Kurt Russell Says He Saw a UFO Decades Ago And We Believe Him

Actor Kurt Russell – Star Lord’s dad in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 for all you young guns out there – has made a pretty shocking and awesome revelation: he was the pilot who reported the famous “Phoenix Lights” UFO sighting 20 years ago.

In a recent interview with the BBC, Snake Plissken said he was flying his longtime partner Goldie Hawn’s son (Oliver Hudson) to see his girlfriend when they both saw lights in a triangular formation passing over Phoenix on March 13, 1997. Thousands of people reported seeing the lights between 7:30 P.M. and 10:30 P.M. that night. It was a big thing at the time.

“I saw six lights over the airport in an absolute uniform, in a ‘v’ shape, and…I was just looking at them,” Russell said.

Hudson pushed Russell to report the lights to ground control, which said it didn’t see anything on radar (classic cover up answer).

“Well, okay, I’m going to declare it’s unidentified, it’s flying, and it’s six objects,” the actor responded.

Russell and Hudson did not discuss the sighting again and even forgot about it (which, honestly, is kind of weird since they very well may have seen a UFO…) until two years later when Hawn was watching a UFO TV show that featured the Phoenix Lights incident.

“I’d never thought about it since then,” the actor said. I guess when you’re an international superstar, interstellar encounters are just par the course.

“The fascinating part to me is that it literally just went out of my head … had I not seen that show, I’d have never thought of it again,” he said.

It’s hard to stress just how weird Russell’s nonchalance about this whole thing is. The Phoenix Lights incident was a MASS UFO sighting reported all throughout Phoenix, Arizona and Sonora, Mexico. That’s a 300 mile surface area with thousands of reported sightings. There were allegedly two distinct events involved in the incident: a triangular formation of lights seen to pass over the state, and a series of stationary lights seen in the Phoenix area.

If you’re one of those clowns who doesn’t believe in aliens than congratulations on your self-serving view of humanity’s importance in the never ending and always expanding vastness of the universe. But if you’re like me than Russell, who was already a childhood hero (shoutout to Jack Burton), just became even more of a living legend.

Seriously though, Kurt, how did you not think that was worth a follow up conversation or anything?
