Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is cooking up something new and it’s getting boozy. The Rock announced on Wednesday, October 30 that he is set to launch his own tequila brand named Teremana Tequila. The announcement was made by the Hobbs & Shaw star on social.
The Rock was set to launch his own tequila brand earlier in the year under the name Mana, but the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office turned down the trademark. He had a grace period to come up with a new name and once again went with a word that plays a big part in Hawaiian and Polynesian culture.
“TERA means of the earth and MANA is our powerful Polynesian spirit that guides us. Spirit of the earth,” he announced while explaining the inspiration behind the name. “Our goal is to create a tequila that is the best of quality and taste but done the right way – by hand. Small batch, handcrafted tequila from our Teremana blue agave, maturing in the highlands of Jalisco, for everyone to enjoy.”
The tequila will launch in the first quarter of 2020.
“After years of hard work, this blessing is truly a dream come true – but it’s just the beginning and there’s much work to be done,” Johnson continued. “I’m committed with my team to bring you the best tequila, because quality and legacy are what matter most. From all of us here at Distilleria Teremana, we invite you to COME HAVE A DRINK.”
So who is looking forward to downing some of The Rock’s brand new beverage so you can drink link a superstar? Just bring it.
