After plenty of rumors and speculation, Netflix has announced that its upcoming Homecoming film will be a Beyonce documentary. It has been believed for some time that a Beyonce project was coming to the streaming service and that was finally confirmed on Monday, April 8.
The trailer features a voiceover by Maya Angelou.
Along with an official trailer, we learned when the documentary will drop.
Footage from the trailer shows that the documentary will focus on Beyonce’s iconic performance at Coachella in 2018. In the documentary, fans will get to see behind-the-scenes footage looking at the preparations and hard work that went into putting on the show.
During the legendary performance — which was the first time that a black woman headlined Coachella — Beyonce brought out husband Jay-Z and sister Solange for special cameos. The real highlight, however, was when she brought out Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for a Destiny’s Child reunion where they performed hits like “Say My Name,” “Soldier,” and “Lose My Breath.”
