Georgina Rose Chapman, an English fashion designer, actress, and co-founder of the fashion label Marchesa, has left her husband Harvey Weinstein after the bombshell sexual assault and rape allegations from his past came to light.
Weinstein, the 65-year-old co-founder of Miramax and The Weinstein Company, and Chapman, the 41-year-old co-founder of Marchesa, got married in 2007 and have two children together.
Chapman released a statement to PEOPLE about her husband and the allegations:
“My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.”
According to sources close to the disgraced Hollywood mogul, there are plans for Weinstein to enter a treatment facility.
Chapman, who was born in London, England, is the daughter of Caroline Wonfor, a journalist, and Brian Chapman, a co-owner of the organic coffee company Percol. She attended Marlborough College in Wiltshire.
In 2004, Craig launched Marchesa along with former model Keren Craig.
Chapman began dating Weinstein in December 2004 after he became divorced from his first wife. Weinstein and Chapman got married on December 15, 2007 in Connecticut.
Chapman gave birth to the couple’s first child, daughter India Pearl, on August 30, 2010, and their second child, a boy named Dashiell Max Robert, on April 11, 2013.
