Diane Guerrero is a Colombian-American actress who is who is best known for her acting roles as inmate Maritza Ramos on the Netflix original series Orange Is the New Black and Lina on Jane the Virgin. In addition to her growing acting career, Guerrero is also a published author.
Guerrero, who was born in Passaic, New Jersey, has Colombian roots. Despite the fact that the rest of her family was deported to Colombia when she was 14, Guerrero grew up in Boston, Massachusettes. Due to his experience, Guererro is an outspoken advocate for immigration reform.
She began acting in 2010 when she was 24-years-old. A year later, she moved to New York City and studied acting at the Susan Batson Studios, where she met her manager Josh Taylor.
