A bomb squad has been dispatched to Terminal B at San Jose Mineta International Airport in California after a suspicious package was found. The package is being described as a backpack.

According to reports, no new passengers are being allowed in Terminal B at this time. All post-security passengers in the terminal are being escorted to other terminals so that they won’t have to be re-screened. Officials said Terminal B primarily affects Alaska and Southwest Air. Travelers were being moved to Terminal A, which is sheltering in place.

San Jose Airport spokeswoman Vicki Day said that the report of the package was made around 10AM local time after a suspicious package was located in a passenger lounge in Terminal B. The San Jose Police Department and the San Jose Fire Department are at the scene with a bomb-squad unit.

Despite San José being the largest city in the Bay Area, the airport is the smallest of the three Bay Area commercial airports in terms of total passengers, serving 10.8 million passengers in 2016.

There are no reports of any further threats, injuries, or fatalities at this time.

Norman Y. Mineta San José International Airport is a city-owned public airport in San José, California, United States. It is named after San José native Norman Mineta, former Transportation Secretary in the Cabinet of George W. Bush and Commerce Secretary in the Cabinet of Bill Clinton.

The name also recognizes Mineta’s service as a councilman for, and mayor of, San José. It is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection international port of entry. It is three miles northwest of Downtown San José near the intersections of U.S. Route 101, Interstate 880, and State Route 87. In 2017, 49% of departing or arriving passengers at SJC flew on Southwest Airlines; Alaska Airlines, for which SJC is also a focus city, was second most popular with about 12.3% of passengers.

Good news, sports fans and essentially anyone with working eyes, Mackenzie Dern is finally headed to the UFC. Dern, who is an American Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, is a former world #1 ranked IBJJF competitor and is currently ranked 6th among the female divisions.

The 24-year-old former world champion grappler made her MMA debut in July of 2016. With an undefeated 5-0 record, MMA Fighting reports that Dern will be facing off against Ashley Yoder at UFC 222 on March 3 in Las Vegas. Dern’s first UFC opponent is Ashley Yoder, also known as the ‘Spider Monkey’. Yoder is 5-3 in MMA since making her debut back in 2014.

Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Dern is the daughter of Wellington “Megaton” Dias, who is a highly decorated grappler in his own right. Her stepmother, Luciana Tavares, is also a black belt. She began training and practicing with her father by age 3 and started competing at a young age. Dern began competing in the adult divisions at just 14-years-old before graduating from Ironwood High School in Glendale, Arizona.

Dern has won a world championship in every belt level as she progressed to black belt rank, which was awarded to her by her father in December 2012, three months prior to her 20th birthday.

Now that Dern is going to debut in the UFC’s, expect her star to begin to shine much brighter then it has.

Team USA has announced its rosters for its ice hockey teams for the 2018 Winter Olympics, announced during the 2018 Winter Classic’s intermission.

As the announcement explains, the ice hockey teams will combine former players from the National Hockey League, college athletes and minor league players.

As Tony Granato, the men’s team coach, explained in a statement, according to Time:

“Obviously from a selection process, it’s been a battle for us on all the players we have available to us. I think we’ve put together an outstanding group of players that will represent us well come February and give us a great chance to do really well and compete for a medal.”

Meghan Duggan, who is part of the women’s team, described the work it took making up the team:

“We had to figure out what we were made of, what we wanted to accomplish over these last couple of years, and really put ourselves in a position to achieve the goal we want to achieve as a program and as a team and as a country going into this next Olympics.”

“We’re excited…We’ve got the right group.”

A major snowstorm could possibly reach the United States by the end of the week, bringing up around a foot of snow to regions from Maine to northern Virginia. It has been theorized that such a storm could even affect the weather from Canada to Florida. It’s a little too late to wish for a white Christmas, but is it possible that it could snow in Florida this year?

Anything can happen, but let’s settle at ‘possible’

According toAccuweather, the storm could reach areas traditionally known for their heat:

“Regardless, as the storm strengthens, winds will increase hundreds of miles away from the center of the circulation beginning Wednesday and Wednesday night. Blustery and cold conditions are in store as far south as Florida, the Bahamas, and Cuba.”

The National Weather Service has confirmed that Florida can see freezing bridges and black ice. As for snow, or at least “freezing rain,” it is “possible.” To put this into context, a specific amount of snow cannot be determined at this time, but temperatures in Florida will be around freezing. This means that any precipitation in the area could become snow.

In addition, the weather has been unstable this year, with this being the first time in four years the National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for parts of North Florida, so anything could happen.

It’s happened before, but snow is not exactly confirmed

However, there will only be a slight chance of snow. As Nate McGinnis with National Weather Service explained, according to The Orlando Sentinel, “I’m not going to be the Debby Downer and say there’s going to be no flakes in Florida because there could be. But we’re not anticipating snow.”

Denis Philips, a meteorologist based in Tampa, also explained the situation on Facebook:

“For a lot of us, It’s kind of fun to think about the prospects of ‘snow’ in Florida. We had chances about 5 years ago, when the GFS actually showed a bit of it ‘sticking’. It didn’t happen. This time, the Euro shows a slight, repeat, SLIGHT chance for a couple of snowflakes on Wednesday. Doubtful, but not impossible. See the dotted blue line? That’s what we call the 540 line, or the ‘rain/snow’ line. If everything set up, look North of that line. Doubtful? Yes. Still, kind of fun to think about.”

If you’ve seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi, then you probably know exactly what scene in the movie is being mocked when you read the phrase “Kylo Ren Challenge”. If you haven’t seen the movie and care about spoilers (which, if you do care about spoilers and HAVEN’T see the new Star Wars yet, that’s on you buddy), then I suggest you stop reading because obviously, spoiler alerts follow:

The #KyloRenChallenge appears to be simple — find some black pants that reach halfway up your stomach. While high-waisted pants are nothing new, Ren’s were pulled up to almost his nipples, which is all the more hilarious when you consider that there was no need for this scene in the movie at all.

This is one of many viral challenges that has popped up over the last couple of years. Some, such as the Ice Bucket Challenge, has been extremely positive, as the virality of that raised loads of money for ALS research. Other viral challenges, such as the cinnamon challenge or the Kylie Jenner lip challenge, were not as noble, to say the least.

All of this is hypothetical for the time being, but with increasing belief that Jon Gruden will end up leaving the MNF crew for a job with the Oakland Raiders we are forced to look at who might replace him if he decided to leave. ESPN will explore a ton of options to fill the highly coveted job, they will range from former players to other networks broadcasters. So I went through and put together the guys I would most like to see as the new color commentator of MNF.

Pat McAfee

Pat McAfee was the punter for the Colts for 8 years before retiring last year to join Barstool Sports. In his NFL career he reached the Pro Bowl twice but he was more known for his comedy and crazy personality. During his playing days, Pat would actually do stand up comedy because he just loves to make people laugh. He has taken this to the next level at Barstool with the multiple podcasts he does including “The Pat McAfee Show” and “Laces Out”. If you haven’t listened to these I 10/10 recommend you give it a listen, you’ll be rolling on the floor in laughter I promise. Pat has also done a great job attracting an audience by breaking down Punts on Twitter. Normally no one would watch that but Pat is just so funny that it becomes a must watch of any NFL Sunday. Overall I think Pat McAfee has the personality and charisma to take this job to the next level. He’s already threw his hat into the ring!

Jay Cutler

A lot of you might remember that before accepting a 1-year deal to play QB for the Miami Dolphins Jay Cutler was supposed to be the new color guy at FOX. Jay Cutler has developed a rep of not giving a crap about anything, but, apparently, he loves playing football still. Too bad his on the field performance this year was lackluster so odds are his best shot at being around football is in the booth. I think ESPN is going to try and stick with the latest announcer fad aka the Tony Romo effect by going with a recently retired QB. Jay is also the centerpiece for one of my favorite memes on the internet, The Cutler Cig

ESPN will basically take whatever person they think will make the “biggest splash” and why not take the guy who is the subject of a million internet memes. C’mon ESPN give this guy a chance!

Kurt Warner

Kurt Warner is a Hall of Fame QB who is currently working for the NFL Network on a variety of different shows. Kurt brings just as much energy to the TV set as he did the football field and he’s pretty darn good at both of them. Kurt does have experience as a Color Commentator filling in for Chris Collinsworth on several occasions for NBC. I think Kurt would be the dynamic personality ESPN would need to fill grudens shoes but he also brings a ton of knowledge of the game. The main thing they will try and do is make sure they get a “name” to fill the spot. Kurt Warner fits that bill all the way, everyone knows Kurt Warner. I think this would be the safest pick for the job but we”ll see what ESPN does.

Peyton Manning

I put Peyton as 4th on this list just to make sure you guys didn’t stop reading after him. Peyton Manning should be the first person they call if Gruden leaves. forget Dunkin Doughnuts America on Runs Peyton! Seriously during his final season in the NFL you could not turn on the TV without seeing that 10 foot forehead! I love Peyton and I think he would fill in great! People seem to love when Romo predicts whats going to happen during the next play, well lets just say Peyton will blow him out of the water. Peyton Manning was literally known for knowing what play was going to be run! Add that horrible sense of humor that makes the you laugh even though you don’t want too and you got yourself a gold mine! ESPN don’t be dumb! Sign my boy Peyton!

Ellen’s Game of Games is an American television game show hosted by Ellen DeGeneres. The show is based off of game segments from DeGeneres’ hit talk show. NBC announced six hour-long episodes would be aired starting January 2, 2018, after a preview that aired in December was a huge hit.

The new show is said to combine a bunch of game show concepts that are already on television, making for a wild mix of a show. The season episode is titled “I’ll Have What She’s Playing” and features a battle between husbands and their wives.

Here’s how NBC officially described Tuesday’s episode to viewers:

“Contestants in this week’s “Ellen’s Game of Games” will play “Bet Your Wife,” ” One-Eyed Monster,” “Master Blaster” and “Blindfolded Musical Chairs.” In “Bet Your Wife,” two wives are suspended 30 feet in the air while their husbands bet on how many things the wife can name in 30 seconds, while “One-Eyed Monster” will find contestants answering trivia questions inside an oversized one-eyed monster, trying to avoid being swallowed whole. The winner of each round moves on to “Know or Go,” and the person who wins that game advances to “Hot Hands” for a chance to win a big cash prize. Ellen DeGeneres hosts while Stephen “tWitch” Boss serves as announcer.”

On Tuesday, January 2, United States President Donald Trump announced that he would be holding the “The Most Dishonest & Corrupt Media Awards Of The Year” on Monday, January 8.

According to POTUS’ announcement, which was made on Twitter, the subjects that will be covered during The Most Dishonest & Corrupt Media Awards of the Year are “dishonesty & bad reporting in various categories from the Fake News Media.”

While the exact categories of the Most Dishonest & Corrupt Media Awards of the Year have yet to be announced at this time, the President asked everyone to “stay tuned”. The favorites to be nominated for the President’s awards are outlets such as NBC, ABC, CNN, CBS, the New York Times, and the Washington Post.

Baltimore Police are arriving on the scene of what is reported as an “active shooter” in the 5300 block of Nottingham Dr in White Marsh, Maryland.

UPDATE: Baltimore’s Jim Russ, after tweeting about the “active shooter”, announced that it’s a false alarm.

It is unclear at this time if there are any injuries, suspects, or fatalities.

Nearby towns include Perry Hall to the north, Rosedale to the southwest, Middle River to the south and Parkville to the west.

What’s the funniest show on television right now? If your answer was Young Sheldon, kindly escort yourself off the nearest roof. Did you guess South Park? Maybe ten years ago, but certainly not now. Did you guess Rick and Morty? Then you nailed it.

Rick and Morty is currently the best cartoon on television and it isn’t even close. Between its mind-bending plot lines, mile-a-minute jokes, or gorgeously creative animation, Rick and Morty is just a step ahead of its competitors. Except when it comes to season length, as they are currently only airing 10 episodes per season.

Back in South Park’s heyday, they were airing at least 14 episodes per season, so there’s no reason why Rick and Morty can’t follow suit. And according to co-creator Dan Harmon, that change isn’t too far away, as he says that the only reason 14-episode-long seasons hasn’t happened yet is due to his perfectionism.

“My obsessiveness is an enemy that needs to be fought … And that ‘Purge’ episode is fun and great. I can feel it’s “good enough” quality. I think the audience would vote unanimously for the idea of 14 episodes instead of 10 on the condition that 4 of them would be [‘Purge Planet’ level] episodes.”

Given that Rick and Morty at its worst is still far superior then most comedy shows at their best, churning out more episodes makes sense for both the creators and the advertisers. Unfortunately, we may not get those new episodes until 2019.

Insidious: The Last Key is an upcoming supernatural horror film directed by Adam Robitele, director of The Taking of Deborah Logan, and written by co-creator ,Leigh Whannell. This film is the fourth installment of the Insidious franchise, but second in terms of in-story chronology, following Insidious: Chapter 3.

Insidious: The Last Key is produced by Insidious regulars Jason Blum who also produced The Purge series and Get Out, Oren Peli producer of Paranormal Activity and co-creator James Wan who produced The Conjuring and Furious 7.

The film is set to be released in theaters on Jan. 5. It will pick up where the last one left off, following the main character Elise Rainier, played by Lin Shaye. Rainier, a psychologist, goes on to investigate the recent supernatural occurrences in a families home in New Mexico. When she receives the phone call from the worried family, she finds out that the house was her childhood home, causing an even thicker plot.

Rainier takes her two investigative partners and travels to New Mexico to confront and destroy the demon she accidentally set free years earlier, during her childhood. This causes the haunting to be especially personal for Rainier.

The film is said to feature flashbacks to Rainer as a teenager, played by Hana Hayes. Audiences will be shown the horrifying demon with keys on the end of each fingertip. The keys are said to be able to turn off the screams of each victim.

We also get insight into the family that currently lives in the New Mexico home, especially when the ghostly encounters start to make them question their own sanity.

The Premier League festive fixture continue today as Antonio Conte’s Chelsea head to the Emirates to take on  Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal in a London Derby.

Chelsea, who currently sit third in the Premier League table, can leapfrog over second place Manchester United with a win, are coming off of two straight EPL victories, achieving a 2-0 win over Brighton and a 5-0 win over Stoke City.

The University of Arizona has fired football coach Rich Rodriguez after a $7.5M claim filed against him with the state attorney general’s office alleged that he ran a hostile workplace.

According to The Arizona Daily Star, University president Robert C. Robbins and athletic director Dave Heeke have said that the school will honor Rodriguez’s contract, paying him an expected $6 million buyout. As they explained in a statement, “While this is a difficult decision, it is the right decision and it is a decision that lives up to the core values of the University of Arizona.”

For his part, Rodriguez issued a statement on social media, claiming what had been said against him in the claim was untrue, adding that he assisted with the investigation and took a polygraph test. As he wrote:

“I am not a perfect man, but the claims by my former assistant are simply not true and her demands for a financial settlement are outrageous. I am saddened that these accusations and investigation have caused my family additional stress.”

For the time being, however, there is still the issue of Rodriguez’s replacement. We’ve collected five possible candidates.

Kevin Sumlin

A former player, Sumlin has the titles of head coach at Texas A&M University and the University of Houston on his resume. Sumlin also has some connections to ASU; current Arizona defensive coordinator Marcel Yates was his defensive coordinator during his time at A&M. He also worked with former Arizona quarterback, B.J. Denker.

Lane Kiffin

Kiffin is currently the head coach at Florida Atlantic University. Rodriguez is arguably a fan; he voted for the USC Trojans while they were under Kiffin for the 2012 USA Today Coaches’ Poll.

Mark Helfrich

Former coach Helfrich was previously the head coach for the University of Oregon. He also has a past with Arizona state, working as an assistant coach under Dirk Koetter from 2001 to 2005.

Joe Salave’a

Who better than an alum? Salave’a attended and played at Arizona for three years. He had also been the Defensive Line coach at the school, with more recent coaching jobs at Washington State and Oregon.

Marcel Yates

Yates is already the interim coach during Rodriguez’s dismissal. If he does a good enough job, anything could happen.

Late Tuesday evening on January 2nd, 2017, the University of Arizona posted a notice revealing that University of Arizona Wildcats head coach, Rich Rodriquez, would be fired over claims of sexual harassment. News of Rodriquez’s firing first came from a notice of claim posted on The Arizona Daily Star claiming that Rodriquez was running a hostile workplace.

Rich Rodriquez was also investigated by the University of Arizona back in October over sexual harassment allegations but the school felt the evidence provided was unsubstantiated and dropped the case. Now, with the notice of claim being filed (which signifies an impending lawsuit) the University has dropped the top-ranked coach in a quick manner.

University of Arizona President Robert Robbins and athletic director David Heeke released a statement late Tuesday evening stating:

After conducting a thorough evaluation of our football program and its leadership, both on and off the field, President Robbins and I feel it is in the best interest of the University of Arizona and our athletics department to go in a new direction. We’ll move through the coaching search in an effort to identify a head coach that will build a solid foundation for our program and create an identity of Arizona football that the University, Tucson and Southern Arizona communities can be proud of. We’re excited about the future of our football program and we look forward to introducing our new head coach at the completion of the search process.

The lawsuit in question comes from Rodriquez’s former assistant who is suing the former coach for $7.5 million on claims that he sexually harassed her and created a workplace that made her fear coming into work. According to the notice of claim acquired by ESPN, the woman who is suing is claiming that Rodriquez kept trying to keep his affair with her quiet, that he would grope and kiss her, and an allegation stating that players on the Wildcats team would send her pictures of their genitalia to which Rodriquez completely ignored when she tried to get him to intervene.

Arizona Wildcats New Head Coach: Top 5 Choices After Rodriguez

After news broke of Rich Rodriquez’s firing, he released a public statement to his personal Twitter account in order to help clear his name. According to his statement, “The University initiated a thorough outside investigation. I fully cooperated with the investigation, including voluntarily taking and passing a polygraph.” He also ended the post saying that, “I am not a perfect man but the claims [made] by my former assistant are simply not true and her demands for a financial settlement are outrageous.”

The University also seems to have made good on their contractual obligations with Rodriguez after he announced, “that the University of Arizona is buying out my contract.” Rodriquez was contracted with the team until May 31st, 2020 and the University has payed about $5.46 million to separate from the former head coach.

After coaching at Michigan for three seasons, Rodriquez left and joined the University of Arizona Wildcats and helped bring them four straight bowl game wins. This season however the Wildcats seems to be in decline as the team opened the season strong with 6 – 2 but then lost four of their five remaining games including the Holiday Bowl game against Purdue.

Rodriquez was 43 – 39 during his six seasons as head coach of the University of Arizona Wildcats.
