitching four different Game Of Thrones spinoffs series.

The four writers are Max Borenstein (“Kong: Skull Island”), Jane Goldman (“Kingsman: The Golden Circle”), Brian Helgeland (“Legend”), and Carly Wray (“Mad Men,” “The Leftovers”). Goldman and Wray will each be working individually with novelist and “Game of Thrones” creator George R. R. Martin.

Noticeably absent from that list are current Thrones producers, writers, and showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. When the spin-offs were announced, HBO president of programming Casey Bloys said that the Double D’s “hope to watch whatever spin-off they have purely as a fan, sitting at home, not overseas working on a production.”

But while they may be getting a clean break from the world of Game Of Thrones, it doesn’t mean they’ll be taking their talents elsewhere, as the duo have already pinned down their next project for HBO.

The award-winning duo will reteam with HBO for the drama series Confederate, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The drama chronicles the events leading to the Third American Civil War. The series takes place in an alternate timeline, where the Southern states have successfully seceded from the Union, giving rise to a nation in which slavery remains legal and has evolved into a modern institution. The story follows a broad swath of characters on both sides of the Mason-Dixon Demilitarized Zone — freedom fighters, slave hunters, politicians, abolitionists, journalists, the executives of a slave-holding conglomerate and the families of people in their thrall.

Benioff and Weiss will write the project and serve as showrunners. Nichelle Tramble Spellman (Justified, The Good Wife) and Malcolm Spellman (Empire) are also attached as writers. The four will executive produce with Carolyn Strauss (Game of Thrones) and Bernadette Caulfield (Game of Thrones, Big Love). Production on Confederate will begin after the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones, which is expected to air in either 2018 or 2019.

Still very early in the process, Benioff and Weiss still need to conclude production of Game Of Thrones, whose eighth and final season is rumored to not be airing until 2019.

Regardless of when it comes out, HBO has an ace in the hole with the Double D’s, as the follow-up project from the creators of the greatest show of all-time will surely be highly anticipated.

John W. Gose, a former high school chemistry teacher, has been convicted of cooking meth in New Mexico. On Wednesday, July 19, Gose was sentenced to four years in prison.

New Mexico District Judge Fernando Macias served Gose a nine-year sentence. The first four will be served in prison, and after he is released, Gose must serve five years of supervised probation.

Gose, a 56-year-old former chemistry teacher in New Mexico, pleaded guilty in May to trafficking by manufacturing a controlled substance.

We asked the court for the sentence we felt was appropriate for Mr. Gose,” Doña Ana County District Attorney Mark D’Antonio said in a statement. “We are very pleased that the defendant will have to face the consequences of his illegal and irresponsible decisions.”

Gose was arrested in October 2016 after police discovered glassware, rubber tubing, and the chemicals required to cook methamphetamines during a routine traffic stop. New Mexico State Police later found more chemicals and supplies at his home.

According to investigators, Gose was in possession of the ingredients necessary to yield at least one pound of methamphetamines, which has an estimated street value of $44,800.

Assistant District Attorney Tomas Medina told the judge that the methamphetamine was in the final stages of the crystallization process when Gose was arrested.He had faced up to 20 1/2 years in prison.

Authorities say Gose taught high school science in El Paso and middle school science in Las Cruces. According to police reports, Gose told a roommate he used to teach chemistry.

Gose will receive credit for the around seven months he has been incarcerated. Upon release, Gose must complete five years of supervised probation.

People were quick to point out similarities to the hit show Breaking Bad, which tells the story of a former New Mexico high school teacher who begins to manufacture methamphetamine.

Xanda, the son of Cecil the Lion, has been shot dead by a big game hunter. The shooting just two years after Cecil was shot and killed by Walter Palmer, an American big game hunter.

According to The Telegraph, Xanda, a six-year-old, was killed just outside the Hwange National Park in north west Zimbabwe.

Xanda’s death was discovered because he was wearing an electronic collar. The collar fitted by researchers to monitor his movements in the area.

When the Zimbabwean professional hunter on the shoot, Richard Cooke from RC Safaris, discovered the dead lion had a collar, he handed it back to the researchers.

Andrew Loveridge from the Department of Zoology at Oxford University, which has a team supplying and fixing collars which monitor the lions in the Hwange National Park, said: “I fitted it last October. It was monitored almost daily and we were aware that Xanda and his pride was spending a lot of time out of the park in the last six months, but there is not much we can do about that.

“Richard Cooke is one of the ‘good’ guys. He is ethical and he returned the collar and communicated what had happened. His hunt was legal and Xanda was over 6 years old so it is all within the stipulated regulations.”

Furthermore, Loveridge said he hopes for the creation of a 5km exclusion zone around the Hwange National Park. This way, Loveridge says, hunters would no longer accidentally shoot collared lions that wander outside the boundary of the Park.

About Cecil The Lion

On July 1, 2015, Walter Palmer, an American recreational big-game hunter, wounded, tracked and reportedly killed Ceil with a rifle. Cecil was 13 years old when killed. Palmer had a permit and was not charged with any crime.

Five months after Cecil’s death, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service added two subspecies of lion, in India and western and central Africa, to the endangered species list.

Wayne Pacelle, the CEO of the Humane Society,  said Cecil had “changed the atmospherics on the issue of trophy hunting around the world.”

After nine years in prison, O.J. Simpson’s parole hearing will take place today in Nevada at 1 PM EST.

In September 2007, Simpson was sentenced to a minimum of nine years and a maximum of 33 years after being found guilty of robbing two men in Las Vegas for of sports memorabilia. Simpson famously claimed that the items were originally his and he just wanted them back.

Simpson was granted parole on five of his charges: burglary, two counts of kidnapping, and two counts of robbery.

ESPN will be broadcasting the parole hearing live during a special 90-minue episode out Outside The Lines hosted by Jeremy Schapp.

If Simpson, who has spent the last nine years at Lovelock Correctional Facility, is granted parole, he will be released on October 1st, 2017. If Simpson is not granted parole, his next hearing would be in 1-3 years. Without parole, Simpson is scheduled to be released in September 2022.

They laid off hundreds of qualified, well-liked, respected employees, yet they spend hours on end talking about f*cking Lavar Ball across their programming.

Yet, despite this slight fall from grace for the Mothership, they are still king. And one of the main reasons they’re still king is that they still bring in the best talent.

One of those talents is Antonietta Collins.

Collins, the daughter of the television reporter María Antonieta Collins, currently works for ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter.

One of the best players in baseball, Mike Trout has quickly become the face of major league baseball. While Bryce Harper could arguably be considered on par with Trout in terms of his individual accolades, he lacks the universally beloved demeanor that has made Trout a fan favorite across the country. Given what Trout has already accomplished on and off the field, the essential question remains of how much is the superstar centerfielder actually worth?

2012-2015

After spending the first month of the 2012 season with the Salt Lake Bees (Triple-A Affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels), Trout was called up on April 28 to play in the majors for the Angels. During his rookie year, Trout was sensational in nearly every way and even broke an American League rookie record as he crossed home plate in 14 consecutive games. His uncanny ability as a run scorer was due largely in part to his tenacity as a base runner as he tied the rookie record of stolen bases before the All-Star Break (26). Unsurprisingly, Trout was selected to participate in his first All-Star game and finished the season with sensational numbers in batting average (.326), home runs (30), RBI’s (83) and stolen bases (49).

Despite getting off to a slow start during the 2013 season (.261 batting average, two home runs in April), Trout quickly returned to form in May as he had a batting average of .327 to go along with eight home runs and 21 RBI’s. By mid-June, Trout had already scored his 200th career run, making him the fastest player to accomplish the feat since 1940. Although Trout finished second to Miguel Cabrera in the AL MVP voting for the second year in a row, his on base percentage and total walk numbers improved dramatically (67 walks in 2012 compared to 110 walks in 2013; OBP of .399 in 2012 compared to OBP of .432 in 2013).

After two MVP caliber seasons, the Angels were determined to retain Trout for the foreseeable future as they signed him to a 6-year, $144.5 million contract before the start of the 2014 season. By the end of the season, Trout more than earned his big pay day as he hit 36 home runs to go along with 111 RBI’s (both career highs). After missing out on the AL MVP award for the last two years, Trout was unanimously selected as the AL MVP his third year in the league, becoming the fifth youngest MVP ever.

Two weeks into the 2015 season, Trout became the youngest player in MLB history to reach 100 home runs and 100 stolen bases. Overall, Trout had one of his best seasons to date has hit a career high 41 home runs and posted a monstrous slugging percentage of .590. Despite finishing second in the MVP voting again, this time to Josh Donaldson, Trout still garnered his fourth silver slugger award in as many seasons, becoming only the second player in MLB history to win the award four straight times to start a career.

He reportedly earned $5.25 million in 2015.

2016-Present

In typical Trout fashion, the young perennial All-Star continued to dazzle critics and fans alike during the 2016 season. By June, Trout had accumulated more WAR (wins above replacement) in his age-24 season than any other player since 1913 with 45. His end of season statistics also proved to be just as legendary as he lead the majors in walks (116), runs scored (123) and in on base percentage (.441). Trout would go on to win his second AL MVP award, becoming the only player besides Barry Bonds to finish in the top two of the MVP voting in five straight seasons.

While Trout got off to a strong start in 2017 season, his must see daily performances were abruptly stopped when he tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his thumb on May 28. However, since his return to the majors (July 14), Trout has had at least a hit in each game he as played in while slugging two home runs in back-to-back starts.

What baseball and sports fans have been privileged to witness over the last few years when it comes to Trout’s nearly unprecedented abilities as a consummate athlete is something that only comes once in a generation. In his brief career, Trout has already shattered numerous all-time records and has quickly become a beloved baseball icon thanks to his enthusiasm for a game that has been falling out of favor with younger sports fans. If Trout can continue to dazzle fans with his statistical output and exuberant personality, he could very well rejuvenate the interest in a sport that has lacked ubiquitous appeal for some time now.

Similar to John Wick and the current Planet Of The Apes franchise, Kingsman was a movie that shattered expectations and became one of the most universally praised and enjoyed actions films in recent years.

Doubling down on the madness of the original, the sequel brings back stars Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, and Mark Strong, while also adding heavyweights such as Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, Halle Berry, Elton John, and Julianne Moore as the Poppy, the film’s villain.

As for the plot of The Golden Circle, the agents of Kingsman head to the United States to join forces with Statesman, Kingsman’s American counterpart, after Kingsman’s headquarters is destroyed by Poppy, a member of the secret group “The Golden Circle” and a notorious criminal mastermind.

With both the directors and stars of the original returning for the second round, we’re expecting Kingsman to be one of the best films, action or not, of 2017.

Chester Bennington, the lead singer of Linkin Park, has committed suicide by hanging. He was 41-years-old.

According to TMZ, law enforcement sources said the singer and songwriter hanged himself at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County. His body was discovered Thursday around 9 AM PST.

Furthermore, the Los Angeles County coroner confirmed to Associated Press that Bennington had died.

He is survived by his wife and six children.

Bennington had struggled with drugs and alcohol issues for years, saying in the past he had considered committing suicide because due to childhood abuse. Bennington, who was best friends with the late Chris Cornell and performed “Hallelujah” at his funeral, committed suicide on July 20, Cornell’s birthday.

Bennington’s death comes just over a week before his band, Linkin Park, was scheduled to play stadium shows with Blink-182 in Flushing, Queens, and Hershey, Pennsylvania. Linkin Park and Blink-182 were scheduled to perform at Citi Field on July 28, and at Hershey Park Stadium on July 30.

Neither Linkin Park nor Bennington’s family has released a statement at this time.

Bennington was best known as the lead vocalist of rock bands Linkin Park, Dead by Sunrise, and live rock cover band Bucket of Weenies. He was originally the lead vocalist for Sean Dowdell And His Friends? and Grey Daze. Bennington was the lead vocalist for Stone Temple Pilots from 2013 to 2015.

Meet Jamie & Isiah

Bennington had his first son with a former girlfriend named Elka Brand. Their son is named Jamie, and he was born on May 12, 1996. Chester even adopted Brand’s son Isiah. The adoption process was made official in 2006.

After Elka and Chester split up, the couple remained in close contact. They remained close after the break-up, so both parents can see their boys.

Meet Draven Sebastian

Chester had his second son with his first wife. Bennington married Samantha Marie Olit in 1996. Six years later, on April 19, 2002, Olit gave birth to Draven Sebastian Bennington. In 2005, Chester broke up with Samantha, and finalized their divorce.

In 2016, Bennington talked to the Las Vegas Review Journal about his huge family. “Let me give you a typical day. I’m a recovering alcoholic, that’s the first thing. I have a big family. I’ve got three kids in college, one in high school, one in fifth grade and twin girls who are 5; they are in pre-K. I have two pigmy goats, three bantam chickens, a tortoise, six dogs, two cats, fish, so I have a farm.”

Chester is also the Godfather for one of Chris Cornell’s Children

Bennington is also the godfather of one of Chris Cornell’s son Nicholas. Chester was present at the baptism of Cornell’s young son.

Chris Cornell committed suicide on May 17, 2017. Chester was deeply saddened by the loss of a dear friend. Bennington took to social media the day of Cornell’s passing to pay his respects.

The former NFL star had spent roughly nine years in prison for a 2007 robbery-kidnapping incident in Las Vegas. He received a nine-to-33-year sentence. But now, he will see freedom as early as October. OJ has plans to return to his Florida home upon his release.

The 70-year-old Simpson was very upbeat in court today. He even let out a healthy laugh during the proceedings when parole board Chairman Connie Bisbee mistakenly said that OJ was 90 years old.

“I feel like it,” said Simpson, with a laugh.

OJ still believes that accomplices turned their back on him during the trial for the Vegas robbery. Simpson thinks that they squealed on him in order to absolve them from further legal punishment. OJ said, “Unfortunately, they got a get-out-of-jail-free card when they said ‘O.J. told me (to do it),'” Simpson said. “Nothing I can do about that.”

The four members of the parole board unanimously voted for Simpson’s release. Board member Tony Corda said that OJ was ranked a “low risk to reoffend.”

OJ responded by saying “Thank you.”

Meanwhile, Uruguay unleashed legal pot to the market on Wednesday. For the first time, nationwide, citizens of Uruguay were able to get their hands on government-approved marijuana. So far, nearly five thousand Uruguayans have applied to the national registry to purchase pot. Seventy percent of those registered are males between the ages of 30 and 44. There’s gonna be a lot of high bros in Uruguay, dude.

But all because pot is legal doesn’t mean the government won’t still f*ck with your weed, whether it’s in the United States or south of the border.

Of course with any government program, there’s usually going to be restrictions, regulations, red tape, etc. In order for a citizen of Uruguay to buy ganja, they’ll need to register with the government’s spanking new pot bureaucracy, the Institute for the Regulation and Control of Cannabis (IRCCA). Anyone who purchases legal cannabis in that nation must be at least 18 years old or older. They’re also strict limitations on how much pot you can purchase at a time. The new rule is you can only buy a maximum of 10 grams (0.35oz) a week and nothing exceeding 40 grams per month. And you’re probably going to be pissed when I tell you how much THC is in the big government marijuana.

Right now, 16 pharmacies throughout Uruguay is selling marijuana. To purchase the product, the customer will also need to go through the process of fingerprint recognition. This is some real next level special ops sh*t just to get your hands on some simple grass.

Welp, it gets worst. When that lucky citizen decides to buy the greenery, they’re only given two options. The customer will have to chose between Alpha 1 and Beta 1, both developed in state-supervised fields. And oh, they’re both only 2 percent THC.

But the silver lining in all of this is that each gram of cannabis only costs $1.30 per gram. That sure does sound like a bargain if it weren’t watered down scheme weed. The lion’s share of the revenue (90 cents per sale) is driven back to the pot industry, while the rest is split up between the pharmacies and the state government. The tax revenue from marijuana sales will allegedly be used to fund prevention programs.

Lawmakers believe that their idea of legal weed will cut the illegal pot trade, devastate and destroy the marijuana black market, and raise a lot of tax money through sales. Good idea, geniuses! The only problem is that what they consider legal marijuana is barely even marijuana at all. Two percent THC, are you kidding me? Apparently not.

These smart guys believe that only allowing people to sell weed with only 2 percent THC will strike a blow to organized crime. Watered down buds will surely to put an end to the black market of cannabis, right? I’m sure no one will go to the dealer selling pot with 18-60+ percent THC content. They’ll be more than happy sucking down a gram with barely any kick to it. Of course, I’m be utterly sarcastic right now.

But this is only the beginning. Soon enough, many more will smarten up to the lucrative dynamics of this growing green boom.

By the way, it’s worth mentioning that only citizens of Uruguay can purchase legal buds in that country. It’s all good though. Their cannabis quality sounds terrible. Just awful. Two percent, are you f*cking kidding me?
