Christian Serratos began finding her way to stardom as Rosita Espinosa in the AMC hit series The Walking Dead. She had also previously played Angela Weber in The Twilight Saga series and Suzie Crabgrass in Nickelodeon’s Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.
Now, she’s going to have an opportunity to reach a new audience with the leading role in the upcoming Netflix bio-series about the Queen of Tejano music, Selena Quintanilla.
Serratos was born in Pasadena, California to a Mexican mother who was a jewelry designer and public relations and marketing agent at ACSPR. Her father was a set construction worker. Prior to getting into acting, the Mexican-American actress was signed to the Ford Modeling Agency at 7 years old.
While Christian will have a lot of work to do to live up to Jennifer Lopez’s portrayal of Selena in the 1997 film, she certainly has the look and the official trailer shows signs of promise for the 29-year-old.
