Internet troll and far-right smear campaign enthusiast Jacob Wohl is back in the headlines for yet another poorly thought out plan. If you are an avid Twitter user, chances are you have come across Wohl. The far-right provocateur is an avid Donald Trump fan and often goes on rants of self-promotion under the president’s latest tweets. He also has a habit of completely making things up and then getting roasted on social media.
We previously saw Wohl in a failed attempt to take down Robert Mueller with a fake “security firm” and bogus sexual assault allegations. He even had the audacity to hold a press conference projecting the fake claims. Later, we saw Wohl faking death threats against himself and reporting them to the police.
Now, Wohl has turned his attention to Democratic Presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg, according to a report from the Daily Beast, with the help of lobbyist Jack Burkman.
From the report:
A Republican source told The Daily Beast that lobbyist Jack Burkman and internet troll Jacob Wohl approached him last week to try to convince him to falsely accuse Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, of engaging him sexually while he was too drunk to consent. The source who spoke to The Daily Beast said Burkman and Wohl made clear that their goal was to kneecap Buttigieg’s momentum in the 2020 presidential race.
The man asked to remain anonymous out of a concern that the resulting publicity might imperil his employment, and because he said Wohl and Burkman have a reputation for vindictiveness.
The source reportedly provided an audio recording of his meeting with Wohl to The Daily Beast where the troll calls Buttigieg a “terminal threat” to President Donald Trump.
The report comes on the same day that a Medium post published under the name “Hunter Kelly” claimed that Buttigieg sexually assaulted him earlier this year. The post was shared on social media by none other than David Wohl, Jacob’s father.
Kelly, who studied at Ferris State University in Michigan, has denied being behind the post with his own post on Facebook:
“It’s important for everyone to know that I was not sexually assaulted and would never falsely accuse anyone. To keep it brief for now- I was approached by a political figure to come to DC to discuss political situations from the standpoint of a gay Republican. When I arrived they discussed Peter Buttigieg and started talking about how they would be working a campaign against him. I went to bed and woke up to a fake Twitter @RealHunterKelly and an article that I in no way endorsed or wrote. I have since left and am working on a formal statement to give to everyone including the Buttigieg family. Thank you for standing behind me and knowing that I would never accept or allow any of this.”
It looks like this is just another failed attempt to “own the libs” by Wohl.
