After a thrilling tournament so far, the 2018 Women’s College World Series is set to get underway on June 4th.
The matchup pits the Florida State Seminoles and the Washington Huskies. This will be the first time these two teams meet for the championship.
For the Seminoles, this will be their tenth appearance in the WCWS and second appearance in three years. They haven’t won a National Championship since going back to back in 1981 and 1982. How the Seminoles got to the World Series was as dramatic as you could ask for. Going through the elimination bracket, the FSU women rattled off four straight victories, including two over UCLA on Sunday afternoon and evening.
For the Washington Huskies, this will be their second consecutive WCWS appearance and 13th in the program’s history. Coming into the tournament, the Huskies were the fifth seed in the country.
The Huskies kept that roll going in the tourney, steamrolling the competition in the Seattle Super Regional. Washington’s run only got more impressive as they knocked off the number one (Oregon) and number four (Oklahoma) teams in the country for the right to play for it all.
It should be a great series between two of the best that college softball has to offer. We have all the info. here how to catch or stream the three game-slate between the Seminoles and the Huskies.
