WWE legend Bret Hart was attacked by a fan at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Hart was addressed the crowd during his WWE Hall of Fame induction speech when a man rushed into the ring and tackled the superstar.
Security quickly responded and removed the man from the ring after a few moments of chaos.
“An over-exuberant fan surpassed our security at ringside and made his way briefly into the ring,” WWE said in a statement about the incident, via Fightful. “The individual has been turned over to the proper authorities.”
Along with security, many of the wrestlers who were next to the ring also jumped in.
Another angle of the action shows that once others intervened, the attacker found himself on the receiving end of some punches from responding security and wrestlers. He should have known that is exactly what would happen if you attempt to attack a legend like Bret Hart in a room full of professional wrestlers.
While he was being escorted out of the arena, one video shows the attacker taking a quick uppercut from someone while he is restrained. The internet seems to believe the man who struck the attacker was Dash Wilder, a former two-time NXT Tag Team Champion and current WWE Raw Tag Team Champion as part of The Revival.
The good news is that Hart appeared to be okay and he was able to finish his speech before leaving the ring.
