Kanye West is supposed to be headlining this year’s Glastonbury festival in the UK, but fans aren’t having it. In light of the announcement earlier today, a single concertgoer started a petition titled “Cancel Kanye West’s headline slot and get a rock band,” and it already has 40,000 supporters.
Despite never having been to Glastonbury before, Neil Lonsdale – who started the movement – doesn’t believe West measures up to the greats before him. Accompanying his petition, he writes:
Kanye West is an insult to music fans all over the world. We spend hundreds of pounds to attend glasto, and by doing so, expect a certain level of entertainment.
Kanye has been very outspoken on his views on music….he should listen to his own advice and pass his headline slot on to someone deserving!
Lets prevent this musical injustice now!
With a total audience of more than 135,000 people, we’re keeping an eye on how many more attendees mark their names down. Sorry, Kanye.
