PFL 9 took place at Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, California on Saturday, Oct. 13, with the playoffs in the light heavyweight and lightweight divisions. In the quarterfinals, Vinny Magalhaes was able to secure a highlight that will be tough to beat for the remainder of the night.
Magalhaes was facing Rakim Cleveland for a shot at the semifinals when he took just 80 seconds to secure an incredible flying triangle/kimura submission win.
After Magalhaes, a veteran of the UFC and The Ultimate Fighter brought Cleveland into his guard with the flying triangle, he latched onto Cleveland’s arm and began to torque the kimura which forced the tap.
In the other light heavyweight quarterfinal bout, Bozigit Ataez made quick work of Emiliano Sordi with a TKO win in just under two minutes.
Magalhaes and Bozigit will now face off in the final bout of the night at Long Beach Arena.
You can check out the video of Magalhaes’ impressive finish below.
