The Utah football program will be the latest college football team to wear special throwback uniforms as part of Under Armour’s 150th-anniversary celebration. The No. 8 Utes will wear their Heritage uniforms this weekend when they play host to the UCLA Bruins.
Utah’s Heritage uniforms are “a nod to the Utes who played for the 1966 and 1967 teams; the only players to have ever donned this exact uniform…until now.”
The statement from Under Armour reads: “Utah has gone more than 50 years since they last strapped on the striking silver helmet and pants combo. The interlocking U’s on the helmet and the curved ‘Utes’ wordmark etched separately on each sleeve are reminiscent of a Utes team of a different age, but the determination to win with toughness endures. As the The Block U lights up bright for their home showdown against UCLA, these throwbacks will shine even brighter in the national spotlight.”
The Utes currently sit at 8-1 on the season and are the No. 8-ranked team in the most recent College Football Playoff rankings. Utah is currently on a five-game winning stream and sits in first-place in the Pac-12 South.
Kickoff between the Utes and UCLA at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday, November 16 is set for 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX.
