Adult film star Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, appeared on CBS’s 60 Minutes Sunday night to discuss details about an alleged affair with United States President Donald Trump that took place over a decade ago. Allegedly, she received around $130,000 from Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen, as part of an agreement before the 2016 presidential election; according to reports, Daniels even offered to return the money in the hush agreement in order to speak freely about her story.
What was said during the interview?
During the interview, according to CBS, Daniels discussed what it had been like being asked to keep quiet about her story:
“I was in a parking lot, going to a fitness class with my infant daughter. T– taking, you know, the seats facing backwards in the backseat, diaper bag, you know, gettin’ all the stuff out.”
“And a guy walked up on me and said to me, ‘Leave Trump alone. Forget the story.’ And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, ‘That’s a beautiful little girl. It’d be a shame if something happened to her mom.’ And then he was gone.”
“I remember going into the workout class. And my hands are shaking so much, I was afraid I was gonna– drop (my daughter).”
Daniels also discussed coming forward has caused a lot of things she already feared would happen:
“Without a doubt. I know for a fact. I believe, without a shadow of a doubt, in my heart, and some people argue that I don’t have one of those, but whatever, that I was doing the right thing. I turned down a large payday multiple times because one, I didn’t wanna kiss and tell and be labeled all the things that I’m being labeled now. I didn’t wanna take away from the legitimate and legal, I’d like to point out, career that I’ve worked very hard to establish.”
“And most importantly, I did not want my family and my child exposed to all the things that she’s being exposed to right now. because everything that I was afraid of coming out has come out anyway, and guess what? I don’t have a million dollars.”
As Daniels continued, she never saw the man involved with the incident again, saying she did not report what had happened to police because she was “scared” at the time.
What is going on in this case?
According to CNN, the White House denies the affair took place.
Daniels is currently in a legal battle with Trump over the “hush agreement,” alleged in the above story, in which Daniels was claimed to have signed just before the 2016 election, earning $130,000 from Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen for her silence. According to CNN, Daniels argues that the agreement is void as Trump himself did not sign the agreement.
