Auli’i Cravalho is a rising actress who burst onto the Hollywood scene as the voice of Moana in the Disney Pictures hit Moana. She is now bringing her talents to a national audience on ABC in the role of the lovable mermaid Ariel in the live-action special The Little Mermaid Live!
She will be starring alongside the likes of Queen Latifah, Shaggy, and John Stamos in the special in front of a live studio audience.
For the role of Ariel, Auli’i has dedicated herself to a specific workout.
“‘Part of Your World’ is really exciting to me because I get to do some aerial work in that,” she said. “So Ariel gets to do aerial work, which I think is also the best pun in the world. And I’m really, really excited. I’ve been doing a lot of ab exercises, I’ve been doing a lot of crunches, a lot of planks.”
