The semi-finals of the Champions League kicks off with an epic Madrid Derby as Real and Atletico face off at the legendary Santiago Bernabéu. The matchup is a rematch of last year’s Champions League final, which Real won 5-3 on penalties.
Coming off an impressive 6-3 aggregate victory over German giants Bayern Munich, Real Madrid comes into today’s game tied for first in La Liga with 81 points. As for Atletico Madrid, they currently sit in third place with 71 points, behind Real and Barcelona.
As for injuries, Real will be without forward Gareth Bale, who is out with a calf injury. Meanwhile, Atletico will be without defender Juanfran, who is out with a thigh problem. They will also be missing defender Sime Vrsaljko, who has a hip injury, centre-back Jose Gimenez, who has an injured groin, and Yannick Carrasco, who is doubtful with a collarbone injury.
