Karyn Bryant is a veteran reporter and on-air personality, most notably known by mixed martial arts fans for her time hosting “UFC Tonight” on FOX Sports 1 and being a regular interviewer and member of the panel during pre-show and post-fight broadcasts on the network leading up to and recapping the biggest events that the Ultimate Fighting Championship puts on.
But long before Bryant was involved in the mixed martial arts world, she was successful thanks to her love of music and even politics.
Bryant, who was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts to a mother of Jamaican descent, graduated from Brown University with bachelor’s degrees in political science and sociology. She was also a co-anchor on CNN’s “Showbiz Tonight,” along with a brief stint on CNN’s “Talk Back Live.” It was after her time at CNN that Bryant became involved in the sports world.
The 49-year-old joined ESPN for the Worldwide Leader’s first live New Years Eve show, before joining the commenting team with Showtime Championship Boxing alongside Steve Albert, Al Bernstein, and Jim Gray.
From there, there was no turning back as Bryant fully emersed herself in the MMA world.
Bryant went on to launch MMAheat.com, where she remains a co-owner to this day, joined CBS’ announcer team for Elite Xtreme Combat and its primetime broadcasts, before ultimately joining forces with FOX Sports 1 and the UFC.

Police in Lawrence, Indiana are investigating what is believed to be a double shooting in the area. The two victims’ conditions were unknown during early reports of a story, although it is believed that they were taken to separate medical centers, with one transported to Eskenazi and the other transported to Riley. Information about the possible gunman was not revealed during early reports of the story.

One person has killed and injured in a knife attack in Paris inside the Opera district, as confirmed by French media. During early reports of the story, the attacker was not identified and their motive was also not immediately made clear to the public.

According to the BBC, local police officers attempted to use a taser against the attack but this proved unable to stop them; they then proceeded to fire two shots. At this time, it is believed that the unidentified attacker was shot dead by police.
The exact number of casualties is unclear at this time. According to France 24 and Reuters, officials confirmed that the number of casualties includes three injured and one person killed. According to Unian, there were two people who were reported to have been killed in the attack, possibly referring to both the attacker and the victim. According to the BBC, the number of those wounded was updated to around five; the same publication also took note that French police warned people not to spread rumors concerning the story. According to the Independent, at least two of the people who were injured might be in serious condition.

“First one we thought it was two guys fighting.”

“When we ran away they were still looking for the guy and one woman was laying down on the floor her neck was bleeding.”

Former NFL head coach Chuck Knox passes away at 86 years of age after he endured a lengthy battle with dementia.

While Knox is believed to have passed away this past Saturday, March 12, 2018, news of his death was not announced to the public until the following Sunday.
Knox’s granddaughter issued the following statement on Twitter:
“RIP Popster. I’ll miss you forever. You have always been my dad. You gave me more guidance, hope, encouragement than anyone ever has. I will treasure you forever. No one else will ever compare #nfl #football @seahawks @rams @buffalobills”
To sports fans, Knox was known as the first coach to take the Seattle Seahawks to playoffs; he was also the ninth man inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor. Knox started his coaching career as an offensive lin coach with the Jets, later working with the Lions, the Rams and the Bills. He eventually started his work with the Seahawks in 1983.
According to Kiro 7, Steve Raible, the “Voice of the Seahawks,” issued the following statement over Knox’s passing:
“He was amazing in his ability to tailor his teams to the talent that he had.”
“[His 1983 AFC playoff] was as big a victory as the Seahawks have ever had,” Raible said. “It was as crazy and as fun a locker room as I had ever seen, and as enjoyable a flight home as the Seahawks have ever had until they won a Super Bowl Championship.
“And that came about because Chuck Knox came in as head coach and instilled something in these guys – many of whom were already here – that let them know they could win championships.”

Legendary Ole Miss football coach Billy Brewer passed away this weekend in Memphis. The Rebels confirmed the news of Brewer’s death early Sunday morning. Brewer coached Ole Miss for 11 seasons and won eight Egg Bowl rivalry games over Mississippi State during that time. He had an overall record of 67-56-3, with wins in the Liberty Bowl and Independence Bowl.
As a coach and player, Billy Brewer shared a love for Ole Miss that was unparalleled,” Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke said in a statement released by the program. “He was greatly admired by his players and his teammates and will forever be engrained in the history of Rebel Football. Our prayers go out to the Brewer family and all of Rebel Nation during this time.”

About Billy Brewer
Brewer was born October 8, 1935, and began his coaching career at Lee High School in Columbus, Mississippi. He then joined Heritage Academy, an all-white school, before coaching defensive backs at Southeastern Louisiana. Brewer was ultimately promoted to head coach where he earned a 38-24-2 record. He then moved to Louisiana Tech from 1980-1982, winning the Southland Championship in his final year with the Bulldogs.
He then went on to his most successful stop at Ole Miss though his career came to an unfortunate end when NCAA alleged Ole Miss officials knowingly allowed violations to occur and demonstrated a lack of institutional control. That led to the resignation of athletic director Warner Alford and let to Brewer’s firing.
Despite the NCAA issues, Brewer remains a legendary figure in Ole Miss football history and is beloved by the fans.
Three people in north Charlotte in North Carolina this Sunday afternoon, as confirmed by local medical professionals. One person endured serious injuries and the two other only suffered minor injuries, as confirmed by the local medics. All three people were being treated to CMC main. Raquel Pennington showed off her toughness during the UFC 224 main event, but ultimately came up short against women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes to cap off a wild night of finishes at Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. But while Nunes was dominant throughout the fight, it was the title challenger who drove the biggest post-fight storyline thanks to a decision made by her corner ahead of the final frame.
After Round 4, Pennington returned to her corner to tell her coaches, “I’m done.”
But her corner did not throw in the towel and instead convinced Pennington to go into the final round where she was once again pummeled until blood poured out of her face and the referee jumped in to stop the fight just two minutes later.

That begs the question: should Pennington’s corner have thrown in the towel and respected their fighter’s wishes? Many in the mixed martial arts community criticized Pennington’s corner for their decision, while others understood why they would not want her to regret quitting in a title fight.
Ultimately, it is a decision they will all have to live with and it may be easier to deal with the title loss by knowing you went out on your shield rather than by throwing in the towel.

The fourth episode of HBO’s Westworld in the already action packed second season airs this Sunday, May 13, 2018. In this episode, the official synopsis sounds like a new story is about to unfold for William, The Man in Black: “This game is meant for you, but you must play alone.” The Man in Black offers to lead the way and Delos gets a visitor.

Bernard runs into an old colleague he choked out and left to die in the park back in season one. Elsie isn’t too thrilled to see him, even after he frees her. His “health” is deteriorating as he falls in spasm in front of her and she realizes his true nature: his entire life is just a manufactured cornerstone. Elsie helps him — for now, saying he needs more cortical fluid.

Remembering the underground facility that brought Bernard to that location in the park in the first place, he taps into his memory and shows Elsie that Ford indeed held a secret base within the park. He also tells her Delos has big plans for the data they’ve recovered (monitoring the guest interactions from the hosts) now that Ford is dead.
Upon learning that Ford is dead, Elsie gives Bernard the massive dose of cortical fluid he needs to keep his brain afloat, despite not trusting him. Turns out based of his code, Bernard’s brain is swiss cheese and he can’t tell whether he’s living in the present of in a memory.

As The Man In Black and Lawrence make their way through William’s own narrative puzzle, he comes across Major Craddock, recently freed by Teddy last week. He’s REALLY pissed off about being double crossed by Dolorous/Wyatt too, if that wasn’t clear enough from his pro-murder stance this week.
He’s holding everyone captive until he gets his hands on a bag of weapons, which Lawrence knows where they’re buried. He tells The Man In Black they’re in an unmarked grave and he’s looking to make a deal, because no matter how desperate Major Craddock is for revenge, only William can show him the true path.
I Know The Way

The Man In Black… following a narrative established just for him, is traveling with Lawrence and now roped into helping Major Craddock. These are all just steps in the game that will bring him to where he believes he ultimately needs to be.
While Craddock has his men beat Lawrence, he sits down with The Man In Black to figure out his true intentions, along with making sure William knows his in return. Even when threatening Lawrence’s wife, William doesn’t make a move on Craddock yet, despite how Craddock is ranting about how familiar he is with death.
All the talk of family and mastering death brings The Man In Black to some semblance of the young William we once knew. He flashes back to his own wife’s suicide and he tells Craddock that death is always true and he has never known a single true thing in his life. He asks Craddock, “If you’re so familiar with death… you didn’t recognize Him sitting across from you this whole time.” The bottle breaks and William sticks the jagged edges into his throat as he frees Lawrence and guns down his other men.
The eerie relationship between young William and his father-in-law proves that the man has been DEAD for 7 years and William has been monitoring his functions as a host. He has all the same memories as Jim Delos, which shows how the conditioning we saw in the opening of the episode has been taking place over several years, and this is the Jim Delos we’re left with. William doesn’t seem to mind, as he terminates this version of Jim based on slight cognitive glitches and plans to start again. William is no longer the sentimental carefree man we once knew, that’s for damn sure.
William visits Jim again when he’s a much older man (The Man In Black) back in his room of captivity. He’s still having cognitive glitches, to which William says this is the 149th time he’s been brought back online. William tells him, people just aren’t meant to live forever, and with that, everyone prefers the memory of someone to who they actually are.
In a creepy twist, the door Elsie unlocks at the secret base reveals that Jim Delos never actually was decommissioned. He was existing all this time in the prison William had built for him still hoping to live forever. Bernard and Elsie seal the room and set it ablaze.
In an even creepier twist, the girl who got attacked by the tiger, Grace, she’s William’s daughter. Talk about one hell of a family filled episode!

John Dorie clearly is a simple man who lived a simple life, being that before or after the apocalypse. He plays scrabble by himself, cleans his log cabin, watches television with a big bowl of popcorn, pulls dead walkers from his lake, just your average dude.
Something was bound to pull him from his mundane routine… and that something was finding Laura. Injured and washed up at his cabin, he brings her in and treats her wound, giving him a new sense of purpose. But from what we know about Naomi/Laura, she’s not one who likes to stick around long. Only after some coaxing does John get her out of his truck when she tries to make a run for it.
She stays and John stitches her wound and cooks her dinner, glad to have some company.

John tells Laura he’s about to make a run for supplies and she offers to come with him. They take the canoe she washed up to his cabin in, which makes for a really quaint “meet-cute” moment. As they paddle to the store, they learn bits and pieces about one another, he, a former cop, she, a nurse.
They arrive at a local store that was formerly owned by a friend of John’s. He hasn’t seen anyone since everything went south. Laura reorganizes the supplies to help people in case any injured come that way, putting together a shelf of bandages, rulers, splints, and duct tape. John admires her, saying he bet that wasn’t the first time she’d done that. She finds his fondness for movies endearing, especially since he still checks them out as if the world could return to normal one day. They find solace in each others’ admiration for respecting the world they once knew.
Naomi/Laura asks John to teach her to fish, and it seems she’s been hanging around there a lot longer than she initially said she would. Her wound is healed and John is comfortable enough with her to remove the stitches. In return for him helping her, Laura offers to help John with his walker problem, they’re falling off a bridge and making their way down to his cabin. She builds up the weak part of the bridge fence with John and it seems like their methods of taking out walkers are different: John is a former cop who won’t use guns. He confesses to Laura he shot someone, a man robbing a store, and the thought of his actions haunt him, more-so because people called him a hero for taking a life.
As it turns out, their plan to fix the bridge backfired and it ended up collapsing under the pressure of a hoard of walkers. Soon, John finds his cabin overrun and he calls out to Laura but watches as she gets taken down by a swarm of walkers. Only then, hearing her screams, does the gunslinger whip out both pistols and shoots rapid fire head shots to each of Laura’s assailants. She looks at him, stunned by his skill, this humble man who hates guns but can practically carve a cake with a bullet, who had just saved her life.
John tells her that he loves her, and he needs her alive. Laura runs and kisses him, yet when John wakes up, she’s gone.

“She loved you.” Morgan tells John. As they sit on the side of the road where Althea left them, Morgan tells him he was right to love her because waiting is how you lose people. John believes that this is the end of his road, but Morgan tells John that the way Strand and Alicia are living is not the only way, nor the right way, because being alive means you are part of the world.
“Let’s not waste another second,” says Morgan, and the duo pick each other up off the side of the road and keep moving forward.
