Lais Ribeiro is the 27-year-old Brazilian model who wore the $2 million bra at the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The bra, called the “Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra” is made out of diamonds, yellow sapphires and blue topaz. The bra weighs in at over 600 carats and took about 350 hours to craft.

Ribeiro’s story is an inspiring one, as she did not decide to become a model until after the birth of her son Alexandre. Following her son’s birth, Lais gave in to a friend’s advice and started working as a model in her native Brazil.

In 2009, Ribeiro walked the major international catwalks for such designers as Shiatzy Chen, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, and Marc Jacobs. During the fashion week of Brazil for the spring/summer 2011 collections, Ribeiro was the most booked runway model with 27 shows during São Paulo Fashion Week and 26 shows during Rio Fashion Week.

The 2017 Victoria’s Secret fashion show was Ribeiro’s sixth time walking in the show, but her first wearing the fantasy bra.

South Korean media has claimed that North Korea has fired a ballistic missile.

Japan has also confirmed radio signals were picked up, adding that Tokyo is currently on alert. The United States military later confirmed this to be the case. Both Tokyo and Washington were placed on alert over the radio signals, with a test possibly happening in the next few days.

South Korean and American authorities will work together to assess the missile’s trajectory; it is possible that the missile flew over Japan like other missiles had done this year, although it is unconfirmed at this time.

The 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion show, which took place in Shanghai on Monday, November 20, and airs tonight in the United States on Tuesday, November 28, can be seen on CBS at 10 PM EST.

The annual fashion show will feature performances by Jane Zhang, Harry Styles, Miguel, Leslie Odom Jr., and Yundi Li. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is most-watched fashion event of the year with 800 million people tuning in annually. Last year’s “sexiest night on television” had approximately 1.4 billion views. The show costs with around $12 million to put together, 12 times the cost of a regular runway fashion show, which costs approximately $1 million.

Both Gigi Hadid and Katy Perry, who were both scheduled to walk and perform respectively, were both pulled from the show due to visa issues. Furthermore, Russian models Irina Sharipova, Julia Belyakova, Kate Grigorieva, and Ukrainian model Dasha Khlystu were also forced to drop out of the show after reportedly being denied visas. The show itself even had a couple gaffes, as Chinese model Ming Xi slipped as she was walking the runway.

The 2017 show will also be Alessandra Ambrosio’s final walk of her VS runway career, as she will be retiring after 17 total Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show appearances. Karlie Kloss will also be returning to the catwalk after a two-year hiatus.

Merging fashion, fantasy and entertainment, the lingerie runway show will include pink carpet interviews, model profiles, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the show and musical performances from Harry Styles, Miguel, Jane Zhang, Leslie Odom Jr. and Yundi Li.

The all-star line-up of Victoria’s Secret Angels will include returning favorites Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Elsa Hosk, Jasmine Tookes, Josephine Skriver, Lais Ribeiro, Martha Hunt, Romee Strijd, Sara Sampaio, Stella Maxwell and Taylor Hill, as well as new faces.

Matt Lauer, best known as the anchor of NBC’s The Today Show, was fired from his position on Wednesday, November 29, after allegations of sexual misconduct in the workplace. The alleged incident dates back to the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

Lauer, a graduate of the Scripps College of Communication, School of Media Arts and Studies of Ohio University who was in the television business for almost 40 years, has interviewed the likes of British royalty, Hollywood stars, Olympic athletes, and world leaders such as Vladimir Putin.

Lauer, who joined The Today Show as a full-time news anchor in January 1994, appeared on the program for 23 years until his 2017 dismissal.

Matt Lauer was born on December 30, 1957 in New York City.

Lauer graduated from the Scripps College of Communication, School of Media Arts and Studies of Ohio University. In 1997, he received his undergraduate degree from Ohio University at the age of 39. He had previously dropped out of Ohio University in the Spring of 1979.

Lauer then began his television career in that year as a producer of the 12 O’clock News for WOWK-TV in Huntington, West Virginia. By 1980, he had become an on-air reporter on the 6 and 11 o’clock newscasts.

From 1989 to 1991, Lauer hosted a three-hour live interview program, WWOR-TV’s 9 Broadcast Plaza.

Lauer’s breakout year came in 1992, when he moved to WNBC-TV and became a co-anchor, alongside Jane Hanson, of the early weekday news show Today in New York. Thanks to the national TV exposure WNBC gave Lauer, an opportunity to fill in as a substitute for Margaret Larson on The Today Show.

NBC asked Lauer to become the full-time news anchor for The Today Show in 1994. Soon after, Lauer became the co-host of Weekend Today and worked as the co-anchor for Ann Curry on NBC’s NBC News at Sunrise. In addition to being a part of the NBC Nightly News, he also hosted content for the Discovery Channel and HBO.

When Matt Lauer’s contract with The Today Show came up for renewal in 2012, NBC was eager to make him stay. Following the speculation that Lauer would leave the show in the wake of the storm over the brutal departure of co-host Ann Curry, NBC offered Lauer a whopping $28 million salary. NBC also paid for Lauer to chopper out to the Hamptons, several times a week, where he lives year-round with his wife, Annette Roque and their children.

On November 30, 2016, Lauer signed a new contract with NBC through 2018 that would pay him $25 million annually.
