John Cena found out exactly why the crowd loves Shinsuke Nakamura so much. It’s because that dude hits hard. Cena builds up Nakamura some more, but Baron Corbin’s music hits, interrupting the multi-time former champion.

Corbin talks some serious sh*t to Cena. He thinks John should be talking about him instead of Nakamura. Corbin claims to be “the future.” Cena calls Corbin “a fat-skinny, dumpster fire.” Cena points to a sign in the crowd, which also calls Corbin a “dumpster fire.”

Baron Corbin wants nothing of Cena. Corbin says he has nothing to prove. Out comes SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan. He makes a match for SummerSlam between John Cena and Baron Corbin. The crowd chants “YES! YES! YES!”

The Usos vs. Tye Dillinger & Sami Zayn

Tye Dillinger squares off against Jimmy Uso to start off this match. Dillinger dominates Jimmy. Zayn gets the tag and tries to take out the Uso brother with a helluva kick, but Jey pulls Jimmy out of harm’s way.

The Usos dominate all throughout the commercial break. Dillinger tries turning the tide. Meanwhile, Zayn is taken out with a wicked superkick. Dillinger attempts a Tye Breaker, but gets kicked in the gut. Tye tries to fight back, but The Usos dominate this less than perfect 10.

KO and Styles are about to fight anyway. Shane gets in-between the two competitors. Owens throws a punch. Styles hits a Pele Kick on Shane by mistake. The crowd chants, “You screwed Shane!”

We see a per-taped, sit-down interview with Shinsuke Nakamura. Last week, he beat “the guy” 16-time world champion John Cena. At SummerSlam, he’ll knock off Jinder Mahal to become the new WWE World Champion.

Grudge Match: Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton

Jinder Mahal starts off this contest hot against Randy Orton. But Orton quickly fires back and turns the momentum. Orton is solidly in control. He removes equipment from the announcer’s table. He props Mahal up on the table for an RKO, but Mahal pushes Randy off of him. Orton crashes over the barricade and into the timekeeper’s area.

Mahal is solidly in control when we return from the commercial break. Jinder charges towards Orton, but runs shoulder-first into the ring post. Mahal falls out of the ring and tries to hit Orton in the ring. Randy takes control and punishes Mahal. Orton props Jinder on the top rope and sends him flying across the ring with a superplex.

Orton and Mahal return to their feet. Randy strikes him several times. Orton hits clothesline after clothesline followed by a fall-away slam. The “king of the RKO” punches Jinder in the skull at the corner of the ring. Mahal manages to fight out, but gets caught with a scoop slam. Mahal tries to turn the tide, but eats an elbow from Orton. Jinder returns the favor with a running knee to Orton’s face. Mahal goes for the cover. 1…2…kick out!

Both men tangle. Mahal tries to turn the tide, but gets caught in a middle-rope DDT. Jinder recuperates and rolls up Orton. 1…2….kick out!

Charles K. Smith, a professor at San Antonio College in Texas, has begun wearing protective combat gear to classes he’s teaching in order to protest the state’s campus carry law.

Smith, who teaches geography at San Antonio College, went to his class wearing a camouflaged bulletproof vest and helmet because he says “he doesn’t feel safe” on the campus due to its carry laws.

Speaking to mySA.com, Smith said that the state’s campus carry laws makes him feel “uneasy that there are more firearms on campus than there should be.” Campus Carry became state law in 2015 and was officially implemented into Texas four-year universities in 2016 and in community colleges on August 1 of this year. The law allows individuals with a license to carry to carry a concealed handgun on college premises.

Smith has been with the school for 10 years and said he’s encountered the occasional fist fight, argument, and threat over grades. But never a gun.

“I realize students were carrying guns on campus illegally, but now it’s legal to do so. It increases the chances of something happening,” Smith said. “Used to, when they got mad at me, they had to go home to get the gun and had time to cool off, now they will have it with them.”

Smith said he’s also concerned for when an argument breaks out again and a person is armed.
“My assumption is that you will have more people carrying guns, that well lead to problems. It always has,” Smith said. “There is nothing on this planet worth a human life.”

Smith said before executing his plan, he ran it by police and administration beforehand.

You know how it goes, we’ve all been there — you’re drinking with a couple buddies, things get a little out of hands, and next thing you know you’re kidnapping newborn wildlife from its natural habitat to show it off at the local watering hole.

At least that’s how it went for this Arizona (congrats Florida, you’re not the father!) man, who snatched up a three-day old deer from the wild and into a bar to see if any of his bros wanted “to take it home.”

The Arizona Game and Fish Department, who was notified of the incident when customers at the bar reported the man to authorities, took possession of the deer fawn on Saturday. According to authorities, the young fawn is now forced to a life in captivity and is receiving around-the-clock treatment from animal experts.

“It’s very cute, but it’s one of the saddest stories we see … They found it and they decided to take it to a local bar in Salome and see if anybody else wanted to take it home,” said Kellie Tharp, Chief of Education at AZGFD.

It ended up in the hands of AZGFD officials — many with one question in mind.

“Who would take a deer fawn out of the wild and into the bar? I would say that is a new one, we hear a lot of things, but that definitely isn’t one that’s normal.”

Ripped from his mother in the wild and now a life of permanent captivity. AZGFD officials say the fawn needs round the clock care in order to survive.

“Now that the fawn’s been in our care, you see that it was being bottle fed, it’s being imprinted. It’s relying on humans, it doesn’t have a fear of humans so this fawn is non-releasable,” said Tharp.

According to AZGFD officials, the fawn will be transferred to Keepers of the Wild Nature Park near Kingman, Arizona.

Furthermore, the AZGFD is inviting the public to help name the fawn by visiting their Facebook or Instagram page.

Three players on the Western Kentucky Football team have pleaded guilty to their involvement in a fight at a fraternity house back in March. Quinton Baker, Xavier Lane, and Tyler Obee pleaded guilty to reduced charges of wanton endangerment and assault.

The fight happened at the WKU Pi Kappa Alpha house fraternity house back in March 2017. Campus police said that WKU football players attacked a former Pike member in retaliation for a previous fight.

All three have been sentenced to a year probation, in addition, they must complete 30 hours of community service and pay restitution to the victim for medical his expenses. According to WKU head coach Mike Sanford, the three players they will be suspended, however, he did not indicate how long or when the suspensions would be served.

NBC Wave 3 says that the cases of three other defendants are still pending. Andrew O’Bryan, 19, Jachour Pearson, 19, and Christopher Johnson, 21, who are due back in court on August 22, all face charges for the altercation.

The Western Kentucky football team indefinitely suspended six of the players after a grand jury indicted them in June on charges stemming from an altercation at the fraternity house. O’Bryan left the WKU football team during spring practices and tweeted in April that he would transfer to Eastern Kentucky University. Stallings is not listed on WKU’s 2017 roster.

The incident leading to the charges occurred in the early morning on March 5 after Bowling Green Police responded to reports of an assault at the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house, according to a police report obtained by the Courier-Journal.

A 21-year-old Pike member told police he called a 33-year-old alumnus to tell him that several football players were outside in the back of the house trying to fight, according to the report. The alumnus said he came to get the football players to leave peacefully. The fraternity member told police he saw the football players threaten the alumnus and then tackle him through the fence at the back of the house and begin punching and kicking him. The 21-year-old was injured when he stepped in to help defend the alumnus.

Beshear’s Special Prosecutions Unit is handling the case, and their next court date is scheduled for Aug 22.

Garces, 22, was charged with sexual battery and false imprisonment after he allegedly attacked a guest at the Alpha Tau Omega ‘New Years in July’ party.

The victim, whose gender and name have not been released, was allegedly approached by Garces during the July 22 party at the university’s Alpha Tau Omega fraternity house, where he asked them to come upstairs with him and another man.

Afterward, the unnamed victim told campus police that they were friends with Garces, so despite the fact that they did know the second man, they felt comfortable going upstairs. The second suspect’s name has also not been released because it is considered an active investigation. However, a warrant is out for his arrest.

When they entered the room, one of the men allegedly locked the door and began blasting music from a cellphone. Garces sat on the couch, forcefully pulled the victim’s legs toward him and started touching the person sexually, according to the report. He then grabbed the person’s hair, throwing him or her to the ground.

The victim performed oral sex on Garces, hoping it would stop the attack, police said. But Garces continued to be aggressive, according to WKMG.

“I’ve never seen you like this before, what’s going on?” The victim allegedly asked Garces. “I’ve been raped before, I’m not about to be in a situation like this…don’t do this to me.”

Garces eventually left the room, but the other man then allegedly raped the victim and put his hands around the individual’s throat and mouth to stop the screaming. The victim fled the party when the man abruptly left.

The victim reported the crime to the UCF Police Department on Friday, August 4. Police say that surveillance video from the party shows the victim outside of the fraternity house crying as several people attempt to console them.

Garces, who was arrested on Monday, August 7 at the fraternity house, remains in jail.

Alpha Tau Omega released an official statement on Tuesday, saying that they had suspended Garces and were looking into the matter:

“Officials with the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity learned of the police investigation on Saturday, and the chapter immediately suspended the man. ATO is conducting an internal investigation and will assist local authorities and university officials as requested. The alleged assault reportedly occurred during a July 22nd party at the chapter house. The party was approved by UCF and held in accordance to strict university guidelines.”

In 2013, UCF suspended Garces’ ATO fraternity due to alcohol-related misconduct and accusations of them holding an unapproved house party and serving alcohol to minors.

Quantasia Sharpton, one of three alleged victims of Usher, is the first person to come forward publicly and obtain a lawyer to go after Usher. Sharpton claims that Usher, born Usher Raymond, never told her that he had herpes before the pair had in sexual intercourse in 2015.

Sharpton’s attorney, Lisa Bloom, first announced that he will be filing a lawsuit on behalf of three people. Furthermore, Bloom said that the other two clients would remain nameless in the interest of privacy.

Sharpton, a 21-year-old who is also a mother of three, claims that her and Usher had sex following a concert of his. Sharpton claims she was selected from the crowd to go backstage before the show and meet Usher due to the birthday crown she was wearing. She says that later that night a security guard asked for her number because Usher was “interested” in her.

After the show, she says she got a call from a blocked number and it was Usher, asking her what hotel she was staying in and the room number. About an hour later, Sharpton says Usher arrived at her hotel and they had ‘sexual contact’. But after he left, she ‘never heard from him again’.

Sharpton said she was shocked last month to learn that Usher possibly has herpes. When Sharpton read about that case, she contacted high-profile attorney Lisa Bloom to see what her legal options were, even though she tested negative for the virus when she had a child last year.

While Sharpton doesn’t have the disease, at least one of the three clients that Bloom is representing say they caught the disease, and blame Usher for it. One of her clients is a man who said he had oral sex with the star with no warning about his STD. Sharpton says if she had known that Usher had herpes, she ‘would have never consented’ to sex with him.

However, according to TMZ, Usher has been telling his close circle that he did not sleep with Sharpton because she is not his type, via TMZ:

Quantasia Sharpton claims Usher picked her out of the audience at a concert, got her number, and went over to her hotel room where they had sex. She claims he didn’t tell her he allegedly had genital herpes.

Our sources say Usher told them he may have pulled her up onstage … he doesn’t remember, but he absolutely didn’t hook up with her. As for why he may have picked Sharpton out of the crowd and brought her onstage, the sources say Usher “looks to bring a diverse group of people up onstage, not just supermodels.”

One source says he believes it’s “an esteem booster” to choose various people Usher sees in the audience and single them out.

The lawsuit, which was filed by Bloom in California on Monday, August 7, says that even if Usher doesn’t have herpes, his conduct has still caused “severe emotional distress since he has allowed them to worry that he has exposed them to the virus.”

Furthermore, on Tuesday, August 8, New York Marine and General Insurance Company filed documents claiming they will not pay for the $20 million herpes lawsuit against Usher filed by a Jane Doe in Georgia.

However, one week prior to Sharpton’s public announcement, she uploaded a Facebook status reading “I need some money.” Sharpton’s attorney was forced to defend Sharpton’s Facebook post, claiming it had nothing to do with the lawsuit.

The 12-year-old, checking in at 5’2″ 220lbs (50 pounds more than me, and I’m 12 years his senior), stole the hearts and minds of the masses on Monday night when he swaggered up the plate during Tennessee’s Little League regional championship game against a South Carolina team.

Powell is named after major leaguer Boog Powell, who was recently traded from the Oakland A’s to the Seattle Mariners.

Now, while young Boog may not have a future in the MLB, that doesn’t mean he can’t swing the stick today, as he was able to drive in an RBI:

Look, I understand that not every American is a cartographer in their spare time, but Christ, you mean to tell me there are people out there who actually don’t know where the Koreas are? It’s because of people like this that our country finds itself in our current situation.

Michael Kadar, an 18-year-old Israeli-American teen, was charged in April with making bomb threats and active shooter threats to several Jewish Community Centers across the United States. According to recently disclosed court documents, Kadar allegedly provided an email service that would send bomb threats to schools through an online black market.

Kadar, 18, was charged in April with allegedly making 245 threats between January 4, 2017 and March 7, 2017 to various organizations around the United States. Organizations such as JCCs, other historical Jewish institutions, and Anti-Defamation League offices were victims to the threats.

According to Buzzfeed News, Kadar allegedly advertised what he called “Second Email Bomb Threat Service” on AlphaBay, a now closed Dark Web market. Kadar was charging $30 for a bomb threat emailed to a school, and for an additional $15, he also offered to frame someone else for the threat.

“There is no guarantee that the police will question or arrest the framed person,” Kadar allegedly wrote in the online ad. “I just add the persons [sic] name to the email. In addition in my experience of doing bomb threats putting someones [sic] name in the emailed threat will reduce the chance of the threat being successful. But it’s up to you if you would like me to frame someone.”

The search warrant was unsealed by a federal court on July 19 — a day before the Justice Department announced that AlphaBay was shut down — and was first tweeted by Seamus Hughes, the deputy director of the Program on Extremism at George Washington University, on Monday.

The search warrant was initially sealed because it was “relevant to an ongoing investigation into the criminal organizations as not all of the targets of this investigation will be searched at this time.”

While Kadar wrote that he is available most of the time to make bomb threat emails, he added that he has the right to “refuse to do the work.”

The report says that the alleged ad indicates that he had saved text for bomb-threat emails, but offered his clients the ability to customize the message if they wish. Furthermore, Kadar allegedly offered refunds if the threats were unsuccessful.

According to the report, Kadar’s profile on AlphaBay received a positive review from someone who appeared to use the service, claiming that Kadar was “on time and on target.”

The court documents do not make it clear how much people had purchased Kadar’s service.

These emotional Game Of Thrones edits always f*cking BODY me. I don’t know if it’s my love for the show or the quality of the edits (its both) but some of these mashups have me feeling more feels than the show itself.

I’ve always said that Jaime Lannister is the most complex person in a show known for its layered characters. Think about it for a second: Thrones has been able to turn a rich and handsome sibling-screwer who pushed a young boy out a window into one of the world’s favorite remaining characters. In fact, I found myself rooting for Jaime, Bronn & co during this weekend’s fiery battle — a total 180 from how much I despised him during season 1.

And as such a complex character, it’s only fitting that his reasons for charging at Dany and her dragon go far deeper than the fact that she’s simply on the other side of the battle.

For seven seasons now, Game Of Thrones has been peeling back the layers of the man who is introduced as a backstabbing Kingslayer. Throughout the years, Jaime has gone from one of the show’s primary villains to one of the most honorable men left in Westeros. So yes, while Jaime might want to killer Daenerys because she in the enemy of his love, his motivations go far deeper than that as Jaime has been fighting to against what Dany represents for most of his adult life.

Another week, another athlete facing some baby mama drama. The only difference this week is that it’s a former NBA athlete instead of an active one.

Amar’e Stoudemire, a former 6-time NBA All-Star who has been married since 2012, is being sued by Quynn Lovett, a Miami woman who claims he fathered a child with her in 2016.

According to Daily Mail, Quynn Lovett, 36, is asking a Florida judge to officially declare Stoudemire the biological father of her daughter Zoe Renee. Furthermore, Lovett requests permanent child support in addition to full custody of Zoe.

Stoudemire has admitted in his response to the complaint that he knows about Zoe and the possibility he is the father. A native of Massachusetts, Lovett claims in her complaint Stoudemire has not been involved with the child, has not visited and hasn’t paid any of her maternity bills, which she estimated to be around $11,000.

Stoudemire, 34, claims in court papers he has been giving the little girl’s mother a monthly stipend for the child and paid her legal bills. Calling her lawsuit ‘frivolous,’ the 6-foot-10 Florida native countered that he was ‘informed of his paternity several months after the child was born’ and has been paying Lovett ‘various amounts,’ including $22,500 in legal bills.

Stoudemire claims he established regular child support payments on Nov. 1, 2016 although the amount wasn’t revealed in the court papers. The file bears no details about Stoudemire’s relationship with Lovett.

Stoudemire, who currently plays for Hapoel Jerusalem of the Israeli Basketball Premier League, spent 14 years in the NBA, playing with the Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, and the Miami Heat.

Amar’e and his wife Alexis Welch began dating in 2002 and got married in 2012. They currently have four children together.

In today’s edition of “Why you should never step foot in a McDonald’s”, we have an absolute crazy person going all Jersey Shore on the hardworking employees of an El-Paso Mickey Dee’s.

According to Alfredo Sanchez, the brave soul (lol) who recorded the altercation (but didn’t intervene) on his phone said the hardo fest happened at the McDonald’s on Montana and George Dieter in El Paso around 11:30 PM on August 6.

Apparently, this bath-salt addict looking motherf*cker had been waiting for his fries for over two hours and decided that he had ENOUGH, going full ‘come at me bro’.

Coming from Jersey, I painstakingly admit that this type of behavior is somewhat commonplace depending on where you are, but I had no idea the disease had spread all the way to Texas, kind of like that South Park episode where New Jersey expanded its territory into the rest of the country.

“We were eating and all of a sudden, like, I hear my friend say, like, what the heck,” said Sanchez. “And like, I see a guy come in with a big dog.” Sanchez recorded the video on his phone. “He’s telling the people, like, I waited two hours for my fries,” he recalled.

Sanchez said an unidentified man was irate over an issue about his food order. He told KFOX14 the man swiped a cookie display off the restaurant’s counter and started threatening an employee.

The El Paso Police Department confirmed officers were called out for reports of a fight going on at that McDonald’s location. “Finally, the cops get there and they just kind of get him,” said Sanchez. “They take him outside and another cop car comes in.”

So just remember people — never, ever, eat at a McDonalds. Whether it be the crazy people at the restaurant or the runs the food gives you when you leave, McDonald’s is never worth it.

The suspect in the attack on French soldiers named as Bachir Hamou.

A search warrant is being executed at his home in the Paris suburb of Sartrouville.

Hamou was shot and arrested after an attack this morning in Paris, which saw six soldiers injured after he drove his BMW into them. The 37-year-old was Hamou was reported to be ‘seriously wounded’ in a gunfight near the northern port town of Boulogne-sur-Mer, France.

Hamou was shot five times.

According to reports, Hamou was intercepted as he was speeding along the A16 motorway towards Calais. At this time, specialist firearms officers from nearby Lille and Rouen engaged Hamou.

A SWAT team tracked, intercepted and shot the suspect five times while he was traveling on a highway around 150 miles north of Paris, officials told NBC News.

The suspect was not killed, and officers detained him and took him to hospital. He is a 36-year-old man of North African origin who lives in the Paris suburb of Sartrouville, according to the Paris prosecutor’s office.

Earlier, French counterterrorism prosecutors opened an investigation after the suspect, driving a BMW, injured six soldiers by ramming them as they left their barracks in the Levallois-Perret region of the city.

France’s Minister of the Armed Forces said three of the wounded soldiers were seriously injured, however, their injuries were not considered critical.

Patrick Balkany, the mayor of nearby Levallois-Perret, told NBC News that “Without a doubt this is a terrorist attack … he deliberately drove out to hit the soldiers.”

The targeted soldiers are part of what’s called Operation Sentinel. Operation Sentinel is a large-scale security operation that was create to patrol French towns and cities. It that deployed after the Charlie Hebdo attacks in January 2015.

France, who has endured multiple attacks over the last couple of years, has been under a state of emergency since the terror attacks that killed 130 people in November 2016.

Levallois-Perret, where this morning’s attack took place, is the location of France’s main intelligence agency as well as a “staging point” for soldiers who have been assigned to protect prominent sites after recent attacks.

The attack at Levallois-Perret comes just a little over a year after the Bastille Day attack that left 86 dead.

Hamou is the 37-year-old man who was shot and arrested for his connection to a terrorist attack in Levallois-Perret.  Hamou rammed a BMW into a group of soldiers, injuring six. Hamou resides in the French suburb of Sartrouville.

Welcome back to another edition of competitive gaming updates! The Overwatch League has been looking to add teams all month. Big money is needed to secure your spot in the league, which includes a fee of $20 million over time. That’s a lot of moolah just to watch gamers shoot at each other.

Team Envy Relocates

Team Blizzard is working up a deal with Team Envy, which would relocate the latter team to Dallas, Texas. The Overwatch League has been picking up teams and cities since the start of July. Overwatch is expected to add Envy to their list. More teams are expected to be signed in the coming weeks.

Each spot for the Overwatch League is acquired through a $20 million buy-in that is paid over time. This super expensive spot attracts millionaire investors and entrepreneurs such as New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and New York Mets owner Fred Wilpon.

If the deal is finalized then Team Envy will relocate from Charlotte, North Carolina to Dallas, Texas. Envy is a very successful team, as they took home the first place prize at Overwatch Apex in season 1 of Major League Gaming Las Vegas 2016.

Overwatch Welcomes Their First Female Competitor

Kim “Geguri” Se-yeon made history when she became the first female competitor in Overwatch history. The 18-year-old gamer signed on with ROX Orcas to compete in OGN Overwatch APEX, one of the world’s most talked-about gaming tournaments.

Kim told ESPN, “I entered ROX because I wanted to further my experience and play with a team again.”

In June 2016, Se-yeon took the gaming community by storm with extraordinary skills that caused some gamers to accuse her of cheating. Her match opponents were so convinced that she was a fraud that they threatened to officially retire from the Overwatch competitive scene completely if it was revealed that she was “clean.”

Geguri shut up all the haters when she live streamed herself playing a first-person-shooter like a boss. Once she presented evidence of her skills, teams began to take notice of this gaming star.

ROX Orcas jumped at the chance to sign Se-yeon. And now, Ms. Kim will make history again when she becomes the first female competitor to compete at the upcoming Overwatch tournament.

Kaden Stephens–Metro Nashville Police

A Nashville man entered a Kroger grocery store on Monday and threatened that he would blow the store up with explosives. The man threatened that he had explosives on his body, as he carried a back-pack he claimed contained C-4. He threatened that he was “going to blow the roof off the place.”

Kaden M. Stevens was apprehended by police after making loud bomb threats at a Kroger store on the 5500 block of Old Hickory Boulevard. According to the arrest affidavit, Stevens was also following people around the store, pointing and threatening them with a gun-shaped hand signal.

When police arrived, Stevens raced to the front of the store, yelling “peace” and requesting that officers don’t shoot him. However, once in custody, Stevens continuously shouted  “Allahu Akbar.”

The suspect claimed to be an undercover cop. He threatened that he was going to “take down” the arresting officer for taking him into custody.

Police searched through Steven’s backpack, but didn’t find any trace of explosive materials. He is now facing charges of false report-emergency, disorderly conduct, and criminal impersonation.

Folks, despite the fact that Dave Chappelle has been “back” for a year or two, I never expected him to revive his old Chappelle’s Show characters. Boy was I wrong, as it appears a real-life Tyrone Biggums is running around Sioux City, Iowa.

Biggums, real name Dennis Strickland, was arrested after police found meth on him after he allegedly tried to deposit a fake million-dollar bill into his bank account.

According to the Sioux City Journal, Strickland attempted to deposit the fake million dollar bill at Northwest Bank. However, his genius plan was foiled by a pesky bank teller who just happened to be on their A game that day, as they were able to spot the fake million dollar bill and notify the Sioux City Police Department.

Sergeant Judy Kellen confirmed Strickland did try and deposit a piece of paper at the bank but would not verify any other details about that portion of the incident since no charges were filed in relation to it.

When officers arrived at the bank Thursday and questioned Strickland, he was asked to empty his pockets and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Biggums Strickland was charged with possession of a controlled substance and is being held on $1,000 bond in the Woodbury County Jail. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 14.

Uber has been providing stiff competition for cab services across the globe. But now, the “Uber” name is providing business for dope dealers. Late last week, the New York DEA announced a raid it conducted on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Agents uncovered a treasure trove of narcotics marked with the “Uber” name.

During this raid, the DEA seized roughly $4 million worth of heroin marked with the “Uber” name and logo. Agents also seized packets of fentanyl also being the Uber name. The company has nothing to do with the bust besides it’s name being used by drug dealers attempting to capitalize off of the brand’s popularity. However, one person involved in the bust is alleged to be an Uber Driver.

According to the press release on the arrest, the DEA said:

…they observed defendant David Rodriguez, exiting the building carrying two boxes inside a large white shopping bag. David Rodriguez then got into the backseat of a black Honda Accord driven by Richard Rodriguez, an Uber driver.

The car only drove a few blocks before DEA agents swooped in on the vehicle. Inside the car, agents found a mixture of fentanyl and heroin packages. Both drugs have largely contributed to the current opioid crisis.

Officers searched the apartment that they saw Rodriguez exit before they made the bust. Inside the apartment, agents found a lot more narcotics, some stamped with the “Uber” brand…

two large ziplock bags containing approximately three kilograms of a suspected fentanyl and heroin combination from inside a hall closet, as well as 1,100 individual dose glassine envelopes that had been filled with powder and stamped with the brand name “UBER.”

Authorities also uncovered $30,000 in cash, a handgun, and a large amount of drug paraphernalia agents said was “consistent with a heroin/fentanyl packaging mill.”

But “Uber” wasn’t the only brand name used by this narcotics operation. The DEA shared a photo showing all different types of stamps being used to sell heroin. Dope dealers are capitalizing off of popular brands such as “McDonalds,” “Animal Planet,” perhaps most fitting “Walking Dead”.

A spokesperson from Uber said that they’re aware of the arrests and have been looking into the matter.
