The SNL 40th Anniversary show was last night, and nothing subversive really happened because that’s not what Saturday Night Live does anymore. Fortunately, Jim Carrey wasn’t afraid to make NBC get nervous on the red carpet. He chatted with Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie on the red carpet, and actually dared to bring up disgraced NBC newsman Brian Williams. SNL sure wouldn’t.
You won’t see this moment preserved by NBC, either. Fortunately, Derrick Paul caught some quality video on his Vine feed. Thanks, Derrick–especially because it’s nice to see how Tina Fey looks genuinely disturbed by Carrey bringing up a taboo topic. She’s in the right kind of showbiz, you know, just like Brian Williams. Why mock that kind of rich and powerful person on the Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary show?
