Don’t feel bad, as it happens to all of us at one point or another. While shitty beer never really goes away — trust me, stale kegs and 30’s are still very much a thing in post-grad life — decent beer becomes further appreciated and desired the older you get. While I get f*cked up way less than I did in college, I actually kind of drink more now because I have a delicious new beer with my dinner every night. And buddy, let me let you in on a little secret … Shock Top doesn’t count.

So, with all that in mind, we decided to set the very obtainable (and enjoyable) goal of trying, and hopefully enjoying, a new beer every week.

TMZ has released audio from the 911 call following Demi Lovato’s drug overdose earlier this week that sent the pop star to the hospital. was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after suffering a suspected overdose inside of a Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday, July 24. The 25-year-old singer had just performed on Sunday, July 22 with Iggy Azalea at the California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles. She was set to hit the road later in the week for a show on the east coast. Following her overdose, her immediate health condition was not known.

It was originally reported that Lovato suffered from a heroin dose, but those reports were refuted by those close to Demi, who thanked fans for their outpouring of support while asking for privacy at this time.

The 911 call was placed from Lovato’s house. There was a request for the first responders to turn off their sirens so the matter could remain private, but they were unable to do so since it was a medical emergency. The dispatcher remained on the line with the caller until paramedics arrived at the property.

Demi Lovato’s Struggles With Addiction

In a documentary titled Simply Complicated, Lovato opened up about the severity of her addiction. She opened up turning to alcohol while trying to fit in at school, which eventually turned to the then Disney Channel star trying cocaine for the first time at 17 years old. In 2010, she admitted to a hotel party with alcohol, marijuana, and Adderall which led to tension between her and the Jonas Brothers, who she was on tour with for Camp Rock 2. She also punched a backup dancer on a plane.

Lovato then entered rehab, but still was not sober.

She admitted to sneaking drugs on planes, bathrooms, and partaking every night. At one point, she mixed cocaine and Xanax and thought she was nearly going to overdose. Lovato would always have an eight ball of coke and bag of pills on her, according to the documentary.

I started to choke a little bit and my heart started racing,” she says. “I remember thinking, Oh my god, I might be overdosing right now.”

Lovato was eventually hospitalized after locking herself in her room and beginning to take pills. After being rushed to the hospital, Lovato ingested more pills that the doctors had on them. She recalled, “I didn’t feel anything. I didn’t feel guilty, I didn’t feel embarrassed.”

After performing hungover during an appearance on American Idol in 2012, Lovato eventually got sober when her management threatened to drop her. By 19, she was a year sober and hosting X Factor. On top of the substance abuse, Lovato was suffering from an eating disorder.

In June 2018, Lovato released a song titled “Sober,” which detailed a relapse from six years of sobriety. One month later, on July 24, reports surfaced that the pop star suffered from a suspected overdose and was treated with Narcan at her home. She was transported to the hospital and was “stable, alert, and breathing.”

Ellie Soutter was one of the most promising young snowboarders in Great Britain. Winning a bronze medal for Britain at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Erzurum, Turkey, Soutter, whose nickname was “Bessie,” was the country’s only medalist. She was also recently named as a representative for Team GB at the Junior World Championships in New Zealand.

Unfortunately, her life came to a sudden end.

If one thing is certain — there is no natural born country singer who takes America by storm — like Kenny Chesney. The 50-year-old superstar, originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, is continuing to keep communities spirits around the world alive — as well as — growing them. He did just that.

Just last year, when one of the deadliest Hurricane’s in the Atlantic region, Irma, struck the United States, Cuba, Virgin Islands, and Caribbean Islands, it definitely took a toll on Chesney’s life and impacted him greatly. Chesney, who owns property in the Islands, and has strong ties to the community, so he felt it was time for a new uplifting album, ‘Song for the Saints.’

Chesney mentioned that his 17th studio album, ‘Song for the Saints,’ reflects a turning point in his life — which is set to be released on Friday, July 27. And it’s safe to say that his newly released album draws inspiration from the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, however, Chesney doesn’t exactly see it that way.

“This album isn’t about St. John, so much as it’s about what happened to St. John and all those islands you didn’t see on the news,” Chesney said. He added, “To just see the devastation and what that does to people is one thing, but then there’s this courage and resilience people find.”

According to Chesney, this album is a new adventure for him and his music. Not to mention, this album is his first release on Blue Chair/Warner Bros. Nashville. As for Chesney, he opened up about his take on his new album on Twitter. It’s also worth mentioning, though, this video has already garnered more than 1,000 likes and has been seen over 20,000 times.

His new album touches on so many physical and mental attributes — such as — sadness, resistance, resilience, and strength. And the list goes on and on. Last but not least, Chesney delivers a powerful message in “Song for the Saints,” similar to his latest song, “Get Along,” that was released in April of this year.

Would you be able to tell the difference between a zebra and a painted donkey? Well, one zoo in Cairo, Egypt was banking on no one being able to. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like very many folks were fooled, especially not 18-year-old zoogoer Mahmoud Sarhan.

Sarhan was visiting International Garden municipal park’s recently-opened animal sanctuary.

While he was checking out the animals, he noticed something strange and among further investigation, it appeared that the zoo was trying to be slick and decided to paint a donkey with zebra stripes. They didn’t do a very good job, though. Or maybe it was just hot, and the paint was running.

Sarhan posed next to the animal and shared photos on Facebook with the caption: “The stupidity has reached in the country that they brought a local donkey and painted it to look like a zebra.”

Despite what looks like an obvious fake, the director of Gardens Project in Cairo Mohammed Sulta insisted that the zebra was not a fake.

“The zebra is real and not painted,” Sulta said, via Youm 7 news in Egypt.

Sure, bud, whatever you say. And for what it’s worth, PETA caught wind of the story and issued a statement of their own claiming what we all can obviously tell: that’s a donkey.

“No reputable animal care facility would subject a skittish animal like a donkey to the stress of being restrained and sprayed with chemicals like paint, which could cause a painful allergic reaction, and PETA hopes that Cairo authorities are fully investigating this matter,” PETA Foundation Vice President Delcianna Winders said in a statement, via CNN.

The world has gone mad.

Everyone is going to try and pick Rob Gronkowski or Travis Kelce in the second or third round of the draft. Why not wait and take a sleeper? Tight ends can be a hard position to predict, but you could get lucky. Just ask anybody who waited until the last round in their 2017 draft to take Evan Engram. You can be that person in 2018, or you can pounce on one of these guys, who are primed for a big season.

O.J Howard

Howard was arguably the best tight end prospect since Rob Gronkowski when he entered the draft last season. An injury ended his season early, and Howard showed flashes of brilliance while he was on the field. Dirk Koetter will be coaching for his job this season, and he’ll need to put all his best players on the field. That means it’s time to take the training wheels off of Howard, who averaged an astonishing 16.6 yards per reception during his rookie campaign. Howard should overtake Cameron Brate as the number one tight end in 2018, and he should help lead the Buccaneers offense to a resurgence.

David Njoku

Njoku was another rookie tight end in 2017 who showed impressive flashes of brilliance during his rookie campaign. He caught 32 passes for 386 yards and four touchdowns, and those numbers are about to shoot through the roof with Tyrod Taylor at quarterback. Taylor loves throwing to his tight ends, and a young, large, athletic target like Njoku will be a great security blanket for him. With a receiver combination of Jarvis Landry and Josh Gordon, Njoku might have a lot of room to work in the middle of the field.

George Kittle

Kittle seemed to get better as the season went along, and once Jimmy Garoppolo took over, the two looked like they were on the same page. The numbers don’t really reflect how in sync the two looked on Sundays. That should only get better as Garoppolo moves into his first full year as a starter. With a better receiving corps, Kittle should see his 63 targets increase and hit somewhere around 80. Garoppolo will be able to get Kittle the ball on a consistent basis, and his production will be much better in year two.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship heads north of the border on Saturday for UFC on FOX 30 at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The event is headlined by a lightweight scrap between former titleholder Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier. Former featherweight champion Jose Aldo takes on Jeremy Stephens in the co-main event, while former strawweight titleholder Joanna Jedrzejczyk takes on Tecia Torres on the main card.

Alvarez vs. Poirier is a rematch of their bout from UFC 211 in May 2017 which ended due to illegal strikes after Alvarez kneed Poirier’s head when he was a downed opponent.

Before the bouts could become official, however, all fighters had to step onto the scale for weigh-ins at the fighter hotel on Friday morning. The good news for fight fans is that all 26 competitors hit their marks to make Saturday night’s fights a go.

A dynasty is a team or individual that dominates their sport or league for an extended period of time. This can result in a frequent topic of debate among sports fans due to lack of consensus and agreement in the many different variables and criteria that fans may use to define a sports dynasty. Throughout the history of college basketball, there have been a few teams that have been able to dominate the sport for many years. Let’s take a look at who those three college basketball dynasties have been in the past

3. Tennessee Volunteers Women’s Basketball

In an 11 year span, the Lady Volunteers were able to capture a total of six NCAA championships being led by Hall of Fame head coach, Pat Summit. The Lady Volunteers were the most dominant team in all of Women’s College Basketball and there was no one that could really compete with them during the 90’s. They were always causing chaos on the court for opponents and even when they were not winning titles they were making deep runs into the NCAA Tournament. Summit was able to help her Lady Vols capture two more titles during the 2000’s for a total of 8 titles in Summit’s career. Summit and the dynasty she built at Tenessee may have been topped by another women’s team but it will certainly not be forgotten.

2. University of Connecticut Women Basketball

Usually, dynasties don’t last as long as this one has. In fact, this dynasty is still in the process of happening as the UConn Huskies have won 10 of the last 18 NCAA Championships in Women’s Basketball. Even though they haven’t won in the past two years, having been upset in the championship game. They have shown that they still have the star power to get far. Over the past five seasons, the Huskies have lost a grand total of 3 games! Their record is 188-3 which is absolutely ridiculous. Head coach, Geno Auriemma, has been very influential thanks to his aggressive recruiting and excellent coaching skills, helping turn this team into the greatest dynasty in all of Women’s College Basketball history.

1. UCLA Men’s Basketball

In a 12 year span, John Wooden put together the greatest dynasty of any program in all of College Basketball history. Leading his UCLA Bruins to 10 championships in 12 years is something that will probably never be duplicated by any other coach or program. During that span, Wooden helped coach the Bruins to seven straight championships from ’67 to ’73. From ’71 to ’74 the Bruins won 88 straight games which is one of the most dominant streaks in both men and women’s college basketball. What helped Wooden and his team be so dominant was his different style of coaching compared to his peers. Wooden liked to use a full-court press to force teams into mistakes and he allowed his players to play a free-flowing offense. This UCLA dynasty is the greatest dynasty of all time in both men’s and women’s college basketball and did things that will never be repeated because of the way the game has changed since then.

The quartet previously worked together along with Lil Wayne for the multiple platinum track “I’m The One” in 2017. Now, “No Brainer” will serve as the lead single for DJ Khaled’s upcoming album Father of Asahd. The new album will feature 11 tracks, and we can expect there to be plenty of hype after the monster lead-in single.

“No Brainer” dropped on Friday, July 27, and is available to stream via Apple Music, Spotify, and iTunes.

The video for the track, which will feature DJ Khaled’s son, has been previewed on Instagram.

Thomas Tramaglini, a New Jersey school superintendent that has been accused of repeatedly pooping on a rival high school’s track, has resigned.

After Holmdel High School Track coaches and staff found human feces “on a daily basis”, school employees began monitoring the area and before police arrested Tramaglini, a 42-year-old who was making $140,000 a year as the district.

In addition to his resignation, Tramaglini was charged with defecating in public, lewdness, and littering.

Tramaglini’s lawyer, Matthew Adams, says that the accusations are “falsehoods” and that his “client looks forward to his day in court.”

Tramaglini tendered his resignation and the Kenilworth Board of Education accepted it effective Sept 30, 2018. He was originally placed on paid leave through June 30. The email states the board accepted his resignation in “an effort to avoid legal fees and expensive litigation.”

“The parties have resolved any remaining issues regarding Dr. Tramaglini’s employment contract, as provided by law,” the email states. Adams issued a statement on behalf of his client late Thursday.

“Dr. Tramaglini will continue to fight the allegations made against him in Holmdel, and will also hold those responsible for the malicious narrative that has been spread about him to account for their misconduct,” the statement read. “No aspect of this difficult decision should be construed as an acknowledgement of guilt. Dr. Tramaglini is steadfast in his resolve, and looks forward to the day when his full story is told.”

The statement also said Tramaglini “does not want present and future legal proceedings unrelated to his official duties to the district to present a distraction to the important job that the teachers and administrators in the district have educating children.”

The board will begin a search for an interim superintendent, “with the hope and expectation that one will be ready before the office becomes vacant on October 1, 2018.”

Former Miami Hurricanes running back Tyrone Moss has died at age 33. The University of Miami confirmed the news on Friday, July 27, with a post on social media which read, “One of our brothers was taken too soon. Our thoughts are with Tyrone Moss’ family and friends during this difficult time.”

There is no word on where Moss was at the time of his passing.

“It’s a total shock,” Steve Davis, Moss’ former coach, said. “He was, by far, the best player I’ve ever coached at the high school level…My greatest moment was watching him in that state championship. He had over 200 yards. He was just incredible. He was a great football player, but he was a greater human.”

While the specific cause of death has not been announced, it is reported by the Orlando Sun-Sentinel that the former running back was suffering from “an unspecified illness or medical condition.” The update was provided by Moss’ former coach at Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach, Florida, Steve Davis. During his high school career, Moss rushed for 7,105 yards and led the team to a state championship.

At Miami, Moss recorded 1,942 yards on the ground and 26 touchdowns.

Surveillance footage has surfaced showing William Mendoza, one of President Obama’s senior’s officials, following a woman around a DC Metro station and taking a photo up her skirt with his cell phone back in July 2016, with the footage even capturing the cell phone’s flash. Around two years later, he has since pleaded guilty to attempted voyeurism, of which he was later convicted of, and resigned from his job.

What happened?

According to Daily Mail, Mendoza was caught on security cameras carrying out the vile act while he was executive director of the White House Initiative on American Indian and Alaska Native Education. During the case, he pleaded guilty to attempted voyeurism and resigned from his position, worth $140,000 a year.

Despite the conviction, Mendoza’s arrest was not made public until a Daily Mail acquired a report of the investigation, even obtaining surveillance footage under a Freedom of Information Act request. The footage was reportedly found to be in five segments and were not kept within chronological order, having been used by the Metro Police Transit Department’s investigation. The first, second and fifth clip showcased Mendoza following a woman with the cell phone in his hand, from different angles. The third clip showed Mendoza and the woman entering the ticketed area around the same time. The fourth clip showed him turning on his phone, also appearing to be getting closer to the woman.

Who is William Mendoza?

A former senior official, William Mendoza was the director of the White House Initiative on American Indian and Alaska Native Education under President Obama.

Mendoza was arrested and charged in November 2016 after the woman, as well as three others, complained about his behavior to local police.

As mentioned, Mendoza left his position before the Department of Education could launch their own investigation. In addition, after making a guilty plea, he was convicted of attempted voyeurism and fined $100.

The massive bidding war over the rights to 21st Century Fox entertainment subsidiaries, excluding all news outlets and television mediums, came to a close when the House of Mouse dropped a check for $71.3 billion dollars to secure those wildly precious IPs. This is one of the biggest media mergers in history. While the financial aspects of this merger can make your head spin, there’s a million ways Disney will (or could) benefit from this massive undertaking going forward. The big winner out of this is, per usual, Marvel Studios. Yes, 21st Century Fox has numerous IPs that Disney will now have the rights to, however, why not start the party off with a bang?

Here are the top 3 ways this merger will have the most positive impact on the entertainment landscape.

Marvel Recreates The Fantastic Four

While past adaptations of Fantastic 4 have been severely lackluster, it’s no wonder that Marvel has had their eye on getting back the rights to ‘the first family’ for quite some time. It’s true that some ideas can get played out and audience fatigue begs studios to just stop trying to make certain IPs work. However, let’s take a step back and think about how Spider-Man: Homecoming was reinvented for the MCU.

Sometimes all it takes is a fresh set of eyes and the success of a larger studio to allow these properties to thrive. There is no doubt Marvel Studios will be looking to fit Fantastic 4 in the larger landscape – especially since most of the action has been taking place in space – there already is a solid place to start!

The X-Men, Mutants, And Inhumans

Inhumans have been a Marvel thing for anyone who watches Agents of SHIELD. They’re basically mutants whose powers develop once they’re exposed to a certain element. To be honest, they’re pretty badass and like mutants have existed for hundreds of years. Now that Disney has the rights to X-Men, it’s highly doubtful that they will pick up on the current reboot storyline as opposed to tying mutants in with their own version of inhumans.

Everyones favorite Sokovian, Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch, is a mutant in the original source material. This didn’t stop Marvel from working around the issue at the time to include her character in their phase of development. The rise of characters with enhanced abilities is profound and will only grow once Captain Marvel hits theaters with her human/alien hybrid DNA. I highly doubt we will get a Marvel version of Wolverine, it almost feels like sacred ground to think about, but the X-Men Universe has characters just as damaged and interesting that could provide a new wave of films for years to come.

Keep Deadpool Out Of The Mix

Deadpool is so successful because it’s unique. The whole NSFW vibe it has going for it works very well. Marvel shouldn’t compromise a well-oiled machine when there’s nothing to fix. By allowing Deadpool to operate in his own world, perhaps do some slapstick cameos, this protects the IP from being conflated with everything Marvel Studios has bundled like a Progressive Insurance Plan.

In another sense, by allowing Deadpool to do its own thing, the entire X-Force concept could be revitalized and just how he jokes about only interacting with limited X-Men… maybe keep it that way! Deadpool isn’t fun because he’s part of the team, he’s fun because the character works and makes sense to a larger audience. He doesn’t need to be roaming around Xavier’s mansion to have a purpose so let’s let this one stand on its own feet for a while.

The sorority formerly known as Kappa Alpha Theta at Harvard University is set to become gender-neutral organization due to the school’s effort to dismember single-gender social clubs. The sorority will change their name to “Theta Zeta Xi”.

Earlier this week, the organization announced that they would be disaffiliating from its national organization, changing their name and becoming inclusive to people of all genders this upcoming fall semester.

In their official statement, the former sorority said that their decision is linked to the university administration’s efforts to penalize discriminatory social clubs, stating that they are acting “in good faith with Harvard’s social organization and nondiscrimination policies.”

“This decision reflects our commitment to supporting our members as they take full advantage of the academic and leadership opportunities available to them as Harvard students, which we believe is central to our mission,” the statement added, pointing out that the members of the sorority voted unanimously to become all-gender club.

The sorority previously took a different stance. Last year, after Harvard administration voted to adopt the sanctions on single-gender clubs, the group released a statement pledging to continue its tradition of allowing only women to be the members, the Boston Globe reported.

“These sanctions unfairly force women to choose between the opportunity to have supportive, empowering female-only spaces and external leadership opportunities,” the statement read.

Since the vote to penalize single-gender clubs, a number of fraternities and other male-dominated social clubs decided to become open to everyone, but all-female groups were more reluctant to embrace the change.

Elizabeth Rinck, the director of communications of the international Kappa Alpha Theta organization, from which the Harvard sorority is disaffiliating, said they are “sad to see the group leave the partnership.”
