Nick Chubb of the Georgia Bulldogs just had the worst day any player will have in today’s NCAA games–as the running back suffered a horrific knee injury during his first run against the Tennessee Vols. The injury to Chubb’s left knee was so bad that CBS Sports decided not to endlessly replay it. That’s a pretty horrific notion in itself.

For those who actually saw it, though, it seemed pretty baffling when Verne Lundquist decided to confirm that Chubb wouldn’t be returning to the field against Tennessee. Yeah, we kinda got that impression. This is a really bad development for the Bulldogs, though. Chubb was really standing out this season, having already started with an average of 149.0 yards per game. That made his third-ranked nationally, and he was enjoying a streak of 13 straight games of 100-yard performances. A lousy day for NCAA fans, in general…

Final: Florida State 29, Miami 24

The Hurricanes’ last ditch effort falls short near midfield and the Seminoles escape with a win to improve to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in the ACC while Miami falls to 3-2 and 0-1 in the conference. Brad Kaaya finishes with 405 yards passing for Miami in a losing effort while Dalvin Cook rushes for 222 yards on 22 carries for Florida State.

4th Quarter- 2:45 left: Florida State can’t put the game away and Kaaya and Miami will have a chance for one final drive.

4th Quarter- 5:16 left: Miami was forced to punt and gives the ball back to Florida State with a chance to ice the game late.

4th Quarter- Florida State 29, Miami 24: Cook goes off again, this time on a 23-yard touchdown run as he passes the 200-yard rushing mark for the game at 206 yards on 19 carries. It is his third touchdown as well and with 6:44 to play, the Seminoles take the lead yet again.

4th Quarter- 7:50 left: Golson and the Seminoles have crossed midfield looking to get the lead back late in this Sunshine State battle.

4th Quarter- Miami 24, Florida State 23: A perfect pass from Kaaya to Stacy Coley results in a 29-yard touchdown and the 12th-ranked Seminoles are trailing at home with 10:02 left in the game. Kaaya is up to 368 yards passing while going 25-of-39.

4th Quarter- Florida State 23, Miami 17: The Hurricanes defense holds and Seminoles have to settle for a 25-yard Aguayo field goal to keep Miami within a touchdown of taking the lead.

End of 3rd Quarter: Florida State has 419 yards of total offense while Miami has piled up 310 through the first three quarters of play. A game that didn’t appear to look close on paper will come down to the final 15 minutes.

3rd Quarter- 3:18 left: Miami has the ball with a chance to take the lead. A big difference from how this game looked in the first half.

3rd Quarter- Florida State 20, Miami 17: A 17-play drive that eats up more than six minutes on the clock results in the Hurricanes getting a one-yard touchdown pass from Kaaya to Joseph Yearby. Kaaya is now 19-for-31 for 250 yards for the game with this last drive.

Halftime: Florida State 20, Miami 10

Aguayo hits the upright on a 49-yard field goal attempt to end the half to keep it a ten-point game. Florida State has 358 yards of offense while Miami has just 178 yards. Golson is 14-for-19 for 191 yards while Kaaya is 12-for-20 for 176 yards.

2nd Quarter- Florida State 20, Miami 10: Aguayo drills a 32-yard field goal to extend the Seminoles’ lead back to double digits as the first half winds down. Cook has returned and has 137 rushing yards on just nine carries.

2nd Quarter- 6:58 left: Florida State goes on a 4th-and-1 from the Miami 10 and gets stuffed with Cook still on the bench. Hurricanes take over with a chance to tie the game before halftime.

2nd Quarter- 8:30 left: Dalvin Cook has left the game with an apparent hamstring injury after dominating the early going for Florida State.

2nd Quarter- Florida State 17, Miami 10: Rashawn Scott breaks tackles, avoids the Florida State defense and scores on a 58-yard reception from Kaaya and suddenly the Hurricanes are right back in the game.

2nd Quarter- Florida State 17, Miami 3: Roberto Aguayo makes a 22-yard field goal and the Seminoles get back the earlier field goal by the Hurricanes and haven’t been stopped yet.

End of 1st Quarter– Florida State has 214 yards of offense already through 15 minutes and are on the doorstep of scoring their third touchdown of the game already. Cook has five carries for 76 yards and a touchdown for the Seminoles. Kaaya is 6-for-12 for 90 yards for the Hurricanes.

1st Quarter- Florida State 14, Miami 3: Cook goes into the end zone for a second time, this time on a 36-yard touchdown reception from Everett Golson. It appears it is going to be very hard to stop Cook no matter how he gets the ball in this one.

1st Quarter- Florida State 7, Miami 3: Michael Badgley makes a 30-yard field goal to cut into the Seminoles’ lead. A very productive drive from Kaaya and the Hurricanes that goes 11 plays and takes up 4:35 on the clock.

1st Quarter- 8:32 left: Trey Marshall is ejected from the game for Florida State on a targeting call hitting Miami quarterback Brad Kaaya.

1st Quarter- Florida State 7, Miami 0: Dalvin Cook goes off for 72 yards and a long touchdown and the Seminoles are off and running with 11:30 to play in the opening quarter of play as Florida State catches Miami off guard.

Pregame

A battle of two of Florida’s best as Florida State hosts Miami on a Saturday night in Tallahassee. Everett Golson and the Seminoles look to remain undefeated for the season while the Hurricanes are looking to knock off one of the biggest rivals on the road. Miami hasn’t played since October 1 as well and should be well-rested coming into this one. Florida State has squeaked by during their last two games.

Amy Schumer hosted Saturday Night Live last night, and it looks to be another season of “highlight” being a relative term. It seems the most buzz-worthy sketch is a tired adult-film parody with Amy Schumer tossing out all of the same double entendres you’d find in an actual X-rated clip. We don’t think the SNL writers should actually remind people that they can’t write any better gags than the geniuses working in the adult industry.

But there’s added humor, so to speak, when an oblivious fellow student and her equally uncomprehending mother joins the action. Actually, it doesn’t make any sense, but it helps pad the whole thing out and gets the staff closer to the afterparty. Also, congrats to Kyle Moody for nailing a pretty good look for your average 30-year-old student in an adult film. It all played out like this…

Also, here’s Amy’s opening monologue. We don’t think it’s up there with, say, last year’s Chris Rock monologue as a wild and irreverent start to the show. Kardashians aren’t exactly a daring target. Still, some people seem to enjoy Schumer’s standup…

UT’s Vols had a pretty amazing win over the Georgia Bulldogs yesterday, and not every tackle in the 38-31 game went as badly as the one that took out Georgia running back Nick Chubbs. In fact, the game’s best tackle came after the game, as fans stormed the field. One security guard at Neyland Stadium wasn’t going to have any of that, and he quickly showed off some tackling skills that probably had him drafted later that day.

But it’s really been exciting watching Christian get some permanent cult status as badass beauty Rosita Espinosa  on The Walking Dead. Her character has done a lot to prove that gals can still kill zombies while showing off lots of precious flesh. A Montclair State student is left in critical condition after what authorities believe to be a hit and run.

Anna Anna Semioli, 22, was brought into a nearby hospital just after midnight on Friday. Her body was found by the side of the road, but no one witnessed a vehicle hit.

Police say that Semioli’s injuries are consistent with a hit and run, but her sister Gina doesn’t sound convinced.

According to her younger sister, Semioli called her late Thursday night right before the incident telling her that she was on her way to visit some friends. However, out of the friends who visited her in the hospital, none of them had heard from the 22-year-old student before or after the accident.

Semioli’s family and Eastern Outdoor Furnishings in Totowa have posted $5,000 each in reward money for information leading to the driver’s arrest.

Anyone with information that could help find that person is asked to call the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office: (862) 849-6019.

USC Football head coach Steve Sarkisian has reportedly stepped aside from his duties and will head to a substance abuse program to address his addiction to alcohol. Offensive coordinator Clay Helton will take over as interim coach of the team, the school said. [Photo by Stephen Dunn/Getty Images]

According to reports, Steve showed up to Sunday’s practice less-than-sober. A student texted ESPN and told them that Steve “showed up lit to meetings again today.” Stories are even breaking that Steve was drunk during this week’s Arizona State University game.

Steve has a storied history of alleged alcohol abuse, but easily the most notable moment involved a drunken speech at the Salute of Troy booster rally earlier this year.

All hell broke loose earlier this summer when the public learned about Walter Palmer, a Minnesota dentist vacationing in Zimbabwe who killed a beloved lion named Cecil during a hunt.

After months of complaints and total outrage, Palmer’s fate has finally been decided: he will not be charged with any crime because he technically didn’t do anything illegal.

According to government officials, Palmer had all of his papers in order when it came to hunting in the country. Two men involved in the expedition, however, are in danger of doing time behind bars.

Theo Bronkhorst faces charges that he broke hunting rules, while a game park owner is charged with failing to prevent an illegal hunt on his grounds. Both deny they took any part in illegal activity.

Despite the constant insults, Palmer maintains his innocence. “If I had known this lion had a name and was important to the country or a study, obviously I wouldn’t have taken it,” he said in an interview in September. “Nobody in our hunting party knew before or after the name of this lion.”

After all of those protests, I’m surprised he isn’t getting any punishment at all. Is he in the wrong? Or did the government do the right thing?

By now, you’ve probably heard of Texas’ Campus Carry Act which says “license holders may carry a concealed handgun throughout university campuses, starting Aug. 1, 2016.” A lot of students and teachers are understandably upset at the new legislation, but the University of Texas-Austin students have come up with an interesting protest.

They’re calling their protest #CocksNotGlocks and plan on openly carrying dildos and sex toys, rather than guns. You can read the “Campus (DILDO) Carry” Facebook Event page here. The protest is set to take place next year, when Campus Carrying actually becomes legal.

The idea, while absolutely crazy, is that according to Texas law a student would be given a citation for carrying around a dildo, but not for carrying around a handgun due to laws that prohibit freedom of sexual expression. It also plays on the idea that #CocksNotGlocks supporters mimic the aggression and hostility some open carry supporters show when they feel their “rights” are challenged.

“You’re carrying a gun to class?” wrote group founder Jessica Jin on Facebook. “Yeah well I’m carrying a HUGE DILDO. Just about as effective at protecting us from sociopathic shooters, but much safer for recreational play.”

Anyway, trailing by 6 with just under a minute left, Rutgers had a chance to wipe away all the misgivings of the last couple of weeks and walk away with arguably the biggest victory in school history. As Michigan State was ranked #4, they would have been the first top 5 team Rutgers has ever beaten. With the ball at midfield, Rutgers would have a shot at a game tying touchdown. But then, Rutgers remembered we are Rutgers, and this happened:

They SPIKED THE BALL ON 4TH DOWN. I’m a Jets and Mets fan, so it’s safe to say I’ve seen my fair share of boneheaded plays, but this one takes the cake, bar none.

Sure, the odds of Rutgers coming down with a 50 yard Hail Mary to win the game weren’t too great, but it’s better than spiking the ball!!! There are so many curse words I want to yell type right now. Specifically, Ruck Futgers.

They’re calling it the Rex Effect. That somehow, the arrival of new head coach Rex Ryan has energized the once dormant Buffalo Bills fan base into what are now known as the Bills Mafia.

As a New York Jets fan, I can tell you that the “Rex Effect” is totally palpable, without question. But that doesn’t necessarily explain what the hell has been going on up in upstate New York this year. Is it something Buffalo’s water? Or maybe they’ve always been like this and no one has cared to notice since it’s Buffalo.

This weekend, FSU defeated Miami on the field but there were a couple of Miami Hurricanes who left Tally with a victory. We’re referring, of course, to the two Miami students who absolutely hammered at least 7 FSU kids during a fight at the SigEp tailgate.

Unfortunately no one recorded the beat down in one full video, but we do have two different clips (in chronological order) here:

Obviously the star of the show is the Miami dude who bobbing, ducking, weaving, and crossing his way to the finish line but after awhile he finally fought too many people. In the second video you can see him get tackled. But hey, that’s what happens when you try and take on an entire school.
