The Houston Astros and Tampa Bay Rays square off in Game 4 of their American League Division Series on Tuesday, October 8. Houston is looking to close out the Rays and will send right-hander Justin Verlander to the mound in St. Petersburg, Florida in an attempt to clinch the series.
Verlander previously pitched in Game 1 of the series and shut out the Rays during his seven-inning outing.
“He’s one of the best pitchers in the world,” Astros manager AJ Hinch said of Verlander, via ESPN.com. “It’s no more complicated than that. He’s ready, and it’s his game.”
Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash, meanwhile, said that he will be sending 25-year-old right-hander Diego Castillo to the mound in what will be his first postseason start.
