Tonight on Showtime, Adrien Broner (32-2, 24 KOs) and Adrian Granados (18-4-2, 12 KOs) will face off in a scheduled 10-round welterweight bout. Granados will definitely have his hands full in this boxing match, as he’ll have to fight a former four-division world titleholder in front of his home crowd.

The Cincinnati, Ohio native has lost some of his luster in recent years, though. On June 22, 2013, Broner beat Paulie Malignaggi via split decision to become the WBA welterweight champion and extend his record to a perfect 27-0. But after this huge victory, Broner lost two of his next seven fights.

None of Broner’s wins over this span were against top-notch competition, but to his credit, he has ended his last two fights via knockout. Here are the highlights from Broner’s ninth round knockout of Ashley Theophane on April 1, 2016.

Granados is a heavy underdog in this fight, but he does have the benefit of being very familiar with Broner’s boxing style. The Chicago, Illinois native used to frequently spar with Broner, and it will be interesting to see if he’s able to use that to his advantage. Granados is riding a hot streak, as he’s won his last five fights. He’s also never been knocked out in his career, so it’s a good bet that tonight’s bout will be decided on the score cards.

We’ve got a sensational Big Ten showdown on tap for this afternoon, as the Maryland Terrapins will travel to Madison to take on the Wisconsin Badgers. It will be interesting to see how Melo Trimble and the Maryland offense fairs against Wisconsin’s stifling defense. The Badgers are currently 4th in the NCAA in scoring defense, giving up just 60.5 points per game.

The #23 ranked Terrapins (22-4, 10-3 Big Ten) will come into today’s game with a two-game winning streak, as they bounced back nicely from a rough stretch of basketball. After losing back-to-back games to #23 Purdue and Penn State, Maryland rattled off consecutive wins over Ohio State and Northwestern.

The #11 ranked Badgers (21-5, 10-3 Big Ten) have dropped two straight, losing 66-59 to Northwestern and 64-58 at Michigan. Before these losses, Wisconsin had been playing damn good basketball, as they were the proud owners of an eight-game winning streak.

Today’s game will have a huge impact on who brings home the regular season Big Ten crown. Currently, it’s a three-team race for first place, with Maryland, Wisconsin, and Purdue (11-3) all within a half game of each other as we head down the home stretch of conference play.

The All-Star Game will fittingly be the grand finale of the 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend. This will be the 66th edition of the All-Star Game, and the Eastern Conference holds a commanding 37-28 lead over the Western Conference in the series.

This will be the third All-Star Game ever held in New Orleans, which bodes extremely well for the Eastern Conference and Cleveland Cavaliers. We’ve been introducing you to our Miss COED 2017 finalists over the past few days, and next up is Ashley Williams. The sophomore at Creighton University in Nebraska is an English and Secondary Education major and hopes to first become a high school english teacher and eventually work for the Department of Education. Get it, girl.

As an Air Force brat, Ashley has moved 12 times in the last 19 years yet wouldn’t trade her experiences for anything. Her close-knit family has made countless sacrifices, but she doesn’t see it as anything but positive. She’s grateful – and we’re grateful to her father who is currently serving this country.

Although Ashley is clearly a gem, I’ll leave you with a few more fun facts about our girl reppin’ Wildcard North before you make a decision.

• Currently, she’s living in Colorado. 
• She’s the Manager and Statistician for the Men’s Club Lacrosse team.

This is a very good question in case you have an urgent letter to send because you’ve been living in the 1950s and there’s no e-mail to be found. Here’s the answer: No, the United States Postal Service will not be delivering mail on Presidents’ Day (Monday, February 20). In addition, all post offices and federal offices will be closed.

This means that both businesses and households will not be receiving mail or USPS packages as it is a federal holiday. However, both UPS and FedEx will provide normal pickup and delivery services on Presidents’ Day.

Marisa Cazanave, a female teacher at Brooklyn Technical High School, has resigned after authorities discovered she was ‘in love’ with a student.

Cazanave, 33, is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a teen after the boy’s mother found texts and emails professing their love for each other.

Via NY Post:

The married Marisa Cazanave, 33, and the teen both denied any sexual contact, but dozens of texts and e-mails found by the boy’s mom revealed the pair was in love and planned a rendezvous, the city’s Special Commissioner of Investigation reported.

In an May 7 e-mail to the teen, Cazanave gushed, “You make me unbelievably happy,” but agonized over their forbidden passion.

“I honestly cannot reason how spending your time with me and sneaking around instead of time with your friends seems like the better way to spend your free time,” she wrote.

The student replied the next day: “You feel like home and when I’m holding you in my arms time freezes and all of my worries and problems fade away for that moment.

Cazanave, who was an employee at Brooklyn Tech for four years, quit instead of facing misconduct charges after a Special Commissioner of Investigation concluded its probe in October.

While her resignation was supposed to take effect until February, Cazanave never returned to school after Christmas break, with a source at the school telling the Post that the school ‘hustled her out to avoid a scandal.’

After months of angry quotes, awkward interviews, and heated matchups, Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant were teammates once more as the two shared the court in New Orleans for the 2017 NBA All-Star Game.

It didn’t take long for Westbrook and Durant to find the old rhythm that once made them the most dangerous duo in the league.

Just like any college kid, Connor Cox, 18, was looking forward to a care package from his mother.

However, Connor, just like any college kid, left his room a mess while he was home for winter vacation, an offense that his mom would not let slide. Instead of sending her son a care package, Terri Cox sent her son the trash he forgot to throw away before he left.

“When I first got the package I was thrilled because I love getting mail from home,” Connor wrote to Teen Vogue. “Then I opened it and realized what it was.” And not only did Terri dump the contents of his trash can into the box, but she also gathered all the trash she could find lying around his room and added it to the box as well.

“I called my mom after and we shared a laugh but she also reminded me of why she did it,” Connor told Teen Vogue. “My mom has never done anything like this before, but she has a great sense of humor so it didn’t particularly surprise me.”

Mackenzie Cox, Connor’s sister, replied to further clarify what his mother has done:

“Actually it was the trash you left on your floor. she was v proud of herself.”

I can only imagine how giddy this kid’s mom was when she was scheming this up. Classic mother shenanigans.

After six seasons of wallowing away in Sacramento, Boogie has finally been freed! The Sacramento Kings agreed to trade DeMarcus Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night, a mere two weeks after publicly claiming that the Kentucky graduate was off the market.

Sources told ESPN that while Sunday’s All-Star Game in New Orleans was playing out, the Kings and Pelicans came to terms on a trade that will send Cousins and swingman Omri Casspi to the All-Star hosts in exchange for Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway, a 2017 first-round pick and a 2017 second-rounder.

The first-round pick that Sacramento will acquire in this fast-moving blockbuster deal is top-three protected in the June draft, ESPN has learned. That means New Orleans must immediately surrender the pick if it lands at No. 4 or lower.

NBA sources say the deal is likely to be submitted Monday for league approval. Similarly, league sources told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne that the Pelicans are confident they will be able to convince Cousins to sign a long-term contract extension to stay in New Orleans.

“This is an unbelievable weekend,” Davis told ESPN’s Jeff Goodman after learning of the trade following his MVP news conference, greeting the news with a smile and a big thumbs-up.

“All-Star MVP and now getting Boogie. It doesn’t get better than this.”

For the 2016-17 season, Cousins is averaging 27.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.

After knocking out Ronda Rousey’s boyfriend Travis Browne, UFC fighter Derrick Lewis ripped into Browne for “putting his hands on women,” referring to accusations that Browne’s ex-wife made against him last year.

Later in the interview, Lewis went on to ask, “Where’s Ronda Rousey’s fine ass at?”

When Stann asked Lewis about the victory, Lewis surprised with his answer, bringing up domestic violence allegations made against Browne by his ex-wife and asking about the whereabouts of Browne’s girlfriend Ronda Rousey.

CTV footage of Kim Jong-nam’s assassination has been made available online, showing the exact moment Kim Jong-un’s estranged half-brother was murdered at the Kuala Lumpur airport.

The video, shot by security cameras inside Kuala Lumpur airport and first aired by Japan’s Fuji TV, shows a woman coming up behind Kim, putting her arms around him and pulling something across his face.

Jong-nam, North Korea’s supreme leader Kim Jong-un’s estranged half-brother, is then seen heading towards an airport medical clinic. He was taken from the airport by ambulance but died on the way to the hospital.

The grainy security camera footage, obtained by Fuji TV, appears to show two women approach Kim from different directions as he stands at a ticket booth in the airport.

Malaysian police believe that Kim Jong-nam was poisoned and South Korean officials have said they believe the murder was carried out by North Korean agents.

Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen was named one of three finalists for the Walter Peyton Man of the Year Award this year, an honor given to players for their exemplary community service and excellence on the field. Sadly, his younger brother is not following in his footsteps.

Kevin Olsen, quarterback for the Charlotte 49ers, was arrested Sunday afternoon on rape charges. He has been charged with felony second-degree forcible rape, cyberstalking, assault on a female, and second-degree forced sex, the Charlotte Observer reports.

This is not the first time Olsen, 22, has found himself in trouble as his college career has been marred by off-the-field incidents. In 2013, Olsen redshirted at Miami but left the college a year later after reportedly being suspended for repeated team rules violations and for failing a drug test. According to the Observer, Olsen was also charged with DUI and possession of a fake or stolen identification during his Hurricanes tenure.

The talented QB then transferred to Towson University, but was kicked off the team in March 2015 for violating team rules, the Baltimore Sun reports.

“People are going to say stuff,” Olsen told the Observer in an August 2016 interview. “It’s never as good or as bad as what you hear. I won’t dwell on the past. I guess you could say I regret it, probably more of putting my family, friends, and coaching staff through it more than anything else.”

Charlotte football coach Brad Lambert confirmed that the school is aware of Olsen’s arrest and that he has been suspended from the team. In a statement, the university says it’s “reviewing the case consistent with its disciplinary procedures.”

A spokesman for the Panthers said that Greg Olsen declined to comment on his brother’s arrest.

Note to self: don’t ever mess with Darrelle Revis.

The New York Jets star was charged last week with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of robbery, and one count of conspiracy: aggravated assault for an alleged brawl in Pittsburgh. He also is facing a misdemeanor charge of making terroristic threats. Revis turned himself into Philadelphia police on Friday.

Despite the charges, there has been some speculation as to what really went down that night. While that mystery still exists, a new chapter has been added to this wild story and it only perpetuates one clear theme: don’t ever mess with Darrelle Revis.

A video has surfaced featuring two unconscious men who were reportedly knocked out by Revis. In the video, you can hear a man offscreen yelling that he “just knocked both of these motherf—–s out.” The man then says to a third person, “Shut up before I knock your a– out next.” Check it out below.

According to the New York Post, the victims have been identified as Dallas Cousins and Zacheriah Jarvis. However, Revis’ camp has claimed that he was the one who was attacked that night.

Attorney Blaine Jones has said that Revis was “1,000%” the victim in the situation. “He tried to retreat. He did everything in his power to try to get this situation to die down, to de-escalate this situation that the other group started,” Jones said.

“Darrelle was by himself when he was physically assaulted by one of the men, and unfortunately, at what point in time do you say enough is enough?” Jones has since removed himself from the Revis case, which will now be headed by Robert DelGreco.

So, what exactly happened that night?

According to reports, Revis was approached by a 22-year-old man early Monday morning who recognized the NFL star. He then began following Revis and recording video of him on his cell phone. Revis is said to have asked him to stop filming. When the man declined, Revis allegedly took the phone from him and tried to delete the video. It was at this time that a second 22-year-old man became involved and tried to also get the phone back, which Revis then threw into the street. It is believed the altercation escalated at this point.

Thank god evil super villains are only in the movies, because if they were real, Elon Musk would be the evilest of them all. Just look at the guy.

His latest endeavor was sending supplies to the International Space Station, and then landing the rocket on the exact same spot it took off from.

A launch attempt on Saturday was scrubbed just 13 seconds before liftoff out of caution, due to an unexpected reading from the rocket’s second stage.

Today’s launch had action in the downward direction as well: The Falcon 9’s first stage came back to Earth successfully, landing a few miles from the Florida launch site about 8 minutes after liftoff as planned. It was SpaceX’s first daytime landing at the site, called Landing Zone 1, at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

SpaceX has launched the first private rocket from the same historic site that saw some of NASA’s greatest space missions, then landed a booster nearby in a resounding success.

The California-based company’s Falcon 9 rocket launched a robotic Dragon cargo capsule toward the International Space Station today (Feb. 19) at 9:39 a.m. EST (1439 GMT) from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center — the same pad that once hosted Apollo moon missions and space shuttle launches.

“Liftoff of the Falcon 9 to the space station on the first commercial launch from Kennedy Space Center’s historic Pad 39a!” said NASA commentator George Diller.

Vitaly Churkin, the Russian ambassador to the United Nations, has died at New York Presbyterian Hospital after suffering heart problems. He was 64 years old.

Churkin was at the Russian embassy on East 67th Street when he became sick with a “cardiac condition” around 9:30 A.M., sources told the New York Post. Russian foreign ministry gave no details on the circumstances of his death but offered condolences to his family. Churkin died one day before his 65th birthday.

Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations was rushed to a Manhattan hospital Monday morning after suffering heart problems, sources told The Post.

Vitaly Churkin was at the Russian embassy on East 67th Street when he became sick with a “cardiac condition” around 9:30 a.m., sources said.

He was unconscious and needed CPR when he was rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital. He died at the hospital at the age of 64.

The 64-year-old diplomat served as Russia’s permanent representative to the UN since 2006.
