Okay, I don’t actually hate myself (if we’re being honest, I’m probably a relatively over-confident person) but I do hate myself for how much I find myself writing about Kylie Jenner.
In a couple of weeks, I will have been at COED for two years. And since my very first day an intern on July 31, 2015, all the way until now, I may have written somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 Kylie Jenner articles. And she’s not even 20-years-old yet! I’m shook.

Christina Albini, a 43-year-old former Catholic school teacher at Christ King Catholic School in Georgetown, Ontario, was found to be having an affair with a student after the teenage boy’s mother found naked photos of her on the boy’s cellphone.
Albini admitted to one count of sexual interference, touching the body of a person under 16 years old for a sexual purpose, last month. She faces a one-year jail term and must register as a sex offender. She also must provide her DNA under a ruling reached in the Ontario Court of Justice on Tuesday.
Albini, a former teacher at Christ the King Catholic school, was arrested back on July 18, 2016. She allegedly befriended the male student when he was 13 and began having sex with him shortly afterwards. Albini would pick him up in her purple Dodge Challenger and then bring him back to her South Windsor home for sex.
She promised to “be quick and have him back before his mother gets home,” prosecutor Eric Costaris told an earlier hearing.
Albini is said to have seduced the boy by sending him explicit photos of herself after yoga practice through the WhatsApp and Kik messaging apps on a cellphone she bought for him. The boy’s mother then discovered the messages and photos she sent him.
Police also found receipts for presents which Albini bought for the youngster, including the phone, an Xbox, bracelet and clothes.
Albini addressed the court Tuesday, saying: “I apologize to all of my supporters. I want to apologize to the public, my co-workers, teachers.”
Her lawyer Patrick Ducharme told the court: “She’s frightened to go to jail. But it’s the type of crime that the government insisted that it’s serious enough that people have to go to jail and she accepts that.”
A spokesman for the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board confirmed that Albini is no longer with the school.
She will be on three years probation after her release and must register as a sex offender for 20 years. She is also banned from contacting the boy or his family.

Former porn star and general Internet crush Mia Khalifa smacked a dude in the face for taking a selfie of the bodacious babe without permission. The Lebanese adult actress took exception to this 20-year-old from San Antonio, Texas, snapping a picture but he didn’t seem to mind the result too much.

“Got a pic with Mia Khalifa and she punched me in the face and left a bruise,” he wrote along with two laughing emojis. Power move, dude.
As of Tuesday night, the tweet has been liked at least 9,000 times and retweeted at least 3,700 times.
Several other Khalifa fans responded by posting their own pictures of the “actress.”
On top of being a porn star, Khalifa is also known for publicly humiliating former Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly last year. She posted screen shots of the 23-year-old football player’s attempts to slide into her DMs and request some FaceTime action. On one scorching hot summer day, Andy Mitchell, of Rockwall, Texas, was driving to work when he saw another young man in a fast food uniform walking to work in the 95-degree heat. He decided to pull over.
When Mitchell rolled down his window, he offered 20-year-old Justin Korva, a ride to his job at Taco Casa. Neither of them knew it would be the beginning of something special.
While driving the young man to work, Mitchell learned that Korva regularly walked 3 miles to and from work every day. Furthermore, he found out that Korva was determined to save up money so he could one day by himself a car.
And thanks to Mitchell’s Facebook post about young Justin Korva, his new car came sooner than expected.

Hundreds of people in the community saw his post, including Samee Dowlatshahi, owner of Samee’s Pizza Getti Italian Bistro & Lounge in Rockwell. Dowlatshahi offered to put a donation box inside his pizza joint to aid Korva in his quest to buy a car. In less than 48 hours, with some help from Mitchell, they’d raised more than $5,500.
That’s when Danny Rawls, general sales manager at Toyota of Rockwall and a friend of Dowlatshahi, heard Korva’s inspiring story.
“I presented it to my general manager and said, ‘Hey, let’s help the kid. It seems like a great story,'” Rawls told CBS News. His boss agreed, and the pair reduced the price on a 2004 Toyota Camry that was available.
Rawls then contacted Dowlatshahi and the wheels were in motion. Not only were they able to give Korva the Camry, but much, much more.
They had enough left over to pay for a year of insurance, two years’ worth of oil changes, and a $500 gas card.

One of the most underrated shooting guards in the NBA, Eric Gordon has been a vital scoring component on every team he has played for. Although Gordon is unlikely to supersede well-established shooting guards such as Klay Thompson and DeMar DeRozan, his ability to be a consistent bench scorer cannot be denied. Gordon’s contributions in his first year with the Houston Rockets were particularly noteworthy as he recently won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award. Given Gordon’s unwavering work ethic on the court, the question remains of how much is the humble shooting guard actually worth?
How did veteran scorer get there? And how has his development into a reliable scorer enhanced his wealth to these heights? Let’s find out.
After being selected with the 7th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers, Gordon immediately proved his value as a confident shooter as he scored 23 points in his first NBA Summer League game in Las Vegas. During the regular season, Gordon’s offensive prowess was on full display as he scored 16.1 points per game and had a impressive field goal percentage of 45.6%. Gordon’s consistent shooting output garnered him NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors while finishing fifth in Rookie of the Year voting.
Gordon’s second season in the NBA was crucial in that it proved that his scoring capabilities from last season were not simply the result of over performing. Although he only played in 62 games during the season, he started in 60 of those games and raised his points per game average to 16.9.
2010 was Gordon’s breakout season as a top scorer and the offseason proved to be particularly uplifting for him as he won a gold medal at the 2010 FIBA World Championship. Despite spraining his wrist early in the season, which resulted in Gordon missing 18 games, the determined scorer would not be denied his golden season. Gordon finished the season as the Clippers second leading scorer as he averaged 22.3 points and 4.4 assists per game, both career highs.
Despite Gordon’s essential scoring contributions during the previous season, the Clippers did not waste anytime trading Gordon and several other players to the New Orleans Hornets for Chris Paul in 2011. Due to a knee injury, Gordon only played in nine games during the regular season, but still averaged 20.6 points per game when he was on the court.
During the offseason in 2012, Gordon signed a lucrative offer sheet with the Phoenix Suns worth $58 million over four years, which was subsequently matched by the Hornets. However, while the Hornets were able to retain their consistent shooting guard, Gordon was still having complications with his knee and was forced to miss the first six weeks of the season as a result. Despite missing nearly half of the regular season, Gordon was the Hornets leading scorer and averaged 17 points per game.
He reportedly earned $13.6 million in 2012.
Now playing for the renamed New Orleans Pelicans in 2013, Gordon was more determined than ever to stay healthy and help his team succeed. Although Gordon played in his most games with the Pelicans at 62, he missed the end of the regular season due to knee tendinitis. He shot just 43.6% from the field and his production as a pure scorer took a hit as he only managed 15.4 points per game.
2014 got off to a rocky start for Gordon as he was averaging a measly 9.5 points over his first twelve games and suffered a torn labrum, which forced him to miss 21 games. While Gordon had his worst season offensively in terms of point production, the fact that he was able to rehabilitate a torn labrum showed the basketball world how determined he was to make a name for himself.
Amazingly, Gordon was still able to be a dominant perimeter shooter despite his injury (44.8% from 3-point range). Gordon’s late season heroics as a scorer allowed the Pelicans to make the playoffs where they faced the Golden State Warriors in the first round. While the Pelicans were ultimately swept by the Warriors, Gordon did his part to at least keep the individual games competitive as he averaged 18.5 points per game.
While Gordon got off to an impressive start health wise as he played in the Pelicans first 41 games in 2015, he fractured a bone in his ring finger in January. Gordon would have the finger operated on twice, which prevented the tenacious shooter from being a consistent contributor during the second half of the season. To his credit, Gordon still managed to average 15.2 points per game while setting a new career high in free throw percentage at 88.8%.
During the 2016 offseason, Gordon signed a four-year contract worth $52.8 million with the Houston Rockets. His inaugural season with the Rockets was one of his most productive in terms of health as he played in nearly every game as the Rockets primary bench scorer. Gordon averaged 16.2 points per game on the season and won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award, becoming the first player in franchise history to receive such recognition.
While Gordon’s NBA career could be characterized as very good but not great due to health issues, his perseverance through these untimely setbacks put him in a class as a vastly underrated but highly productive shooter. Although injuries have emphatically shut down the careers of countless athletes, Gordon’s determination as a competitive professional have allowed the consistent shooter to excel more than he has failed. Seeing as how Gordon has already received a well-deserved contract, his final goal as a beloved underdog will be to garner a elusive championship ring.
He reportedly earned $12.3 million in 2017.

Michelle Rodriguez has starred as Letty Ortiz, the badass and hardcore love interest of Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto, in six Fast & Furious films. On Tuesday, however, the actress revealed that she is ready to walk away from her biggest Hollywood role if the franchise does not up its game in its treatment of female characters.
“F8 is out digitally today, I hope they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one,” she wrote, along with pictures of her with Diesel and costar Nathalie Emmanuel. “Or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise. It’s been a good ride & Im grateful for the opportunity the fans & studio have provided over the years… One Love.”
The Fast & Furious movies have always been dominated by the male characters and as we’ve seen with this summer’s Wonder Woman, audiences are more than willing to support a female ass kicker on screen. With the late Paul Walker being written into retirement after his November 2013 fatal car crash and Jordana Brewster skipping the last movie, Rodriguez and Diesel are the only original cast members left. While Rodriguez isn’t exactly a household name or box office draw, her departure would hurt the series.
Yes, the franchise has added more women like Gal Gadot, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren. But their presence hasn’t exactly translated into substance.
“I’ve been making movies with Jordana, who plays the sister of Dom Toretto, for 16 years and I can count on one hand how many lines I’ve had to her,” she told EW. “I think that’s pathetic and it’s lack of creativity.”
Rodriguez continued by expressing her frustration with both the female status in Fast & Furious and in Hollywood action films in general.
“It does weigh heavy on my head — especially in the male-dominated environment that I work in,” she said. “At the end of the day, the only leverage I have as an individual is my participation. That’s the only leverage I ever use with anything. It’s like, look, this doesn’t agree with my ethics, morals. My heart doesn’t feel right doing this in front of millions of people, so I can always oblige myself and depart because money, to me, isn’t as important as my lines that you’re not allowed to cross.”

Riverside Mall in in Cape Town, South Africa, has been placed on lockdown due to reports of an active shooter. Police have confirmed that four individuals have been arrested after an attempted armed robbery.
Witnesses took to social media on Wednesday to report shots fired at Riverside Mall in Rondebosch. Soon it was being reported by those on the scene that an armed robbery was underway.

This prompted the mall to immediately be placed on lockdown.
Authorities responded quickly as there is a police station located on the same road as the Riverside Mall. Two suspect were apprehended quickly as police continued to search for two more. Later, police confirmed that the other two suspect had been taken into custody.
Police say the armed robbers attempted to hold up a cell phone store.
As of now, there are no reported injuries.

The Jameel family are the sole owners of the right to sell Toyota cars in Saudi Arabia, a title they have held for eight decades.

Oak Park and River Forest High School was placed on a soft lockdown Wednesday after several administrators received a threatening email, the school said.
The school was placed on lockdown around 9:30 A.M. local time. No one is allowed in or out of the building until the lockdown is officially lifted.
According to the school, police are on the scene investigating to determine whether or not it is a credible threat. Students and outdoor camps are being held in classrooms.
All 10:15 and afternoon summer school classes have been cancelled for Wednesday and the school is asking parents and guardians not to come to the school.
Parents and guardians may go to Ridgeland Commons to wait to be allowed on campus when students are released, the school said.
No other details were immediately available.
Oak Park and River Forest High School, or OPRF, is a public four-year high school located in Oak Park, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is the only school of Oak Park and River Forest District 200.
The school was founded in 1873 and the current building was opened in 1907. A comprehensive college preparatory school, OPRF has had a long history of not only turning out alumni who have made contributions in a wide variety of fields, but have consistently been eminently notable in their fields. Perhaps the most notable is Nobel Prize– and Pulitzer Prize–winning author Ernest Hemingway, whose writing career began at the school.
Today, the school serves nearly 3,100 students.
The Afghan Whigs
Musician Dave Rosser – best known for his guitar work with the rock band The Afghan Whigs – died Tuesday. He was 50.
Rosser died following a battle with inoperable colon cancer.
The band took to Facebook to confirm the news of Rosser’s passing.
His cancer battle was first revealed in October, when The Afghan Whigs announced two special performances in New Orleans and Los Angeles in an effort to raise money for his medical expenses.
Following the diagnosis, Rosser remained active with the band, contributing to their eighth album, In Spades, which was released on May 5.
Rosser’s friend and fellow rocker Jeff Klein also posted on Facebook about the passing.
The Afghan Whigs formed in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1986, and latter broke up in 2001. In 2014, the band reformed with new members — including Rosser, who previously played alongside vocalist Greg Dulli’s side projects The Twilight Singers and The Gutter Twins — to release their first album in 16 years, Do to the Beast.
Throughout his career, Rosser also worked with notable artists such as Ani DiFranco, Joseph Arthur and Tim Heidecker.
As we near the end of the 2017 Confederations Cup, the competition and intensity from the remaining teams will look to heat up significantly. Specifically, the matchup between Chile and Portugal should be a high octane fueled contest as superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Alexis Sanchez will go head to head to see who will make it to the Confederation Cup Championship.

English actress Lily James has landed a major role in the new movie Baby Driver. James is no stranger to the limelight as she starred in the hit television series Downtown Abbey, British-American drama series War & Peace, and scored the lead role in the 2015 film Cinderella.
At 28, James has shown her versatility on TV and the big screen, except this time it will be in a more modern context compared to her last period piece few roles. We’ve usually seen James in old-fashioned settings, but Baby Driver takes place in the grand present. Hopefully, that means some skimpy outfits. She is set to play a young waitress that becomes the romantic interest of the main character Miles Baby, played by Ansel Elgort.
Baby Driver is about a young and talented getaway driver, Baby, who becomes a better driver as he raises the music in his car to increase his focus. He looses both of his parents as a child in a car accident and develops tinnitus. The music has forever since been his safe haven and is a major factor in the movie.
James gets caught in the mix of a heist that Baby must help anchor by driving the getaway car. Jamie Foxx will bring his comedic influence to the script which should make for a very entertaining film that comes out today, June 28th. With all this being said, how about we take a look at the gorgeous actress that is Lily James.
With NBA free agency set to begin on July 1, teams all over the league are trying to best position themselves to improve their teams. After a few moves on draft night, another big splash is being reported.
Paul has been rumored to be on the move for weeks, and he had the option to leave in free agency. Upon telling the Clippers he planned to leave, they made this trade to get some return for their star guard. The dominoes from this trade will likely lead to a Blake Griffin departure and a full on Clippers’ rebuild. J.J. Redick will also be a free agent and DeAndre Jordan could also be on the move in the next few days. Lob City could be coming to an end.
For the Clippers:
Even though it means they have to begin a rebuild, this trade makes a ton of sense for the Clippers. Since Paul informed the Clippers that he was going to leave in free-agency, he gave them the chance to get some return on him. The sum of their return does not equate to Paul’s value, but it is better than nothing.
Williams offers plenty of backcourt scoring and could serve as a J.J. Redick replacement for the Clippers. He also could be moved to a contender for more picks and youth. Dekker is a solid wing player and should get a chance to play with the Clippers after injuries limited his time in Houston. Patrick Beverley is one of the best defensive guards in the NBA and will be an important piece in the Clippers rebuild. The Clippers should have plenty of money to go after free agents as well, and some smart signings could keep them relevant.
For the Rockets:
For the Rockets, this trade makes some basketball sense but not entirely basketball business sense. The Rockets get a top player in the league and have a top backcourt tandem in the league. This is a big splash that could take them to the next level in the West. But was it necessary? Paul said he was planning on signing with the Rockets anyway, so why bother trading for him. The deal may save the Rockets some money in the short term because they do not have to extend Paul just yet. The tweet below shows that the trade deal saves the Rockets close to $11 million.
The Rockets will need to use that money wisely because they could be in for some financial and personnel issues in the coming years. Even if Paul seems cheap this year, his salary will jump that $11 million next year if he is extended since he will still be eligible for a super-max deal. The Rockets will then be paying upwards of $65 million on just their backcourt. That is over 60 percent of the cap on just two players. Throw in Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon and that’s another close to $35 million in 2018. That’s almost the entire salary cap on not even a full starting lineup. Yikes.
I do not think this trade puts the Rockets over top in the West, and it exposes one of their major issues. When the Rockets lost in the playoffs it was because their stars and starters were not producing. As this happened the Rockets had few options to turn to off the bench to help make a shot or get a stop. This problem is worse now that three rotation players are headed to the Clippers. The Eric Gordon is the only backup guard, Trevor Ariza is the only small forward
The roster is very top heavy. Eric Gordon is the only backup guard, Trevor Ariza is the only small forward, and the frontcourt is a question mark behind Ryan Anderson and Clint Capela. The Rockets have the firepower to keep up with anybody. But just like the Cavaliers learned, you need some bench production to stem the tide when stars rest. The Rockets will no doubt try to address their bench deficiencies but will be tight on money when trying to do so.

In case you were unaware (which, if so, lucky for you) 21 Savage is an Atlanta rapper famous for what he describes as ‘murder music.’ And let me tell you, his music is essentially audial herpes.
Had you asked me a week ago what I thought about 21 Savage’s mom, I would have told you that I always just assumed 21 Savage spawned directly from hell itself. Little did I know he came out of this Fox.
So, while it’s a shame that the world is subjected to 21 Savage, at least we can find a little peace in knowing he came from somewhere so beautiful.
Adrian Wojnarowski is a basketball reporter who is famous for his breaking news stories and myriad connections within teams’ front offices. Woj seems to always know what is going to happen before anybody else, and his “Woj Bombs” are famous, especially around the draft and free agency. Woj had worked for Yahoo Sports for the past few years on their basketball site, “The Vertical.” Woj is now making his way to ESPN where he will be an NBA insider beginning on July 1st.
After Wojnarowski graduated from college in 1991 and began work at small time publications such as The Fresno Bee (CA) and The Waterbury Republican-American (CT). Another one of his first jobs included sports clerk for the Hartford Courant and intern for the Olean Times Herald (NY).
Wojnarowski was hired in 1997 for The Record in New Jersey and worked for 10 years there. He won various awards there as he covered sports and other topics. He also published a New York Times best-seller “The Miracle of St. Anthony: A Season with Coach Bob Hurley and Basketball’s Most Improbable Dynasty.” His work and success began to receive significant recognition.
Woj began at Yahoo in 2007 and quickly transformed the way they covered basketball. He built up his sources and became the go to for breaking basketball news. His created an offshoot website called TheVertical which would compete with ESPN for NBA breaking news despite being much smaller. As NBA rumors continue to swirl, it is ofter Woj dropping the biggest bomb. In 2015 Woj signed a four-year $6 million dollar contract.
Woj will begin work for ESPN at the beginning of free-agency on July 1. He will make on-air appearances during Sportscenter and NBA free agency specials. and other programs, according to a press release. He should be a great contributor despite criticizing his new employer in the past.

The Rochester General Hospital emergency department in Rochester, New York, restricted visitors after an argument Wednesday afternoon. It is unclear what exactly prompted the restriction.
Hospital officials told the local NBC affiliate that the restriction was put in place after gunshot victims arrived at the emergency department. This is a normal procedure for the hospital. The other departments in the hospital are open. It is unclear what the nature of the argument was or how it has prompted restrictions. News 8 reports that the altercation was related to the shooting.
A representative from the hospital says the hospital is not on lockdown, but is following the routine procedure for when a victim of violence is dropped off at the Emergency Department. Everyone has been asked to stay in place while security does a sweep.
Rochester police were responding to a shooting on Mohawk Street on Wednesday around 1:15 P.M.
It is unknown what exactly police are investigating, or if anyone is injured.
No other details were immediately available.

Perennial All-Star Chris Paul has always been regarded as not only one of the best point guards, but players in the NBA since his arrival. He has the ability to make his teammates better and is known league-wide as one of the better leaders. He’s got the statistics to back up his case for a top player in history but one important thing has eluded him up to this point: a championship ring.
His early career saw him improving each year with the New Orleans Hornets before being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. He brought the Clippers to newfound heights and transformed them into a respectable organization after years of laughable dysfunction. After a six-year stint with the organization, he has now been traded to the Houston Rockets to play alongside James Harden with the hopes of competing for a championship, or at least making it to his first conference finals.
Along with his basketball career, Paul has also been successful off the court. He has a slew of endorsement deals and it feels like he’s on almost every other commercial no matter what time of the year. Whether or not he ends up winning a ring at some point, Paul will still be regarded as one of the greats at his position and he won’t have to worry much financially either. Lets take a look at how he got to this point.
After getting selected fourth overall in the 2005 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Hornets, Chris Paul actually became fairly familiar with the city of Oklahoma. New Orleans had just suffered from Hurricane Katrina and the team had to play the majority of their games in Oklahoma.
Paul dominated as a rookie coming just one vote shy of winning the Rookie of the Year award unanimously.
The next year he showed off at All-Star Weekend by setting new Rookie Challenge records with 9 steals and 17 assists. Paul had an impressive Sophomore season by averaging 17.3 ppg and 8.9 apg but only played 64 games due to injury.
By his third season, Paul was becoming a star by being selected to the All-Star game for the first time and leading the Hornets to a franchise best 56-win season and second seed in the playoffs. After having a phenomenal first & second round, Paul received a $68 million contract extension in the off season. The 2008-09 season however seemed to be a downgrade from the last as they got eliminated in the first round.
2009-10 proved to be tough as well with Paul being disappointed in the team firing Byron Scott after a rocky start, along with him getting injured and the team ultimately missing the playoffs.
The 2010-11 season was one of his best with the team getting back to the playoffs and playing extraordinarily well against the reigning champion Los Angeles Lakers in the first round. The team got eliminated once again and Paul wanted a change of scenery.
Paul finally got to switch jerseys when he got sent to the Los Angeles Clippers in December of 2011. He would get teamed up with Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan and form what would be known as “Lob City” for years to come.
This situation wasn’t much different for Paul as results were similar to his time in New Orleans. At the end of his first season as a Clipper, he would lose in the second round to San Antonio. The next season he added another award to his resume with an All-Star game MVP but lose to the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round.
The 2013-14 off-season saw Paul sign another lucrative deal for $107 million for five years. That was about the only good news for that upcoming season as he would suffer another injury and get knocked out in the second round again to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The following season was the closest he ever came to the Conference Finals when his Clippers held a 3-1 lead over the Houston Rockets. They then blew that series lead in devastating fashion leaving the team point fingers and with questions they didn’t have answers for.
In 2015-16 the trend of disappointment continued. He would have to carry the load for a while during the regular season as Griffin and Jordan nursed injuries. He played well but you could see exhaustion in the miniature guard. When the playoffs finally rolled around, both him and Griffin suffered season ending injuries the same day it was announced that MVP Stephen Curry would be out for a few weeks. They could have matched-up with Golden State that following round and have what could have been their best chance to overtake the Warriors. That obviously never materialized and they would lose in six games to the Portland Trailblazers.
This past season seemed to be like their last run with this group and the injury bug would still haunt the organization. They lost Griffin yet again and suffered defeat at the hands of the up and coming Utah Jazz.
The off season is starting to pick up and both Blake Griffin and Chris Paul decided to opt out of their contracts to become free agents. Paul then reportedly told Los Angeles that he would be heading to Houston so they convinced him to opt into the last year of his contract, so they could trade him and receive some assets from Houston in return.
Chris Paul will now play for his third franchise and this looks to be a better chance than any for him to get through to the Conference Finals and possibly further.
Monalisa Perez, 19, allegedly shot dead her boyfriend Pedro Ruiz III, 22, in the chest with a .50 caliber Desert Eagle piston on Monday in front of their three-year-old in a YouTube stunt gone wrong.
Perez and Ruiz had been dating for five years and were pregnant with their second child. The couple were trying to earn YouTube fame with the stunt that went horribly wrong.
Perez fled the house screaming and later said the book was supposed to stop the bullet to make a viral video, family members told the Star Tribune.

The couple’s plan was for Perez to fire the large-caliber handgun at a hardcover encyclopedia being held by Ruiz outside their home around 6:30 P.M.
Perez told police that she had fired the fatal shot while she stood just a foot away from Ruiz, the prosecutor said. She claimed Perez came up with the idea and showed her another book that had successfully stopped the bullet.
Perez then called 911 and EMTs attempted chest compressions on Ruiz, but were unable to save the young man.
Their three-year-old daughter, Aaliyah, was reportedly present when the shooting occurred.
Perez, who is pregnant with the couple’s second child, has been charged with second-degree manslaughter.
Online retailer Cabelas described the Desert Eagle as “one of the world’s most powerful semiautomatic handguns.”
A video by an unrelated YouTuber, ‘Tom Bulletsafe’ shows a .50 caliber Desert Eagle firing straight through 24 sheets of drywall.
Ruiz’s aunt, Claudia Ruiz, told WDAY-TV that she told her nephew “Don’t do it. Don’t do it. Why are you going to use a gun? Why?”
She said he replied: “Because we want more viewers. We want to get famous.”
The couple’s YouTube channel, which is based around video pranks, typically received between 400 and 900 views per video and had 218 subscribers.
