Three students from Bethune-Cookman University are injured after an on-campus shooting broke out last night. Daytona Beach police were called to the scene just before 6:40 pm, where they promptly arrived at the parking lot between the football team’s practice field and the music building.
One of the victims – whose name was not released – recalls hearing gunshots and throwing his body to the ground. A bullet grazed his left ear. The other two victims experienced similar wounds: one man was rushed to the hospital with a shoulder wound while the other was injured in his right knee.
Two men were detained, including a BCU student. It remains unclear as to how or why the shooting started.
This is a developing story.
