Jill Lamontagne, a 29-year-old married teacher in Maine, has turned herself in after being accused of sleeping with a student. Lamontagne was indicted on Tuesday, October 3, on a number of sexual assault charges.

Lamontagne, 29, turned herself into authorities after she was indicted by a York County Grand Jury on six counts of gross sexual assault, two counts of unlawful sexual contact and six counts of abuse of a minor.

Allegedly, Lamontagne had a relationship with a 17-year-old male student who was in her health class at Kennebunk High School at the time of sexual contact.

According to a court document, the relationship between the teacher and boy was revealed when he was hospitalized following a suspected suicide attempt. The Portland Press Herald reports that the unidentified student ingested a concoction of ibuprofen, Tylenol, cold medicine and blood thinner Warfarin.

The teen allegedly disclosed the relationship to his aunt a day after his hospitalization, telling her that he and Lamontagne had sexual contact “numerous times, in the classroom, at her house, in her car.” The student said Lamontagne performed oral sex on him, adding that “other stuff happened.” The student also allegedly told his mother and a nurse at the hospital that he loved his teacher and took the mixture of medicines to attempt suicide

Lamontagne was placed on administrative leave June 12 when the family of a 17-year-old student notified school authorities he had sexual contact with her, RSU 21 Superintendent Katie Hawes said in June.

Shortly after she was placed on leave, Lamontagne filed for family medical leave with the district. Family medical leave laws allow an employee to take 12 weeks of leave during a 12-month period with supporting documentation provided by a doctor.

Lamontagne was still on leave when she tendered her resignation in early September, Hawes said. She did not return to the classroom this school year. Details of the alleged relationship were disclosed in a protection from abuse order filed in Biddeford District Court by the student’s mother on the boy’s behalf.

The family sought the protection order two days after Lamontagne was placed on leave. It described how a sudden hospitalization for a suspected suicide attempt led the student to reveal the relationship to a family member, a registered nurse and a psychiatrist.

Lamontagne, a graduate of Kennebunk High School, received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Maine and her master’s degree from the University of New England.

She was released on $1,000 bail from the police station, denies the allegations and plans to plead not-guilty when she is arraigned on December 22.

A Clemson University football player was rescued by his teammates after his car crashed 100 feet down a ravine after practice.

Clary Miles, a student-athlete at Clemson University, had just left practice around 6:20pm on Tuesday, October 3, when his car slid down an embankment off of Perimeter Road in South Carolina.

Miles’ teammates, who were about 300 yards from the scene of the accident, immediately rushed over to provide aid. Miles and his car fell approximately 100 feet down the hill, coming to rest about 20 feet from the Seneca River that surrounds the Clemson football practice fields.

Upon hearing the accident, all Clemson players, coaches, and personnel rushed to the scene. According to Clemson, student managers Jack Wardlaw and Jack Sari, student athletic trainers Scott Crothers and Bailey Black, student coach Daniel Boyd and student videographer Eric Suttles, all swam across the river to reach Miles. Boyd and Suttles are military veterans.

Student athletic trainers Rachel Alterio and Ana Wright also went to the scene to provide help in removing Miles from the car and onto land. The students stayed with Miles until EMS personnel arrived.

Coach Dabo Swinney gathered his team in prayer while the students removed Miles from the car and the team remained at the scene until an ambulance took him to the hospital.

Miles is a Clemson freshman student worker in the school’s football office. A Daniel High School graduate and classmate of Clemson receiver Will Swinney, Miles played on the summer little league baseball team that Swinney coaches.

Miles, who is recovering from his injuries in a hospital, released a statement:

“I want to tell everyone how grateful we are to everyone associated with the Clemson football program that helped my son. I am especially grateful for those trainers and managers and others who swam to help Clary and get him out of the car. Thomas Austin (graduate assistant coach) rode in the ambulance with him to the hospital and that was so comforting. I am just so glad my son is alive.”

Miles is expected to make a full recovery.

The Springfield School District is responding to bomb threat at 4 schools: Lanphier High School, Franklin Middle School, Southeast High School & Springfield High School. All of the schools have been evacuated.

According to local reporter Matt Loveless, Franklin Middle School has been evacuated to Southside Christian Church, Southeast High School has been brought to Abundant Faith Church, Lanphier HS was evacuated to Caritas Hall, and Springfield HS students were relocated to Westminster Presbyterian.

Fire and police crews have responded to the scenes.

The Springfield School District released an official statement, saying the threats began via phone calls around 8:40 AM. All of the students and staff are safe.

All of the faculty and students are safe and will return to school upon giving the all-clear from police.

District 186 is asking parents to allow students to remain at evacuation sites at this time. They will hold a joint press briefing with Springfield Police Department today at noon local time.

His enigmatic role as a likeable rogue in the film heightened his profile in Hollywood. The sequels, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, propelled Ford to become one of Hollywood’s newest stars.

In the same era, he appeared in several other films and rocked the box office, taking on a role from the high-profile Steven Spielberg. His role in Indiana Jones as the resourceful archaeologist amplified Harrison’s presence in Hollywood. He strengthened his career with a role in Blade Runner, which was directed by Ridley Scott.

1985 – Present

2017 might not be over yet, but the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame already has nominations set for its Class of 2018. A Dallas fraternity has been shut down over accusations they forced pledges to eat hot peppers and milk until they were sick and wear vomit-covered clothes.

The Beta Lambda chapter of Kappa Alpha Order Southern Methodist University has been shut down amid accusations of hazing incidents, such as forcing pledges to eat hot peppers, drink milk, and wear vomit-covered clothes. Kappa Alpha Order is also accused of paddling its members.

According to a letter sent out by SMU, the university’s Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards conducted an investigation after it received reports of hazing during the spring 2017 semester. The school’s investigation also found evidence that the chapter forced pledges to consume alcohol and act as their “slaves” (reminder: pledges are allowed to quit, slaves aren’t)

SMU investigators also found evidence that the fraternity forced pledges to participate in calisthenics, deprived them of sleep and made them eat foods such as jalapenos, habaneros, red onions and milk until they vomited.

“Kappa Alpha Order has suspended our chapter at Southern Methodist University, in cooperation with SMU administration, due to violations of our risk management policies,” said Jesse S. Lyons of the fraternity’s national organization in a written statement. “We have an agreement with SMU to return to campus in 2021.”

The chapter can no longer host events at its house in the 3000 block of SMU Boulevard, and all belongings must be removed by 3 p.m. Saturday, SMU said in the letter. Sophomores living in the house will be reassigned space in the residence halls.

The chapter will be allowed to recruit upper-class students beginning in the fall 2021 semester, and first-year students in the spring 2022 semester, the university stated.

This is not the first time this fraternity has been in trouble, as it was suspended in 2009 for serving alcohol to minors.

For more than three weeks, the jury of nine women and three men heard testimony and arguments, and saw evidence, before coming to their decision.

In 2014, Sabrina’s former husband, Robert Limon was shot at an industrial complex in Tehachapi. He was employed as a railroad worker at the time.

Jonathan Hearn, 25, admittedly pulled the triggered and killed Robert Limon. Hearn was said to be having an affair with Sabrina. During the trial, Hearn said that she was equally guilty.

The 25-year-old was employed as a Redlands firefighter/paramedic.

Hearn agreed to take a plea deal, promising to testify against Sabrina for a reduced sentence and a reduction in his charges. He did, in fact, testify against Sabrina on the fourth day of her trial.

Court filings documented thousands of texts between Sabrina and Hearn, including one from Hearn indicating that they could be together if her husband wasn’t around.

In January 2017, Sabrina was arrested in the murder of Robert Limon.

During the trial, Sabrina claimed that Hearn charmed and manipulated her, and indicated that she was a victim herself.

She testified, “He made me feel comforted, he made me feel like he was going to take care of, help take care of me.”

Sabrina met Hearn back in 2012, when she was 32 and he was 22-years-old. She claims that her relationship with her husband took a turn for the worst once they became swingers.

On the stand he said, “It was inevitable that Rob needed to die for Sabrina and I to move forward with our relationship.”

Sabrina claimed that Hearn was controlling and had attempted to persuade her that he didn’t kill her husband.

She testified, “He would tell me our affair was something that could be dangerous if found out in an investigation.”

Her lawyers argued no wrong doing on the part of their client, stating that there is no evidence linking her to the murder, and likened her to a grieving widow.

“I was just clinging to that, my spiritual feeling at the time and I clung to Jonathan,” said Sabrina.

On Thursday, October 5, 2017, jurors found her guilty of first degree murder, soliciting to commit murder, conspiring, and accessory.

With an 162 game season in the books, the MLB playoffs are finally upon us. The first official playoff game, excluding the two wild card games, is an ALDS contest between the Boston Red Sox and the Houston Astros. Both teams won their respective divisions and look poised to make a deep playoff run culminating in a World Series trophy.

For game one of the series, both teams will be using their pitching ace in what should make for an extremely close and low scoring contest. The Red Sox have already announced that American League Cy Young contender Chris Sale will be starting this game. This season, Sale has a record of 17-8 with an earned run average of 2.90 and over 300 strikeouts. Sale has been dominant for the majority of the season but has recently struggled in his last few starts. In his last seven decisions of the season, Sale has only won three of them in comparison to his four losses. If the Red Sox plan on winning this pivotal game one on the road, Sale will need to return to his Cy Young form and shut down this potent Houston offense.

The Astros will counter Chris Sale by sending out playoff veteran Justin Verlander. Verlander was acquired by Houston mid-season to help fortify their starting rotation and Verlander has definitely succeeded thus far. Since joining the Astros, Verlander has won all five of his starts and has an earned run average of 1.06. Verlander has been practically unbeatable during his short tenure in Houston and the Red Sox stand no chance against him if he continues to pitch like this.

As for the lineups, I have to side with Houston. Houston’s lineup is full of young talent that possess ridiculous talent. The offense has the perfect blend of speed and power. Led by American League MVP candidate Jose Altuve, this team has the ability to score runs in bunches and overpower opposing teams. Altuve, in particular, had 24 home runs and 81 runs batted in while having a ridiculous .346 batting average. Joining him is teammate George Springer who hit 34 home runs this season and is now the leadoff hitter for the Astros. The Red Sox do have several great hitters on the team like Dustin Pedroia and Rafael Devers but the Red Sox have struggled hitting home runs all year which could pose as a serious problem when facing an offensive juggernaut like the Astros. Without the ability to score runs with one swing of the bat, the Red Sox are already at a major disadvantage.

As for predictions, I have to side with the home team. The Astros won 48 of their 81 games at home and have, arguably, the hottest pitcher in baseball on the mound. Meanwhile, Sale has struggled of late and has to face an extremely deep and talented lineup. I expect Sale to struggle a bit while Verlander coasts against this underwhelming lineup from Boston.

As for score, I will take the Astros by a score of 5-1.

After a student at Michigan State alerted police to a “noose” found outside of her form, a police investigation concluded that it was merely another student’s shoelace.

The unnamed student at Michigan State University caused campus police to conduct an investigation on Wednesday after reporting that she found a noose outside her dorm room, which ultimately turned out to be a shoelace that a neighboring student had misplaced.

MSU spokesman Jason Cody released a statement on the incident, saying that “the matching packaged shoelace was found outside of the residence hall” and that  “MSU Police have determined the object was a packaged leather shoelace and not a noose.”

According to Cody, campus police tracked down and interviewed the student who lost the shoelaces, which were packaged in a way that someone could “perceive them to look similar to a noose.”

During the investigation, MSU President Lou Ann Simon issued a strongly-worded statement saying she was ‘distressed’ to learn of the ‘racial incident’ and commended the student who made the original report for her courage.

“I want to be clear: This type of behavior is not tolerated on our campus,” Simon stated. “No Spartan should ever feel targeted based on their race, or other ways in which they identify. A noose is a symbol of intimidation and threat that has a horrendous history in America.”

After it was determined that the object at the center of the case was, in fact, a shoelace, the MSU spokesperson sought to defend the university’s initial response.

Multiple people were shot and killed in Casa Grande, Arizona, on Thursday morning. Police are currently responding to the quadruple homicide on 400 block of W. 13th Street. At least four people were gunned down today in Casa Grande.

The person of interest in the shooting has been apprehended by police. There is no active shooting. The motive of today’s quadruple homicide is unknown.

Schools in the area have been placed on lockdown as a precaution.

The city of Casa Grande is located in Pinal County, between Tucson and Phoenix. Casa Grande is located roughly 300 miles away from the scene of the bloody Las Vegas shooting on Sunday.

The shooting took place Thursday morning on 400 block of W. 13th Street in Casa Grande, Arizona.

All these years, the rap about Harrison Ford has been that he’s an old, grumpy curmudgeon. Little did we know all he needed was a jolly British television host to break him down.

Appearing on This Morning, the British version of a Today Show-esque morning variety show, Ford and Gosling sat down with absolute riot Alison Hammond to discuss their upcoming sci-fi hit Blade Runner 2049. At least they tried to discuss it, as the interview immediately went off the rails as Hammond admits that she’s never even seen the original Blade Runner.

From there, it’s just one of those interviews where no one can stop laughing. We’ve all been there as kids — when you and your friend can’t stop giggling — this is one of those moments, and its all thanks to Allison Hammond’s genuine humor, honesty, and warmth.

I mean, seriously, who wouldn’t want to have a conversation with this woman?  Just look at the reaction she got out of Harrison Ford, I don’t the dude has smiled like that since 1984.

Game Of Thrones eighth and final season begins this month (the cast’s first table read is on October 9!), meaning the long, dark night that is a Game Of Thrones-less world is heading our way, but not before we get 6 final episodes of Westerosi excellence.

Sure, the final season of the world’s biggest show will only consist of six episodes, BUT, those six episodes are rumored to each be feature length, and each cost upwards of $15 million dollars. Not only that, but we now know who will be directing those final six episodes, and let me tell you, it is the murderer’s row of Thrones directors.

That’s the good news.

The bad news is that it’s going to take quite the long time until the eighth and final season is in our hands.

In previous seasons, Game of Thrones set up shop in Ireland, Croatia, Morocco, Spain, and Iceland, among other real-world destinations standing in for Westeros and beyond. But now that most of the main characters are together, and there’s no need to film North of the Wall now that the White Walkers have broken on through to the other side (“Hold the door”? More like, “Hold the Doors”), shooting will slow down. Filming simultaneously is impossible.

The rumor is that it will take 10 months to film season eight, or almost twice as long as normal.

Speaking at Comic-Con Stockholm, Iain Glen, the actor who plays Ser Friendzone Lord of the Cuck Ser Jorah Mormont, Glen says that the biggest factor in how long production will take is location.

“We’re all starting to occupy the same territory. We’re all starting to be in the same storylines and so they can’t [have two filming units] anymore,” Glen explained. “I think this last season will take much longer to shoot because they can only use one unit because we’re all in the same sort of scenes.”

Based on all this information, it’s becoming likelier and likelier that the final season of Game Of Thrones won’t air until 2019, which is a huge deal, because at the rate this world is going, we may not even make it that long.

The shooting occurred on Sunday at around 10 P.M. when suspected mass shooter 64-year-old Stephan Paddock opened fire from his room on the 32nd floor of a Mandalay Bay hotel, across the street from the concert. He fired down upon the crowd below, causing 59 deaths and 527 injuries. Authorities are still investigating the motive in the shooting, and are still clueless as to why someone would commit such a murderous act.

Who was Rocio Guillen Rocha?

Rocio Guillen Rocha was a 40-year-old mother of four from Eastvale, California. She reportedly loved kids, country music, and running. She was described as being a “super mom.”

“She loved sports and being a supporting baseball mom,” her cousin, Vanessa Rocha, wrote on a Go Fund Me page. “Her greatest accomplishment was being a mother, as she would always say.”

The 40-year-old now-deceased mother of four grew up in Anaheim and graduated from Katella High School in 1995.

Max Ramirez, a friend of Rocio said, “She was a hard-working mom who loved all her children and family.”

Rocha worked as an assistant manager at a California Pizza Kitchen in Santa Ana, but she away on maternity leave after giving birth to her fourth child.

She has been working at that pizza restaurant since 2014. The company and coworkers are still grieving over her death.

“She touched so many within our CPK family and beyond, and she will be deeply missed by all of us,” company CEO G.J. Hart said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Rocio’s family, as well as with the families of all those who have been affected by this senseless tragedy.”

Rocio was at the Route 91 Festival Harvest concert with her fiancé, Chris Jaksha, when the shooting began. She was shot and killed, along with 58 others at that country music event, late Sunday, October 1st.

Her son Marcus Guillen told NBC that he heard about the shooting while flying home from vacation. Right when he heard the news of the shooting, he immediately texted Jaksha, the father of his two youngest siblings and asked if his mother was alright. Marcus was informed that his mother was shot in the leg. He texted his mom, but received no response.

He said, “I texted her, ‘I love you. Are you OK?’ but she never texted back. I guess she didn’t have her phone on her.

After taking care of business at home by defeating the Minnesota Twins 8-4 in the AL Wildcard Game, Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees  (91-71) advance to take on the best team in the American League, the Cleveland Indians (102-60).

The surprisingly average New England Patriots (2-2) head down to Tampa Bay to take on Jameis Winston and the Buccaneers (2-1) for what is shaping up to be the best Thursday Night Football game of the season thus far.

Both teams have been scoring in bunches (the Patriots rank first in pass offense — the Bucs rank third), so expect a high scoring game.
