For many, Anchorman is considered to be one of the best comedy films of all time. But hey, did you know that this classic was originally going to be a whole lot different? How different, you may ask. Ron and the gang are trapped on a mountainside while being hunted down by orangutans armed with Chinese throwing stars. And that’s not all.

Sound like an idea crazy enough to work? Well, apparently it wasn’t good enough for Dreamworks or Paramount Pictures. No wonder Hollywood is in the shape that is it in, today.

Will Ferrell revealed the wild plot for the original version of Anchorman on The Bill Simmons Podcast that aired this past Friday:

““The first version of Anchorman is basically the movie Alive, where the year is 1976, and we are flying to Philadelphia, and all the newsmen from around the country are flying in to have some big convention. Ron convinces the pilot that he knows how to fly the charter jet, and he immediately crash-lands it in the mountains. And it’s just the story of them surviving and trying to get off the mountainside. They clipped a cargo plane, and the cargo plane crashed as well, close to them, and it was carrying only boxes of orangutans and Chinese throwing stars. So throughout the movie we’re being stalked by orangutans who are killing, one by one, the team off with throwing stars. And Veronica Corningstone keeps saying things like, ‘Guys, I know if we just head down we’ll hit civilization.’ And we keep telling her, ‘Wrong.’ She doesn’t know what we’re talking about.””

After reading these key details regarding Anchorman, I’m thinking that it’s only a matter of time before this scrapped plot turns into its own movie. The news gang can always get trapped on a mountainside with killer apes during the third film.

Anchorman is even Will Ferrell’s favorite movie. Well, maybe not his official favorite film of all time, but definitely his personal pick for favored film that he’s appeared on. “The one that stands out as the favorite, and it’s a hard choice, is Anchorman,” Ferrell said. “Because of the journey that it took. And it’s kind of the Cinderella story of the movie no one wanted to make.”

That film starring the mustachio newsman was even turned down 10 times in one. That’s not very classy news, Ron.

Anyway, we need more people from the media on mountainsides with orangutans and Chinese throwing stars. And we need that magic, whether it’s in the next Anchorman film or not.

A New York production of Shakespeare’s ‘Julius Caesar’ came to an abrupt halt after an enraged women stormed the stage, condemning the play for encouraging political violence against the right, particularly President Donald J. Trump. The crowd booed as she yelled out, “Do you want Trump to be assassinated?”

Police have confirmed that this protester’s name is Laura Loomer, and she has been arrested. Loomer is charged with with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. She was released from jail two hours after her arrest, but she must appear in court on August 14th.

“I’m out of jail, but I’m not apologetic,” the 24-year-old wrote on Twitter. “Thanks to everyone who is supporting me & condemning political violence.”

She shouted “Stop leftist violence” as she rushed the stage and triggered a chorus of boos.

But what does this have to do with Donald Trump?

Good question, Brian! In this play, actor Gregg Henry very closely resembles the 45th president of the United States. Henry’s character has fluffy blondish hair. He also wears a suit and had a yuge tie hanging below his whatever.

Julius Caesar is made to look exactly like Donald Trump. And guess what happens in the play? Caesar gets stabbed to death by a pack of senators, including his bff Brutus. So, basically the Trump version of Caesar is scripted to get stabbed up, as per the tradition of the play. However, a Trump-like Julius Caesar is a brand new take and rendition of the Shakespeare classic.

Was Laura Loomer alone in her protest?

Nope. Another audience member was inspired by Laura’s courage. He stood up and spoke out to demonstrate his support for Loomer’s words and actions. The man compared those in attendance to Nazis, saying that “Joesph Gerber would be proud! Gerber would be proud!”

The outraged man added that “The blood of Steve Scalise is on your hands!” Republican House Majority Whip Steve Scalise was critically wounded last week by a gunman inspired to kill Republicans.

What’s the consequences/reactions for the ‘Julius Caesar’ production?

Delta and Bank of America have decided to revoke their sponsorship status for the event, citing the ‘Julius Caesar’ production. This Sunday, will be the last production of the Shakespearean play.

The Public Theater responded to the incident on Twitter. They certainly claim to be “champions” of the First Amendment, yet they describe Friday’s disruption as being “driven by social media.”

They also gave a big thanks to the security for doing their part in neutralizing the disturbance.

And of course, they couldn’t help but make a #hashtag dedicated to the incident. “Help us spread a positive message: #FreeShakespeare.”

Well, so much for Shakespeare In The Park! I wonder if they’ll cast Kathy Griffin for next year…

The actor famous for playing Flounder in the cult 1978 film Animal House has died at the age of 63. Stephen Furst has passed away, and his family has confirmed the death of this actor.

Stephen Furst died on Saturday as a result on complications relating to diabetes.

Furst is most famous for portraying the role of Kent “Flounder” Dorfman in the hit film Animal House. The actor has also appeared in various television programs, including St. Elsewhere and Babylon 5.

Stephen’s son Nathan Furst said that his father “was a beloved husband, father and kind friend whose memory will always be a blessing.”

The actor died in his home in Ventura Country, California.

A deadly explosion hit an upscale Colombian mall in the capital city of Bogotá. Colombian authorities have reported multiple injuries and causalities in the blast.

So far, the death toll has risen to three, including a French woman. One person died at the scene of the bombing, while two passed away from their injuries in a hospital. The blast hit one of the busiest shopping centers in the entire city. Nine people have been injured in the explosion.

Longtime Bogotá Mayor Enrique Penalosa calls this deadly explosion a “cowardly terrorist bombing.”

Ambulances and firetrucks quickly arrived on the scene and the injured were transported to a nearby hospital. Witnesses were evacuated from movie theaters and stores after an explosion in a second-floor female’s bathroom.

Who’s that French Woman?

Her name is Julie Huynh. She is 23-years-old who had spent the last six months in Columbia, as she volunteered her charitable services to a poor village. She was planning on leaving this South American nation in a matter of days, but her life was cut short by this deadly blast.

Who is responsible for the attack?

We currently aren’t sure who set off the explosion, as this story is developing by the minute. However, Colombian authorities have their sights set on the country’s largest active rebel group, the National Liberation Army or ELN. In February of this year, the ELN claimed responsibility for a bombing that went off in near Bogota’s bullring, which resulted in 20 injuries and the death of one police officer.

I expect the women to steal the show tonight. They have a lot to prove tonight in the first-ever women’s Money In The Bank ladder match. Who will make it out with that pearly white briefcase? In my opinion, Charlotte has been in the spotlight for way too long. She doesn’t need this win as much as her colleagues.

Becky Lynch’s fire has dulled as of late. A win for her would revitalize her career. But I think it’s time to turn that orange-haired lass into a bad girl. That will bring back interest to her character.

A member of The Welcoming Committee has a 3/5 chance of winning this match. Those ladies need an extra boost to help continue the momentum of their group. I don’t remember the last time a Money In The Bank event was so unpredictable. But this match may be the hardest to call of them all. Each competitor in this match would make an excellent Mr. Money In The Bank. Dolph Ziggler is the only man in this match to have achieved that designation in the past. But I don’t think tonight is The Showoff’s night.

Baron Corbin has been an absolute beast ever since he stepped front in the blue brand. He’s one of my favorites to win tonight’s big match. However, he’ll have phenomenal competition to contend with.

AJ Styles probably doesn’t need this win, since he’s already a former WWE World Champion. But “The Phenomenal One” needs to get back on his game and a win tonight could do just that.

Kevin Owens is another one of my top picks for victory. He showed that he could hold his own as Monday Night Raw‘s top champion. Despite the fact that he got annihilated by old-timer Goldberg in a matter of seconds for the Universal Championship. Maybe tonight, KO will win back some main-event momentum.

Sami Zayn is literally the underdog of this match. Not many people expect him to win, which may just seal his fate for tonight. But WWE loves to surprise and shock its fans. The crowd would go absolutely insane for a Sami Zayn victory.

Shinsuke Nakamura is the exemplar of the New Era. His star has been fading ever since he arrived on the main roster. That may all change tonight if he walks away with that briefcase. I think he will…

Jinder Mahal’s rise to the top of WWE is simply unprecedented. He went from jobber-to-the-stars to main-event world champion. Who else has risen to the top so fast? He’s the living example of that Drake song “Started From The Bottom.”

Jinder is about as hard-body as they come, so he definitely has the physique of a champion. He’ll most likely knock off Orton in his first title defense. But “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev may inject himself into this match-up. Rusev demanded a world title shot for the Money In The Bank even a while back. Rusev will most likely be lurking, looking to cause some trouble. That can either play in Jinder’s favor or not.

But seriously, I don’t see WWE taking the strap off of Jinder so soon. I mean, what would be the point of giving him the title if they’re just going to knock him back down. “The Viper” might as well sit this one out.

A tourist resort in Mali is under attack by gunman. Nearby residents say that they heard gunshots at this luxury location. Westerners went to vacation at a beautiful destination in Africa, but then gunmen spoiled the fun.

Update (6/18/17, 5:46 P.M. EST): At least two people have died in the attack. Meanwhile, 32 guests have been rescued. The attackers were jihadists. Government troops battled the gunmen, but according to the security ministry, “one of the terrorists was able to escape, after being injured”.

A spokesman at the security ministry has told Reuters that gunmen have attacked a popular tourist resort in Mali. The ongoing shooting is taking place at Le Campement resort in Dougourakoro, to the east of the nation’s capital Bamako.

Malian troops as well as soldiers from France’s Bakhane counter-terrorist force are on the scene (as you read this).

There hasn’t been any information regarding causalities.

Mali is a landlocked country in West Africa. They’re the eighth-largest nation in Africa, with over 480,000 square miles of land. They have a population of 14. million.

A massive forest fire in central Portugal has spread to the streets, causing major fatalities in its wake. Portugal’s prime minister António Costa has called this fire “the biggest tragedy” that this European nation has faced in decades. Costa declares three days of national mourning.

At least 61 people have perished in the flames. A lightning spark is believed to have started the fire on Saturday. Huge clouds of smoke and red flames enveloped the forested Pedrogao Grande area some 150 kilometers (95 miles) northeast of the capital city Lisbon. The head of the national judicial police told Portuguese media that investigators have discovered the tree that was hit during the “dry thunderstorm.”

“The dimensions of this fire have caused a human tragedy beyond any in our memory,” Prime Minister Antonio Costa told reporters as he arrived on the scene Sunday. “Something extraordinary has taken place and we have to wait for technicians to properly determine its causes.”

More than 350 soldiers joined the ranks with 700 firefighters on Sunday to help put out the flames. Authorities believe that the recent high temperature in the region may have caused the fire. Temperatures have reached a high of 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit).

Resident Isabel Brandao told The Associated Press that she was enveloped in fear when she saw the flames.  “Yesterday we saw the fire but thought it was very far. I never thought it would come to this side,” she said Sunday. “At 3:30 a.m., my mother-in-law woke me up quickly and we never went to sleep again. We were afraid the fire would reach us.”

The mayor is also upset about this deadly incident. “This is a region that has had fires because of its forests, but we cannot remember a tragedy of these proportions,” said Valdemar Alves, the mayor of Pedrogao Grande. “I am completely stunned by the number of deaths.”

Interior Ministry official Jorge Gomes said that the firefighters had difficulty extinguishing the flames, which was “very intense” on at two out of the four locations where the fire spread. Gomes reported that 54 people were injured in the fire, 5 of them critically, including four firefighters and a minor.

Prime Minister Costa tweeted his “deepest regret for the victims … and a word of encouragement and strength for all who help combat this scourge.”

The European Union has stepped up to assist Portugal in this moment of hardship. Spain has sent four firefighting aircrafts to the area on Sunday. France also sent three aircraft and Greece’s prime minister had made the offer to send his country’s firefighters to the region.

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy tweeted that he is “overwhelmed by the tragedy at Pedrogao Grande. The Portuguese people can count on our solidarity, support and care.”

Meanwhile, Kazan, Russia, Portugal’s national soccer team wore black arm bands in solitary with the victims of the flames. They also stood for a moment of silence with the Mexican team to show respect to the 61 people who have lost their lives.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino, attending the match in Russia, showed his support to those affected by the fire. “We want to send a big hug to everyone in Portugal for what they are going through, which is absolutely terrible. There are no words for that.”

Always one of the WWE’s most consistently entertaining pay-per-views because the Money in the Bank ladder match has been used to propel new stars into the world championship title picture. Also who doesn’t love the sound of human flesh colliding with cold metal ladders? Expect a lot of high flying spots and ladders being used for everything other than changing a light bulb.

The woman’s division has come a long way recently with the first ever woman’s Hell in a Cell last year and now we’re having the first ever Woman’s Hell in a Cell match between Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Natalya, Tamina, and Carmella. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has launched several missiles at ISIL positions in Syria’s Deir Az Zor province. These missile attacks are in retaliation for two deadly attacks that struck Tehran on June 7th, 2017. The militant terrorist group The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack in Tehran.

“Medium-range missiles were fired from the (western) provinces of Kermanshah and Kurdestan, and a large number of terrorists were killed and weapons destroyed,” the Guard said in a statement published on its Sepahnews website this Sunday.

“The spilling of any pure blood will not go unanswered,” it added.

The guard said that they fired missiles on “a command base .. of the terrorists in Deir Ezzor,” (another name for the Deir Az Zor province).

Iranian television showed their audience footage of the missiles being fired into the night.

This is the first time that Iran has fired missiles outside of its own territory in 30 years. Hours before the missiles were fired, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said in a statement on his website, that Iran would “slap its enemies” to honor their friends and family members who have fallen at the hands of ISIL.

Let’s look at why Iran is retaliating against ISIS

On June 7th, members of ISIS attacked the the Mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini, killing 17 people in their warpath. Khonmeini was Iran’s first supreme leader, he was a revolutionary and guiding figure who helped oust the shah in 1979.

However, senior Iranian officials have shifted the blame on Saudi Arabia, asserting that the Islamic kingdom was promoting “terrorist attacks in Iran.”

Iran is a key ally of Russia, the Iranian-backed Hezbollah movement of Lebanon, and the Syrian government of President Bashar al-Assad.

According to Iran’s IRNA news agency, about 2,000 Iranian soldiers have perished in the war within Iraq and Syria.

Ozzy realized he had a sex addiction after his wife Sharon Osbourne found out about his extramarital affairs with a celebrity hairdresser. Hairstylist Michelle Pugh first colored Ozzy hair back in late 2011, which ended sparking a long-term relationship.

Ozzy and Sharon told their story to Hello! magazine,where the Black Sabbath front-man and his wife uncover key details about how their 33-year-old marriage almost came to end after Ozzy’s funny business.

“She was a hairdresser who was coming round to the house. I honestly don’t know how it started, but then it picked up momentum and I thought, ‘If I stop, she’s going to go to the press.’ By giving in to temptation, you put your head in the lion’s mouth, but then it closes, and no matter which way you go, you’ve done wrong.”

During this time, Sharon claims to not have been suspicious of Ozzy and Pugh’s interactions. Sharon wouldn’t have guessed in a million years what was really happening:

“I knew that she was overly flirty with Ozzy — you know when people over-laugh at things you say? — but to be truthful with you, I thought, ‘He would never go with that, ever. [I thought] ‘She’s just an old rock chick. Never in a million years.'”

Ozzy’s wife was so clueless of the affair that she only found out “when the press called. That was the first I knew of it.” Meanwhile, the heavy metal rocker was absolutely “scared to death” that Sharon found out about the affair.

“I knew that she was overly flirty with Ozzy — you know when people over-laugh at things you say? — but to be truthful with you, I thought, ‘He would never go with that, ever. [I thought] ‘She’s just an old rock chick. Never in a million years.'”

Osbourne says that his debilitating sex addiction is the worst addiction he has.

“My first wife divorced me because of my playing around. It’s by far the worst addiction that I have. When I was drinking or doing drugs, I was affecting myself physically, but with the sex addiction, it affects everybody. It made me realize what a complete idiot I was. I sat down and I thought, ‘What the hell have I done?’ I can’t imagine life without Sharon. She’s my soulmate. I love her. I can honestly say that I’ve never loved any other woman besides Sharon. I’ve got a crazy-assed way of showing it, but she’s the love of my life.”

Ozzy explained how living the life of a rock’n’roll superstar got the best of him.

“I’m fed up of being an addict — and it’s not just sex; it can be drugs, alcohol, collecting stamps, anything. There’s no in between with me and it’s really hard work. And the business that I’m in… it’s like sitting in a cake shop when you’re on a diet. I even do the sex therapy sessions on Skype now when I’m on the road.”

Last August, Ozzy underwent “intense therapy” for his sex addiction. “Over the last six years, I have been dealing with a sex addiction,” Osbourne said in a statement. “I am mortified at what my behavior has done to my family. I thank God that my incredible wife Sharon is at my side to support me.”

Of course, Ozzy completely contradicted this statement in a January 2017 interview with the Times of London. Ozzy laughed at those sex addiction acquisitions. He’s a bloody rockstar, isn’t he?

“I’m in a f*cking rock band, aren’t I? There have always been groupies. I just got caught, didn’t I? It was a bump in the road. I bet your marriage has bumps in the road too an’ all. In any marriage you grow apart if you don’t spend enough time together, and that was part of the problem. I don’t think I’m a fucking sex addict.”

However, Ozzy is still undergoing therapy for his sex addiction. Ozzy says that he’s “doing my utmost to make amends to Sharon and to all of the family.” On May 14, 2017, Ozzy and Sharon renewed their 35-year wedding vows. Hopefully, Ozzy can take this monkey of an addiction off his back and enjoy the result of his years with the love of his life.

Zack Ryder opens up the match with some “Woo Woo Woos.” Ryder takes down Primo with a dropkick.  Mojo gets the tag. Primo beats him into the corner, but Mojo fights back hard. “He ain’t hyped,” says Mojo to the crowd.

Ryder gets the tag once again. Primo exits the ring and Zack capitalizes with a big time sliding dropkick to both his opponents. But then Epico grabs Zack’s legs and Primo capitalizes and takes down “The Long Island Iced Z” as we go the break.

We’re back from the break and The Colons are kicking ass. Ryder tries to rally back, but gets slammed back to the mat by Epico.

Primo continues the assault. The Colon cousin is currently dissecting this bro.

Ryder counters a suplex and tags in Mojo who comes in like a bolt of lightning. Mojo is kicking ass. The Colons try their best to turn the tide. But a Hype Ryder is all that’s need to end this one.

The ladies really pulled off all the stops in this opening match-up. The crowd chanted “This is awesome” and “Holy Sh*t” multiple times in this match. Nattie was absolutely dangerous with ladders. Tamina looked like she was finally going to win the big one. Towards the end, Charlotte soared through  the air onto her opponents like an acrobat.

Becky Lynch appeared prime for victory as she drops Carmella with a sick powerbomb. But then “The Chinless Wonder” James Ellsworth came out of nowhere and dumped over the ladder. Ellsworth climbed the ladder and unhooked the briefcase. He dropped it down to “The Princess of Staten Island” Carmella.

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship match: The Usos (c) vs. The New Day

I felt the energy in the air as The Usos made their entrance and I realized that I underestimated the champions on the prediction page. The Usos dissected Kofi Kingston at the start of the match. The game looked all in favor of The Usos. But Big E rallies back and kicks some serious booty.

The Usos truly looked vicious in this match. But The New Day had that “Rocky spirit” to fight back against an opposing challenge.

Kofi even recovers and takes to the air and flies back-first onto his opponents. Woods even got involved, playing his green trumpet on the ring apron.

The New Day start kicking booty and The Usos don’t want to continue being violated. They also prefer to keep their titles for another night.

Naomi went on the attack first, but Lana regains control. Lana has some surprising offense from the early on, dominating the champion. And “The Ravishing Russian” doesn’t have to rely on any cheap tricks like a typical heel.

“Ms. Money In The Bank” Carmella comes down to the ring with her boo Ellsworth. She might just interject herself into the match. But no…she’ll wait.

Lana is distracted and tries to put away Naomi, but gets trapped in a sick submission.

WWE World Championship: Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Randy Orton

Orton gains control at the start of this contest. Randy tackles Jinder and sends out a series of strikes to the champion The Viper drops Mahal with a big clothesline over the top rope. Mahal regroups at ringside.

Randy is beating up Jinder at ringside, smacking the champ’s head on the announcer’s table. They return to the ring and Orton attempts a draping DDT. The Singh Brothers distract Orton, and Mahal capitalizes.

Jinder “The Maharaja” Mahal gains control and works on Randy’s knee. Mahal sends Orton flying into the ringsteps.

Towards the end, Randy regains control and is about to put away Jinder, but the Singh Brothers’ put Jinder’s foot on the lower rope. They break up the pinfall. The referee tells them to get out of there. But The Singh Brothers just won’t listen.

The Singh Brothers target Randy’s dad Bob Orton sitting at ringside. They grab him by his shirt, but Randy intervenes and beats the living sh*t out of both of Mahal’s hencemen. When Randy returns to the ring, he’s welcomed to a Khallas by the hands of the modern day maharaja.

The Ascension dominate for most of this match. Konnor and Viktor tried to dissect Tyler Breeze. When Fandango got the tag, the Fashion Police regained control. But still, the Ascension over come he po po and look primed for victory until Fandango roles up Viktor for the win.

Baron Corbin takes out Shinsuke Nakamura during his entrance, and I immediately regret not picking Corbin for my predictions article.

This match was absolutely insane. Owens and Zayn traded sick bumps. Zayn even sent Ziggler sailing with a powerbomb  from the ladder. Corbin looked primed for victory, but then Nakamura returned!

Shinsuke took Corbin out and then dueled shots with AJ Styles. Nakamura and Styles have an epic showdown, but then out of the shadows comes Baron Corbin who knocks both men off the ladder. Corbin climbs the ladder and secures that briefcase.

HBO’s Silicon Valley continues its fourth season tonight with episode No. 9, “Hooli-Con,” at 10:00 P.M. EST. Here’s everything you need to know from last week’s episode:

Due to a wave of unusually cold weather and consequent insurance claims, FGI faces a lot more data processing requirements than Pied Piper is expected to handle, and the team is facing an astronomical bill from their data storage center provider for the sudden spike. Richard decides to attract investment from another client to handle this, approaching Ehrlich so that he gets Keenan Feldspar to hear their pitch. Richard thinks Feldspar’s VR tech is a fad, but Dinesh and Gilfoyle are so impressed after trying it that they integrate Pied Piper’s middle out algorithm into Feldspar’s VR, which improves it greatly. As a result Feldspar offers to acquire Pied Piper altogether. Richard doesn’t want this, so he counters with an offer of $25 million, which Keenan still accepts. Richard intends to concede, but Monica warns him that Feldspar’s VR isn’t that great and that he’s walking into a trap, promising that she will fund their series A round if they can implement the decentralized internet project on a sufficient number of cell phones. After texting him telling him the deal is off, Richard learns that Feldspar has signed with Hooli, abandoning Ehrlich in the process. Richard decides to enter Hooli-Con, Hooli’s tech conference, to put Monica’s challenge into practice.

This week’s episode includes Erlich going on a trip to get his mojo back, the Pied Piper guys take to Hooli-Con to pull off a stealth operation. There, an ethically challenged Jared tries to keep himself in the dark, Gilfoyle and Dinesh get distracted by Keenan and Richard’s obsession with an ex’s new beau leads him to put their whole plan in jeopardy.

‘Silicon Valley’ Season 4, Episode 9 Preview

One person has been arrested following an incident on Seven Sisters Road in Finsbury Park in London.

Initial reports indicate that up to 10 people were struck by a van outside of a mosque, with three reportedly dead. The driver of the van has been arrested. Reports indicate that the people inside of the Finsbury Park mosque who were hit had just broken their fast. Furthermore, initial reports suggest that the attack was intentional.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said police were called around 12:20 AM local time.

“Officers are on the scene with other emergency services,” the spokesperson said. “There are a number of casualties being worked on at the scene. There has been one person arrested. Enquiries continue.”

Several pedestrians have been injured after being hit by a van in London. Witnesses said the vehicle veered off the road into crowds outside Finsbury Park Mosque but it was unclear whether the collision was deliberate.

Footage showed injured people motionless on the pavement as angry crowds surrounded a man believed to be the driver. Police did not confirm claims Muslims leaving the mosque after Tarawih prayers performed for the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

The London Ambulance Service sent multiple resources to the scene and the Metropolitan Police are referring to it as a ‘major incident’.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed there are a number of casualties. Part of Seven Sisters Road has been closed as the operation and investigation continues. Based on images from Twitter, the van appears to be rented from a company called Pontyclun Van Hire.

Twitter user @Known_As_H, who witnessed the events, said that civilian bystanders held the suspect down until police arrived.

The body of Nabra Hassanen, a 17-year-old girl who went missing from The ADAMS Center Mosque on the morning of Sunday, June 18, has been found by police in Fairfax, Virginia.

According to Fairfax Police, Hassanen was walking from The ADAMS Center toward a shopping center with a group of friends around 3 AM. According to Fairfax County Officer Tawny Wright said, some of her friends told police they were walking together in the area when the girl got into a dispute with a man who drove by in a car. The man got out of his car and assaulted the girl, Wright said.

Fairfax Police discovered a female body in the pond around 3 PM on Sunday. The pond is 2 to 3 miles away from where the original altercation happened. Authorities began searching for Hassan around 4 AM on Sunday in the area of Dranesville Road and Woodson Drive in Herndon.

According to accounts from police and a mosque official, a group of four or five teens were walking back from breakfast at IHOP early Sunday when they were confronted by a motorist. All but one of the teens ran to the mosque, where the group reported that the girl had been left behind, according to Deputy Aleksandra Kowalski, a spokeswoman for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Loudoun and Fairfax police jointly conducted an hours-long search around Dranesville Road and Woodson Drive in Herndon, which is in Fairfax. Remains thought to be the girl’s were found about 3 p.m. Sunday in a pond in the 21500 block of Ridgetop Circle in Sterling. During the search, an officer spotted a motorist driving suspiciously in the area and arrested Torres, police said. Police said they collected several articles of evidence but declined to provide further details.

Hassanen, who was a sophomore at South Lakes High School in Reston, Virginia, and would have been starting her junior year this fall. Her mother, Sawsan Gazzar, said detectives told her that Nabra was struck with a metal bat.

Darwin Martinez Torres, 22, of Sterling, Virginia, has been arrested and charged with her murder. Police are currently investigating whether or not the assault and murder of Hassanen was a hate crime.

The ADAMS Center Mosque released a statement on the tragic incident:

On Sunday, June 18th 2017, at approximately 4 a.m., according to Fairfax County Police, a dispute occurred between a group of teens who were walking along Dranesville Road in Sterling and a man driving a car. It appears the man got out of his car and assaulted one of them, a 17-year-old girl. Community members came across the group and directed them to ADAMS Center. Immediately thereafter, the ADAMS’ personnel notified both Loudon County and Fairfax County authorities who immediately began an extensive search to locate the missing girl.The search continued until around 3 p.m. when the body of a female were found in a pond in Sterling.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to confirm the identity of the body and determine the exact cause and manner of death.The joint county investigation has led to an individual being taken into custody as a suspect. Charges are pending further investigation. We thank both Fairfax County Police and Loudoun County Sheriff’s departments for their diligent efforts in investigating and apprehending a suspect. We call on law enforcement to investigate and determine the motive of this crime and prosecute to the full extent of the law.We are devastated and heartbroken as our community undergoes and processes this traumatic event. It is a time for us to come together to pray and care for our youth. ADAMS has licensed counselors on site to assist anyone in need of counseling during these difficult times.

Words fail at a time like this, so we’ll all have to do the best we can to surround them with the love and support they’ve always shown each of us.”

At the time of this writing, a crowdfunding page created for Nabra has raised over $50,000.

A van ran over worshipers while they were exiting a mosque in North London early Monday morning. Metropolitan Police arrived on the scene shortly after midnight (12:20 A.M. local time). They reported that “a number of casualties” were being treated for injuries.

The person behind the wheel of that van has been arrested.

“Officers are on the scene with other emergency services,” the Metropolitan Police statement said. “There are a number of casualties being worked on at the scene. There has been one person arrested. Enquiries continue.”

Worshippers left the mosque right after midnight when the van struck. A witness who lived close-by reported that she heard screaming. “From the window, I started hearing a lot of yelling and screeching, a lot of chaos outside. Everybody was shouting: ‘A van’s hit people, a van’s hit people.’ There was this white van stopped outside Finsbury Park mosque that seemed to have hit people who were coming out after prayers had finished.”

She arrived with her husband, who is now taking her last name as Michael Kanellis (formerly Michael Bennett). “The First Lady of Professional Wrestling” Maria is finally back where she belongs after over seven years away from the WWE.

Ms. Kanellis began her career on WWE’s Diva Search competition in 2004. She may have not won the competition, but she won over the hearts of the fans. She eventually became a ditzy backstage interview and received even more fanfare.

In 2009, Maria received a Slammy Award when the fans named her “Diva Of The Year.” However, this taste of success was only short lived, as she was released from the company only a couple of months later.

Maria and her husband Michael forged a new identity for themselves on the independent wrestling scene. They entertained the fans of Ring of Honor and TNA iMPACT! Wrestling. The couple simply oozed confidence and Maria improved on the microphone like never before. She use to call her husband “The Miracle,” but now she’s calling him by her original last name. They’re here to educate the masses. And the good people over at COED are certainly willing to learn from Maria…

Police in Fairfax, Virginia has found the body of Nabra Hussein, a 17-year-old girl who went missing from The ADAMS Center Mosque on the morning of Sunday, June 18.

According to Fairfax Police, the girl was walking from The ADAMS Center toward a shopping center with a group of friends around 3 AM. She then allegedly got into a dispute with a man driving a red car, who then got out of his car and assaulted her.

At this time, Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Phyllis Randal identified the victim as Nabra Hussein, who was a sophomore at South Lakes High School in Reston, Virginia, and would have been starting her junior year this fall.

Fairfax Police began searching at 4 a.m. Sunday. Her body was found Sunday around 3 p.m. floating in a pond in the 21500 block of Ridgetop Circle in Sterling, Virginia.

Police noticed a car driving suspiciously in the area and stopped it, arresting the driver, who was taken into custody and identified as 22-year-old Darwin Martinez Torres, of Sterling. He has been charged with murder.

Chairwoman Randall said police found a bat near the scene. Police have not yet ruled whether or not it was a hate crime. The chief medical examiner will confirm the identity of the victim and determine the exact cause and manner of her death.

A vigil is expected to be held for Nabra on Wednesday, June 21, in the Reston, Virginia. A GoFundMe page set up for Nabra’s family has raised more than $25,000 at the time of this writing.

The ADAMS Center Mosque released a statement on the tragic incident:

On Sunday, June 18th 2017, at approximately 4 a.m., according to Fairfax County Police, a dispute occurred between a group of teens who were walking along Dranesville Road in Sterling and a man driving a car. It appears the man got out of his car and assaulted one of them, a 17-year-old girl. Community members came across the group and directed them to ADAMS Center. Immediately thereafter, the ADAMS’ personnel notified both Loudon County and Fairfax County authorities who immediately began an extensive search to locate the missing girl.The search continued until around 3 p.m. when the body of a female were found in a pond in Sterling. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to confirm the identity of the body and determine the exact cause and manner of death.The joint county investigation has led to an individual being taken into custody as a suspect. Charges are pending further investigation. We thank both Fairfax County Police and Loudoun County Sheriff’s departments for their diligent efforts in investigating and apprehending a suspect. We call on law enforcement to investigate and determine the motive of this crime and prosecute to the full extent of the law.We are devastated and heartbroken as our community undergoes and processes this traumatic event. It is a time for us to come together to pray and care for our youth. Authorities have yet to determine whether the incident was a hate crime. Torres, of Sterling, Virginia, was arrested and charged with murder.
