In a move that seems as though it’s simultaneously out of nowhere, yet has also been years in the making, Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, citing irreconcilable differences. TMZ was the first to report on the story and claims that Jolie is filing for full physical custody of their six children. As far as visitation rights, TMZ says that the court documents they’ve read state that Jolie does not wish to give Pitt visitation rights, only joint legal custody. The only upside for Pitt (not that this really matters to either of them) is that she’s not asking for spousal support.

Peter Hammer is an Elizabeth, NJ policeman who suffered a head injury when he confronted and shot the suspected bomber and terrorist Ahmad Rahami. Not just any head injury mind you, the injury he suffered was a graze wound from a bullet that came inches from killing the hero.

Officer Hammer was released from the hospital in a wheelchair late Tuesday morning, but not before he and the other officers who arrested Rahami spoke with President Barack Obama.

“They are going to be fine, they sustained some modest injuries but ones that they’ll rapidly recover from,’ Obama said. “They were in good spirits and I communicated to them of how appreciative the American people are.”

What Happened?

Hammer was one of the first officers to respond to the call about Rahami, along with fellow officers Angel Padilla and Mark Kahana. Officer Padilla was struck by a bullet in the abdomen, but he was wearing a bullet proof vest, so he probably suffered some severe bruising. Officer Hammer was ducked behind a police car when a bullet flew through the window, causing severe lacerations on his head/face.

Rahimi, on the other hand, is still in the hospital. The suspected bomber was shot a number of times and was then taken to the hospital.

Okay, so, let me get out a couple of thoughts before I continue with this story. A) Wentz has looked decent thus far. Not even looking at his stat line, and strictly watching game film, Wentz looks poised, smart, prepared, and accurate. BUT, B) people are anointing him way, way too quickly. Dude has played in TWO games and looked good and both and now all of a sudden he’s the greatest Eagles quarterback since Randall Cunningham. Eagles fans out there, let me just give you a fair warning: Mark Sanchez was the Jets’ savior for TWO WHOLE YEARS until the wheels fell off. It takes time to see what kind of player a quarterback truly is. So yeah, Wentz looks good, I’ll admit it, but keep your hopes relative because you never know what can happen. Look at RGIII. Look at Kaepernick. Again, look at The Sanchize. Sh*t happens.

Anyway, back to the Cleveland LOLs Browns, who are essentially the Webster’s dictionary definition of incompetence. Sometimes, dumping on the Cleveland Browns can be a little cliche, but if any sports franchise deserves it, it’s them. This is a franchise that hasn’t been in the playoffs since 2002 and that hasn’t WON a playoff game since 1994. This is the franchise that drafted Johnny Manziel. This is the franchise who recently believed RGIII would save them.

It’s hard to imagine how a franchise could be so haphazard until you actually read into the decisions their head honchos make. Then, it kinda all makes sense. For example, Cleveland reportedly fired six (SIX!) scouts, because they wanted to draft Carson Wentz.

According to numerous sources with knowledge of the situation, several of the more seasoned scouts and evaluators the Browns parted with prior to the draft — an unusual time to release such employees — actually preferred Wentz to quarterback Jared Goff and believed him to be the greater pro prospect. It was clear to many in the organization dating back to December, when the Browns held intense draft meetings, that the newly-empowered analytics department, soon to be spearheaded by DePodesta, strongly preferred Goff. And new coach Hue Jackson and his offensive coordinator, Pep Hamilton, were not high on Wentz but prized Goff, sources said, and made that clear to the rest of the organization.

The Browns opted to release six members of the organization — many of them experienced, old-school scouts — just three weeks before the draft. At the time, they were bailing on the quarterback market in the draft (and Wentz in particular) and shopping their second-overall pick to other teams.

Marvel’s hit television show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. finally returns tonight! Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s season four premiere episode, titled “The Ghost,” will air on September 20 at 9:00 P.M. EST on ABC. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is an American television series created for ABC by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, and Maurissa Tancharoen.

In the aftermath of their journey to another planet, Director Phil Coulson and the rest of the team were driven more than ever to put an end to the Hydra organization. Little did they know that they were up against the deadliest threat they’ve ever faced – an extremely powerful Inhuman, Hive, who was transported back from Maveth in the body of their worst enemy, Grant Ward. The team was able to thwart and kill Hive and take down Hydra, but they are all still mourning the death of fellow agent and Inhuman Lincoln Campbell.

In light of the Sokovia Accords, and with Hydra obliterated, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been legitimatized again and no longer needs to operate in the shadows. Since the world presumes that Coulson is dead, the organization needed a new Director to be the face of the organization. Coulson finds himself back in the role as an agent and teamed with Mack, and together they are tasked with tracking down and confirming the presence of Enhanced people, aka Inhumans. Agent May is tasked with training specialist strike teams, and Fitz and Simmons have taken a big step forward in their relationship.

Keith Lamont Scott, 43, was shot dead by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Tuesday. Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD said undercover cops were looking for a suspect with an outstanding warrant when they encountered Scott – who was not the suspect they sought – and claimed he was carrying a gun. The CMPD issued a statement saying officers felt Scott was a threat and that is why opened fire. However, Scott’s family has claimed he was unarmed and was merely reading a book in his car while waiting for his son. According to WCCB, the officer who shot Scott, Brentley Vinson, who is also black, has been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure in officer-involved shootings.

Following the incident on Tuesday night, police in riot gear confronted protesters and deployed tear gas to disperse the crowds. Police said 12 officers were injured during the protests, including one who was hit in the face with a rock.

Scott’s daughter, Lyric Scott, live streamed the aftermath of the shooting on Facebook, during which she says that her father was parked and reading a book in his car while waiting for a school bus to drop off his son. “My daddy didn’t do nothing. They just pulled up undercover,” said Lyric Scott. Scott’s daughter also mentioned that Scott was disabled and claimed that officers had first tasered him and then shot him four times:

I seriously think the NFL needs Marshawn Lynch now more than ever. There’s something mythical about the guy at this point. He was dominant and mysterious, and pulled a Barry Sanders by retiring when he still probably had plenty of gas left in the tank. And the more we learn about him and his personality off the field, the more we want to hear from him. He’s just an interesting dude. You see him on on Running Wild with Bear Grylls last week? Absolute gold.

Anyway, Beast Mode was on Conan last night and we learned a couple of things. First, is that Marshawn is now sponsored by some Seattle-based chocolate company. Second, is that Lynch, as always, has a surprisingly poignant point of view, this time when discussing Colin Kaepernick.

Channel 7 Gold Italian sports reporter Marika Fruscio is #blessed and unafraid to wear really low and revealing tops while on television. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) for Fruscio, one of these tops refused to stay in place while she was on live television, causing what’s known in the business as a “wardrobe malfunction.”

I went to Rutgers University and damn it, I loved it. In fact, I’m going back in about two weeks for homecoming, where I plan on fully embracing the return to college. I may even drunkenly piss my pants just for sport. I’m not sure yet though, the piss will be a game-time decision. Either way, if you’re on College Ave. that weekend, you’ll find your boy basically cross-eyed at Queens.

But even as much as I love my university, I’ll be the first to admit that the amount of bad decisions the school has made over the last couple years is absolutely unprecedented. Seriously, I’ve only been at COED for a little more than a year, and this is my SECOND article about how misguided the Rutgers decision makers are.

So what happened? This:

The reason? Because fully-grown, grey-haired adult AD Pat Hobbs took a sip of beer in front of the students. OH, THE F*CKING HUMANITY.

Hobbs was forced to give an apology, saying:

“My first concern is always for the safety and well-being of our students,” Hobbs told NJ Advance Media. “Anyone who was at the [student tailgate] Saturday knows that I was acting to ensure that.”

GUYS….. guyysssssss. It was a 21-year-old event. This guy is a brand new AD at a massive university trying to hype up his students. Only FOUR tickets were given out. To put that in perspective, I once had a buddy get two tickets in one night. Rutgers University Police chief, Kenneth Cop (YES, really his name) told NJ Advance Media that the tailgate was relatively calm on Saturday and that two citations per person were given to four people before the noon kickoff. In the world of the Big 10, that’s child’s play. And Rutgers, please try to remember, we are now in the Big 10. We have to show up at these games, and you aren’t helping.

I didn’t go to a single tailgate my final two years at Rutgers and the University is specifically to blame for that. Hopefully, they change their minds on this one ASAP.

Lee Daniels, a teacher at Massey Hill Classical High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina, wanted to teach some of his American History students a lesson about freedom of speech, specifically the case of Texas v. Johnson. As we’re sure that you remember, Texas v. Johnson was the famous Supreme Court case decision which stated that desecrating the American flag as a sign of protest was protected under the First Amendment of the Constitution.

So what did Mr. Daniels do? He grabbed an American flag, laid it out on the ground, and asked his students for a pair of scissors or a lighter. When none were offered, he instead stepped on the American flag, immediately causing two students to get up and leave. Daniels says that one of those students asked for the flag so that it could be taken to the principal and “properly taken care of.” Another student snapped this photo, which was shared on Facebook.

According to Mr. Daniels, he then asked the remaining students if they were offended. Apparently, they all said “no.”

But once the photo started getting shared online, Daniels was suspended indefinitely. He won’t be reinstated until the super-intendant completes his investigation. As for Daniels, here’s what he had to say about the situation.

Obviously, this is a pretty timely story considering the professional athletes who are kneeling during the National Anthem, protesting the violence and discrimination they feel black Americans face in regards to the police. But here’s the thing, stepping on the flag (even burning it) is protected by the United States supreme court. It’s not illegal. So how a public school teacher can be suspended for teaching his students a lesson about American History and the law is completely bonkers to me.

To his credit, Mr. Daniels even told reporters that he’s happy some of the students got up and left. It shows that they’re protesting in their own rights. But anyways, you’re going to hear a ton of stuff from the peanut gallery about this story, so just remember that it’s great if you want to protect the sanctity of the American flag and what it stands for, but it’s not illegal to burn the flag (as long as its a sign of protest).

Who the f*ck does Netflix think they are? I mean yeah, I understand they revolutionized the way we consume television, but now all of a sudden they’re clairvoyants? Nah, nah, nah, I don’t think so Netflix. You know nothing about me.

Yesterday, Netflix released data for the “episode that took watchers from casual to committed – that is, the episode that kept 70% of viewers watching through a first season’s end,” according to a press release. Their data concludes that took all of two episodes for viewers to become obsessed with Stranger Things, and three for Narcos. I can personally attest to both of these, and tell you that Netflix is wrong. I was hooked on Stranger Things after only one episode, and as for Narcos, it took at least four or five. Netflix says it takes four episodes to be hooked on Making A Murderer, which is also a steaming pile of crap, cause everyone I know was balls deep after the first episode.

Neymar‘s accomplishments have made him one of the biggest soccer stars in the world. The 24-year-old forward has played alongside the great Lionel Messi in Barcelona since 2013. Barcelona paid roughly $93 million dollars to acquire Neymar from Santos FC. So far the investment has paid off with Neymar becoming one of the top 3 scorers in Champions League.

This is great, especially when you consider his age and the total value of his remaining contract. His potential was recognized at a very young age. It also helps that his father played soccer and has been an excellent manager for him. Forbes has him listed as a Top 25 earning athlete and top 100 earning celebrity with an annual income of $37.5 million. With Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo being five and seven years older than Neymar respectively, it only makes sense for his net worth to come close that range when he gets older.

2009 – 2013

He was one of the few over 23-year-old players included in Brazil’s squad for the Olympic Games in Rio. In Brazil’s first match with Columbia, he would score the first goal and assist with the second. He scored twice in Brazil’s match with Honduras. Brazil won 6-0. Brazil would beat Germany in the finals 5-4 on penalties. Neymar scored the winning penalty kick. Some former Brazilian players were not a fan of his conduct on the field. Neymar would abdicate his captaincy after the Olympics.

After experiencing so much success internationally, it makes sense for Neymar to eventually become one of the sport’s top earners of all time. His current contract will put him well over the $100 million mark. He will likely be re-signed for a much larger contract due to Messi not having a lot of time left in his career. And the endorsements often dwarf what an athlete actually makes from playing.

This kidnapping story from Natalia Taylor, a Miss COED 2016, is the craziest story we’ve heard in a long time. And apparently. we’re not the only ones because her video is going viral in a serious way. Those of you who remember Natalia know that she’s a model who also has a YouTube video series on which she discusses various topics (including modeling), but recently she told an extremely personal and harrowing story about what happened to her and her father.

At the age of seven, Natalia was kidnapped by her father, Rod, who had gone insane. Her parents had gotten divorced and somewhere along the way Rod had lost it and started to believe that he was Jesus Christ. One day, while Natalia was at her aunt and uncle’s house, Rod came by, acted aggressively towards her aunt, and kidnapped Natalia. The police got involved and an Amber Alert was issued. From the Daily Mail:

After hours in her father’s beat up red truck, they arrived at a church where, Natalia says, Rod began talking about his delusional beliefs.

‘He truly believed he was Jesus Christ and it’s a really terrifying thing to think that someone really thinks that they’re invincible,’ she says. ‘Like he had power over everyone in the world.’

He then told her that they were going to have ‘the best day’ of her entire life: they were going to Cedar Point amusement park. The young Natalia, confused by the situation she was in, simply thought this was a surprise for her birthday, which was just two days away.

Honestly, the whole story is absolutely insane and thankfully it all worked out after, serendipitously, her father ran a red light in front of a policeman who called it in. Backup arrived and Rod was tased and arrested.

St. Martin Middle School is experiencing its second bomb scare in less than 24 hours at St. Martin Middle School. Th school is on lockdown and a  bomb dog is on the way. Student and faculty at St. Martin Middle School were evacuated due to a threatening note found at the school. The school was also evacuated yesterday for a bomb threat.

According to the Sun Herald:

Capt. Chris Stratton said the sheriff’s department got the call of a possible bomb threat from the school about 11 a.m. He said a note with a threatening message was found somewhere in the school.

“We’re on lockdown. There was a note that had mentioned a potential threat so we’re waiting for the sheriff’s department to check it out,” Amacker said.

An official from St. Martin Middle School confirmed students and faculty were evacuated after a note mentioning a possible bomb threat was found in a restroom on Tuesday. The school was evacuated after a bomb dog was brought in, which is exactly what is being done today.

Stratton said the department would review school surveillance video for leads in the case. However, he would not comment on what they have found s0 far.

Think of all of the different types of alcohol you’ve consumed in your life, and think about which have given you the worst hangover. Me? Gin. F*ck gin. Anybody who reps gin as their drink cannot be trusted. As for the rest of you, I’m sure either whiskey or tequila came to mind. Probably, especially tequila. Well, shockingly, apparently tequila is actually the best alcohol to drink if you want to avoid a hangover. I know, WTF, right? Tequila is responsible for some of the worst hangovers of my life, so I’m definitely skeptical.

According to New York Magazine, blanco tequila, made from 100% pure agave, doesn’t give you a hangover the next day.

Bar guru Jason Eisner, director at Hollywood’s trendy vegan bar-restaurant Gracias Madre, explained that the drink keeps you feeling fresh in the morning.

He told The Cut: “We have a lot of trainers and fitness gurus who come in and drink every day. As long as you stay hydrated and don’t drink, like, a whole bottle, you’re fine. Not hungover.”

The blanco factor is key. Eisner adds:

“José Cuervo — what most Americans think of as tequila — is 42 percent corn syrup, which gives you a horrible hangover. We have a lot of trainers and fitness gurus who come in and drink every day — and the way they’re able to do that is to stick to pure agave spirits. As long as you stay hydrated and don’t drink, like, a whole bottle, you’re fine. Not hungover.”

That’s a bold claim by Eisner. Looks like I’ll have to test this theory out this weekend. I’ll let y’all know how it goes.

Sure, I mean, it could be hyperbolic. After all, this is rap music that we’re talking about here, and anyone with half a brain stem should know that not everything said in a rap song is true.

The Game had a chance to set the record straight on The Wendy Williams Show, and that’s exactly what he did. The Game is a lot of things, and one of them is straight up (8:25 mark):

On Kim Kardashian: “I’ll tell you this, Kanye is a really good friend of mine and they got really beautiful kids and I don’t want to disrespect their family.”

On Khloe Kardashian: “Ah… sometimes it gets late at night and ya know, it just… people… I don’t know.”

And the third? Black f*cking Chyna. And The Game didn’t even try and play coy with that one:

On Blac Chyna: “Chyna ain’t married yet, but it’s all good, if it’s facts.”

This is going to be Josh Gordon’s last season in the NFL. I’m calling it. Dude has all the talent in the world, but at some point, even the hapless Cleveland Browns are going to have enough of his sh*t. In all honesty, Gordon is probably a decent dude. But also, in all honesty, he’s a blatant idiot. The only surprising part of this story is that is surprising is that Gordon’s warrant is in fact NOT drug related. Nope, this time it’s a paternity case. I can imagine Gordon, being stoned, saying something along the lines of: “That kid don’t look like me. I ain’t paying shit.”

The arrest warrant, signed by a judge on August 31, was issued after Gordon failed to respond to “several months worth of subpoenas” in a paternity case. Via Cleveland.com:

The case stems from a complaint made in juvenile court from Christina Lockhart of Maple Heights, who says Gordon is the father of her now 1-year-old daughter.

Lockhart filed the complaint July 2, 2015, saying no one else is presumed to be the father, other than Gordon.

Lockhart is on public welfare and is seeking child support from Gordon, according to the complaint filed by Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Kira Kittoe Krivosh.

According to the report, Gordon was ordered to give a DNA sample in the case before September 25, 2016, but never responded.

Multiple subpoenas were sent to Gordon in multiple states (California and Ohio) and at multiple addresses in Cleveland.
