Liam Neeson stars in Taken 3, which opens this weekend and is turning this entire week into some kind of weird living meme. People are going to miss this kind of thing if Taken 3 really does wrap up a trilogy. Of course, Liam can’t be running around on every talk show and goofing on his Taken tough-guy persona. Former Miami Dolphins fullback Rob Konrad is simply amazing. The Coast Guard said on Thursday that Konrad survived a boating accident in the Atlantic Ocean by swimming nine miles to shore after falling off his boat while fishing. He was in the water for 10 to 12 hours. Konrad declined to talk to media members about it after he was released from the hospital. [lead image via Getty Sports / Ezra Shaw]
Simply put, Konrad should be very happy to be alive. It’s not exactly the safest place in the world to be swimming at in the Atlantic Ocean and the fact that no sharks or anything got after him in the process is unbelievable. Konrad contacted the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office at 4:40 in the morning on Thursday meaning that he had to swim completely overnight in the dark mostly to get to shore.
There may not be any more interesting stories this entire calendar year than this one with Konrad. He may have played in 82 games for the Dolphins from 1999-2004 but this could easily be his most outstanding athletic achievement to swim that far in the middle of winter to get himself safely back to shore.
Last night the a team wearing the New York Knicks jerseys played the Houston Rockets at Madison Square Garden and it was a blowout. But the loss wasn’t the worst part about the game–it was the fact that now fans sitting in the front row are wearing paper bags on their heads.
This is a move reserved for the Cleveland Browns, the Detroit Lions, the Mets, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Bums. This is a move that fans pull when their teams are bums. So in that respect, I guess this should have happened a little earlier.
The Knicks are a disgrace, but the only thing that we can do is be patient.
Can we just talk for a moment about how happy Reggie Miller must have been to be an announcer at this game? The sweet taste of victory as he’s present for the Knicks at their lowest point ever.
Also, this is not a good speech. This excites no one.
This morning we came across a 100% NSFW video of a bro getting a beej from a lady. No big deal–it’s the internet porn is everywhere–but the big kicker here is that while he’s getting domed up, he asks the woman “What’s the best fraternity at MSU? Tell me. Tell me.” She then (in the weirdest, raspiest voice ever) says “PIKE.”

A lot of people incorrectly believe that the concept of booth babes at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) died in 2013, but these hot photos from CES 2015 tell the truth.
Back in 2013, some third-party Apple product company brought along a couple of naked (but bodypainted) ladies to draw attention to their booth. People were not happy about the stunt and a lot of formal complaints were submitted.

Foxcatcher is named after the athletic training compound run by billionaire oil scion John du Pont in a harrowing fact-based saga of one rich nutball’s Olympic wrestling obsession gone homicidally off the mat. Mark Ruffalo plays veteran grappler Dave Schultz whose younger brother, Channing Tatum as 1988 Olympic hopeful Mark Schultz, falls in with the deranged du Pont. Nobody walks away with gold by the end—except the audience that’s pummeled by the power of this tragic tale expertly told.

Many films claim to be “years in the making,” but no movie has ever adhered to that notion like writer-director Richard Linklatter’s Boyhood. Shot over the course of a dozen actual years with the same actors, Boyhood chronicles the literal coming-of-age of actor Ellar Coltrane in the role of Mason Evans, a Texas kid who goes through all the normal ups-and-downs we experience between ages six and eighteen—only he does it on camera.

Jake Gyllenhaal coats the screen in electrifying sleaze as a two-bit thief turned guerilla journalist in the modern film noir Nightcrawler. He plays Lou Bloom, a denizen of L.A.’s scary, scummy underbelly who believes he finds a way out when he starts filming violent accident and crimes scenes, and then peddling the footage to news outlets. Nightcrawler starts at the bottom and then, mesmerizingly, only spirals downward.

Everybody’s favorite Sherlock Holmes and Smaug the dragon (and, okay, second favorite Khan from Star Trek), Benedict Cumberbatch comes on like an anti-Panzer tank bomb blast in The Imitation Game. It’s a heady, true-life World War II thriller with Cumberbatch as British math and science genius Alan Turing, the visionary who cracked the Nazi’s otherwise impenetrable Enigma code and profoundly launched the Allies on the warpath to victory. That part of the story is happy. What happened to Turing after that is not.
No one believes that the Buckeyes can win the College Football National Championship more than the Ohio State University cheerleaders. These are the ladies who’ve been on the sidelines of every game, getting the crowd pumped, and stunting/screaming at the top of their lungs all season. They’re certainly not going to stop during the biggest game in college football history.
Earlier we posted the Oregon cheerleaders’ Instagram photos, thinking that the Ducks had a monopoly on hot. After going through the Ohio State University cheerleaders’ accounts we’ll admit that we were wrong. It’s hard to top OSU’s spirit squad that boasts an awesome set of twins…

The 2015 Ohio State University Buckeye Cheerleaders are off to a great year, and we’ve got all the photos you should see.
Not only did OSU’s football team win the Big 10 Conference, the Buckeyes have an opportunity to win the first ever College Football National Championship. Additionally, their basketball team is quickly rising through the ranks.
You have to think that these great cheerleaders are a big part of that success.
Tension is high between Oregon and OSU fans as the two teams gear up for the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship game. So Jimmy Kimmel decided to do what Jimmy Kimmel does and orchestrated a college student scavenger hunt Thursday night on JKL. Oregon’s Allyson Schwab and OSU’s Tate Moore battled it out for a pair of tickets to the big game. Hopefully Monday night’s result won’t be so close a finish.
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue is hosting their very own two-day festival called The Swimville Fan Festival in Nashville, TN on February 11th-12th to help celebrate the release of newest edition of SI Swimsuit. The Kings of Leon will headline the event
The Swimville Fan Festival will feature free concerts of emerging artists and activities, but the Kings of Leon concert will require people to buy tickets. Having the Kings of Leon play the show makes sense because not only are they awesome, a member of the band is married to SI model Lily Aldridge. It’s a safe bet to assume that other sexy Sports Illustrated Issue models will be in attendance as well.

Many prefer to drink darker stouts and porters during the winter and colder months, but I’m more excited to drink the IPAs that release in January and early February. Typically the early months of the year mark the first chance hop heads like me can drink their favorite IPAs and Imperial IPAs. This week’s beer review and the craft beer I’m enjoying is a new IPA to hit the market from one of my favorite breweries. This weekend, Stone Brewing’s Stone Delicious IPA is What’s on Tap!
Those who know the very basics about beer know one of the key ingredients is barley (or malted grain) and barley contains a protein compound called gluten. This means those affected by celiac disease (people who cannot eat / digest gluten) cannot enjoy delicious beer; currently there are only a few gluten free beers on the market. As a brewery that is always looking to push the boundaries, Stone Delicious IPA is Stone’s first foray into brewing beer with reduced gluten. And yes, when I read that on the bottle my immediate thought was, “really? I hope this brew does not taste like the beer equivalent of tofu.”
Much to my pleasant surprise, Stone Delicious IPA, was full of IPA goodness. At the onset Stone Delicious IPA gave off an awesome hoppy aroma that was highlighted with huge citrus notes. Stone Delicious IPA taste was similar to the smell, a strong mixture of hops and citrus (lemon and lime) at the onset. Do not let the lack of gluten influence the idea there is no malt quality to this beer; there is but albeit it is very subtle. On the backend there is a mouth-puckering bitterness that really punctuates each sip.
I was really pleasantly surprised by this brew and regardless if there is a lack of gluten or not Stone Delicious IPA is what the name says – delicious. This weekend I am pairing Stone’s latest brew with some spicy Indian dish, shrimp vindaloo. The dish is super spicy but the beer’s large hoppy and citrus presence should cut the spiciness and the two should pair well together.

Let’s be honest, we all have certain habits or routines when we go out to a bar or lounge right? Some are okay but others need to be left in the past and buried six feet deep. Now that we have entered 2015, its time we change our ways a bit, trust me these 10 new habits will make your life easier both at the bar and at home.
Stingy Tipping- As bartenders become more and more advanced its time they become tipped appropriately. This also benefits how much alcohol is in your drink as well. Bigger tip equals a better night.
Stereotyping women are light drinkers- Don’t assume she wants a martini, studies have shown women want an Old Fashion or a Manhattan just as much as men do.
Avoiding speakeasies- A speakeasy used to be an establishment that illegally sold alcoholic beverages during the Prohibition era. Now speakeasies really focus on crafting an amazing environment, experience and even better cocktails for its customers. Its time you checkout a speakeasy in your town.
Always Going Out To Entertain- Sometimes inviting friends over for game night and drinks is much better than the bar especially through those winter months. First, you need to stock up on good drinks (bourbon, vodka, rum and tequila) next you need the proper tools to make great drinks. Here are some must have basics tools to have to make drinks: cocktail shaker, cutting board, double jigger, muddler, and strainer.
Skipping on cocktail recipes- Similar to food recipes, cocktail recipes can make your night perfect. Now that you have the bottles and the tools, its time to make the drinks. Recipes come in many levels, simple and easy as well as extravagant with longer prep time.
Only drinking tequila in shots- Yes, I get it, taking shots of tequila gets the party started, but Tequila traditionally is supposed to be sipped like Scotch. Go get you a fine Añejo or Extra Añejo to sip on slowly, most Añejo’s come from bourbon barrels and have a lot of the same taste as some of your favorite whiskey’s. This can also be said for some Tequila Blanco’s or Silver’s, though they don’t come from bourbon barrels they still have a smooth finish.
Drinking too many flavored drinks- There are so many flavored drinks, from flavored vodkas to flavored whiskies, but its time to slow down and put the fireball down. Although they taste great, they really only have one function, why spend money on something that only does one thing? For those who are health conscious (yes, we know were talking about alcohol but still), these flavored drinks pack a big sugar punch, almost like syrup, which doesn’t help with that massive hangover the morning after.
Avoiding Beer cocktails- There are a growing number of bars that have cocktails with beer in them. 2015 is the best time to give those cocktails a shot.
Drinking doesn’t kill your diet- Contrary to popular belief, drinking isn’t the reason you cant lose those extra pounds, it’s what you’re doing after the drinking. Because drinking dehydrates you, we tend to become hungry and eat at the wrong times, also avoid mix drinks with juice and or soda, all which turn the sugar into fat in your system. Drinks with organic and natural ingredients, tonic and club soda are your best bet. Nothing beats a scotch neat or on the rocks.
Drinking irresponsibly- In 2012, fatal crashes in the US, one out of every 3 were between 21 and 24 years of age (32%). The next largest group were ages 25 to 34 (27%) (According to the Dept of Transportation (US), National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). Be careful, have a buddy as your designed driver or have a cab number handy. Download the Uber app if available in your area.
