As you get older, Halloween starts to abandon its scary and frightening roots and morphs into date night. When did this happen and why has this become a big thing? Can’t we just go back to the days of throwing toilet paper on trees and getting as much candy as possible? Those were the days.

It’s kind of silly when you think about it. Halloween is basically a beauty pageant. Once you walk in the door, people are going to judge you and judge you hard. If you’re wearing a lame costume, you’re a sitting duck for gossip. “Hey, did you see what John and Mary are wearing? Maybe they should try a little harder next year because it’s not funny.” God forbid that you wear the same costume as someone else. There can’t be two Donald Trumps at the same party or you’ll look like a fool. This might sound silly, but I’ve witnessed it firsthand and I would bet my life savings (don’t expect a lot of money) that you have, too.

Whether you like it or not, if you have a significant other, you have to wear a matching costume. Those are the rules. You can try to be a rebel and wear two separate costumes, but good luck convincing your girlfriend or boyfriend to do that. It’s not gonna happen. Love him or hate him, this is some Mount Rushmore type shit from Drake. Drake recently started dating model India Love, but that was only after he broke it off with her sister Crystal Westbrooks. If that isn’t an all-time move, I don’t know what is.

According to Mirror:

Crystal wasn’t too happy about the pair’s romance and hit out on social media in a string of tweets.

“That awkward moment when she hops on your exes….. Nvm nvm nvm #iFeelLikeRayJ. I need answers sway,” one is believed to have read.

India also posted a cryptic tweet of her own, with some believing she was taking aim at Drake’s ex Rihanna.

Anyway, this all has something to do with Rihanna, and Drake getting back at her for their mutual relationship. But honestly, who cares. I’m a man of principle, albeit few principles. One of them is to not give a flying horse turd about celebrity relationships. They’re regular people, doing regular people things. We have enough nonsense in our own lives to be spending valuable seconds of life thinking about these people. Moral of the story is, Drake was bangin’ Rihanna, got like kinda dumped, started banging another girl, dumped her, and then started nailing her sister.

A yet-to-be-identified-gorilla at the London Zoo (or Zoological Society of London if brevity isn’t your thing) broke out of his enclosure today by literally hurling himself repeatedly at the glass enclosure until he broke through it.

According to The Standard, Jonny Briers, 22, told them:

“We were at the gorilla enclosure and the gorilla charged at the glass. It didn’t break it, we saw it do it earlier in the day as well.

And then we started to leave and we heard the siren go off. Then we saw zookeepers running and they told us to go inside. We went into the aquarium and they locked the doors.

We were in there for about half an hour to 45 minutes. We didn’t know what was happening. A zookeeper kept us calm and said it was an animal escape siren.”

A gorilla at the Zoological Society of London (ZSL aka London Zoo)  broke out of his enclosure today by THROWING HIMSELF REPEATEDLY AT THE GLASS AND BREAKING THROUGH IT. Like, if there’s a kind of gorilla that scares me the most, it’s that kind. And apparently we’re not the only ones–one staff member of the ZSL was heard referring to the animal as a “f*cking psycho.”

The name of the gorilla has been confirmed to be Kombuka, the lone male silverback gorilla in the enclosure. You can be sure that this guy was 100% on a mission to avenge Harambe.

The absolute last place in the world I’d want to be is trapped in a zoo while a gorilla is on the loose. Yes, there’s the small chance that the gorilla and I could become best friends (which would be sweet as hell), but there’s a much higher chance that the gorilla instead chooses to rip me limb from limb, rapes me like a ragdoll, and eats my face–all while I’m still alive. So yeah, get me the hell out of that zoo.

Update–10/13/2016: Here’s video of Kumbuka right before he broke the glass.

According to witnesses, the gorilla had seemed upset and agitated all day. In fact, zookeepers had told guests not to stare at Kombuka so as not to upset him further. Some of the guests, however, refused to listen and even were caught egging him on. Witnesses say that he threw himself at the glass wall multiple times before actually breaking it. In the photo below, you can see the gorilla in question. Immediately after the gorilla broke through, members of staff told everyone to find shelter inside and locked the doors.

Staff members then grabbed tranquilizer guns, found the gorilla, and subdued it.

The New York Giants got off to a fast start this season, winning their first two games and sitting in a tie for first place in the NFC East. But since then, they’ve hit a rough patch, losing their last three games and falling to last place in the NFC East.

Rookie head coach Ben McAdoo tried to pump up his team to get them out of this funk by playing them a clip from Step Brothers. As if using a Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly comedy classic to motivate a football team isn’t strange enough, the scene McAdoo chose was downright bizarre. This, of all things, is what McAdoo went with to get his squad fired up.

According to the New York Post, here’s the message that McAdoo was trying to convey.

“Baltimore’s a very physical team, and we just want to make sure we’re ready for that when they come in here on Sunday and we show how physical and heavy-handed of a football we can be.”

“Basically he said was, ‘They’re gonna try to come in and try to bully us,’ ” Dwayne Harris said. “We’re at our house, and we gotta come out and just play like it’s our house.”

Big Blue’s skid started by not defending MetLife Stadium from the Redskins. I asked Justin Pugh what he thought of the Step Brothers video.

“I thought it was funny,” he said.

What was funny about it?

“They’re licking white dogs—-,” Pugh said, and laughed. “How do you not laugh at that, you know what I mean? He’s got a belly full of white dogs—-, that’s funny.”

Asked what he took from it, Pugh said: “That this team’s gonna come in, they got some veteran guys, they’re gonna be bullies. But this is our house. This is our stadium. We set the tone, and we gotta come out and do that early in this game.”

I still don’t know what the hell McAdoo was thinking. Literally any other Step Brothers clip would’ve been better than watching Brennan Huff and Dale Doback get their ass kicked by kids. If he wanted his team to stand up to bullies, he should’ve just played the clip where Dale punches Derek Huff in the face and knocks him off the tree house. Or, he could’ve showed them the scene where Brennan comes to Dale’s aid at the Catalina Wine Mixer to demonstrate the importance of teamwork.

McAdoo is such a goddamn moron it’s unbelievable. He better show his team how Brennan and Dale got revenge on those kids or the Ravens are going to beat them by a million points on Sunday.

Look, I get what NBC is going for, the first performance went insanely viral, so why not churn out another one? But, f*ck, at what cost NBC? Democratic hopeful Dean Hart called out his Republican opponent, Michael Montesano, for not passing legislation that would name a portion of a state road after the Long Island legend Billy Joel. Hart believes that he should take over Montesano’s seat on the New York State Assembly because he will correct this injustice. Hart even said he plans to pledge $1 million to construct a giant statue outside of the Nassau Coliseum when it reopens next year.  Here’s the full story.

I can’t express how much I support this motion. Although I’m not from Long Island, I’m from New York and this is Billy Joel’s sanctuary. The man has only blessed our ears with his piano wizardry and hit songs for over forty years. I mean I guess that’s important, right? I bet Montesano has never seen Joel play at Madison Square Garden. He’s only shattered the record for most performances played there by a single artist and he continues to play at MSG at least once a month. It was one of the best concerts I have ever been to and if you haven’t gone, stop what you are doing and go buy tickets.

I’ll cut Montesano a little credit. He did try to get a portion of a road named after Joel, but it was shut down because Joel is still alive. I feel like there’s a saying for this. “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” That’s right, try harder! It’s time to give this living legend the honor he rightfully deserves.

If Hart gets this done, he should not only be elected to the New York State Assembly, but he should be the next president of the United States.

Kumbuka, a gorilla at the Zoological Society of London, escaped from his enclosure on Thursday afternoon. According to witnesses, Kumbuka was able to break out after repeatedly throwing himself against the glass, then running for safety. The gorilla was subdued by zoo keepers armed with tranquilizer darts, a decidedly less violent reaction than what happened at the Cincinnati Zoo with Harambe (RIP).

Although Kumbuka’s name hasn’t yet been confirmed by the London Zoo (probably in an attempt to keep memes off the web), he’s the only male silverback gorilla listed on the ZSL website.

What Happened?

Around 3:15 P.M. local time, Kumbuka escaped from his enclosure after breaking through the glass. Rob Hogan, a guest of the zoo, took this photo of Kumbuka apparently a couple of minutes before he escaped.

Once ZSL security was alerted about the escape, they told the staff to lock everyone indoors. They also called Scotland Yard and asked for armed police officers to help secure the area. You can see those officers walking the grounds below.

An eyewitness to the scene, Brad Evans, was in the zoo and told BBC Radio London what happened.

“We were having a cup of coffee in the main restaurant area when they locked us all in and said there was an incident.

“They gave us free teas and coffees and obviously we were asking what was going on and they told us that a gorilla had got out of its enclosure.

“As we were waiting we saw the police turning up in numbers with loads of guns.”

Who Is Kumbuka?

According to the ZSL website, Kumbuka is an 18-year-old male western lowland silverback gorilla who arrived at the London Zoo in early 2013 from the Paignton Zoo in Dover. The website states that although he had never had a female mate before, he was more than flirty when he met with the other female gorillas at the London Zoo.

Red Cup Rebellion unearthed a 2008 video where Hardy, then a star D-lineman at Ole Miss, lost to a 17-year-old that was half his size during a fraternity boxing event in Oxford, Mississippi.

Also, I’d like to go on record as saying that bouncing in beer pong is for total dweebs. If you’re an avid bouncer, you are a gigantic coward, and I have zero respect for you as a human. Look your opposition in the eye and hit cups like a man of dignity and honor. Sneaking around and trying to catch the other team off guard is a bush league move of epic proportions. Bouncers are spineless, conniving snakes, and they should all be deported to Antarctica.

Meet Rava Ray, the stunning yet assuredly crazy Tahitian model who strips naked to go swimming with dangerous marine creatures to create photography. Ray, who clearly has never heard of Steve Irwin, RIP)  holds the venomous stingray ‘dearest to her heart’. Yupp, crazy.

 Rava, also known as the ‘Stingray Queen,’ grew up on the small South Pacific Island Mo’orea and she says she learned to ‘share the water’ with sharks, whales, turtles and dolphins.

After Rava learned how  to dive and became familiar with underwater photography, her family moved to Hawaii, where she began to shoot and swim with turtles, sharks and dolphins.

Rava claims to have never felt nervous around these animals, because she does not abelieve it is an animal’s first instinct to attack a person.

‘I don’t think I’ve ever posed a threat to an animal or been in a situation where I would have been attacked,’ she told Daily Mail.

Ms Ray admitted she has been bitten by a stingray in the past, but said it was a ‘total accident’. I’m not sure how an animal can do something on accident, but sure Rava, whatever you say.

Chris Rock returns to the fold of stand-up comedy after eight years on the stand-up shelf. The streaming-leviathan known as Netflix announced today that they have acquired the comedic services of Chris, and will be paying him $40 million for two stand-up specials.

$40 million will help Rock usher in the new year, as his first stand-up special will be taped in 2017 following his stand-up world tour. That’s not just a whole lot of dough, but that’s a record-breaking amount. According to The Hollywood Reporter, $20 million per special is setting a new standard for stand-up comedians, besting the likes of top shelf jokers Amy Schumer and Louis C.K.

How did Rock rake in so much moolah with just two specials of comedy? He’s getting paid more than some of the leading actors in Hollywood. Well, there was a bidding war to secure the talent of a stand-up act that gave the audience something Bigger and Blacker (the title of a previous special). Chris pushed the envelope with his past comedy specials, so filming studios from HBO to Amazon to Hulu were all looking to stream Rock’s stand-up special, but they were put on ice by Netflix who made the comedian an offer he couldn’t refuse.

Officials at Netflix are already proudly exalting their newly-signed mega-star: “Chris Rock is a beloved actor and director, and his remarkable stand-up makes him comic royalty. There is no one like him, and Netflix offers the global platform and creative freedom that will serve as a perfect home for someone with his incredible talent,” said the Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos.

The world-renowned comic Chris Rock is also very excited about his partnership with Netflix: “I’m very excited to be working with Ted and Lisa and all the good people at Netflix. I can’t wait to get back on stage,” Rock said. He is returning to Netflix after appearing in A Very Murray Christmas special alongside fellow comedian Bill Murray last December.

In 2016, Chris Rock hosted the Academy Awards, but in the year 2017, Rock will return to his roots, cutting his craft on the microphone and entertaining the fans the way he only can.

The San Diego Chargers are in the midst of a brutally painful season. Whether it be mounting injuries, or finding new, painful ways to lose, the Chargers are on the brink of a wasted season. This week doesn’t seem like the week they’ll right the ship, as a Broncos team coming off their first loss of the season visits San Diego for a Thursday Night Football matchup.

The Broncos lost their first game of the season last week when its struggling offense failed to keep up with the high-flying Atlanta Falcons. Even though Denver was able to hold Julio Jones to just 29 receiving yards, just one week after he racked up 300 against the Carolina Panthers, they were not able to contain Atlanta’s running backs. Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman combined for 286 total yards and two touchdowns to push Atlanta to a 23-16 win.

The Chargers have fallen to 1-4 with their lone win coming over the Jaguars back in Week 2. To make the losses even more painful, San Diego has led in the second half of every game they’ve lost, including blowing a 17 point lead over Kansas City, and a 13 point lead over New Orleans. disappearing acts from 17- and 13-point fourth-quarter advantages against Kansas City and New Orleans, respectively.

If San Diego has any chance of saving their season, they’ll need to pull out a victory against their AFC West rivals. With San Diego in desperation mode, and the defending-champion Broncos coming off their first loss of the season, looks for tonight’s game to be highly contested! On Wednesday, October 12, SLAM Magazine ranked Carmelo Anthony as the 15th best player in the NBA. Unsurprisingly, Anthony disagreed with this ranking, thinking that he deserved to be placed among the league’s elite.

Today on First Take, Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman debated Melo’s ranking, and there was no shortage of fireworks. Smith thought that it was insane to say there’s 14 players better than Anthony in the NBA, while Kellerman begged to differ. Kellerman said that he’d take Blake Griffin over Melo, and that is when the sh*t hit the fan.

I usually hate these types of dumbass shows and their inconsequential arguments, but that was the hardest I’ve laughed in a long time. I legitimately thought that Smith was so thoroughly disgusted with Kellerman that he was going to get physically ill. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such outrage from a man in my entire life.

If anyone cares, my opinion on Anthony falls somewhere in the middle of Kellerman and Smith. I feel like 15th was actually a pretty generous ranking for Melo, as I’d have the 32-year-old chronic playoff choker around 20th. But I’d still definitely take Melo over Griffin if I had to win one game today. Griffin’s only the choice if I’m looking for a player to simulate oral sex while on the bench.

Halloween is right around the corner, dude. But what are you going to do? So many people are dressing up in costumes, having fun, young and old celebrating a most radical tradition of darkness. But you don’t have to be in the dark regarding your Halloween costume.

You’re probably thinking, “Well, aren’t all the cool costumes mad expensive?” Not necessarily, bro. No one should put themselves in the poor house over some silly costume. But maybe, it’s not so silly, maybe you take Halloween extremely seriously. You totally love this time of year, but you’re no fool. Some economic realities don’t permit such frivolous recreational spending. So don’t break the bank like some other guys trying to impress anyone.

You don’t need to flaunt a $200 costume to get the attention you’ve been rightfully craving for so long. You can show your unique personalities, interests, and oddities through other means. Some costumes you can make right at home. Maybe you have some piled away clothing you’d like to put together into a funky one-night outfit. These costumes will be like less than pocket change compared to the most expensive Halloween costumes out there. Some will pay thousands for a costume, while others will purge their closets and sock drawers for hidden treasures.

So, if you’re like me and am not willing to dish out the dough for this spectacular and spooky season then here are some cheap Halloween costumes that are so amazing, it’s un-boo-lievable!

Watching children puke their brains out is best enjoyed from the comfort of your own home, away from actual vomit, and in slow motion. Thankfully, one Jared Alridge filmed a kid completely emptying his stomach on a ride at the State Fair of Texas. Not only that, he got the whole thing in slow motion and added some extremely fitting music to up the enjoyment factor by a size of 10.

More impressive than Jared’s ability to film the hilarious, though, is the puker’s ability to lose so much volume of puke in so little time. The strong stream almost never seems to end.

This video of a Great White Shark breaking into a shark cage while a person is trapped inside is probably one of the ten most pants-pooping moments I’ve seen on the web. According to the video description, these guys were diving off the coast of Guadalupe Island, feeding sharks tuna, when a Great White breached the shark cage.

When we say “breach” we don’t mean that the shark stuck his scary head in, looked around a bit, and then bounced. No, the shark got all the way into the cage and started freaking out, all while someone was trapped inside with the shark.

This is not our usual kids content and Gabe and Garrett did not go on this trip, this video is from my trip to Guadalupe Island (I’m their dad).

On a recent great white shark cage diving trip we experienced a very rare event, a shark breaching the side of the cage. What might appear to be an aggressive great white shark trying to attack the cage, this is not the case. These awesome sharks are biting at large chunks of tuna tied to a rope. When a great white shark lunges and bites something, it is temporarily blinded. They also cannot swim backwards. So this shark lunged at the bait, accidentally hit the side of the cage, was most likely confused and not able to swim backwards, it thrust forward and broke the metal rail of the cage. There was a single diver inside the cage. He ended up outside the bottom of the cage, looking down on two great white sharks. The diver is a very experienced dive instructor, remained calm, and when the shark thrashed back outside the cage, the diver calmly swam back up and climbed out completely uninjured. The boat crew did an outstanding job, lifting the top of the cage, analyzing the frenzied situation, and the shark was out after a few long seconds. Everyone on the boat returned to the cages the next day, realizing this was a very rare event. The boat owner, captain, and crew are to be commended for making what could’ve been a tragic event into a happy ending. I’m sure God and luck had a bit to do with it too!
