WATCH: Dumb Mets Fan Turns Double Into Home Run, Immediately Regrets Decision

Mets Bartman

Last night during the ninth inning, the NY Mets were up big against the LA Dodgers. The Metropolitans were just one inning away from their first playoff win at Citi Field and then this happens:

Steve Bartman 2.0 comes out of nowhere and reaches over the fence, giving the Dodgers’ Howie Kendrick a three-run Home Run with zero outs left.

If you want to know the face of Mets fans everywhere, look no further than this man right here.

Astonished. Angry. Murderous. In fact, if Bartman 2.0 didn’t look like such a dweeb I think that the old man there would have killed him on the spot.

But seriously, what was Bartman 2.0 thinking? That’s a Dodger HR, you’re a Mets fan. You can’t keep the ball, you’ve gotta throw it back. And yes, I know, this kid probably feels so embarrassed that he won’t be attending any more of the games his parents bought him season tickets to, but still. This is the Playoffs. You can’t leave anything to chance.

Luke Gatti Apology Video

Luke Gatti needs no introduction. Everyone saw the infamous jalapeno bacon macaroni and cheese meltdown at UConn and now the expelled student has taken to YouTube to apologize.

It’s a classic PR move, create your own content to get ahead of the story while simultaneously removing the video from YouTube… which is exactly what this is. Kind of wondering how much that consultation cost the parents, who we feel awful for.

Democratic Debate How To Watch
The first Democratic debate is tonight at 8:30 p.m. Eastern time on CNN.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, former Virginia Senator Jim Webb, and former Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee are scheduled to take the stage tonight in the Wynn Las Vegas casino hotel to discuss why they should be the next president of the United States.

Theoretically, Vice President Joe Biden could also show up at the debate if he decides to run at any time during the day. Hillary Clinton currently leads in the polls and has won the overwhelming majority of endorsements from prominent Democrats, however her use of a personal email account for government business while secretary of state leaves various voters on the fence. Sanders, who’s a self-prescribed “democratic socialist,” is also gaining some steam.

O’Malley, Webb, and Chafee have led less than successful campaigns so far, and are presumably hoping to make an impact during tonight’s event.

Unlike the GOP debate – which boasted 17 hopefuls during its first debate – there are only five democratic candidates currently in the running.

Emilia Clarke, star of Game of Thrones, was named Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire Magazine this year. Not that many of you would disagree with this decision, but we know of a few dragons who’d have some choice words if anyone spoke up. [lead image via Esquire Magazine]

Emilia Clarke: 22 Hottest Photos On The Internet

Like many of you, we’re hoping that Game of Thrones never ends, but the truth is that Emilia is set for life after she moves on from the show. She’s already starred in Terminator: Genisys, a massive Hollywood summer blockbuster, and will be appearing in Voice From Stone, a “Hitchcock fairy tale” set in 1950’s Tuscany.

Esquire’s announcement comes just one year after GQ named Emilia Clarke their 2015 “Woman of the Year,” so clearly the English actor is doing something right.

Penn State University Restaurants

One of the many awesome things about Penn State University is the fact that you’re in one of the greatest college towns in the entire country. The town is literally called State College, PA. It’s packed with tons of shops, bars, businesses, and most importantly bomb restaurants that can satisfy your hunger any time of day.

But not all of the restaurants are the same. Some are (much) better than the others. So if you’re ever visiting PSU for a game or a weekend, make sure you check out at least one of these five awesome establishments.

The Waffle Shop Penn State

#1: The Waffle Shop

The Waffle Shop serves hearty breakfasts and soul satisfying meals. The Waffle Shop has literally endless amounts of bacon and eggs and the most chocolate in any waffle I’ve ever seen in my 19 years of life. You’ll walk out of there never wanting to eat again.

Gumbys Pokey Sticks Penn State

#2: Gumby’s

Next is Gumby’s, they serve the infamous pokey sticks. Pokey sticks are like pizza but not as much sauce, more than a normal amount of cheese, and instead of being cut in pizza shape they’re like sticks. You can order marinara sauce, ranch, and most importantly, garlic butter (so basically fat in a cup) to dip them in. They are heaven on earth, especially at 2AM.

Underground Burgers Crepes

#3: Underground Burgers and Crepes

The third go-to late night drunk food is Underground Burgers and Crepes. The name says it all. What place sells burgers and crepes? You can put any topping on either, and the alcohol will probably make you through it up two hours later.

DP Dough

#4: DP Dough

DP Dough is on the edge of what Penn State calls “frat land” so everybody always goes there. DP Dough serves the most rad calzones you’ve ever had from mac and cheese to steak fajita calzones. Only thing that would make this place better is if they served alcohol.

Mad Mex Penn State

#5: Mad Mex

The last and final place a visitor to PSU must go to is the bar Mad Mex. They serve the best burgers and chicken with cranberry apple margaritas, while bringing you a huge bowl of salsa and guacamole to devour your drunk sorrows in, and it works.

Best Cities to Move Stats
We have a message for all of your post-grads out there – we feel for you.

The year after college graduation is a tough one. First, there’s the insane depression of the summer ending and the withdraw of packing your shit up and moving back into school. Then there’s the whole bills thing, which we won’t even discuss because it’s horrifying. The Weather Channel has hit a new low with the announcement of their 2016 winter storm names.

The company has taken a break from scaring the shit out of you on a daily basis to announce that parts of the country should be prepared of upcoming winter storms Yolo and Goliath.

Ummm….. Yolo? Really?!

According to the Washington Post,

The names were selected again with help from Bozeman High School’s Latin Club in Bozeman, Mont. The list was tweaked by senior meteorologist Bryan Norcross, who said he combed through the suggestions to make sure they’re short, pronounceable and work well as a hashtag, since social media is the “driving force behind the naming.”

Names will only apply to “storms that threaten populations of 2 million or greater, or an area of 400,000 square kilometers.”

But like, who’s going to be threatened by something names Cara?

Check out the full list of names below.

Games of The Week Reviewed

A trio of old franchises make their first current-gen leaps today. The oddest, and least likely among them is Chibi Robo, Nintendo’s long-forgotten robotic butler. Now more aggressive than in his 2006 GameCube incarnation, he’s using his power cord to whip enemies into shape.

Also back are the ragtag, smart-alecky Disgaea crew, who are out to rid the universe of evil in the PS4 incarnation, DIsgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance. Also, one of the most ancient of RPGs, Dragon Quest, is back as an open-world brawler in the form of DragonQuest Heroes. We also take a look at Samsung’s latest attempt at an iPad killer, the Galaxy Tab S2.

Chibi Robo! Zip Lash

Chibi Robo! Zip Lash

(3DS, $30, Everyone)

Last seen in 2006 on the GameCube, house-cleaning robot Chibi Robo is back in a DS platformer. You guide the stiff, tank-like robot through puzzle-laden platforming levels, whipping enemies with your power cord and exploring remote corners to unlock hidden items. The environments subtly mock the trappings of consumer culture, with a charming Japanese bent. The peppier setting of the sequel — especially the satisfying attacks — makes up for the slower-paced, chore-oriented mission structure of the nearly-forgotten original, jolting some new life into a franchise long thought dead.

As Nintendo mascots go, Chibi is a bit on the stale side, lacking the cartoon-style appeal of Mario or Yoshi, or even the distant mystery of Link or Samus. The level design makes up for the dud character with rewarding progression, clever, brain-bending dynamics and speedy pacing. In addition to the regular $30 version, there’s also a $40 version of the game that comes bundled with a Chibi Robo Amiibo character that powers up your character and allows you to unlock in-game collectibles. The interactivity is exciting at first, but seems superfluous after you get your bearings. Feel free to stick with the regular version unless you really want the action figure.

disgaea-5-alliance-of-vengeance-coming-to-north-am_2tjs.1920

Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance

(PS4, $60, Teen)

The smarmy, satiricalJRPG saga makes its PlayStation 4 debut, upping the sophistication of its visuals and depth while staying true to its rough-hewn anime roots. You help its band of roguish demon-heroes take on the Dark Void overlord, who seeks to enslave the cosmos. You lead the patched-together, Star Wars-style band of rebels to overthrow the evil hegemony and restore hope to the populace. Battles unfurl in dramatic fashion, intercut with dialogue that helps keep the story flowing into the action.

The writing, which is peppered with pop culture references, bizarre non sequiturs and rapidfire banter, stands out just as much as the action does. The customization system is rich and fluid, letting you infuse your personality and playstyle into the fabric of your party. You can fuse characters of various classes together, unlocking special abilities that help you take down powerful enemoies. Expect to sink dozens of hours into the game, which has you hop across the Nethworlds and take part in massive battles, which can include 100 characters.

DragonQuest Heroes

DragonQuest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below

(PS4, $60, Teen)

The most traditional of RPGs takes a hard right turn into the free-for-all, screen-drowning melees in the vein of Dynasty Warriors and Hyrule Warriors. You choose your character and take to a sprawling battlefield filled with dozens of minions and the occasional lumbering boss. It’s a refreshing break from the routine of deliberate, turn-based battles that the series is known for. Getting to plunge your sword into an obnoxious Slime character is more rewarding than button-tapping your way through a humdrum attack menu. It’s liberating to run around the landscape at will, cutting enemies down with your sword swipes and burning them alive with magical attacks.

There are plenty of ways to customize your characters’ items, attacks and defenses, tinkering with the setup and upgrades until you have the ideal build. The Square Enix touch is tangible in character design and diversity. Usually in games of this ilk, you mow down hordes of clone-style enemies that blend into one another, looking and acting the same. In this game, you face varied teams of beasts that provide unique challenges depending on what groupings you face and where you take them on. Instead of mindlessly mashing your way through the crowds, you need to think on your feet, changing up your plan of attack as you go. For better and for worse, the game is stocked with microtransactions. There is a ridiculous amount of pay-to-play add-ons that make it seem like much was held back from the official release in order to score extra money.

Samsung Tab S2

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7

($500)

Samsung seems to be done trying to distinguish its tablet from the iPad, and obsessed with matching it feature for feature. In order to seem more like Apple’s tablet, the screen aspect ratio has switched to 4×3. The more box-like screen makes it slightly more awkward to use to watch movies and TV, and slightly more adaptable to touch gaming, as well as reading e-books and browsing social media. The screen is also in a slightly lower resolution than the previous Galaxy Tab, which is hardly noticeable — because it’s offset by a richer Super AMOLED color palette — and has a smaller battery, which runs out of juice after about eight hours of heavy use. Its guts are more powerful than ever. It packs 3GB of ram, which helps it run some of the most demanding apps. It’s got a leg up on the iPad as far as storage, thanks to an SD card slot that lets you expand the memory from the starting 32GB all the way to 128GB.

As a gaming tablet, it matches its Apple rival step for step, failing short only due to Google Play’s failure to draw ports of some of the best games on iTunes. Of course, Android tablets are quite a bit more hackable than iPads, making it easier to open the device up to emulators and drastically expanding the amount of software that you can play on them. The impressively thin, light form factor makes marathon gaming sessions easy on your forearms, and the touchscreen is as responsive as it is pretty. A fingerprint reader gives you the same amount of security you have on your phone, and the tablet is durable enough to survive a few ill-time faceplants onto hard sufaces. The Tab S2 isn’t a wholesale improvement over its predecessor, but has enough tweaks to make it a more viable alternative to iPad obsessives looking for a lower-priced alternative. The S2 may well be the best Android mimicry of the market leader.

Northern Arizona Shooter Was Fraternity Pledge, Victim Was In Other Fraternity

Steven Jones Fraternity

We learned this morning that Steven Jones, the Northern Arizona University student arrested for the shooting and death of Colin Brough and injury of three others, was a Sigma Chi fraternity pledge while his victims were all Delta Chi fraternity brothers.

Delta Chi Shooting: Northern Arizona University Attack

It should be noted that while there is no evidence that officially shows the initial confrontation which caused the shooting was because of a fraternity rivalry, I think anyone who’s ever been in college knows what can happen late night between aggressive, possibly-intoxicated males.

Coconino County Deputy Attorney Ammon Barker stated the incident began as a confrontation between fraternity members, first verbal and then physical. It started on one side of the street and traveled across the road.

“The defendant then ran to his car, retrieved his gun and then went back to the fight,” Barker said in court last week.
