Nate Diaz claimed a flagged drug test has jeopardized his chances of competing in the main event of UFC 244 at Madison Square Garden in New York City against Jorge Masvidal for the title of “Baddest Motherf*cker.”
“I’m not gonna make it out to NYC for fight week next week because they say I tested with elevated levels that they say might be from some tainted supplements,” Diaz said in a statement. “I call false on that cause I only take Whole Foods or natural supplements. I don’t even eat meat. So until UFC, USADA or whoever is f*cking with me fixes it, I won’t be competing. I’m not gonna play their game and try and hide it or keep quite, as they suggested.
“I’m not gonna have my name tained as a cheater like these other motherf*ckers who keep quiet until after the fight just so they can get paid. F*ckin cheaters. I don’t give a fuck about some money over dignity and my legacy. I’m not playin along with this bullshit. I’m not staying quiet and figuring it out after the fight. That’s cheating. So fight game I’ll see you when I see you.
“Sincerely, the realest baddest mother f*cker in the game.”
However, USADA says that they have not suspended Diaz despite his claims. according to ESPN.
From the report:
Sources told ESPN that Diaz tested positive for trace amounts of a prohibited selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM). In his post Thursday, Diaz adamantly denied knowingly taking any banned drugs. The news that USADA has not suspended Diaz keeps the fight between him and Masvidal in play. The ultimate decision could come down to Diaz himself, sources said.
Whether Diaz fights at UFC 244 remains to be seen, but we will all have to hold our collective breaths that the fan favorite will be competing in a highly-anticipated bout.
