Cardi B is facing some public backlash after a video surfaced online — and it’s really a terrible look for the hip hop star. In the video which surfaced on Sunday, March 24 from Instagram Live, the Bronx rapper openly claims that she used to take men back to a hotel when she was a stripper before proceeding to drug and rob them.
“I had to go strip, I had to go, ‘Oh yeah, you want to f*ck me? Yeah, yeah, yeah, let’s go back to this hotel,’ and I drugged n*ggas up, and I robbed them. That’s what I used to do,” Cardi can be seen and heard saying.
WARNING: Video contains strong and explicit language.
The backlash from the video led to the hashtag #SurvingCardiB making the rounds on social media. The hashtag is based on the title of the Surviving R. Kelly documentary that aired on Lifetime which detailed his past sexual misconduct. That documentary led to social media outcry and now Cardi B’s comments are leading to discussion about a double-standard.
“Correct me if I’m wrong but Didn’t #Reebok drop rick Ross for his lyrics ‘Put Molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it,'” on Twitter user wrote. “Oh okay I expect for them to show her the same treatment.”
Another added: “She made racist and transphobic comments. She publicly admitted to using payola and to having a ghostwriter. She got innocent women beaten up. She publicly admitted to robbing men and stealing money from them. It’s time that this disgusting pig gets locked up.”

Cardi B previously announced that she planned on writing a book saying, “I am a rapper. I am a b*tch that came from the streets that came to the industry. I wasn’t a Disney channel star. I wasn’t a nun. I wasn’t a saint.”
We will have to see how she responds to the latest backlash, but it doesn’t look like she is paying too much attention.
