The 2019 NIT Championship Game goes down Thursday, April 4 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The game — which will air live on ESPN — will feature No. 5 seed Lipscomb vs. No. 2 seed Texas. Lipscomb earned its way into the title game with wins over Davidson, UNC Greensboro, NC State, and Wichita State.
Texas, meanwhile, knocked off South Dakota State, Xavier, Colorado, and TCU.
Texas has won the NIT once before — a 101-93 win over North Carolina State in 1978 — and Lipscomb has never hoisted the trophy. The Longhorns will enter the game as slim 1.5-point favorites.
