Joseph Michael Arpaio is an 85-year-old former American law enforcement officer who was the elected Sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona, from 1993 through 2016. Referring to himself as “America’s Toughest Sheriff”, Arpaio took an outspoken stance against illegal immigration. In 2010, he became a flashpoint for opposition to Arizona’s SB1070 anti-illegal immigrant law, which was largely struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court. Arpaio is also known for his investigation of former U.S. President Barack Obama’s birth certificate, and his continuing claim that it is forged.

Arpaio has been accused of various types of misconduct, including abuse of power; misuse of funds; failure to investigate sex crimes; improper clearance of cases; unlawful enforcement of immigration laws; and election law violations. A Federal court monitor was appointed to oversee his office’s operations because of complaints of racial profiling. The U.S. Department of Justice concluded that Arpaio oversaw the worst pattern of racial profiling in U.S. history and subsequently filed suit against him for unlawful discriminatory police conduct. However, newly-elected unhinged President Trump is teasing that he will be pardoning Arpaio.

In November 2016, Arpaio lost re-election to Democrat Paul Penzone, who succeeded him as sheriff on January 1, 2017.

I know the whole “times sure have changed since I was in BLANK” is quite a cliche, but really, times sure have f*cking changed since I was in school.

If this happened when I was in high school, the entire class would stand up and straight mob on the asshole assaulting our teacher. While I’m aware that not everyone grew up as privileged as I did, I had some AMAZING teachers, and I’ll be damned if some little ungrateful shit of a student is going to lay hands on them.

A student from South Divison says the man is well known among kids.

“He is kind of like helper,” said Gustavo Miramontes, 17. “He mostly just like if a kid has a question he will help them out if they are struggling or something.”

Milwaukee police said the student was arrested at school. Milwaukee Public Schools would not comment further on what happened citing because it is a police matter.

However, parents say this should not have happened on school grounds to a teacher. Police say the case against the teen should be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office soon for possible charges of battery to a school district official.

Because the kid is 16 he’ll probably skate by without any criminal charges, but hopefully, he has some street justice headed his way.

The Madden franchise returns this year for its 29TH(!!!) installment of the series with, Madden NFL 18. Developer EA Sports is laying all their cards on the table with this new installment and with the way things are panning out, this looks to be the best Madden yet.

With new gameplay modes, added online features, amazing graphics and a first for the series, fully acted and “choose your own adventure” type of story mode. All these new features are reinventing the Madden series to make Madden NFL 18 not only the the best football game ever but also the best sports game ever.

Online Play

EA Sports has announced that Madden NFL 18 will feature live weekly roster that will be constantly updated to resemble the real world football season. This way, die-hard fans can relive this upcoming season their way!

Also making its debut in Madden NFL 18 are MUT Squads, a new way to use the Madden Ultimate Team in 3 vs. 3 online matches. Use your collected players from Ultimate Team and use them with your two other friends to play another team of three on the field.

Online matchmaking and competitive play will also be making its return in Madden NFL 18.

Longshot

Forgoing a “traditional” Madden career mode, EA Sports tried to do something special by making the Madden series’ first official story mode, “Longshot”. Telling the story of Devin Wade, a former five star high school quarter back, who returns to the game after three years for one last shot at hearing his name called for the NFL Draft.

Featuring a stand out cast, including Moonlight‘s Mahershala Ali and Friday Nights Lights‘ Scott Porter, in fully motion captured CGI, “Longshot” redefines everything we thought we know about the Madden series. Featuring a “choose your own adventure” style of game play, players can lead Devin through the story with choices that do hold an effect on how others see Devin in the world and his stats on the field. Your choices will either lead Devin to fame and fortune or to become a national disgrace.

The last major summer gaming event has come and gone. Gamescom, Germany’s annual video game trade fair, was packed with exciting games and announcements, including the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition, launching on November 7.

Now it’s time to put down the controller and return to school … Nah, just kidding. We all know you have your console and a crappy 30-inch TV all packed and ready for your dorm.

Interested in copping new games this fall? We’ve got some suggestions for you, divided by platform — PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.

But that’s not all to look forward to in the coming season. Next month is the return of another annual expo: Tokyo Game Show, Japan’s largest gaming event that garners massive worldwide attention. TGS last year housed 345 exhibitors from 36 countries, with the number of oversea exhibitors exceeding domestic.

That information has not been confirmed. But assuming that Mac4Ever’s rumors are correct about the date of September 12th for the event then you can expect the pre-order date later that week, more specifically Friday, September 15th. The rumored release date has been set for the following Friday, September 22nd.

Previous reports cited alleged supply constraints and predicted the iPhone to be released as late as October. Now, the belief is that the new iPhone will hit shelves this September, but in very limited quantities.

The upcoming Apple event will also feature a new third-generation Apple Watch with cellular LTE radios, and a 4K Apple TV update. This iPhone 8 shindig could be the very first event held inside the new Steve Jobs theater in Apple Park. However, the theater is still undergoing construction.

The first person to approach Alex Jones in his newest video compilation is a woman in a burgundy-colored blouse. Jones shows her two news articles suggesting that “the economy was going to implode.” She ignores the newspapers and responds by telling him his show is terrible and that he’s nothing but a conspiracy theorist. In an earlier video, she cited a conspiracy theory he said about the government using chemtrails to make frogs gay. But Infowars cut that part out of this video.

People flip off Jones left and right. One person who flipped him off really got under his skin. Jones chased after the man, and followed him down the street, calling him a “coward.”

“You’re not an intellectual, you’re a fake, you’re a fraud,” says Jones before chasing after a man who keeps flipping him off. Both guys get into a “f*ck you” and “go fuck yourself” trade off.

Alex Jones confronted a guy who yelled “you’re trash” at him. Jones wanted this man to “tell people intellectually who you are?” The man responds by saying “yo ‘mama.” Jones calls this man “a literal slave of the system,” which provokes the globalist man-goblin to throw coffee all over the head of the incomparable Alex Jones.

The Alex Jones YouTube page claims that the host had boiling hot coffee thrown on him. But Jones barely flinches when the liquid is poured on him. It’s either he has nerves of steel or that coffee was lukewarm. I’m assuming both…

I’ll jump ahead to 3:30 when a big, tall liberal questions what is Alex Jones doing here. Jones responds by saying this is “America,” but this dude insists that you’re in Seattle like he doesn’t already know that. The white knight of censorship wants to know the purpose of Jones in Seattle, by which the host responds by saying, “I’m just here showing the hardcore fascist, brain-washing that the corporate media and the big banks have done to the people. How they continue to think they’re liberal, but turn them into fascists.”

The white knight looks absolutely crushed mid-way through Jones’ monologue, and tells him “good luck with that” and turns around.

Alex Jones is adorable, just a big, red-blooded man-baby. He may be a conspiracy theorist wack-o sometimes, but hey, maybe he’s onto something with this…

Upon her arrival to NXT in 2015, Asuka was welcomed to the brand like a returning hero. She quickly rose through the ranks, winning the NXT Women’s Championship by defeating Bayley at NXT TakeOver: Dallas 2016.

Asuka’s so good that Triple H doesn’t even want her to leave NXT. In an interview for  For The Win, he revealed just how important Asuka is to the NXT brand.

“I would never want to limit someone’s growth or their opportunities, but when Vince brought it up to me, I said the one person who we can’t afford to lose is Asuka. You could take everybody else you want to take – and trust me, he did – but I need her as an anchor. If I lose her and everybody else, I’m doomed.”

Triple H knew when WWE got a hold of Asuka, they had latched onto someone special. He immediately felt that she could “change the game” on both NXT and the main event, perhaps even the sport of professional wrestling.

“When we signed her, it made everybody already inside look at who we were bringing in and they were seeing what I was seeing – this girl is going to change the game. She’s changed the main roster too and how the girls work and that intensity level.”

Asuka is doing great! She’s strong, talented, accomplished and pretty damn hot too.

High school can be pretty lame, full of dumb followers and the teachers who admired their popularity. But all because someone in school has a bunch of friends doesn’t make that person happy. Perhaps, their search for status and short term rewards is a way to fill up their own hole of sadness. One study revealed that it was students who only had a few close friends who were more likely to be happy rather than those popular punks.

What is this study telling us? Basically, quality matters over quantity. It doesn’t matter how many friends you have. It matters who you have as friends and how close those people are to you. Even one good friend is better than a flock of sheep that will scatter at the first sign of a wolf.

The University of Virginia conducted the study over a 10-year period. They followed 169 high school students, all starting at age 15, and from diverse racial and economic backgrounds. During this 10-year period, each subject was asked in-depth questions on their social anxiety level, social acceptance, and self worth. Researchers were trying to identify symptoms of depression within their subjects.

This study was published in the bimonthly peer reviewed academic journal Child Development. The results revealed a correlation between adolescent friendships and long-term mental health. Another discovery was that popularity did not guarantee happiness. Researchers based their subject’s popularity level on asking them to list their top ten peers from top to bottom, regarding who they would want to spend free time with.

Results of the study revealed that subjects who were ranked “most liked” were not happier than students who were considered “unpopular.” Achieving long term happiness was much more consistent with maintaining close friendships for long periods of time.

“Youth with higher levels of attachment to their best friends appear to have better psychological health, psychosocial adjustment, and even a more adaptive stress response during adolescence,” the study authors said. “In general, adolescents with high-quality close friendships report higher rates of overall happiness than those without.”

Teens who put an emphasis on “gaining or maintaining their peer affiliation preference rather than focusing on forming stronger close friendships” did not fare as well in the long-term. The authors said those teens may be have been more focused on status and short-term rewards or relationships, which do not have the same positive long-term emotional benefits as being in a reciprocal, positive friendship.

Welp, that settles it. Don’t be upset, kiddo. The well-liked students who were ultimate jerks are probably miserable f*cks as we speak/type. A few close buddies is much better than a gang of lackeys who will turn on you in an instant.

A Republican student association at San Diego State University is facing backlash for sending a letter demanding Muslim students condemn last week’s terror attacks in Barcelona.

The Republican Club at San Diego State University wrote to the Muslim Student Association, claiming that the campus community could not move forward creating ‘an inclusive environment for all students’ until radical terrorism was “disavowed”.

The letter said if no condemnation was forthcoming, the leaders of the student group should be forced to resign.

The letter, signed by SDSU College Republicans Chairman Brandon Jones, stated in part that “until radical Islamic terrorism is disavowed by the Muslim Student Organization at SDSU, we cannot move forward in creating an inclusive environment for all students on campus.” It added the Muslim Student Association’s leadership should resign if they do not disavow Islamic terrorism.

The national Muslim Student Association expressed support for the San Diego State chapter for “their solidarity, strength and perseverance in the face of ignorance and hate.”

The Young Democratic Socialists of SDSU responded by declaring: “We condemn the San Diego State College Republicans’ disgraceful statement towards the SDSU Muslim Student Association and the SDSU Muslim community. Retract and apologize now.”

The Transfronterizo Alliance Student Organization, which describes itself as working to create an “inclusive campus environment for SDSU students who live a transborder lifestyle,” joined the chorus.

Rapper Joey Bada$$ bragged on Twitter that he was looking at the eclipse without glasses — despite NASA’s warnings not to do so — and then announced he was canceling shows due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

It is unclear if the 22-year-old injured his eyes from looking up at the sun, but several people have reported eye problems after looking at the eclipse without glasses.

A rep for Bada$$ did not respond to a Daily News request for comment. The “95 Til Infinity” singer didn’t address the reasoning any further than the “unforeseen” circumstances but retweeted several reports about the cancellation being linked to the eclipse.

Warner. Bros just loves f*cking up, don’t they? Despite the fact that Jared Leto’s portrayal of the Joker was almost universally panned, the studio seems dead set on moving forward with the character anyway, not only featuring him in Suicide Squad 2, but also developing a standalone movie for him and Harley Quinn.

The untitled Joker/Harley Quinn project is being helmed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, directors and executive producers of the hit NBC drama This Is Us and who also wrote and helmed the 2011 film Crazy, Stupid, Love.

The film is described as a “criminal love story,” according to one source, featuring the two murdering maniacs who are cornerstones in the Batman mythos. One insider offered this: “an insane and twisted love story. When Harry Met Sally on benzedrine.”

Additionally, the project falls within Warners’ main line of movies based on their DC properties. That includes the current pics released and in production that feature Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, among other characters who collectively form the Justice League.

Tim Duncan is universally recognized as the greatest Power Forward in NBA History. Averaging 19 points and 10.8 rebounds for his 19 year career, Duncan proved to be a major force. Being one of the core three players for the San Antonio Spurs helped the team win 5 NBA championships.

6. Kevin Durant-Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors

Now I know some of you may be puzzled or angered by the fact that Kevin Durant’s name is anywhere near a top 10 discussion. However, the following question may put things in a different light. Who else in NBA history can score like Kevin Durant? Kevin Durant’s MVP season he put up ridiculous numbers. He averaged 32 points on just 20.8 shots. His field goal for his career is 48.8% and shoots 87.3% from the free-throw line. What isn’t top 10 about Kevin Durant?

5. Shaquille O’Neal- Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics

Shaq, Diesel, The Big Aristotle, Shaq Daddy, whatever nickname you decided to use was appropriate to describe how dominating Shaquille O’Neal was. For his 18 year career, he averaged 23.7 points pregame and 10.9 rebounds. He also was a dominating force in the paint defensively as he averaged 2.3 blocks per game.

4. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar- Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers

Kareem Abdul Jabbar is currently the leading scorer in NBA History. Abdul-Jabbar has 38,387 points for his total career. With his unstoppable move, the sky hook, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar left defenders in a daze. Averaging 24.6 points and 11.2 rebounds, Kareem was simply a specimen to watch.

3. Earvin “Magic” Johnson- Los Angeles Lakers

Magic Johnson is considered the best point guard of all time. Standing 6’9″, teams had to strategize how to guard a point guard who is the size of a center. Magic Johnson was an outstanding distributor of the basketball. He averaged 11.2 assists for his career and averaged 19.5 points per game.

2. Michael Jordan-Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards

Here is where a lot of people may go crazy. “Michael Jordan went six for six in the finals! How could he be anywhere other than number 1?” Yes, Michael Jordan did receive great achievements in the NBA. He won six NBA championships with six Finals MVP’s. But I am not debating the legacy of these players. I am debating strictly skill. Michael Jordan as an individual player was dynamic. He was the first player in NBA to be considered truly “unguardable”. He averaged 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists a game for his career. Michael Jordan was ferocious and intimidated opponents.

1. LeBron James- Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat

Now here me out…skill wise, what can’t LeBron James do? James can play point guard, he can defend, he can shoot, he can rebound, he can be a leader on and off the court, he is one of the most durable players in NBA History, etc. There is so much to LeBron James’ arsenal that it doesn’t end. For LeBron James’ career, he averages 27.1 points, 7.3 total rebounds and 7 assists a game. Not only is he a stat sheet stuffer in the regular season, but he also performs amazingly in the playoffs. Despite the Dallas Maverick series in 2011, LeBron James was the best player on the floor for every other NBA Finals.
